The Inactivity is getting really old. Post here within the next three days or you will be considered to be no longer playing. By not posting you forgo your right to complain if we move on without your approval. Your opinion will matter as soon as you become active again (ie you post).
aye aye cap!
I agree, but on the condition everyone with an e-mail listed is notified.
Heheheh . . .
The interesting thing about this thread and others is that not only are we stepping outside the rules but we're doing it without unanimous consent!
Where iz we goingz? ;.;
Sorry, but you definately can't kick players out, its no where in the rules.
But if we were playing by the rules, this game has ended. =P
Then the decision is do we, as a group decide on a course of action not prohibited by the rules, and therefore legal, or do we call this game over with Rez being the winner, since it was his legislation that confused the issue, although, arguably the problem lies in the initial set, and therefore the tricky bastard who inventedthis game is the winner... lol
I'm here, I'm here
I'm here- wait, did the argument finish yet? :D

He's not kicking players out, just making it so they are are not a part of the game process until they post again.
people that are inactive aren't really gonna care whether we move on or not. that's the point of this thread. we only really give a **** about unanimous consent of active players. Look at the word unanimous for example. it is derived from the latin for "(with) one soul." However, only active living being can have an animus (be animated), so unanimous means by definition only those who are active. we are finding out now who has not decided to quit, because it would be a shame for the game to end now simply due to inactivity.
People are only inactive because we were so indecisive on the rule call. No one has missed their turn.
I don't care where the word was derived from, a player is a player until we kick them out or they stop playing. So are we kicking them out for not noticing a thread? For not posting after? Whatever...
I move that we start a new nomic, and call this one. This one needs too many changes to become effective, and now we're talking about removing players without the proper legislation in effect.
We are not removing players from the game. We are simply taking a head count of active players and moving the game forward with a clean conscience. I don't really want to start another game with so many active and willing players chopming at the bit to play. Change is what this game is about, it's when this game doesn't have any more changes left to it that we should end it.
The rules very clearly state that when the game is too muddled to continue, it ends.
I'm stating that it very clearly is too muddled, as we're having to invent methods of change with new orders not even specified in the rules - and it will involve rule changes (as we can't even decide what's passed and what hasn't, as we can't decide who's judge..)
It would, quite frankly, be quicker to start a new game anyway. Make the appropriate fixes to the starting ruleset..I don't mind if we include the new rules introduced into the starting ruleset as well.
I'm not even sure if the scores are right (how could they be if we can't decide on anything).
We can't continue play in any shape or form until we decide quite clearly, to the satisfaction of everyone, where we are, and I very much doubt that will happen.
Obviously LHP Sax, I mean, how can we be sure everyone is satisfied with a statement of where we are if a small percentage of everyone never says anything to either effect?
Or maybe it's obvious because we know you'll never be satisfied whether the others are or not. You complain about every little thing we try to do to get moving again.
Alrighty then, Sr. Sax, here is a new proposal for you. We end the game now with no winner (since it wouldn't be fair to declare a winner when so many rules have already been broken by so many), and start over with the ruleset as it stands now. We make all the players who post in the Sound Off thread players in the new game, we keep the turn order alphabetic, and we start with Rez as the first player? Would that satisfy you? It's essentially what we were going to do anyway, with the small difference that everyone would lose what points they've gotten.
I'm not the enemy here, and don't start pointing fingers, and don't attack me just because you're frustrated. Be nice to me, I've not attacked you personally, but again you find the need to throw stones.
I'm not content with restarting the game unless we A. fix the problems with the rules first and B. Find a place we are all content to restart. And frankly, I don't think thats going to happen without restarting the game. And until someone "proves me wrong" I'm sticking to it.
No one has said anything except "we should do something." I've layed out my proposal once already (not here, but Rye and Soph both have it, I'll post it).
As much as I'd like to see us work this thing out as a group, I highly doubt that will happen. EVERYONE is too concerned at the moment with making the ruling concerning CCN Rez's turn favor them that nobody is willing to compromisefor the sake of the game. Therefore, I'm beginning to side with LHP Sax on this call. Let's clear the game completely, and start with one thread for discussing changes to the initial set. When a 2/3rds majority votes to use a new initial set, the new game begins with the same turn order, but starting with CCN Rez's turn.
Or can anyone honestly say this isn't the best compromise we are going to get?
Sax,
If you would like to suggest changes, then damn it suggest them -this is getting really old. You keep insisting on fixing the rule set without saying a word on how they ought to be fixed.
Can all agree that both the current form of rule 212 and the proposed amendment do not work? I can see that the provisional judgement system needs fixing. The edit/deleting posts feature needs to be removed.
On all of your posts you insist on instituting these changes before you will agree to do anything - restart rizatis's turn or restart the game. So lets have it.
SuperusSophia,
On the Judgement issue I will not back down, your right. But I will consent to let Riz start his turn anew in the interest of getting the game started. As will quintopia and every other player except Sax and Darth (who we havent heard from since his turn). I see no reason for people to loose the points they have earned or to make someone overhaul the boards.
I've said repeatedly that the judgement rule needs to be fixed. I haven't quite looked into how, but "damn it," it needs to be fixed. Whats to stop someone from pulling the same shit again? We can't "fix it" and then pick up from where we left off, we'd never agree. Hell, I could call judgement on any dispute I create, and we're deadlocked again, as the rules simply conflict with themselves.
The ruleset is quite obviously broken as almost every instance of the word "judge" doesn't go along with the other rules. Surely you see that?
We need to stop the game, and discuss the changes to the ruleset. Don't point at me and expect me to come up with some divine plan..I surely can make suggestions, but I know as well as you that I'm not perfect.
I'm not deliberately stalling the game. I'm just declaring it is broken, and it needs fixing.
EDIT:
The points don't matter at all at the moment really..
The judge rule was not what breoke the system, it was the implimentation of the 5th step of the player's turn. The rules were not broken, nobody wanted to follow the rules as they are laid out. The only way the original 212 rule could be used to break the system is if there was confusion on who's turn it is, which shouldn't be able to happen, and would not have if Quin hadn't been an ass about step 5, which as I saw it and as it was implemented up to that point was as a note that it needs to happen. That part needs to be reworded, not rule 212.
And if this issue is not corrected in 48 hrs, I', leaving the game. This is rediculous. If anyone wants to contact me to discuss the rules, fine. My email is: superussophia@yahoo.com and my AIM is: thehun85
Good god, this has gotten muddled...why is it so hard to reach a compromise here? Yes, we do need to discuss changes to the rule-set, Sax, and the game appears to be stopped already, for that specific purpose. :) What, exactly, are everyone's complaints? Perhaps there's a way to sort it out yet.
I'm resigning from the game, much to the delight of a few I'm sure. The stress to fun ratio is simply not compelling. Peace.

The reason I'm ready to leave is that nobody is talking. Im made several suggestions over the last week and only two or three other players have responded, and even then it did nothing to help the situation. If people WANT to reach a decision here, then fine, but if the majority of the players are just going to ignore it, then this isn't worth my time.

True, true. People don't seem so involved at the moment. Personally, I was on spring break the past week, gallavanting around the country, so I apologise for my lack of input. :) We do need to establish better communication on the boards though, or confusions like this are never going to be resolved.
I apologize. I've been slack and real life has left me sorta not-in-the-mood to play. That said, I'm here and I'm back, and I'm sorry to te people unable to get me over AIM and MSN, I've been AFK far, far too much lately.
