So I log into irc.pyoko.org port 6668 as normal, and it sends me to saltteddy.verylowsodium.com as normal, but nobody's there.

I've been trying for a couple hours to see if it will send me to a server that's not split off from the rest of the network, but I keep getting sent to the same server, where the only two clients in the channel are myself and my work account's login(who has ops).
Since I don't see anybody else complaining that the server's messing up, I assume everyone else is on a different server. Unfortunately, irc.pyoko.org 6668 is the only one I know of, and that's getting me nowhere rather splendidly. Which are the other servers available on this network?
This is because, as #void's topic has said for weeks, everyone is supposed to be connecting to pyoko.svartalfheim.net. Sadly, irc.pyoko.org is prone to netsplits.
so much for the get everyone on the same controlled server pointer. ;\

I attempted that several times. Unfortunately, somewhere along the dormitory network here, port 6667 is completely blocked. I require an IRC server which has alternate ports(6668 most commonly). I've tried 5555 and 6665-7000, and no response as of yet. Is there another server there?
The simplest solution may be to use ssh forwarding; that's what I use to get around the IRC blocks on my campus (they block IRC since zombiebots use it, is what I'm told.) PM me if you want more details, DannyCat.
I didn't even know everyone was trying to get onto the same server. O_O I've been using mint.sayuri.org as per something I saw on a secret channel. >_>
It was in the #SR topic for the better part of a month.
I took it down figuring everyone had seen it by then.

Guess who (until recently) took a vacation from IRC? ;)
I was aware. I was trying not to make the obligatory snarky comment =p

IRC doesn't like me. I don't even bother with it anymore.
Well, my little server offshoot still seems to work with everyone else so I guess it's not an issue. =p
There's a good reason for that. mint.sayuri.ca is where pyoko.svartalfheim. net and irc.svartalfheim.net CNAME to. So you're on the same server as everyone else.
Now, if we ever change that pointer...

Erm...I'd have to kill you? =p
We'd all suddenly vanish and you'd be left wondering what's going on.
It's why we're trying to get everyone on the same pointer so that, if we ever end up moving again, it's this quick painless event that occurs in almost a blink.
