The feeling of mind and soul being bound to flesh is not a feeling that is easy to adapt to. But once again the t hree bound souls must do that. As they grapple with this feeling, the room of statues looms. Four statues again, the way open shielded for now.
Aesop moved forward, unlocking the same way they did previously to open the door and lead forward to the main room with little preamble or reflection.
Dracos
Once again a goblin comes to life! His words are spry and servile, as the way ahead is opened!
Ball's in your court again. The snake or the kobolds?!
After quickly casting 'Armour' upon himself, Tchaener nods to his friends.
"My wits are about me, haha! It's good to feel smart instead of wise again. And charming. So charming. I think I'll go talk to the snake."
"Okay," in a gravely voice, the hideous visage of Aesop turned back from there. "From here, as planned, you go alone Tchaener. We'll stay back. Scream if she attacks. Try and get some of her gold when you do and keep things calm. The passage on the other side you want is the white one. And be careful of the trap on the door, a blade one by the handle...and ..ugh my head is foggy." The man rubbed his temples.
Dracos
"I hear you," replies the warrior-sage, walking boldly towards the snake-woman's door!
Haha! This time, he will not be foiled!
In this room rests a great woman! Her top is bare and her breasts show alluringly, yet from her stomach down she is a snake! Long purple hair cascades down her back. She rests on a small bed, slithering about on it restlessly. A small, cozy bedroom, with a door on the far upper right side corner, half obscured by silk curtains.
"Oh..." She murmurs, voice a throaty whisper, "Visitors? Mmm. A handsome one, too...?"
"Ah, you compliment me too much, fair lady," replies Tchaener, bowing deeply. "I am but a humble swordsman, who wishes to see what lies about this place. But, to find such a beauty- truly, the gods bless me today!
May I have the honour of knowing your name?"

"Oh...oh..."! Her hands to go her flaming red cheeks, breathing heavy. "My name is...Lilithria, fair warrior!"[/i]
"Ah- a name worthy of the most beautiful creation in all the world!" replies Tchaener, sighing himself. "My lady, I simply cannot pass without offering a song; one of my few talents, I must say. Oh, I hope it can be worthy of you!"
And so, Tchaener sings; a tale of one man, and his war; for his goddess, and his wife.
[00:05] * Hatbot --> "Carthrat rolls 1d20 and gets 16." [1d20=16] pass
The tears that flow from her eyes are of green venom, yet her voice chokes up in real emotion. "Oh...oh...what a story!" She blushes and simpers. "What wonderful storycraft! Noble warrior, allow me to give you a boon."
Tchaener bows. "My lady, your presence alone; what greater boon could there be?!"
"Oh...thank you!" So shivering, "Will you come here?" An alluring, hungry look, as she pats the side of her bed.
Tchaener pauses, and then he smiles. "As you will, my lady," he responds, walking over towards her bed, and taking a seat.
He does cast a wary glance at her tail, before his eyes move back to face her...
Her tail flickers back and forth, but Tch is hard pressed to notice this as she hugs onto him! "Oh, my brave, entertaining hero!" she purrs, starting to wrap around him, tail hooking over to loop. "So wonderful! Tell me, brave one, what is it you wish in Eisenschloss?"
"Ah, my lady, from this floor, I have heard of gems; one as bright as the sun, and one as dark as night," replies Tchaener, grimly. "My curiosity drives me ever forward... to see what lies behind the next door!
"How did you come to be here, Lilithria? Why is your beauty cloistered away from admiring eyes?"
"Ooooh! You seek them?" Lilithra smiles, slowly tightening her grasp. "One lies ahead, past the door I am doomed to guard, brave hero!" Her eyes go from you to the top of her shelf, "There rests the key there. Go on as you wish. Unless...you would honor me to stay in my embrace?"
"My lady, I shall have to return here after I obtain it, surely!" he replies, sighing happily. "And even as I strive to open the great door before this one, I will remember, and once the path is clear, I will come back again."
"Thank you!" Squeezing even tighter, "Oh brave warrior!"
"My lady," coughs Tchaener, somehow maintaing his pleasant disposition despite his rapidly rising concern- "The quicker I depart, the sooner I shall return, once again to seranade ye!"

[00:50] * Hatbot --> "Carthrat rolls 1d20 and gets 3." [1d20=3]
Corwin notches an arrow, waiting by the doorway with Aesop and remaining silent for the time being.
"Very well." With as light rustle of her tail letting go and relief coming, "Go on, brave hero!"
Tchaener does not gasp for breath- that can wait until *after* the door.
"My thanks!" he replies, calmly walking to pick up the key from the shelf, and then moving to open the door.
The door opens! Once through Tchaener sees a small jutting platform with a plaque holding podium, and four paths soaring off into the dark - white, gray, black and steel.
Tchaener gasps, and starts breathing properly again.
After a couple of minutes of that behaviour, he bravely walks along the white path, like Aesop instructed him!
On crossing the white path, Tchaener begins to feel faint! Five minutes of long walking leads him deep into the abyss of emptiness, when an image appears. A lonely snake woman sits in her bed, bored and waiting. The feeling of a great passage of time, hoping against hope to have entertainment - until that day, when...
The path is at an end. Ahead is a doorw ith a peculiar knob.
Tchaener pulls out his Rope, and quickly tries to tie it around the doorknob. After this is done, he steps back and carefully levers the door open...
The rope is cut as the door is pulled open! A nasty stabbign blade reveals itself, but the door is safely open nonetheless. Ahead is the spiky pit, the black gem floating, waiting ahead of you.
Expertly looping the rope through the sack, and creating a useful grabbing tool, Tchaener slings it out to try and snatch the levitating orb!
THACO
[01:17] * Hatbot --> "Carthrat rolls 1d20+2 and gets 7." [1d20=5]
Utter failure. The throw is errant, not even triggering the arrow trap.
Reeling his snare back in, Tchaener sends it forth once more!
[01:19] * Hatbot --> "Carthrat rolls 1d20+2 and gets 16." [1d20=14]
> roll 1d20+10
* Hatbot --> "Anawork rolls 1d20+10 and gets 28." [1d20=18]
Got it! This time the floating crystal is nabbed, landing safely amid the perilous spikes! It's a simple matter from here to reel it in.
Having pulled back in the orb, Tchaener starts his treck back towards the snake-woman, a satisfied grin on his face.
Oh! Once inside you find her waiting for you - smiling ear to ear, right niside the door! "My hero!" she crows, latching onto Tchaener with affection and tight squeezing! Ow! (1 damage.)
"Ah, not quite so enthusiastic, my dear," notes Tchaener, wincing a little. "The trek was difficult walking."
"DId you get it," she asks cheerfully, slightly less binding as she wraps around Tchaener - literally. Her head rests against his chin, eyes sparking.
"I did! Half of the yonder door is now open!" he crows, before his voice turns a little sad. "Why is it that you must remain here for eternity?"
Player.
"Oh! I am trapped to this room," The snakewoman merely sighs, "Such is my fate. Oh, if one were to be able to dispel the potent curse on me one day...I have a book. A great book, and with the right password, it can summon a tool. For you know..."
A pause as she lowers her voice, "The Dark One has a secret. There is a legendary artifact from across the plains here..." So she sighs, "I will tell you the password and give you the book if you can ever free me. Even if I do not remember this meeting a day later, I will keep that word. I swear it by Lolth herself. With that book, part of the bindings around it can be undone."[/i]
Tchaener pauses, and the nods, slowly. "We all have a stake in unravelling this place," he says, eventually. "This is not my true self, but a form designed to conquer this level.
"Yet I would free all who are forced to live here, time after time after time. I know not if it's a cruelty or a blessing to retain memories of prior encounters. But to spite him...
"Then, yes. Do you have a hint of how it may be done?"
"No. I only know this little fragment. I'm sorry...Tchaener." A sad smile plays on her face as she unwinds, letting go of the warrior. "Go. Maybe you'll even survive."
Tchaener looks sombre as he bows finally to the woman. It is not a flourishing or captivating bow, but the short nod of a soldier.
"Then, I'm off," he says, turning to leave the room and rejoin his companions.
"Success?" Corwin asks him, looking at Tchaener from behind a mess of bandages which leave only his eyes visible.
"Correct. I've the gem," he responds, sounding somewhat down.
"Shall we proceed?"
Corwin nods at Tchaener's words. "We go in after those creatures, or try to reason with them?"
Tchaener gives a tiny shrug. "To be honest, either solution is likely to produce victory. In the interests of novelty, I shall try and speak with them."
"Did anyone bring silver or gold? There was some in her room and it would likely make things easier with them," Aesop suggested.
Dracos
"I don't want to speak to her again," says Tchaener, sounding a little uncomfortable.
"Doesn't matter. My rhetoric is strong, right now. If worst comes to worst, we'll simply butcher the lot, and that will be that."
Aesop nodded, staying behind the charismatic one so as not to ruin his flare. "Remember, we want them to set upon his tauntedness if we can."
Dracos
"Hmph."
So saying, Tchaener pushes open the kobold door, marching boldly inside!
Ahead is a long retangular corridor. Hay and offal are left about, a foul stentch permeating the air. Small stacks and huts of scrap wood and heavy hay are about. Inside vicious little Kobolds peek out, gathering in the center of the hall! There must be a dozen of the creatures, blue furred and wearing dirty leathers! One stands at the top of the pack, eyes with unusual intelligent brimming over. "Me Hector. This is our village! No one pass without paying the toll!
"The toll, my little friend? Tell me, what is your toll?" asks Tchaener, broadly.
"Shiny things!" Pointing at the hilt of Tchaener's two handed sword, "Shiny things like that!"
"This old thing?" asks Tchaener, bermused. "When far shinier things hide away behind your door? Surely, young seeker, you jest!"
"Anything shiny!" Hector says, as his troops behind him nod and look 'fearsome'. "Shiny!" Another carols, rubbing it's handpaws together. "Shiny-shiny!"
The lead kobold nods, "We want shiny things. Pretty things. Toll's shiny things."
"Well, then, you must let me and my friends pass," states Tchaener. "I have it on good authority that shiny things are beyond, and we could retrieve them for you!
"We know of foul sorcerers, you see, guarding the shiniest of shinies!"
"You know about the foul ones beyond?" Hector yips in surprise, hand going to the handle of his short sword. "There's supposed to be a reallyb ig shiny past them!"

Tchaener waves his companions through the village, back up to the door just before the crazy magely men.
Aesop nods and carries through the village following Tchaener and stopping at the door. With the group ready, he opened it, quickly eyeballing his targets and firing off a hold persons spell at them.

Corwin swims towards the bank of the river his allies are at, his mind clear and his own. Getting on firm ground, he swiftly makes his way towards Tchaener's sleeping form, and kicks his midsection to wake him up.
Satisfied with his handiwork, the archer withdraws another arrow, aiming his bow at the remaining enemies.
Go ahead and wake up, but you're out of the round, Tch.
Meanwhile on the other side, the wizard chants! His words are gibberish, but two glowing missiles escape from his fingers, ripping into Aesop!

The last two are held tight, bound by Aesop's magic!
As all targets are held and there is no danger, go ahead and act, guys.
Letting his arrow fly at the enemy mage, Corwin nocks another and calmly sends it flying after its brethren.
"We are spared by the grace of Zeus!" Aesop praises and reaches down to help Tchaener up. Once the stout man has risen, he makes his way across the jellyfish river to smite with mace any who live.
Dracos
The rest of the horde is dispatched with ease! Dropped behind by them are the following:
A Stone of Identification, known to Tchaener.
A mace.
A robe.
A scroll.
"Now I believe we need to rest and deal with that creature below. Who prepared for the trip through the jellyfish? And, Tchaener, the mace was magical here, correct?" Aesop waited for clarification.
Dracos
"It was- it's a mace with a minor enhancement. But it's deadlier towards creatures of good alignment," he states, walking towards the items. He briefly takes a look at the scroll, and touches the stone of identification to the robe...
Robe of protection +1 (AC 9 in effect).
"And this is a robe of protection," he continues, dropping it. "It's useless to me, but maybe one of you could use it. Doesn't work with magical protection."
After that, he takes a look at the scroll in greater detail.
It is a scroll of magic missile. One free casting of magic missile ahoy, much like your foe mage used time before last.
"And this isn't at the height of usefulness, either," he snorts, tucking it away. "Well, I'm up for some creature-killing. You two?"
"I'll take the robe. Never can have too much of that," the cowardly philosopher accepted, slipping it on over his armor. "Let's," He agreed with Tchaener. "that way we have it clear. Any idea what you're going to give the kobolds?"
Dracos
"There's a second two-handed sword down there," smirks the mage. "I'll give them the one I've got now after I grab it."
Corwin places his bow across his back, and picks up the mace, giving it a few practice swings.
Corwin finds that the mace is well balanced. A good weapon with a kick behind it!
Subject to correction since I'm not at home to check my notes, but it's a Mace+1, +2 vs good. Posting this since Rat IDed it already and it's easier if you have the info handy.
"Let's go, then," says the mage, jumping back into the water!
Once Aesop is down with him, he unsheaths his greatsword, and starts swimming through the water!
Mace at the ready, Aesop follows beside the warrior, ready to smite with spell and magic the weird creature he saw before.
Corwin follows, ready to put the nasty little mace to use.
Rushing deeper into the underpass, the party approaches the stairrise! The orb is gone, but you can dimly see the other objects waiting! But near it you can see splashing, coming towards you as you swim close!
Initiative.
I'm making a blanket mod of 4 to all actions while mostly submerged/fighting in the wash. If you have swimming you can reduce that by 1 point. So it's a +4 to initiative, -4 to attack rolls, ect. Fair heads up, since fighting in water is a bitch. Reaching the stairs will negate these penalties, obviously.
Dexterity bonuses also fail to apply in water like this. You're just too slow.

> roll 1d8+1
* Hatbot --> "Anaway rolls 1d8+1 and gets 2." [1d8=1]
A weak slash, but it does open another venom filled slice against Tchaener's neck!
Save vs poison
[10:35] * Hatbot --> "Carthrat rolls 1d20 and gets 3." [1d20=3]
Make a con check -1, Tch.
[12:14] * Hatbot --> "Carthrat rolls 1d20-1 and gets 10." [1d20=11]
Aesop and Corwin see Tchaener stumble valiantly before keeling back into the water! His splash is massive as he goes down, unmoving and beginning to drown if he isn't bailed out!
Tch has been overwhelmed by two poison hits back to back and has passed out. Additionally, he gets a stacking -2 to DEX and -1 to STR until rested up or cured effectively. Aesop and Corwin are on the stairs and can roll initiative or inspect the items there or whatever as they wish.
"Dammit, this isn't according to the strategy. Cover me, I'm dragging him out."
With that Aesop headed in to grab him and drag him to land.
Dracos
Roll initiative. Since I assume Corwin is shooting, I'll roll initiative for him.
<Drac-chores> roll 1d10+3 I SWIM!
* Hatbot --> "Drac-chores rolls 1d10+3 I SWIM! and gets 9." [1d10=6]

<Drac-chores> HAH, A MIGHTY BELOW TEN!
> roll 1d10 CORWINS HOOTS
* Hatbot --> "Anastasia rolls 1d10 CORWINS HOOTS and gets 9." [1d10=9]
Fish=Aesop>Corwin. Aesop can act, but the fish'll probably just go after him as he does. Go ahead and describe getting a grasp of poor Tch, and what's your STR, Aesop?
Aesop swims with great strides, grabbing Tsch and carrying him towards shore.
Dracos

> roll 1d8+1
* Hatbot --> "Anastasia rolls 1d8+1 and gets 7." [1d8=6]
* Retrieving #elysium modes...
Aesop gets a hold of the brave Tchaener, beginning to drag him to the stairy s hore! But as he does the fishy creature is fast, clawing into his side with wounded, angry viciousness! A stream of red escapes his flesh, staining the water a mix of dark green and seeping red!
Save vs poison.
The heroic aesop groans as the poison runs through him, risking life, limb, and dignity to pull Tsch towards the stairs.
[22:32] <@Dracos> roll 1d20 versus uh something
[22:32] * Hatbot --> "Dracos rolls 1d20 versus uh something and gets 2." [1d20=2]
[22:32] <@Dracos> fail
-2 to DEX and -1 to STR until you rest for 8 hours or get cured, Aesop.
Meanwhile Corwin threads two more arrows, shooting them into the muck as Aesop valiantly tries to save Tchaener!
> roll 1d20
* Hatbot --> "Anastasia rolls 1d20 and gets 4." [1d20=4]
> roll 1d20
* Hatbot --> "Anastasia rolls 1d20 and gets 10." [1d20=10]
Both arrow land in the water around it, as it gives chase! Aesop just reaches the edge of the stairs as the rain of arrows finishes, fishman in close pursuit!
Initiative again.
[22:35] <@Dracos> roll 1d10 get up there and put rat safely down, prepping for battle

> roll 1d10 FISHY

<Carthrat> Will that take a whole action from Drac?
Fish>AEsop getting Tch safe>Corwin>Aesop with a minor action if he wants.
As Aesop saves Tchaener, the fish reaches out of the water with it's arm, looking ot tear into his leg!
> roll 1d20
* Hatbot --> "Anastasia rolls 1d20 and gets 7." [1d20=7]
A miss, the fish creature starting to retreat back into the water!
Go ahead and prepare your action while I get Corwin's ready.

> roll 1d20
* Hatbot --> "Anastasia rolls 1d20 and gets 7." [1d20=7]
* Hatbot --> "Anastasia rolls 1d20 and gets 8." [1d20=8]
Corwin readies and fires two more arrows, but both miss again! No good, as Aesop gets ready! With Tchaener safe, he has a chance!
Aesop lashes out at the slippery fishman, but his blows come too slow after saving his dear friend Tsch and he smashes only the stone where it's lashing claw once was.
----
[22:43] <@Dracos> roll 1d20 I SMACK WITH MACE OF POWER. (time 1)
[22:43] * Hatbot --> "Dracos rolls 1d20 I SMACK WITH MACE OF POWER. (time 1) and gets 4." [1d20=4]
[22:43] <@Dracos> roll 1d20 I SMACK WITH MACE OF POWER. (time 2)
[22:43] * Hatbot --> "Dracos rolls 1d20 I SMACK WITH MACE OF POWER. (time 2) and gets 6." [1d20=6]
[22:43] <@Dracos> ;_;
[22:43] <@Dracos> My mace lacks power.
To this the fishman retreats back! Back and away, out of range and leaving you with the treasure!
Act.
Aesop stops to regroup and heal his comrades, calling upon zeus to aid him and Tsch.
---
[22:54] <@Dracos> Cure light wounds, once on me, once on Tch. Then resting with corwin as guard.
[22:54] <@Ghostasia> Okay, post that plan.
[22:54] <@Carthrat> I'm going to look at those scrolls before we rest.
[22:54] <@Dracos> roll 1d8 (+ anything?)
[22:54] * Hatbot --> "Dracos rolls 1d8 (+ anything?) and gets 3." [1d8=3]
[22:54] <@Dracos> You're unconscious already
[22:54] <@Dracos> roll 1d8 + anything
[22:54] * Hatbot --> "Dracos rolls 1d8 + anything and gets 8." [1d8=8]
[22:54] <@Carthrat> Perhaps the cure will wake me up?
[22:54] <@Dracos> and look, you got healed but good
[22:54] <@Ghostasia> It will
The healing stirs Tchaener, wakening him in his fever-poison nightmare. He's still burning up, but he's awake now.
Tchaener groggily picks himself up, taking stock of the situation.
"Did you kill it?" he asks, leaning on the pedestal, somewhat weakly. He peruses the two scrolls that he recalls from the time before...
There is a white potion, two scrolls, a two handed sword made of ebonyrock and a metal shield. The scrolls are of Cure Serious Wounds and Web, respectively.
Tchaener nods at the two-handed sword, before he plummets down to rest.
"We'd better stay here," he grouses. "Corwin, can you keep watch?"
"No, but I agree with you...Corwin and I will switch watches," Aesop picked up the shield to keep.
Dracos
Rest will go without incident. Recover up and spell up and all that. Poke me in #elysium if you wanna cast magic or whatever, then I'll move you along in a few regardless.
Tchaener casts Armour, fortifying himself against bad things!
So the party rests and recovers. While choked with jellyfish, there is no sign of your fishy foe lurking in the dark depths.
The poison from Aesop and Tch has worn off.
Making sure everything was collected, Aesop lead the way out through the jellyfish.
Dracos
Tchaener grabs the black two-handed sword and the web scroll. He tosses the potion to Corwin, and then follows Aesop through the water, new blade at the ready.
Corwin catches the potion and nods at Tchaener, bringing in the rear.
The way out of the jellyfish is...without incident! The fishman seems to have swum off for better pastures, the way out uncontested to the party!
"Well, that's a relief," muses Tchaener, pulling himself out the water.
"Now, Aesop, remember how the wands are bypassed? Just toss a darkness spell over them and the orb, close your eyes, grab it, and leave. It worked for me! It can work for you!"
"Zeus, blind the eyes of this trap!" Aesop cast darkness, following Tchaener's instructions to a tee.
Dracos
On entering, darkness spreads as Aesop commands! The wands and the orb are covered in pitch black, consumed.
Aesop gropes in for the crystal.
Dracos
With a brave effort Aesop reaches the crystal! It's cool and smooth in his hands, no signs of death rays of c ones of cold fragging him! Got it!
Aesop retreats back to where the mages were.
"Okay...so the rest of the plan is to unlock the door and hopefully encourage the kobolds out. In interest of that...let's rest and heal and make sure we're all at full strength for that bastard."
Dracos
[14:19] <@Drac-bleh> roll 1d8 me
[14:19] * Hatbot --> "Drac-bleh rolls 1d8 me and gets 1." [1d8=1]
[14:19] <@Drac-bleh> roll 1d8 me
[14:19] * Hatbot --> "Drac-bleh rolls 1d8 me and gets 2." [1d8=2]
[14:19] <@Drac-bleh> ...wow, my cure light spells suck
The party rests up, recovering from Aesop's magic. The door to the kobolds awaits when they are ready...
"Put the light ball out of sight," warns Tchaener, before turning back towards the door, and opening it!
Aesop has done so, staying behind the charismatic mage.
Dracos
So the kobolds await! All 12 of them, set up carefully and awaiting your return. "Shinies," Hector insists.
"You wanted a sword?" says Tchaener, reaching for his older blade. "Then, here! Have this, and a scroll, as well! See, the writing is very glossy compared to regular texts."
Charisma check with a -4 bonus.
[02:06] * Hatbot --> "Skye rolls 1d20-4 and gets -1." [1d20=3]
"Shiny!" The kobolds stroke and hold the sword of Tchaener reverently. Another few take the scroll and read it! "Not so shiny, but it's okay!" They say, Hector nodding amid them. "Go on, you pay the toll!"
"Let's carry on," states the warlord, heading towards the front door!
"We should cast all our spells and prepare ourselves, now, before heading through. I've already got mine on, but what about you, Aesop?"
"I'm good," Corwin says with a snort, following Tchaener out of the kobolds' domain.
Aesop nodded and started casting.
First Protection from Evil and then sanctuary on himself.
"I'm ready to go."
Dracos
Note Prot from Evil's duration for me?
On you go! Back to the main room, the door to the boss waiting for two jewels to unlock it!
Prot from Evil: 12 rounds, also protects hand to hand combat against extraplannars, Sanctuary lasts 6 rounds
Aesop unlocks the door, leading into the room.
Dracos
Corwin nocks an arrow, ready to follow!
The candle lit, burnign room awaits! "You're back?" Ezerickal is there, laughing as he drops into a ready stance. "I'll tear you apart, foolish mortals!"
Set yourself up, roll initiative.
"By Zeus, you take far too much joy in this. What about the second floor?" Aesop simply walked towards him, nervous but seeing how well this spell would last as he performed no hostile action while almost simultaneously presenting a target.
OOC: Forgoing initiative. Not attacking this turn.
[10:36] * Hatbot --> "Carthrat rolls 1d10+1 initiative and gets 7." [1d10=6]
Tchaener doesn't waste words, instantly beginning to cast a potent, strength-draining spell!
Rat, if Corwin lives right now, poke him for a post of action?
Corwin blinks at Ezerickal, before letting his arrow fly, aiming at the evil creature's forehead.
[19:18] <Elle> roll 1d20 vs THAC0 of 15

* Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d10 and gets 9." [1d10=9]
Rat>Corwin>Baddie)
The arrow embeds into his arm, a pointed, bloody messeger of Corwin! Your black armored nemesis is barely phased, beginning to move!
Rat
The black beam shoots forth from Tchaener's outstreched hand, swirling around their nemesis with cold intent!
OOC: Ray of Enfeeblement GO
Rat, go ahead and roll a save throw for the baddie and post it for me.
[10:54] * Hatbot --> "Carthrat rolls 1d20 and gets 8." [1d20=8]
The wilting beam of crippling feebleness melts into his armor! It seems to slow him, his equipment heavier!
"You...ugh...bastard!" He rasps, suddenly weighed down by his armor!
Corwin
[12:52] * Hatbot --> "Carthrat rolls 1d20 and gets 17." [1d20=17] Second Shot!
[12:56] * Hatbot --> "Carthrat rolls 1d8 and gets 4." [1d8=4]
The arrow finds a gap in his armor, sticking out of his elbow like a porcupine quill! As more blood flows, her roars and charges!
> roll 1d20
* Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d20 and gets 13." [1d20=13]
..and he goes right past Aesop, hobbling in his now heavy armor and attempting to punch out Tchaener! "You arrogant mortal bastard," he rasps, fists doing his talking!
* Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d20 and gets 10." [1d20=10]
> roll 1d20
* Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d20 and gets 15." [1d20=15]
> AC, Tch, by the by?
<Carthrat> A mighty 6
> One hit.
> roll 1d4-2
* Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d4-2 and gets 1." [1d4=3]
The blow is feeble and weak! It barely even hurts the mighty warlord! "Damn you!" He howls, shaking his fist in broken pain! Was the effort of punching too much?
React/initiative.
[13:10] * Hatbot --> "Carthrat rolls 1d10+9 and gets 17." [1d10=8]
"Your defeat was always inevitable," snorts Tchaener, bringing his enormous, black-bladed sword to bear.
[13:19] * Hatbot --> "Carthrat rolls 1d10+7 and gets 12." [1d10=5] Aesop
[13:19] * Hatbot --> "Carthrat rolls 1d10+6 and gets 8." [1d10=2] Corwin
> roll 1d10
* Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d10 and gets 10." [1d10=10]
Corwin, Aesop, Baddie, Rat.
"It's payback, bitch," Corwin growls at their adversary, an arrow ready and aimed at him. "Get shafted!"
[22:04] <Elle> roll 1d20+4 shaftage
[22:04] * Hatbot --> "Elle rolls 1d20+4 shaftage and gets 8." [1d20=4]
Sadly, Corwin's well aimed arrow is utterly errant! It flies by and hits a candlebra, clattering to the floor in a failed heap!
Aesop is up.
Aesop turned and promptly took advantage of the man's backside, swinging his mace hard. "Come now, pay attention!"
---
[15:08] <Drac-hereasecond> roll 1d20 versus thaco 15 strike one
[15:08] * Hatbot --> "Drac-hereasecond rolls 1d20 versus thaco 15 strike one and gets 11." [1d20=11]
[15:08] <Drac-hereasecond> roll 1d20 versus thaco 15 strike two
[15:08] * Hatbot --> "Drac-hereasecond rolls 1d20 versus thaco 15 strike two and gets 2." [1d20=2]
So attacking, the Sanctuary spell is shattered! But further, both attacks miss and fail! Blinking at him, your now angry foe roars, "I'll rip you apart for this! No one makes a fool of me! No one!"
roll 1d20
> roll 1d20
* Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d20 and gets 7." [1d20=7]
* Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d20 and gets 18." [1d20=18]
> roll 1d4-2
* Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d4-2 and gets 2." [
The punch slightly winds Aesop, a powerful blow to his sternum! But not nearly as much as it could be, a weak volley compared to the rest!
"It is certain you were born that way," agrees Tchaener, enormous obsidian-tinged sword cleaving towards the crippled warden's body!
[17:28] * Hatbot --> "Carthrat rolls 1d20 and gets 18." [1d20=18]
[17:28] * Hatbot --> "Carthrat rolls 1d20 and gets 20." [1d20=20]
[17:28] <@Carthrat> roll 1d20
[17:28] * Hatbot --> "Carthrat rolls 1d20 and gets 10." [1d20=10]
Does he count as a large target? His ACs -2, -4, and the crit confirmation hit 6, before whatever mods for flanking and the weapons enchantment.
[01:00] * Hatbot --> "Carthrat rolls 1d10+5 and gets 14." [1d10=9]
[01:00] * Hatbot --> "Carthrat rolls 1d10+5 and gets 8." [1d10=3]
The obsidian blade of Tchaener comes down like a vengeful retribution from the gods! The blow severs your warden side in twain, blood coming like a festival!
"You..." Any further words are lost, as his body takes to the air! His hands begin to glow brightly, words of magic tumbling forth!

Go Corwin
Corwin pulls out a pair of arrows, nocking them alongside one another, and snorts at his nemesis in scorn. "Float all you want, little man inside big man body. Your death knell is to be music to my ears!"
And then, there were the actual rolls.
[20:52] <Elle> roll 1d20 vs 15 the first!
[20:52] * Hatbot --> "Elle rolls 1d20 vs 15 the first! and gets 2." [1d20=2]

[20:53] * Hatbot --> "Elle rolls 1d20 vs 15 the second! and gets 5." [1d20=5]
Two arrows, two misses! They whizz by his sides in rapid fire, both errant and embedding into the floor in lazy arches! AS he is missed, "Be ruined!" The air around you wiggles and squiggles, turning into molten mass! You feel like you're trying to be weighed down, slowed!
OOC: Saves vs spell. I'll roll for Rat since he's asleep.
This day, it does not seem to be mine.
[21:10] <Elle> roll 1d20 vs 14

HE IS MINE
> roll 1d20
* Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d20 and gets 12." [1d20=12]
Rat just failed his save.
The magic weaves and binds! Corwin and Tchaener are slowed, movements reduced to a crawl!
Slowed creatures have an Armor Class penalty of +4 AC, an attack penalty of -4, and all Dexterity combat bonuses are negated.
Aesop go.
Aesop swings again, his mace bashing off the armor, too slow to save his friends. "Zeus shall not let you win again!"

"Zeus? Nothing but a hairless old withered fool! No God stands against the dark one! Not even a Mistress of War with delusions of granduer!" So he starts to drift back, the candles around him flaring up into peaking flames!

[08:58] * Hatbot --> "Carthrat rolls 1d10+5 and gets 12." [1d10=7]
Tchaener's greatsword twists, and thrusts forwards towards the airborne fool!
"Who is truly deluded?"
With a ripping blow that severs his legs foe's legs apart, Tchaener successfully strikes! With a flash of black light he falls to his knees, shimmering in light!
"Ugh! This is only a fragment of my power! Next time...you will burn alive in my glory!" With that he is gone, the way unbarred!
Tchaener resheaths his sword... slowly.
"What a pathetic creature," he snorts. "Can he not comprehend his inevitable defeat, no matter how many times he tries? Is his indignation some kinda of farce?"
He starts stalking ahead, towards... freedom?
Aesop, unslowed, checked for anything left behind before bounding up the stairs.

Congratulations, floor 1 is clear!
The second result for the kobold room was delayed as I realised I lost a book I needed for it. EDIT: Nevermind, Eb to the rescue. Thanks. I'll add it to the races topic.
Congratulations!
Each surviving PC gets to choose a reward from this list! Since all three PCs are alive, each gets a choice.
1. Unlock and allow multiclassing in character generation. The EXP pool is split evenly amid your classes.
