[15:02] <Ebiris> Leaving behind the not so forgotten temple of ancient Netheril, the party descends from the snowy peaks back down to the slightly more temperate valley below, and the long road between Silverymoon and Sundabar. Heading West towards the former, the loot-burdened group journey over the quiet road towards the metropolis about a week's travel away...
[15:03] * Varul takes point, keeping a typical burly fighter guard out in case trouble comes knocking.
[15:03] <Alveria> "...and that's what Ignan is such an awesome langauge," pronunces Alveria. "You see, every word in it is actually a word for 'fire' or 'burning' or something in some OTHER langauge. It DOES make it hard to keep up, sometimes..."
[15:05] * Gourash stays near the front as well, vaguely nodding along with Alveria. Not really contributing to the conversation though as he never liked language much.
[15:09] <Ebiris> OOC: Spot checks, zomg!
[15:09] <Alveria> OOC: One day, it'll be us setting the ambush...
[15:09] <Alveria> roll 1d20+3
[15:09] * Hatbot --> "Alveria rolls 1d20+3 and gets 17." [1d20=14]
[15:10] <Varul> roll 1d20+2
[15:10] * Hatbot --> "Varul rolls 1d20+2 and gets 8." [1d20=6]
[15:10] <Alveria> roll 1d20+5 for Amonet
[15:10] * Hatbot --> "Alveria rolls 1d20+5 for Amonet and gets 19." [1d20=14]
[15:10] <Gourash> roll 1d20+1
[15:10] * Hatbot --> "Gourash rolls 1d20+1 and gets 4." [1d20=3]
[15:11] -> *Alveria* Glancing behind you a moment, you can see a humanoid figure trailing the party about two hundred feet or so back. He or she is dressed in greens and browns to blend in with the environment, although you catch a glint of metal armour as they make their way through the sparse trees and scrub next to the road.
[15:11] -> *Amonet* Glancing behind you a moment, you can see a humanoid figure trailing the party about two hundred feet or so back. He or she is dressed in greens and browns to blend in with the environment, although you catch a glint of metal armour as they make their way through the sparse trees and scrub next to the road.
[15:13] <Aramas> roll d20
[15:13] * Hatbot --> "Aramas rolls d20 and gets 6." [d20=6]
[15:13] <Alveria> "...see, if you were to say "There's Some Guy Following Us Right Now, Just Over There," continues Alveria, glancing behind her, "You'd say ala'k nivanta burnan infernum lestrat," she continues. "Oh, and there really is, too, about two-hundred feet back- remember, that's 'lelmavnin stiar'."
[15:14] * Gourash blinks, moving his hand to his axe in readiness.
[15:14] <Varul> Varul cautiously readies his weapon, just in case. Great.
[15:15] * Aramas keeps his power on the edge of his call, just in case..
[15:16] <Alveria> "Geez, you all look so WORRIED," mumbles Alveria. "Let's go talk to him!"
[15:17] <Amonet> "Yes, friend Alveria!" Amonet agrees emphatically.
[15:17] <Ebiris> As the party prepares, the figure continues to approach, perhaps not as stealthily as they might like, however!
[15:18] * Gourash shrugs. "Too much talking," grunts, but not disputing further.
[15:18] <Alveria> "Hey, you, whaddya want?" yells Alveria, cheerfully.
[15:19] <Ebiris> There's a hesitation, before a figure emerges from the trees beside the road. She's a human in a green cloak, wearing brown pants and a somewhat beaten up chain shirt. A longbow lays strapped over her back and she holds up her hands as she approaches. "Good eyes," she comments grudgingly.
[15:20] <Alveria> "Thanks! They're one of my favourite things!" replies Alveria. "Er, two."
[15:21] <Amonet> "What is the cause for your stealthiness, friend?" Amonet calls out to her, tilting her head.
[15:23] <Varul> Varul just stays ready, not feeling particularly talktive, and keeping a general watch.
[15:23] <Ebiris> "I was planning on approaching you when you stopped, but I guess now is as good a time as any," the girl drawls - she barely looks older than Amonet, actually. Little more than a teenager if the lines of her face are any indication. "Name's Linda Greendsper, and... to be honest, I need help. I saw you pass a few miles back, and - well, you're adventurers, right?"
[15:23] * Gourash appraises her with his ugly mug, considering whether she looked like she had more trouble with her they hadn't seen..before discounting it, too young and not fierce enough.
[15:24] <Amonet> "You are correct, friend Linda!" Amonet responds cheerfully.
[15:24] <Alveria> "Good lord, no! I'm a scholar! My looting through old ruins with fabulous riches.. er... um..."
[15:25] <Aramas> "And if we are, what help would you need our help for?"
[15:27] <Ebiris> She nods slowly as she approaches, letting her hands drop. "Well, cut a long story short - I'm from a village back there," she thumbs the road behind her, "Quiet place, normally, but a group of my friends and family were abducted by gnolls yesterday."
[15:27] <Ebiris> She spits openly at the ground, "A runner's been sent to Sundabar, but there's no telling when help will arrive, so when I saw you, I'd hoped..." she trails off a moment, looking up at the party ever so hopefully.
[15:29] <Aramas> "How many Gnolls?"
[15:29] <Amonet> "Your cause sounds just!" Amonet exclaims. "Friends," she says, turning around to look at her companions, "we simply cannot let this pass!"
[15:29] <Gourash> "How much is the pay?" Gourash, wondered, not quite as gungho as his companions.
[15:30] <Alveria> "Yes! We cannot let an opportunity to try out my newest spell go by! Oh, and I guess there's the gnolls and family and all that, too."
[15:31] <Ebiris> "There's a tribe that live in a half ruined old fort up there," she gestures up at the hills to the North. "Don't know how many's in there to be honest, but there were eight in the group that raided the fields." She sighs, "They've never done anything besides steal livestock before... I can't pay much," she looks up at Gourash, "But I bet they've got lots of ill gotten gains for the taking!"
[15:33] <Alveria> "We're filthy rich, anyway, so it shouldn't be a problem," says Alveria, dismissively. "Can you take us up there? I'm ready to go right now!"
[15:33] <Aramas> "Is anyone besides me worried about the 'entire tribe' part? The part where we could be outnumbered five to one?"
[15:33] <Gourash> "Mmm," Gourash rubbed his  chin.  Guess this is how they get there profits in adventuring anyway and it'd worked out so far.
[15:34] <Amonet> "The way of the just is fraught with peril!" Amonet tells Aramas, nodding her head.
[15:34] <Gourash> "I can take five gnolls," Gourash shrugged.  "Can't you?"
[15:34] <Alveria> "You can? Awesome! I can't wait to watch!"
[15:34] * Gourash eyes the cheery spellcaster. "Weren't we going now?"
[15:34] <Ebiris> "Really?" her eyes shine brightly with hope, "I'd be in your debt forever!" she nods quickly, "I know my way around these hills, so I can get us there, and I'm a pretty good shot with the bow, so don't think I won't sit by while you do all the work to rescue everyone!"
[15:35] * Aramas grunts.
[15:35] <Aramas> "I suppose I have no objection, then."
[15:36] <Alveria> "Ok. Let's go, before they eat your family!"
[15:37] <Ebiris> "Great, follow me!" Linda nods ecstatically. "The fort's up in the hills like I said - the only real easy way in is a narrow pass from the South, though. We might be able to climb around and get in from the North, but not with those horses."
[15:37] <Alveria> "
[15:38] <Alveria> "How hard is the climb?"
[15:39] <Ebiris> "It's not impossible," Linda shakes her head, "There are goats up there and all. But I've never seen a horse that could manage it."
[15:39] <Gourash> "I'm for the north.  A narrow pass sounds like an ambush waiting to happen."
[15:41] <Aramas> "Indeed. I don't look forward to the climb, but I look forward to an ambush even less."
[15:42] <Alveria> "The horses won't do us much good anyway, so I guess I can stomach the idea of... physical effort."
[15:42] * Alveria looks a little green.
[15:43] <Ebiris> "It'll get you warmed up for the battle at least, right?" Linda asks brightly, already starting to lead you off the beaten path and to the North.
[15:43] * Gourash follows. "Is there a good place to hide our horses?"
[15:43] <Alveria> "Warm! Yes! That's a good thing!" replies Alveria, starting to walk after Linda.
[15:43] <Alveria> *ride
[15:45] <Ebiris> "Hmm..." Linda looks thoughtful. "Not sure. I mean, I know lots of caves and clearings and all that, but you never know when a wolf could come looking for food, y'know? Could leave them back at the village, maybe?"
[15:46] <Alveria> "Ok!"
[15:48] <Gourash> "That works,"  Gourash nodded.
[15:49] <Ebiris> "Okay! Let's go!" Linda agrees, leading you at a rapid clip back the way you came for a few miles, before she takes a dirt path to the North you ignored when passing by earlier in the day. "Welcome to Godrick's Hollow," she pronounces after a bit as you come across a rustic collection of shacks and fields.
[15:51] <Ebiris> No one seems to be about, not even in the fields, although Linda marches right up to one of the doors and bangs on it. "Dad! Dad!" she yells, before a middle aged and somewhat frail looking man comes out.
[15:51] <Ebiris> "Linda! Where have you been - I've been worried sick, what if something happened to you like your mother?!" he wails.
[15:52] <Ebiris> "I've got some people who're going to help me get Mom back - look after their horses, will you?" the girl replies, pushing him back a bit as he tries to grab onto him.
[15:52] <Ebiris> onto her*
[15:54] * Gourash grunts at the older man.
[15:54] <Ebiris> Mr Greendsper blinks owlishly at that before looking up to regard the party. If anything he looks even more frightened, though. "You're going to get killed by those savages, just like my dearly departed wife!" he cries brokenly.
[15:54] <Ebiris> Linda just looks disgusted by the whole thing. "Whatever, just look after the damn horses, alright? We'll be back with Mom and everyone else in a day or two."
[15:56] * Gourash spits at the man's feet and moves past the disgusting display. "Hurry up."
[15:56] <Ebiris> Getting away from her clingy parent, Linda rejoins the group, "I know..." she mutters to the unspoken question. "He's just excitable, okay? Anyway, you can leave your horses here and they'll be safe, I guess. Let's get moving!"
[15:57] * Varul merely shakes his head, quietly resolving and going on at those words.
[15:57] * Alveria leaves her horse here!
[15:58] * Amonet asks her horse nicely to wait for her glorious return with a horse treat or two.
[16:00] * Gourash does so and heads off after her.
[16:01] <Ebiris> Horses left behind, the party sets off into the hills! There's no clearly defined trail, but Linda seems to know her way around, occassionally pointing out animals before anyone else even sees them. Luckily none seem hungry enough to attack the group of heavily armed humanoids, and the journey passes without note until the hills begin to get more steep.
[16:01] <Ebiris> "There's the valley over there," Linda points to the West from the bluff you're currently upon, a winding path visible snaking upwards to a crumbling stone fortress atop its own large outcropping of rock. Ahead of you lies an almost vertical precipice twenty feet high, "There's a way around this to the East, but it'd be quicker to climb - you up for it?" she asks.
[16:02] <Varul> "I know how to climb," VArul can't help but smile a bit, "No problem."
[16:04] * Gourash nods. "I can take it."
[16:04] <Alveria> "Good thing we've still got these neat boots!"
[16:05] * Gourash rubs his hands together and starts a-climbing.
[16:05] <Gourash> "I'll check the top."
[16:05] <Ebiris> Linda nods and smiles, starting to clamber up herself alongside Gourash.
[16:05] <Gourash> roll 1d20+7 climb
[16:05] * Hatbot --> "Gourash rolls 1d20+7 climb and gets 27." [1d20=20]
[16:07] <Varul> roll 1d20+12
[16:07] * Hatbot --> "Varul rolls 1d20+12 and gets 31." [1d20=19]
[16:07] <Ebiris> Gourash is practically like a spider as he skitters up without pausing, already pulling himself over the top before Linda is halfway up! On this new precipice he can see the mountain begins to slope up more vertically to the North, and while there's no clear path towards the fortress to the West, it is theoretically reachable.
[16:07] <Ebiris> Varul likewise overtakes Linda to reach the top, the poor ranger looking a bit put out as she finally pulls herself up.
[16:08] * Alveria tosses the boots to Amonet, and waits for her to toss them back down!
[16:09] <Varul> "Told you," Varul offers a hand up as the rangergirl reaches the top.
[16:09] <Ebiris> "Now if we circle around that way," Linda gestures to the Northwest after accepting Varul's hand up, "We can come down the other side and get into the fort from that side." She squints a bit as she looks into the distance before frowning, "Bah, can't really see in there from here, though."
[16:10] * Amonet slowly raises to the top, using the boots.
[16:10] <Ebiris> Aramas does the same after the boots are passed down again!
[16:12] <Ebiris> "Okay, everyone ready to keep going?" Linda asks brightly, dusting her hands off and starting along the rocky precipice.
[16:12] <Alveria> "Better carry on, then," pronounces Alveria. "We'll take a better look when we're closer. Hell, we might be able to blast some from here..."
[16:12] <Varul> "Ready," Varul nods, ready go on.
[16:12] * Alveria steals the boots back of Aramas before the party goes on!
[16:13] * Gourash examines the terrain, considering the best route (Survival?)
[16:13] <Ebiris> OOC: go for it
[16:13] <Gourash> roll 1d20+9
[16:13] * Hatbot --> "Gourash rolls 1d20+9 and gets 19." [1d20=10]
[16:22] <Gourash> "Wait," Gourash pointed at along a craggy path down towards the fort that looked a bit dangerous, "I think we could get there faster that way,"
[16:23] <Alveria> "Ok."
[16:23] <Ebiris> Linda stops a moment, following Gourashes direction. "Hmm..." she frowns, eyes tracking over the rocks, "You might be right," she agrees, smiling. "Could be a bit tricky, but nothing we can't handle, right?"
[16:24] * Gourash nods and leads the way from there, urging quick passage to avoid being noticed by any Gnoll sentries.
[16:26] <Ebiris> The path starts off simple enough, if a bit awkwardly sloped, but before long the slant becomes unbearable and the party is forced to climb up onto a ledge hugging the near vertical cliff face above and below. It's just barely wide enough to walk along...
[16:29] <Ebiris> The ridge seems to extend for perhaps five hundred feet before merging into a more gently sloping path that winds down towards the fortress. There are a few gaps in it, however...
[16:29] * Gourash leads the way, hugging to the wall and using his climbing skills to keep a hold as he goes.
[16:30] * Alveria floats up alongside the wall, peeking over the top!
[16:30] <Ebiris> Linda follows behind Gourash, likewise hugging the wall. "At least it's not wet or windy?" she offers lightly.
[16:30] * Varul keeps going, carefully hugging the wall. "Good thing," he mutters.
[16:32] <Ebiris> Ascending up about fifty feet, Alveria finds a plateau with some sparse grass upon it above the cliff-face. There's another cliff, albeit not as steeply vertical and more cragged, about twenty feet from her. And what looks like a cave to the Nortwest maybe a third of the way along.
[16:33] * Gourash leads the way, occassionally using rope to help the others along.
[16:34] * Alveria walks along the top, keeping a loose eye out for gnolls or giants or something along those lines while enjoying the feeling of superiority being 50 feet above everyone else gives.
[16:34] * Varul keeps going, doing the same to make sure there hopefuly aren't any stupid accidents.
[16:35] <Ebiris> The first few gaps are quite easily covered by the group, little more than big steps, really. However, about halfway there, the ledge narrows even further before terminating, and a five foot gap looms before where it resumes. An easy jump normally, but these are not normal circumstances...
[16:37] <Ebiris> Aside from a mountain goat, Alveria finds herself alone on the higher level. The animal bleats grumpily at her but seems content enough chewing on the sparse grass dotted around.
[16:37] <Varul> "Damn," Varul breaths out, looking up to the levitating crazy elf. "I think I can make that, but what about the others?"
[16:37] * Alveria floats down! "Here, pass me the rope, I'll tie it to something over here, and then you can just swing across."
[16:39] * Gourash tosses a rope end to Alveria and follows her plan!
[16:40] * Alveria instigates her rope-based plan of 'help people without snazzy boots navigate cliff!'
[16:41] <Ebiris> There's a few outcroppings on the cliff face that might suffice?
[16:44] * Alveria carefully ties a knot on the other side of the jump, and then tests it herself by trying to get across as if she wasn't levitating!
[16:45] <Ebiris> OOC: climb check
[16:46] * Varul watches idly wondering if the boots will hold out if Alveria falls entirely.
[16:46] <Alveria> OOC: Can I take 10 and have someone take 10 on an aid another check, bringing my score to... 10?
[16:46] <Ebiris> OOC: Ask someone to hold your hand, then. <_<
[16:47] <Alveria> roll 1d20-2 why
[16:47] * Hatbot --> "Alveria rolls 1d20-2 why and gets 11." [1d20=13]
[16:48] <Ebiris> It's not too hard - the cliff face provides ample handholds, and with the rope to assist as well, Alveria gets to the other side with a minimum of fuss.
[16:48] <Alveria> "It works! This has the official Calhadre Stamp of... Workingness!"
[16:48] * Gourash follows, waving the others afterwards.
[16:48] <Gourash> roll 1d20+10
[16:48] * Hatbot --> "Gourash rolls 1d20+10 and gets 12." [1d20=2]
[16:48] <Amonet> "Glorious!" Amonet rejoices at Alveria's awe-inspiring feat.
[16:49] * Varul goes third, assuming Gourash doesn't have any crippling mistakes or horiffic falls t his doom.
[16:49] <Ebiris> Gourash makes it across!
[16:49] <Varul> roll 1d20+7
[16:49] * Hatbot --> "Varul rolls 1d20+7 and gets 18." [1d20=11]
[16:50] <Ebiris> As does Varul! Linda follows (NPC takes 10) and offers a hand to help Amonet and Aramas across.
[16:50] <Ebiris> roll 1d20+5
[16:50] * Hatbot --> "Ebiris rolls 1d20+5 and gets 16." [1d20=11]
[16:51] * Alveria returns to her high-floating position!
[16:51] * Gourash continues on once everyone is across~
[16:52] <Ebiris> Soon enough the party continues, able to pass successive gaps with much the same technique and success rate before they finally find themselves on more stable ground, just a path winding down to the North wall of the fortress. It's crumbling and there's a few gaps in it visible even from here, fortunately.
[16:53] <Ebiris> Linda peers down from this elevated vantage point to look into the courtyard of the structure.
[16:53] <Ebiris> roll 1d20+6
[16:53] * Hatbot --> "Ebiris rolls 1d20+6 and gets 11." [1d20=5]
[16:53] * Alveria ALSO looks down.
[16:53] <Ebiris> "Hmm... can't see anything from here," the ranger complains.
[16:53] * Varul looks up and around, bucking the trend.
[16:53] <Ebiris> OOC: spot checks if you're looking
[16:54] <Alveria> roll 1d20+3
[16:54] * Hatbot --> "Alveria rolls 1d20+3 and gets 10." [1d20=7]
[16:54] <Amonet> roll 1d20+5 always!
[16:54] * Hatbot --> "Amonet rolls 1d20+5 always! and gets 25." [1d20=20]
[16:54] <Ebiris> roll 1d20+1
[16:54] * Hatbot --> "Ebiris rolls 1d20+1 and gets 15." [1d20=14]
[16:55] * Gourash examines any cover on the route to the fortress wall.
[16:57] <Ebiris> There's not much cover, really. Vegetation up here is extremely sparse, and the few rocky outcroppings dotted about don't provide consistent enough cover, really.
[16:59] <Varul> roll 1d20+2
[16:59] * Hatbot --> "Varul rolls 1d20+2 and gets 10." [1d20=8]
[17:00] <Ebiris> Aside from Amonet, no one else can really make much out from this distance...
[17:00] <Amonet> "There is something strange, friends," Amonet announces quietly, peering at the fortress. "The gnolls I see appear subdued, as if they were prisoners alongside the humans, and carry no weapons or armor. There are guards, yes, but they do not appear to be gnolls themselves."
[17:01] <Ebiris> "What?" Linda looks surprised. "What could be going on, then?"
[17:01] <Amonet> "How many of your village were taken, friend Linda?" Amonet asks her.
[17:02] * Gourash blinks. "What are they?"
[17:02] <Ebiris> "Ten," the girl replies bitterly.
[17:03] <Amonet> "That accounts for the humans I see, yes," Amonet says, nodding to herself. "As for the guards," she responds to Gourash, "I cannot determine their nature beyond them being humanoid, but there are two on each battlement, and three more in the courtyard amongst the prisoners, maybe more."
[17:03] * Varul blinks at that, "...it means something is going on, or we're about to get played."
[17:04] <Ebiris> "Maybe... no, no way any help from Sundabar could have gotten here before us!" Linda shakes her head vehemently. "Who could it be, then?"
[17:04] <Alveria> "If only Serene was still here! But we don't really have a way to get close enough to take a good look without being seen..." murmurs Alveria.
[17:07] * Dracos shrugs. "Let's go on anyway. We intended to pillage whoever was there to begin with."
[17:07] <Amonet> "Perhaps we should approach them and attempt to find out the present state of affairs face to face?" Amonet suggests. "These may not be our enemies!"
[17:07] <Alveria> "No, that's stupid."
[17:08] <Ebiris> "Well, if they're keeping the villagers prisoner along with the gnolls, they can't be too nice, I guess?" Linda hazards.
[17:08] <Alveria> "SOMEONE there is doing something bad, and they're kidnapping people! We should probably blow up everyone who looks to be in charge, and ask questions later."
[17:08] <Varul> "Be nice if we could figure out what's going on before we charge in, but..." Varul shrugs, not really having anything mroe to say on THAT. Not after last time, anyway.
[17:09] <Alveria> "I mean, I'd be all for talking if I thought they'd want to talk back," clarifies Alveria.
[17:09] <Dracos> "Works for me," Gourash gets his axe ready, looking for the quickest way to enter.
[17:10] <Ebiris> The path winds down before widening out onto the plateau holding the fortress. It's pretty straightforward from here...
[17:11] <Alveria> "You know, though, maybe we could wait and watch," considers Alveria. "From here, we can see what's going on in the courtyard, right? When a group comes out, we could waylay them at that mountain pass.."
[17:13] * Gourash shrugs, not finding much wrong with that plan either and eyes the others.
[17:13] <Ebiris> "I suppose..." Linda acquieses, "I mean, so long as they're not hurting the prisoners, we can afford to wait?"
[17:13] <Alveria> "If they start doing that, then we know for sure what we must do," affirms Alveria.
[17:14] <Gourash> "kill them and loot?"
[17:15] <Alveria> "Yes, yes, we don't need the details."
[17:21] <Amonet> "Something is happening," Amonet tells the others some twenty minutes later, observing one of the battlements.
[17:21] <Alveria> "Maybe we should've got closer..."
[17:22] <Gourash> "Something is awfully vague."
[17:23] <Alveria> "Let us un-vague it by getting closer," replies Alveria, starting to do just that.
[17:24] <Amonet> "Oh no!" Amonet gasps, horrified. "They are trying to execute the humans! We must go and save them, immediately!"
[17:24] <Varul> Varuly carefully follows, taking the hint and walking along. He grunts once, "...oh yeah, guessi t's go time, then?"
[17:25] <Alveria> "That is very bad!" pronounes Alveria, casting Mirror Image (extended!) upon herself!
[17:25] <Ebiris> "What?!" Linda cries, horrified. "We have to hurry, that's my Mom down there!" she yells, before starting to race down the path towards the fort!
[17:25] <Alveria> roll 1d4+1 duration 10 minutes
[17:25] * Hatbot --> "Alveria rolls 1d4+1 duration 10 minutes and gets 5." [1d4=4]
[17:25] * Gourash shrugs and leads the charge down there, full run!
[17:26] * Alveria continues to run forward, gauging range until she figures she can levitate up and start slinging fireballs into the courtyard! (640ft range)
[17:26] <Alveria> Oh, and when she thinks she can see things, too.
[17:26] * Alveria ALSO casts message upon the party.
[17:27] <Amonet> "Their leader, he wears ornate armor and wields a greatsword," Amonet gasps through the Message, running along with the others.
[17:27] * Varul follows along, "Mmmm. A greatsword, eh," Varul mutters, tigthening the grasp on his own.
[17:28] <Alveria> "Swords, pfft," mutters Alveria, as all six of her run closer!
[17:28] <Ebiris> Alveria starts to levitate herself up when halfway there, the path now taking everyone else below the top of the fortress wall as it winds down towards the crumbling edifice, plenty of access points visible in the ruined structure.
[17:28] <Ebiris> OOC: spot check, Alvie
[17:28] <Alveria> roll 1d20+3 :(
[17:28] * Hatbot --> "Alveria rolls 1d20+3 :( and gets 20." [1d20=17]
[17:30] <Ebiris> Alveria can see, now! There's three figures on the battlements - humans or elves or half-elves, she can't really tell, all in ornately stylised armour and carrying longbows. She can see the prisoners Amonet mentioned, as well as another armoured figure holding a greatsword and standing over a fallen human about ten feet from them. There seems to be at least six more that she can see lurking around the outskirts of the courtyard as well.
[17:32] * Alveria starts rapidly sketching red-blazing runes in the air, a series of flaming glyphs appearing briefling in front of her! Vanishing with a faint pop, she's rewarded for her efforts with a tiny bead appearing in one hand, which she sends speeding towards the two hapless figures on the battlements!
[17:32] <Ebiris> OOC: initiative
[17:32] <Alveria> roll 6d6 reflex 19 oh yeah there's like 6 flying elves in the air, now, they gotta see that
[17:32] * Hatbot --> "Alveria rolls 6d6 reflex 19 oh yeah there's like 6 flying elves in the air, now, they gotta see that and gets 25." [6d6=3, 5, 6, 4, 4, 3]
[17:32] <Varul> roll 1d20+6
[17:32] * Hatbot --> "Varul rolls 1d20+6 and gets 23." [1d20=17]
[17:32] <Ebiris> roll 1d20+4 leader
[17:32] * Hatbot --> "Ebiris rolls 1d20+4 leader and gets 23." [1d20=19]
[17:32] <Amonet> roll 1d20
[17:32] * Hatbot --> "Amonet rolls 1d20 and gets 18." [1d20=18]
[17:32] <Ebiris> roll 1d20+3 archer 1
[17:32] * Hatbot --> "Ebiris rolls 1d20+3 archer 1 and gets 13." [1d20=10]
[17:33] <Ebiris> roll 1d20+3 archer 2
[17:33] * Hatbot --> "Ebiris rolls 1d20+3 archer 2 and gets 16." [1d20=13]
[17:33] <Ebiris> roll 1d20+3 archer 3
[17:33] * Hatbot --> "Ebiris rolls 1d20+3 archer 3 and gets 9." [1d20=6]
[17:33] <Gourash> roll 1d20+1 I shall continue on~
[17:33] * Hatbot --> "Gourash rolls 1d20+1 I shall continue on~ and gets 19." [1d20=18]
[17:34] <Ebiris> roll 1d20+3 fighter 1
[17:34] * Hatbot --> "Ebiris rolls 1d20+3 fighter 1 and gets 8." [1d20=5]
[17:34] <Alveria> roll 1d20+5 oh yeah
[17:34] * Hatbot --> "Alveria rolls 1d20+5 oh yeah and gets 16." [1d20=11]
[17:34] <Ebiris> roll 1d20+3 fighter 2
[17:34] * Hatbot --> "Ebiris rolls 1d20+3 fighter 2 and gets 14." [1d20=11]
[17:34] <Ebiris> roll 1d20+3 fighter 3
[17:34] * Hatbot --> "Ebiris rolls 1d20+3 fighter 3 and gets 9." [1d20=6]
[17:34] <Ebiris> roll 1d20+3 fighter 4
[17:34] * Hatbot --> "Ebiris rolls 1d20+3 fighter 4 and gets 13." [1d20=10]
[17:34] <Ebiris> roll 1d20+3 fighter 5
[17:34] * Hatbot --> "Ebiris rolls 1d20+3 fighter 5 and gets 11." [1d20=8]
[17:34] <Ebiris> roll 1d20+3 fighter 6
[17:34] * Hatbot --> "Ebiris rolls 1d20+3 fighter 6 and gets 18." [1d20=15]
[17:38] <Ebiris> roll 1d20+4 Linda
[17:38] * Hatbot --> "Ebiris rolls 1d20+4 Linda and gets 6." [1d20=2]
[17:38] <Ebiris> roll 1d20+2 Aramas
[17:38] * Hatbot --> "Ebiris rolls 1d20+2 Aramas and gets 11." [1d20=9]
[17:42] <Ebiris> Alveria can see plenty of eyes on her as she ascends, one of the archers standing up and drawing his bow to shoot at the floating elf just as she launches her fireball!
[17:42] <Ebiris> roll 1d20+4
[17:42] * Hatbot --> "Ebiris rolls 1d20+4 and gets 8." [1d20=4]
[17:42] <Alveria> OOC: doesn't even hit an image! win
[17:42] <Ebiris> roll 1d20+4
[17:42] * Hatbot --> "Ebiris rolls 1d20+4 and gets 15." [1d20=11]
[17:42] <Ebiris> roll 1d20+4
[17:42] * Hatbot --> "Ebiris rolls 1d20+4 and gets 16." [1d20=12]
[17:43] <Ebiris> The arrow misses, falling well short of her, just as the fiery conflagration ignites atop the battlements, consuming both him and his comrade in terrible flames!
[17:46] <Amonet> "To kill a helpless person is evil and cruel! Come, friends, and take heart in the righteousness of our cause! Let us punish our vile enemy in the name of Horus-Re!"
[17:47] <Ebiris> As the others in the courtyard run around and ready themselves for combat, the last archer pops up, deciding to ignore the distant and floating elf and instead shoot the charging half-orc barrelling down the hill towards the fort!
[17:47] <Ebiris> roll 1d20+6
[17:47] * Hatbot --> "Ebiris rolls 1d20+6 and gets 16." [1d20=10]
[17:48] <Ebiris> roll 1d8+3
[17:48] * Hatbot --> "Ebiris rolls 1d8+3 and gets 5." [1d8=2]
[17:48] <Ebiris> The arrow finds its mark, punching through his breastplate with ease and drawing blood from the green flesh underneath!
[17:49] <Ebiris> OOC: Go Alveria
[17:49] <Ebiris> OOC: wait, no
[17:49] <Ebiris> OOC: Gourash and Aramas, and Linda, arrive this turn.
[17:50] <Alveria> "Hey, guys, do something awesome, like get all the bad guys in one spot! That'd be awesome!"
[17:55] <Ebiris> Charging into the breach in the fortress wall, Gourash finds a figure before him in a suit of oddly decorative armour, adorned with seemingly non-functional spikes and elegant swirls, he wields a large greatsword and stands over the steaming corpse of a human male. His build is that of an elf, but his skin is a sallow yellow, gaunt and unhealthy, and his pointed ears are oddly serrated.
[17:55] <Ebiris> Several others of the same race and similarly equipped are also about, besides the prisoners.
[17:58] * Gourash roars as he comes in, his axe swinging as his feet pound the ground, propelling him rapidly towards the leader and woe to anyone in his way.
[17:58] <Gourash> OOC: Raging, +4 str, +4 con, +2 wil, -2 ac for next five rounds.  +10 hp.
[17:59] <Gourash> OOC: Current ac is 12 (-2 charge, -2 rage).
[18:01] * Gourash lashes out at the decoratively armored leader, bringing down his axe in a massively powerful strike at the oddly decorative armor.
[18:02] <Gourash> roll 1d20+11+2(morale)+2(rage)+2(charge)-4 (PA)
[18:02] * Hatbot --> "Gourash rolls 1d20+11+2(morale)+2(rage)+2(charge)-4 (PA) and gets Error: Numeric values only." [1d20=5]
[18:02] <Ebiris> 5+11+2+2+2-4
[18:02] <Gourash> OOC: bothersome.  lets see 16+4 = 20
[18:02] <Gourash> roll 5+11+2+2+2-4
[18:02] * Hatbot --> "Gourash rolls 5+11+2+2+2-4 and gets 18."
[18:02] <Ebiris> OOC: damage
[18:03] <Gourash> roll 1d12+7+3+8+2
[18:03] * Hatbot --> "Gourash rolls 1d12+7+3+8+2 and gets 25." [1d12=5]
[18:06] <Ebiris> Gourash's axe cleaves into the strange warrior like the wrath of heaven, cutting him down where he stands before he can do more than emit a strangled scream!
[18:07] <Ebiris> As this happens, one of the other warriors comes charging straight at Gourash, yelling in a strange language with his own ornate greatsword held aloft to exact some revenge upon the barbarian!
[18:08] <Ebiris> roll 1d20+6
[18:08] * Hatbot --> "Ebiris rolls 1d20+6 and gets 15." [1d20=9]
[18:08] <Ebiris> roll 2d6+10
[18:08] * Hatbot --> "Ebiris rolls 2d6+10 and gets 16." [2d6=5, 1]
[18:09] <Ebiris> While not quite up to the standards of Gourash's attack, it's still a vicious blow, the enemy warrior's slanted eyes glaring hatefully at the half-orc as his sword sinks in and he barks out something no doubt quite rude in his strange language!
[18:09] <Ebiris> OOC: Go Alveria
[18:10] <Alveria> OOC: Is gourash actually inside the fort, or in a gap in the wall or something?
[18:10] <Ebiris> OOC: he's inside and like 10 feet from the prisoners.
[18:11] * Alveria can't do much from here! She drops back down to the ground and starts running until she's closer to the wall!
[18:13] <Ebiris> Another of the gaunt armoured figures also runs to engage Gourash, an ululating scream coming from his mouth as he charges the barbarian!
[18:13] <Ebiris> roll 1d20+8
[18:13] * Hatbot --> "Ebiris rolls 1d20+8 and gets 19." [1d20=11]
[18:13] <Ebiris> roll 2d6+10
[18:13] * Hatbot --> "Ebiris rolls 2d6+10 and gets 18." [2d6=3, 5]
[18:14] <Ebiris> It's a wound that would slay most normal men! But with his enraged tenacity, Gourash hangs on despite two deep wounds spilling his lifeblood and one arrow sticking out of his chest. But for how long can the indominatible half-orc hold out?
[18:15] <Ebiris> Meanwhile, Gourash can see another of the warriors moving to the entrance he came through, perhaps ready to attack any reinforcements coming to his aid?
[18:15] <Ebiris> Aramas pauses as he rushes towards the entrance, throwing a bolt of hellish fury up at the remaining archer!
[18:15] <Ebiris> roll 1d20+6
[18:15] * Hatbot --> "Ebiris rolls 1d20+6 and gets 25." [1d20=19]
[18:15] <Ebiris> roll 3d6
[18:15] * Hatbot --> "Ebiris rolls 3d6 and gets 9." [3d6=4, 3, 2]
[18:16] <Ebiris> It strikes true, knocking the yellow-skinned figure back a step, but he stays up!
[18:17] <Ebiris> Another fighter also goes to cover the entrance, while one more approaches Gourash, albeit more cautiously and not in range just yet, since his comrades seem to have the raging barbarian under control.
[18:17] <Ebiris> Recovering, the archer fires a shot down at Aramas in reply!
[18:17] <Ebiris> roll 1d20+6
[18:17] * Hatbot --> "Ebiris rolls 1d20+6 and gets 9." [1d20=3]
[18:17] <Ebiris> But the arrow only embeds itself in the dirt!
[18:18] <Ebiris> Rushing inside, Linda pauses to fire an arrow at the warriors battling Gourash, but suddenly finds a pair of greatswords arcing out at her from the warriors covering the entrance!
[18:18] <Ebiris> roll 1d20+9
[18:18] * Hatbot --> "Ebiris rolls 1d20+9 and gets 10." [1d20=1]
[18:18] <Ebiris> roll 1d20+9 botch check
[18:18] * Hatbot --> "Ebiris rolls 1d20+9 botch check and gets 16." [1d20=7]
[18:18] <Ebiris> roll 1d100
[18:18] * Hatbot --> "Ebiris rolls 1d100 and gets 48." [1d100=48]
[18:19] <Ebiris> roll 1d4
[18:19] * Hatbot --> "Ebiris rolls 1d4 and gets 2." [1d4=2]
[18:19] <Ebiris> roll 1d20+9
[18:19] * Hatbot --> "Ebiris rolls 1d20+9 and gets 20." [1d20=11]
[18:19] <Ebiris> roll 2d6+4
[18:19] * Hatbot --> "Ebiris rolls 2d6+4 and gets 8." [2d6=1, 3]
[18:21] <Ebiris> The first easily misses, the baroque armoured warrior seeming to strain something, but the second finds its mark, exposing the poor young ranger's guts to the air! Crying out feebly, she loses her attack to the well prepared defence! She looks in a bad way, though...
[18:23] <Ebiris> OOC: Go Varul
[18:24] <Varul> OOC - Can I get past the goons and the door to help bail out our nearly dead barbarian?
[18:25] <Ebiris> OOC: You could, unless they have combat reflexes.
[18:25] <Alveria> "I can't see what's going on right now! Don't run in the centre just yet, I need to burn things!"
[18:25] <Varul> Varul charges bravely, looking to plainly slice open the villian that hurt Linda! Gotta break the door open and bail out Gourash, not to mention saving the prisoners!
[18:26] <Varul> roll 1d20+10 (-3 PA)
[18:26] * Hatbot --> "Varul rolls 1d20+10 (-3 PA) and gets 25." [1d20=15]
[18:26] <Ebiris> OOC: hit go
[18:26] <Varul> roll 2d6+14
[18:26] * Hatbot --> "Varul rolls 2d6+14 and gets 26." [2d6=6, 6]
[18:27] <Varul> roll 1d20+10 (-3 PA) cleave
[18:27] * Hatbot --> "Varul rolls 1d20+10 (-3 PA) cleave and gets 19." [1d20=9]
[18:27] <Ebiris> OOC: hit
[18:27] <Varul> roll 2d6+14
[18:27] * Hatbot --> "Varul rolls 2d6+14 and gets 25." [2d6=6, 5]
[18:30] <Ebiris> It's a brutal hack into the first, and then spinning around to avoid Linda as he completes a nearly full circle, Varul unloads another attack into his comrade, putting both down and showering the cute ranger girl with even more gore than she's currently producing!
[18:33] <Ebiris> Running forward from the Soutwest corner comes another figure, this one more lightly armoured than the others and carrying a smaller yet still mighty sword, and a shield. Spitting out an unintelligible phrase, he releases a black/purple ray of energy at Gourash!
[18:33] <Ebiris> roll 1d20+10
[18:33] * Hatbot --> "Ebiris rolls 1d20+10 and gets 22." [1d20=12]
[18:33] <Ebiris> OOC: fort save
[18:34] <Gourash> roll 1d20+9
[18:34] * Hatbot --> "Gourash rolls 1d20+9 and gets 25." [1d20=16]
[18:34] <Ebiris> roll 1d6+2
[18:34] * Hatbot --> "Ebiris rolls 1d6+2 and gets 4." [1d6=2]
[18:35] <Ebiris> Gourash shrugs off the worst of it, but he feels his muscles tense and strain, the effects of his rage diminished!
[18:35] <Ebiris> OOC: -2 strength
[18:35] <Ebiris> OOC: -4!
[18:35] <Ebiris> His rage is nullified in some respects, sadly.
[18:36] * Gourash roars in both rage and pain, his muscles straining in desperation as he swings his axe as hard as he can in a brutal horizontal cut. That's remarkably less brutal then planned.
[18:36] <Gourash> roll 1d20+11-2+2+2-2  (-2 pa, +2 morale, +2 rage, -2 str)
[18:36] * Hatbot --> "Gourash rolls 1d20+11-2+2+2-2 (-2 pa, +2 morale, +2 rage, -2 str) and gets 31." [1d20=20]
[18:37] <Gourash> roll 1d20+11-2+2+2-2  (-2 pa, +2 morale, +2 rage, -2 str) CRIT check
[18:37] * Hatbot --> "Gourash rolls 1d20+11-2+2+2-2 (-2 pa, +2 morale, +2 rage, -2 str) CRIT check and gets 15." [1d20=4]
[18:37] <Ebiris> OOC: normal hit
[18:37] <Gourash> OOC: darn x-x
[18:37] <Gourash> OOC: Didn't they charge last round?  or still not?
[18:38] <Ebiris> OOC: still not
[18:38] <Ebiris> OOC: that armour isn't just for show!
[18:39] <Gourash> roll 1d12+7+4+2
[18:39] * Hatbot --> "Gourash rolls 1d12+7+4+2 and gets 21." [1d12=8]
[18:40] <Ebiris> It's a vicious wound, but not on par with the one that heralded Gourash's arrival on the battle, and while greviously wounded, his foe still remains upright!
[18:41] <Amonet> "For Horus-Re! For justice!" Amonet calls out, charging the sickly-looking elf Gourash had injured, her ranseur announcing her presence!
[18:41] <Amonet> roll 1d20+12
[18:41] * Hatbot --> "Amonet rolls 1d20+12 and gets 27." [1d20=15]
[18:42] <Ebiris> Staggering a bit under the weight of Gourash's axe blow, the yellow-skinned figure snarls and spits out more unintelligible phrasing as he attacks Gourash just as Amonet charges him!
[18:42] <Ebiris> OOC: hit, these resolve simultaneously
[18:42] <Ebiris> OOC: so do your damage, Amonet
[18:42] <Amonet> roll 2d4+7
[18:42] * Hatbot --> "Amonet rolls 2d4+7 and gets 13." [2d4=3, 3]
[18:42] <Ebiris> roll 1d20+9
[18:42] * Hatbot --> "Ebiris rolls 1d20+9 and gets 12." [1d20=3]
[18:43] <Ebiris> His sword is less skillfully wielded thanks to his wounds, however, and now only manages to clang off Gourash's armour an instant before Amonet runs him through!
[18:44] * Alveria floats into the sky again, rapidly surveying the scene and readying a spell for usage! OOC: readied action to fireball the leader when he does something
[18:45] <Alveria> OOC: ACTUALLY
[18:45] <Alveria> OOC: Hold on a sec
[18:47] <Alveria> OOC: Ok keep that action, then
[18:48] <Ebiris> The fighter currently engaging Gourash cries out something in surprise at Amonet's sudden arrival, turning to engage the spear wielder and stepping closer to hack into her nubile aasimar flesh!
[18:48] <Ebiris> roll 1d20+8
[18:48] * Hatbot --> "Ebiris rolls 1d20+8 and gets 28." [1d20=20]
[18:48] <Ebiris> roll 1d20+8 to confirm ow
[18:48] * Hatbot --> "Ebiris rolls 1d20+8 to confirm ow and gets 24." [1d20=16]
[18:49] <Ebiris> roll 4d6+12
[18:49] * Hatbot --> "Ebiris rolls 4d6+12 and gets 24." [4d6=6, 3, 1, 2]
[18:51] <Usagi> roll 1d20+8 cleave
[18:51] * Hatbot --> "Usagi rolls 1d20+8 cleave and gets 20." [1d20=12]
[18:51] <Usagi> roll 2d6+6
[18:51] * Hatbot --> "Usagi rolls 2d6+6 and gets 8." [2d6=1, 1]
[18:54] <Usagi> It's a powerful blow that hacks right through Amonet's defences, surely hitting something vital! The cleric of Horus Re drops, spraying an arc of blood from her gaping wound, before the warrior spins around even as she falls, hitting Gourash on his backswing!
[18:55] <Usagi> Aramas hurls another ball of hate up at the archer, while the other warrior who had previously been approaching Gourash instead decides to charge at Varul instead!
[18:55] <Usagi> roll 1d20+6 for Aramas
[18:55] * Hatbot --> "Usagi rolls 1d20+6 for Aramas and gets 23." [1d20=17]
[18:55] <Usagi> roll 3d6
[18:55] * Hatbot --> "Usagi rolls 3d6 and gets 7." [3d6=1, 2, 4]
[18:56] <Usagi> The archer takes a bolt of hellfire to the face, being dropped and tumbling backwards off the battlements to land not far from Varul even as one of his comrades charges the erstwhile swordsman!
[18:57] <Usagi> roll 1d20+8
[18:57] * Hatbot --> "Usagi rolls 1d20+8 and gets 12." [1d20=4]
[18:57] <Usagi> But misses, his blade only whiffing through the air!
[18:57] <Varul> OOC - Can I AoO since he charged at me or anything?
[18:57] <Usagi> OOC: No. His AC is down by 2, though.
[18:58] <Varul> OOC - Okay. Who's up?
[18:58] <Usagi> Linda steps back, somehow ignoring the fact that her insides are currently exposed to air, and fires a pair of arrows point blank at the figure attacking Varul!
[18:58] <Usagi> roll 1d20+5
[18:58] * Hatbot --> "Usagi rolls 1d20+5 and gets 16." [1d20=11]
[18:58] <Usagi> roll 1d20+5
[18:58] * Hatbot --> "Usagi rolls 1d20+5 and gets 25." [1d20=20]
[18:58] <Usagi> roll 1d20+5 confirm
[18:58] * Hatbot --> "Usagi rolls 1d20+5 confirm and gets 14." [1d20=9]
[18:58] <Usagi> roll 1d8
[18:58] * Hatbot --> "Usagi rolls 1d8 and gets 3." [1d8=3]
[18:59] <Usagi> One of them only glances off armour, while the other is able to find its way into his arm, drawing blood!
[19:01] <Varul> Varul pulls back and hurries over(No charge, just moving) and attacking the one that took down Amonet!
[19:01] <Usagi> As he passes, the warrior currently attacking Varul exploits the opening!
[19:01] <Usagi> roll 1d20+9
[19:01] * Hatbot --> "Usagi rolls 1d20+9 and gets 22." [1d20=13]
[19:01] <Usagi> roll 2d6+4
[19:01] * Hatbot --> "Usagi rolls 2d6+4 and gets 9." [2d6=3, 2]
[19:02] <Usagi> It's a shallow wound, perhaps one that would have bothered him more in times past, but one Varul can ignore for now as he hurries on his errand of mercy!
[19:02] <Varul> So doing so, Varul unleashes th esword fury at him, looking for a neat decapitation!
[19:03] <Varul> roll 1d20+10 (-2 PA)
[19:03] * Hatbot --> "Varul rolls 1d20+10 (-2 PA) and gets 17." [1d20=7]
[19:04] <Usagi> Varul perhaps put a bit too much power and not enough skill into that hit, his blow just glancing off his target's armour and not finding purchase!
[19:05] * Alveria keeps a close eye on the lone enemy spellcasters, flames hovering in front of her fingertips...
[19:05] <Alveria> *spellcaster
[19:06] <Usagi> Meanwhile the bastard sword and spellcasting figure approaches the charnel filled battleground near the prisoners, raising his voice to speak in Common! "Infidels! Surrender and I will let you live, otherwise you will be slain - only one of you is wanted alive!"
[19:07] * Alveria has no time for this, fireballing the spellcasting guy, the radius just short of hitting the prisoners!
[19:07] <Alveria> roll 6d6 dc 19
[19:07] * Hatbot --> "Alveria rolls 6d6 dc 19  and gets 26." [6d6=6, 4, 5, 6, 4, 1]
[19:07] <Usagi> OOC: caster level check, Alvie
[19:07] <Alveria> roll 1d20+5
[19:07] * Hatbot --> "Alveria rolls 1d20+5 and gets 6." [1d20=1]
[19:08] <Usagi> The fireball washes over the figure, but amazingly he seems utterly unaffected! Eyes blazing, he looks up at the floating figure of Alveria and yells out something in his strange language, before an arrow of green energy flies up at her!
[19:08] <Usagi> roll 1d20+6
[19:08] * Hatbot --> "Usagi rolls 1d20+6 and gets 17." [1d20=11]
[19:08] <Usagi> roll 1d5
[19:08] * Hatbot --> "Usagi rolls 1d5 and gets 2." [1d5=2]
[19:08] <Alveria> OOC: roofles mirror image there are SIX but I'll take that
[19:09] <Usagi> roll 1d6
[19:09] * Hatbot --> "Usagi rolls 1d6 and gets 4." [1d6=4]
[19:09] <Usagi> It zooms up and annihilates Alveria! Or at least one of her, the elf mage now reduced to five...
[19:09] <Alveria> "Never!" growls Alveria, infuriated. "Burning I wish you to do, so burn you shall!
[19:10] <Alveria> roll 1d20+14 (+16 for evocation)
[19:10] * Hatbot --> "Alveria rolls 1d20+14 (+16 for evocation) and gets 22." [1d20=8]
[19:12] <Alveria> roll 1d20+12
[19:12] * Hatbot --> "Alveria rolls 1d20+12 and gets 25." [1d20=13]
[19:13] * Gourash gasps, barely on his feet as he swings his axe to clear off the nearby fighter.
[19:13] <Gourash> roll 1d20+11-2+2+2-2  (-2 pa, +2 morale, +2 rage, -2 str)
[19:13] * Hatbot --> "Gourash rolls 1d20+11-2+2+2-2 (-2 pa, +2 morale, +2 rage, -2 str) and gets 27." [1d20=16]
[19:13] <Gourash> roll 1d12+7+4+2
[19:13] * Hatbot --> "Gourash rolls 1d12+7+4+2 and gets 21." [1d12=8]
[19:14] <Usagi> It's a ferocious blow, staggering Gourash's opponent but not quite finishing him off!
[19:14] <Usagi> roll 1d100
[19:14] * Hatbot --> "Usagi rolls 1d100 and gets 63." [1d100=63]
[19:15] <Usagi> Amonet continues to leak her lifeblood while the Githyanki caught between Gourash and Varul decides to step back a moment and chug down a potion!
[19:15] <Usagi> roll 2d8+3
[19:15] * Hatbot --> "Usagi rolls 2d8+3 and gets 8." [2d8=1, 4]
[19:15] <Usagi> He seems a bit healthy, but still in a pretty bad way!
[19:16] <Usagi> Meanwhile Aramas rushes in to blast the Githyanki lingering near Linda!
[19:16] <Usagi> roll 1d20+6
[19:16] * Hatbot --> "Usagi rolls 1d20+6 and gets 25." [1d20=19]
[19:16] <Usagi> roll 3d6
[19:16] * Hatbot --> "Usagi rolls 3d6 and gets 15." [3d6=5, 6, 4]
[19:16] <Usagi> The Githyanki cries out as he's knocked back by the blast of roiling hellfire, before yelling a challenge and charging the Warlock!
[19:17] <Usagi> roll 1d20+9
[19:17] * Hatbot --> "Usagi rolls 1d20+9 and gets 17." [1d20=8]
[19:17] <Usagi> roll 2d6+4
[19:17] * Hatbot --> "Usagi rolls 2d6+4 and gets 9." [2d6=4, 1]
[19:17] <Usagi> The sword cleaves into Aramas but doesn't put him down quite yet! Still, a poor Warlock can only take so much abuse!
[19:18] <Usagi> Gritting her teeth, Linda fires off another pair of arrows at the figure nearby Gourash and Varul!
[19:18] <Usagi> roll 1d20+5
[19:18] * Hatbot --> "Usagi rolls 1d20+5 and gets 20." [1d20=15]
[19:18] <Usagi> roll 1d20+5
[19:18] * Hatbot --> "Usagi rolls 1d20+5 and gets 25." [1d20=20]
[19:18] <Usagi> roll 1d20+5 confirm lol
[19:18] * Hatbot --> "Usagi rolls 1d20+5 confirm lol and gets 14." [1d20=9]
[19:18] <Usagi> roll 2d8
[19:18] * Hatbot --> "Usagi rolls 2d8 and gets 12." [2d8=6, 6]
[19:18] <Usagi> Plink! Plink! A pair of arrows embed themselves in the side of his head, the Githyanki staggering a moment as his eyes roll up before he totters over, dead!
[19:19] <Varul> OOC - Is anyone left by Varul?
[19:19] <Usagi> OOC: no
[19:19] * Alveria lands, and runs forward, hurling forth a trio of magic missiles at the githyanki facing Aramas!
[19:19] <Usagi> OOC: Only bad guy is the guy who just asked you to surrender
[19:19] <Varul> OOC - I'm going to go to that leader and cut him/her/it fucking up.
[19:19] <Alveria> roll 1d20+5 caster check go
[19:19] * Hatbot --> "Alveria rolls 1d20+5 caster check go and gets 10." [1d20=5]
[19:20] <Alveria> roll 3d4+3 is there hope?
[19:20] * Hatbot --> "Alveria rolls 3d4+3 is there hope? and gets 13." [3d4=4, 2, 4]
[19:20] <Usagi> OOC: that works on these goons
[19:20] * Varul goes to the presumed leader, a hurried pace as his non charging sword swings out!
[19:20] <Varul> roll 1d20+10 (-1 PA)
[19:20] * Hatbot --> "Varul rolls 1d20+10 (-1 PA) and gets 29." [1d20=19]
[19:20] <Varul> roll 1d20+10 threat
[19:20] * Hatbot --> "Varul rolls 1d20+10 threat and gets 11." [1d20=1]
[19:20] <Usagi> The three bolts of eldritch magic pelt into the figure attacking Aramas, bypassing his magical resistance and putting him down for the count!
[19:20] <Usagi> OOC: normal hit, Varul
[19:20] <Varul> roll 1d20+10
[19:20] * Hatbot --> "Varul rolls 1d20+10 and gets 18." [1d20=8]
[19:20] <Varul> OOC - STrike, wrong die.
[19:21] <Varul> roll 2d6+10
[19:21] * Hatbot --> "Varul rolls 2d6+10 and gets 18." [2d6=3, 5]
[19:22] <Usagi> It's a powerful blow that hacks past his defences, but the Githyanki captain is swift to retaliate, his own ornate blade arcing out to cut up Varul in revenge!
[19:22] <Usagi> roll 1d20+12
[19:22] * Hatbot --> "Usagi rolls 1d20+12 and gets 30." [1d20=18]
[19:23] <Usagi> roll 1d20+12 to confirm
[19:23] * Hatbot --> "Usagi rolls 1d20+12 to confirm and gets 25." [1d20=13]
[19:23] <Usagi> roll 1d20+7
[19:23] * Hatbot --> "Usagi rolls 1d20+7 and gets 22." [1d20=15]
[19:23] <Usagi> roll 3d10+15
[19:23] * Hatbot --> "Usagi rolls 3d10+15 and gets 35." [3d10=5, 5, 10]
[19:24] <Usagi> His blade seems to instinctively seek out Varul's vulnerable spots, cutting through his defences as if they weren't there and nearly slaying the swordsman outright! It's only through sheer force of will that Varul stays up in spite of this punishment!
[19:26] * Gourash uses a cure moderate wounds potion on... Amonet!
[19:26] <Gourash> roll 2d8+3
[19:26] * Hatbot --> "Gourash rolls 2d8+3 and gets 9." [2d8=4, 2]
[19:28] * Amonet stands up shakily, using her ranseur to keep her upright, and her voice carries a prayer to Horus-Re, so he would watch over her friends. A hand presses against Gourash, and healing energy infuses him almost instantly, glittering with a golden light.
[19:28] <Amonet> roll 1d8+2
[19:28] * Hatbot --> "Amonet rolls 1d8+2 and gets 8." [1d8=6]
[19:29] <Usagi> Aramas hurries into the fortress, and surveying the scene, quickly looses off a bolt of eldritch hellfire at the last upright Gith!
[19:29] <Usagi> roll 1d20+5
[19:29] * Hatbot --> "Usagi rolls 1d20+5 and gets 8." [1d20=3]
[19:29] <Usagi> But it seems to dissipate almost as soon as it touches him! What foul magery is this?!
[19:30] <Usagi> Seeing that Amonet has recovered herself, Linda approaches in order to shoot off an arrow at the leader of the Githyanki from her preferred close up range!
[19:30] <Usagi> roll 1d20+7
[19:30] * Hatbot --> "Usagi rolls 1d20+7 and gets 11." [1d20=4]
[19:30] <Usagi> But it only sails uselessly overhead!
[19:31] * Alveria runs forward, growling herself. "Magic resistance? Bah! If one spell won't work, I'll through dozens!"
[19:31] <Alveria> roll 1d20+5 CL check go
[19:31] * Hatbot --> "Alveria rolls 1d20+5 CL check go and gets 14." [1d20=9]
[19:31] <Alveria> roll 3d4+3 glee?
[19:31] * Hatbot --> "Alveria rolls 3d4+3 glee? and gets 10." [3d4=2, 2, 3]
[19:32] <Usagi> The magic missiles pelt into the Githyanki without resistance this time, staggering him badly, yet he still remains up!
[19:34] * Varul takes the fivef oot step back, drinking his healing potion!
[19:34] <Varul> roll 2d8+3
[19:34] * Hatbot --> "Varul rolls 2d8+3 and gets 14." [2d8=3, 8]
[19:34] <Usagi> Varul heals himself, even as the Githyanki strikes, sword lashing out at the human warrior as he steps back!
[19:35] <Usagi> roll 1d20+12
[19:35] * Hatbot --> "Usagi rolls 1d20+12 and gets 20." [1d20=8]
[19:35] <Usagi> roll 1d20+7
[19:35] * Hatbot --> "Usagi rolls 1d20+7 and gets 12." [1d20=5]
[19:35] <Usagi> roll 1d10+5
[19:35] * Hatbot --> "Usagi rolls 1d10+5 and gets 10." [1d10=5]
[19:36] <Usagi> Perhaps not as bloodthirsty as before, but Varul could have reason to wonder if his healing was just undone by that cut across his chest! Still, better than being dead, right?
[19:37] * Gourash growls, leaping forward in his last raging round to charge the githyanki!
[19:37] * Gourash smashes down with his axe!
[19:37] <Gourash> roll 1d20+11-2+2+2-2  (-2 pa, +2 morale, +2 rage, -2 str)
[19:37] * Hatbot --> "Gourash rolls 1d20+11-2+2+2-2 (-2 pa, +2 morale, +2 rage, -2 str) and gets 24." [1d20=13]
[19:38] <Usagi> OOC: hit, just. Damage.
[19:38] <Gourash> roll 1d12+7+4+2
[19:38] * Hatbot --> "Gourash rolls 1d12+7+4+2 and gets 15." [1d12=2]
[19:38] <Usagi> OOC: OOOH.
[19:39] <Usagi> Gourash slams into the Githyanki Captain like only a raging half-orc can, the Outsider completely unprepared to have a magical greataxe suddenly embed itself into his skull! Head split wide open, the leader of this squadron of Githyanki dies messily!
[19:39] <Alveria> "Hurray! We win! And I'm not hurt at all!" pronounes Alveria, happily.
[19:40] * Amonet throws Alveria a dirty look, before rushing to Varul to ease his pain and suffering.
[19:40] <Varul> Varul sends her a LOOK, leaning heavily on his greatsword. "Ugh." Spitting out blood hel ooks around, idly wondering why he chose this profession again.
[19:40] <Amonet> roll 1d8+2
[19:40] * Hatbot --> "Amonet rolls 1d8+2 and gets 4." [1d8=2]
[19:41] <Amonet> roll 1d8+2 G
[19:41] * Hatbot --> "Amonet rolls 1d8+2 G and gets 5." [1d8=3]
[19:41] <Amonet> roll 1d8+2 V
[19:41] * Hatbot --> "Amonet rolls 1d8+2 V and gets 8." [1d8=6]
[19:41] * Gourash looks...and collapses on top of the creature. Then is healed and gets up shortly aftewrads.

Okay! Having finished looting, Linda is quite happy to lead her villagers back home - the remaining gnolls seem a bit frightened and bewildered by all that's gone on. Speaking to them they'll reveal that a new chief recently took over and supported a more aggressive lifestyle, hence the raid on the village. He's now dead, though, along with pretty much all their warriors.

SO!

What do you do, now?

They should go and help out that village, build them a barn or something as restitution!

Other than that, getting back on track sounds like fun. Mines await! And so do the wondrous things one might buy at Silverymoon!

P.S.
The scroll, comprehend languages, fun!

Casting Comprehend Languages, Amonet becomes a polyglot and reads the scroll held by the Githyanki leader!

Captain An'izius.

Her most High Holiness, the Lich Queen herself, has entrusted this mission to you. On the Prime Material hides one who has stolen from the Lich Queen - this infidel will be expected to arrive at the Dog Men stronghold we are sending you to tomorrow.

Slay all opposition and make slaves of those who surrender, and have your squad ready for the infidel's arrival. The infidel does not travel alone, but its companions are of no import - slay or capture them as you please, but the infidel MUST be taken alive.

Our seers sacrificed much to gain this information, so do not fail. If you let the infidel escape, or worse, kill it, your own life is forfeit to the Lich Queen's mercy.

Admiral Yi'annan.

Then on the other side of the paper is the portrait of Alveria.

First of all, I motion that we need to go to a serious town before anything else now. We're getting a hare tapped out and we have a lot of loot to liquefy/spend. This is augumented by the fact that I'd rather not have Gith stuff on us for too long. Hell, they're looking for Alveria already, so we don't need to give any more tips than we have to. Discreetly and intelligently find a buyer and get our money; move on.

I do suspect we may run into a trap with that, though.

Anyway. Restock, see about some weapon/armor upgrades for us, and get a move on. Oh, and looking into an anti gith weapon or two if they're handy. Since I imagine we're not going to be free of 'em yet.

Is there no spellbook?

And for my own reaction!

Alveria professes ignorance if anyone asks (though if she found the scroll first she wouldn't have shown anyone, if it matters.)

"They're stupid, stupid, STUPID elf-wannabes. They're probably jealous of the fact that I have cooler hair than them and I don't look like some kind of zombie, how the hell should I know why a bunch of loonies wants to come after me, huh?

"Huh? Why're you looking at me like that? You think I'm crazy? I'd like to know as much as you! Probably more, seeing as it's me they want to kidnap. No! I don't have anything of theirs! I've never stolen a thing, and besides, these guys are brutal when it comes to that, they'd probably just kill me.

"By the way, why are we carrying all this junk? You think I wanna get found by these freaks again anytime soon? Let's just drop it in some lake and be done with it, at least we can sell the bows and potions.

"And... uh.. thanks. I really don't have a clue, so..."

Passing on any comments to that until Eb lets us know if/who is aware of that scroll. Corwin was the one that read it, yes?

I'll say Varul was the one who looted the leader, since he was closest and not fatigued like Gourash or occupied with post battle healing like Amonet.

Assuming he didn't keep it secret, Amonet would have cast Comprehend Languages the next day after a chance to memorise it, right?

Also, I'd like to hold off on IC reactions to all this till next session so the party can discuss things then.

And no, no spellbook was found.

On another note, what did the gold/item split end up being from last adventure?

Quote from: CarthratAnyway, that's 14777.5 bonus gp of loot total (if we sold everything, which we won't, as usual.) That's 2955.5gp each. Remember, you can effectively 'buy' items from the lootlist here at half price.

Quoting from the last thread.

So basically 2955.5gp minus half price of anything you bought from the loot.

As I recall, Alveria claimed the extending rod and a couple of scrolls and daggers, Aramas the cloak of charisma, and Gourash and Varul a Cure Moderate Wounds potion each.

Of course, that's subject to you guys selling everything, which you haven't yet as evidenced by the continued existence of Boots of Levitation in yesterday's session.

Calculator, have YOU got one?

Net Profit (all goods at full price): 28,500
Non-Gith-Stuff Net Profit: 2,600

Halve those for sellage results, I guess. I disbelieve selling this junk is easy or even safe.

The Composite Bows aren't Gith, so we could sell them easily as well. That comes up to 4400gp full price, 2200gp half price, and 440gp apiece (before anyone tries to buy anything like the potions).

4500 actually.  2250

so 410 a piece.

Anyhow... how common are githyanki in forgotten realmsverse?  It's been a while so I don't remember.  I remember they were  common in Planescape-verse, but that was dealing with plane hopping.  GM-san?  More asking on the lines of knowing: Is it worth it to cart all this around or is it some venture that we'd know would just be painting a target on ourselves even as we walk to talk with the merchants.  I guess that's an unfair question though, phrased like that.

The Githyanki are fairly rare on the Prime Material, yes, but not unknown - they appear more frequently and openly than certain demons or celestials, but don't have as big an effect on events, generally.

Basically, anyone who can appreciate the craftsmanship enough to pay a proper price for their gear is also someone who knows what they're in for.

It's possible you could find a rich idiot to sell them to, or a collector who doesn't care about the danger, or even a merchant who specialises in such risky merchandise. Doing so might be an adventure in itself, though!

[15:09] <Usagi> After their epic battle with the Githyanki, the party along with the rescued villagers return to Gondrick's Hollow in order to rest for a bit prior to resuming their journey to Silverymoon. The villagers are only to happy to provide what hospitality they can to their saviours, providing a welcome respite from days of camping on the road.
[15:09] <Usagi> And so, the next day, everyone gathers round as Amonet casts her spell to decipher the strange scroll held by the Githyanki leader...
[15:13] * Varul settles into a chair, waiting idly for Amomet to do her work.
[15:13] <Amonet> "Please, say it isn't so, friend!" Amonet implores Alveria, having translated the scroll for everyone's benefit. "You are not a common thief, right?"
[15:13] <Alveria> "There's nothing common about me!"
[15:13] <Alveria> "..wait."
[15:13] <Alveria> "..."
[15:14] <Amonet> "Please deny the thief part!"
[15:14] <Alveria> "..."
[15:14] <Usagi> "Thief?" Linda pokes her head into the sitting room, "I thought you people were treasure hunters or something like that?"
[15:15] <Amonet> "We are most firmly on the side of justice!" Amonet insists to Linda.
[15:15] <Alveria> "I am not a thief! Nor am I common! Nor am I an infidel!" snarls Alveria, snatching the piece of paper.
[15:16] * Amonet blinks. "Well, you might well be an infidel, though Horus-Re does not strike people down for that. But I'm very happy you are not a thief!"
[15:16] <Alveria> "Justice, shmustice, this is plain stupid," she continues. "...Kossuth help me," she mutters, flopping onto a chair. "Shut up."
[15:16] <Varul> "Then it's just random vagaries of fate that they have your sketch, information and the like, and were hunting us down," Varul drawls out evenly, unmoved by Alveria's wrath. "Either you did or they think you did for some reason or another."
[15:18] <Alveria> "Yeah, well, I don't think they'll listen when I tell them they're wrong," she mutters. "Light save me, I've never seen a Githyanki before yesterday!"
[15:18] * Amonet looks hurt, and does indeed quiet down, observing the scroll.
[15:18] <Gourash> "What's a Lich Queen?" Gourash wondered.
[15:18] <Varul> "Doesn't mean that you have to have seen one to take something important from 'em. 'sides, they're ruthless bastards from the looks of everything we saw here. Can you think of anything that could be that?" Varul goes on, a glimpse, "Ain't that some kind of mage?"
[15:18] <Usagi> It's made of fairly ordinary paper, strange runic letters that Amonet alone can read thanks to her magic, and a rather fetching picture of Alveria on the reverse. There's some sort of seal below the signature at the bottom as well, though not one she recognises.
[15:20] <Alveria> "Haha! Some kind of mage! THE Lich-Queen of the Githyanki is an undead wizard of... truly awesome might," mutters Alveria. "She lords over the entire race, consuming the souls of those who grow close to her in power. For centuries, she has done things, and they follow her every whim..."
[15:21] <Varul> "So great. There's some godlike wizard girl pissed at you?" Varul takes a moment to exhale, a near sigh. "Anyway, any idea at all what she'd want from you or why?"
[15:22] <Alveria> "Ruthless isn't the word. It's a few levels worse than that. If they're really after me..." she whispers, suddenly feeling cold, and hugging herself tightly. "How the fu-" Suddenly, she goes silent, a look of utmost horror passing over her face.
[15:22] <Alveria> " infidel!" snarls Alveria, snatching the piece of paper.
[15:22] <Alveria> [01:15] * Amonet blinks. "Well, you might well be an infidel, thou
[15:22] <Varul> "Bingo?" Varul leans forward, looking interested now. His lips curl upward slightly, "Got something?"
[15:23] <Alveria> "It wasn't my FAULT!" she screams, lurching out her seat and running out the room.
[15:23] <Usagi> "Ah..." Linda just watches things in open confusion. "Will she be okay?"
[15:24] * Gourash blinks.
[15:24] <Varul> "...women." Varul mutters in supreme distaste, getting up and following. "No clue, but I'm not going to travel with someone wanted by those Gith things without at least knowing all there is to know about it."
[15:24] <Amonet> "She does not wish to talk about this, it seems," Amonet says sadly.
[15:25] <Gourash> "'greed...  No profit in pissing off kinds or queens or whatnot," Gourash not appreciating the intricities but considering anyway.
[15:28] * Gourash shrugs. "So what are we going to do with this stuff?"
[15:29] <Amonet> "Nothing," Amonet says simply. "This must be the wish of Horus-Re, and now that I am comfident friend Alveria is no lowly thief, I have no problem aiding her with this misunderstanding."
[15:29] <Usagi> "I bet it's worth a fortune!" Linda nods eagerly, eyeing one of the ornate greatswords piled up in the corner of the room. "Way more than anything those Gnolls had."
[15:30] <Gourash> "Yeah, it's noticible though.  Sometimes folks don't want to buy that kind of stuff."
[15:33] <Usagi> "Cursed?" the ranger asks, shrinking back from the pile of loot.
[15:34] <Amonet> "In a way," Amonet allows. "They are known to have ways to hunt down their equipment and kill those in possession of it."
[15:34] <Gourash> "Naw, more...  fancy legions sometimes come after their stuff."
[15:36] <Usagi> "Oh..." Linda nods understandingly. "Sounds a lot like those Dark Elves... What are you going to do with it, then? I guess selling it would just put someone else in danger."
[15:37] <Gourash> "Someone will buy it," Gourash nodded. "Just got to wait a bit."
[15:42] * Gourash leans back, eying his remaining companions.
[15:44] <Usagi> Linda just looks slightly out of sorts, uneasily eyeing the previously appealing pile of loot in the corner. After a moment of silence, she addresses Amonet, "You know, you don't look much older than me," she observes of the Aasimar. "How'd you get into the wandering adventurer stuff?"
[15:46] <Amonet> "Oh, I must become stronger and gather allies before my eventual bid for the throne!" Amonet tells her proudly, before her face falls. "I fear that day is still very, very far away...."
[15:47] * Gourash snorts, amused.
[15:47] <Usagi> "Throne?" Linda sits down between Gourash and Amonet, studying the latter. "Are you royalty?"
[15:49] <Amonet> "From very far away," Amonet responds with a nod.
[15:50] <Usagi> "Somewhere down South, I take it?" the teenage ranger asks.
[15:51] * Gourash grunts. "You think they'll be there when you get back?"
[15:52] <Amonet> "We are the direct descendents of Horus-Re's avatar!" Amonet says with great pride. "Of course our line shall not perish!"
[15:54] <Gourash> "Sure gal, sure," Gourash leaned back, letting her go on.
-------
[15:27] * Alveria leans against the side of a building near the outskirts of town, holding her head in one hand and visibly shaking. "Didn't ask for it... didn't ask for it..." she mutters, again and again.
[15:28] <Varul> Varul follows, pace long and ground covering as he catches up. Ignoring the other people he approaches, ears listening. "Hey," he calls, any annoyance buried into a netural facade for now.
[15:28] <Usagi> No villagers are especially close, and those in sight don't seem inclined to bother the heroes of their small town this early in the morning.
[15:29] * Alveria whirls around, plastering herself up against the wall. "I swear it wasn't my fault! They wouldn't let me leave afterwards, but I did anyway, because it wasn't fair!"
[15:31] <Varul> '...women.' Varul sighs again, almost wishing he was limp wristed and pansy. Almost. "I see. 'course it wasn't fair. Usually isn't." Laconically Varul positions himself at Alveria's side, also hopefully in grabbing range if she sprints off again. No need to be THAT active before lunch if he can help it, dammit. "That we're talkin' about this means it happened, though. Gotta cope with it, just like how you gotta cope with an arrow in the gu
[15:32] <Alveria> Gotta cope with it, just like how you gotta cope with an arrow in the gu-
[15:32] <Varul> just like how you gotta cope with an arrow in the gut."
[15:35] * Alveria winces at the words. "Doesn't stop it being any less bullshit," she mutters. "Madmen and madwomen cope with their own insanity by declaring themselves sane, and the world to be the opposite," she adds. "Githyanki, after me? I never needed more proof. Yeah, I'm dandy."
[15:38] <Varul> "Sure." Varul agrees blandly, withholding any hint of how he feels personally. He crosses his arms, "So what happened? What pissed off those yellow skinned bastards so much that they want you? Oh, and somehow...you're wild, you're annoying and you might be a bit dislodged, but you don't seem quite insane."
[15:41] <Alveria> "Yeah? A-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha! Oh no, I'm more insane than anyone! Just 'cos I realise it doesn't make it go away." Alveria snorts. "Don't know why they want me. But you know I'm supposed to be in an asylum, or some goddamn tower, and not out here in the world?" She calms down a bit, looking thoughtful. "Yes, the elves of evermeet didn't want to set forth such an unflattering representative. If you must know... there was a ritual of
[15:42] <Alveria> "Don't know the details. Couldn't understand at the time. Something to do with Limbo. Went wrong... someTHING escaped, something that found me," she continues, clutching at her face again. "It's! In! My! Head! It! Will! Not! Go! Away!"
[15:42] <Alveria>  of some kind." (More.)
[15:42] <Alveria> "And it's the best and worst thing that ever happened to me."
[15:45] <Varul> Varul measures Alveria, listening to her spill. "In that case, we know what we need to look into at Silverymoon. DUnno much about magic, but I do know that what goes in can come back out. Oh, and if you have that Lich Queen inside of you, I'm gonna hurt you."T he last is said with a ever so slight smile. "But yeah, that sounds like possession or whatever you folks call it."
[15:47] <Alveria> "That's the simple way of putting it..." she mutters. "Yeah. Silverymoon. Githyanki can't scry on me there. Can't hold onto their gear, they'll trace it. They love their idiot swords more than they love their wives."
[15:49] <Varul> "Then we'll stash it somewhere and get it later. At worst, it rots in a hole until the next age. Either works for me." Varul shrugs lightly. "C'mon, you need to tell the others. It's not right if you're going to have us along and not inform us that you're posssess and the Gith have a death wish for you."
[15:49] <Varul> *possessed.
[15:50] <Alveria> "Would YOU tell people you're possessed?" says Alveria, suddenly. "Hi, guys! Please take me in your little adventuring group! By the way, I'm possessed by the very essence of insantity, so I might accidentally blow you all up. But I'm really good, honest!"
[15:51] * Alveria just shakes her head. "I even made myself forget."
[15:52] * Alveria does pick herself up properly, though, and beings slowly slouching her way back towards where everyone else is.
[15:52] <Varul> "We've kept with you so far." Varul shrugs again, unmoved. "...and damn it, it's not right to leave you in this state. Lady Amonet would say the same thing in some flowery way, too."
[15:52] <Varul> 'Why her? Did I piss of Lathander?' Varul sighs mentally, wishing he could thump his morality a few dozen times. Oh well.
-------
[15:54] * Alveria flops back in the door, immediately marching over to her bag. "Silvermoon, we're going there."
[15:55] <Gourash> "Hmph," Gourash took a minute to eye the following Varul.
[15:56] <Amonet> "Friend Alveria, you are better!" Amonet exclaims. "Did you and Sir Varul have a pleasant chat?"
[15:56] <Alveria> "Or.. well, I'll be honest, dammit. Yeah, Githyanki are after me, but I didn't know all along or anything," she continues, packing together her things. "They want.. um, something that I didn't steal, but can't just give back."
[15:56] <Varul> Varul is rather expressionless, going back to his seat and looking to Alveria.
[15:57] <Usagi> "What are they after?" Linda asks, getting up. "It must be something big from the way that letter sounded!"
[15:58] <Alveria> "It's not a material item," mutters Alveria. "They want something in my head. To get it, they'd probably need to cut it open."
[15:58] <Gourash> "Eh.." Gourash doesn't look pleased with the turn of the events, but grunts in brief understanding.
[16:00] <C> "That is horrible!" Amonet cries out in dismay. "We shall not let them cut your head open and mess with your brains!"
[16:01] <Varul> "Yeah, zombies gave it a hack at us awhile back. Didn't take then, either," Varul murmurs. "The idea is to go to Silverymoon and see if we can find help there."
[16:02] <Gourash> "Well, if that's where we're going, that's where we're going," Gourash got up.
[16:04] * Alveria shoulders her lightweight bag, containing only a few essentials and her spellbook. "Yes. Going. Haha.. we'd better bury their stuff somewhere or get rid of it, I don't want to risk it pointing a finger back to where I am or anything. Probably be real hard to find a buyer, too."
[16:05] <Gourash> "Mmm..." Gourash looks more displeased at that. "Awful little take for the risk..."
[16:05] <Amonet> "Yes, we should not leave it at the village where these people can be hurt!" Amonet agrees.
[16:06] <Usagi> "Yeah, especially after we went to all the trouble of saving everyone!" Linda nods emphatically.
[16:06] <Varul> "Still have the bastard sword," Varul nods in agreement as well. "Still - we can come back for it later once things die down. 'least in theory, or until we find a good way to unload it."
[16:07] <Alveria> "Say, Linda. You know a good place where we could hide some stuff?" asks Alveria, curiously. "A ways away from the village?"
[16:07] <Alveria> "Some cave that nobody uses, or a deep hole, or something like that?"
[16:08] <Usagi> "Hmm?" Linda looks thoughtful a moment, before lighting up, "Yeah! There's these old mines about a day's journey away - on the same way towards Silverymoon anyway. They were filled with Kobolds until like last year when these adventurers cleaned them out - I heard they were really deep, though."
[16:10] <Alveria> "How's that sound, guys? I dunno if this will ever really be 'cleaned up', but you never know..."
[16:11] <Varul> "Works," Varul grunts, getting up as well.
[16:11] <Usagi> "I can come with you at least that far to show the way," Linda offers, going to grab her ratty old bow and chain shirt.
[16:15] <Alveria> "Ok! Let's go!" says Alveria, sounding cheerful again, all of a sudden. "And geez, we've really got to think about this whole fighting thing better. Gourash is charging in a good hundred feet ahead of Amonet and Varul, and I'm off in the clouds... geez, maybe that leader thing wouldn't be a bad idea, after all.."
[16:16] <Varul> "If we can find one. Gourash is Gourash and you're not really up to it yet." Varul continues on as they go, "Are any of us suited to it?"
[16:17] * Gourash grunts.
[16:17] <Alveria> "Hah, I so have great plans! I'm always completely aware of where everyone is," replies Alveria, nodding. "Can't aim fireballs to miss you by inches without being like that!"
[16:19] <Varul> "...right." Varul shakes his head at that, "What about Lady Amonet?"
[16:20] * Gourash laughs rudely.
[16:21] <Alveria> "I dunno, but she'd be better than someone whose approach to battle is to stop thinking, I guess," reflects Alveria.
[16:22] <Amonet> "As loath as I am to descend to this level, I must agree," she says, giving Gourash an icy stare.
[16:22] <Varul> "Mmmm." Varul glances sidelong at Gourash, but moves away. "Aramas...well..." A glance at the quiet mage, but little is said. "Hey, everyone needs someone to go occupy the spearhead."
[16:25] <Alveria> "Yeah, but it's no good if they hit one person, and then get hit back ten times," replies Alveria, frowning.
[16:25] <Alveria> "If he was a more defensive sort, I guess, but the way we're going, we've really gotta make sure everyone goes down before they can hit back."
[16:25] * Gourash raises an eyebrow. "Yes, princess..." He laughed again. "It's not my fault you all are so slow."
[16:26] <Amonet> "Cautious is the word your dictionary might be lacking, I believe," she returns.
[16:26] <Alveria> "CAUTIOUS! That's right, if we're cautious about when we utilize our heedleses, crazy, do-or-die offensives, perhaps we'll have more sucess!"
[16:26] <Gourash> "Standing I think was yours?" Gourash remindered her.
[16:27] <Amonet> "I was struck down while coming to your aid," she says with a frown. "Do pardon my temporary leave of senses. It shall not happen again, I feel."
[16:29] * Gourash snorts. "This sounds like a bunch of drunken young whelps boasting over which was least incompetent." Gourash turns to head out. "Grunt when something actually worth saying is in your empty head."
[16:29] * Gourash departs the hut.
[16:30] <Varul> Varul shakes his head and sighs, but adds nothing. Oh well, baby steps?
[16:30] <Amonet> "I shall leave the grunting to you, my friend," she says with another frown, before looking at Alveria and Varul. "So, then. I take it I am not the only one who believes more can be achieved from not merely charging in each time?"
[16:31] <Alveria> "Oh, no, charging in is the very core of our strategy, it seems," notes Alveria. "It's all about timing, though."
[16:31] <Alveria> "We need to time the charge so that everyone evil dies at the end of it. It's quite hard, but I'm sure it's doable!"
[16:31] * Amonet nods slowly. "Such a skill is worth learning, yes."
[16:34] <Alveria> "It's pretty situational, but I think the best bet is to get as many bad guys in one spot as possible," reflects Alveria. "See, then I can fireball them, and then you can do the whole charging in thing."
[16:35] <Usagi> "It's hard to defend yourself after you've been blown up," Linda chimes in supportively.
[16:35] <Alveria> "That fort back there? I bet if we'd all crowded around the little gap, they'd have come there to stop us. If they hadn't, then you'd take them apart one at a time; if they do, I blow them up, and then you take them apart in one big swing!"
[16:36] <Amonet> "Working side by side, and not separated, surrounded by our evil enemies, does sounds most agreeable," Amonet voices.
[16:37] <Alveria> "Yeah. If you're all split up, too, I can't do as much myself," adds Alveria. "It's a bit limited, but most of what I've got hits a wide area, not just one target or someting at a time..."
[16:37] <Amonet> "And we could also draw off their attentions, while you could cloak yourself with magic, and come from the other direction to free the hostages!" she suggests next. "Then, we shall be free to fight in earnest without worrying about their safety!"
[16:39] <Varul> "Beats bleeding," Varul chimes in with his own agreement.
[16:40] <Alveria> "Hmm. Obviously things change by what we're facing- if we're up against someone else with big spells, then we may want to be spread out further," reflects Alveria. "I guess it's hard to say."

Guys, I want to sacrifice one of the Gith things we can't sell (probably the shield or one of the breastplates) to awaken the spirits of my shield, so that they might provide me fire resistance +10.  >_>

Anyway, I'd like to propose that if we do find any buyers for that stuff, return to take it to them and still find it hidden away safely, I'd just pay for it normally at that time. Thoughts?

Works for me in both cases.

No problem here.

Just jot it down.

We should resolve the items still in possession and which are sold soon (boots of levitation).

Finally added the gold.
Bought 4 cure moderate potions for a total of 600, so that's 150 to go to each of the other party members?

anyhow... should be  good to go.
