"As you say.. er, Kwok's not gonna find us if we hide *too* well. Could be a problem. Ah, well. He can take care of himself. I hope."

Carthrat moves to find his own hiding spot, as close as possible to Priss's without being in it..

As Kwok stealthy snuck along, low to the ground and hiding from the sights of the rogue soldiers...he heard a 'crunch' beneath his foot...

"Who goes there!"

Four guns were trained on his position.

Shinichi scanned the surroundings with infra-red, trying to see whether there were any openings or hidden panels to indicate a trap, like Genma said.

Shinichi decided to try and use the magnifying feature of his glasses to examine the passage before him for anything that might indicate a trap, like thin fractions which could be the result of two rock brought very closely together artificially. He's use night vision at need, and inspect the walls and ceiling next, unless he finds something suspicious. If he does find anything of the sort, he would try to spend more time examining it from his spot, before continuing the examination.

At the very close zoom examination, Shinichi saw what Genma had earlier, slight apparent slits in the rock running up and down all along the tunnel.

"I want to see if we can call out the monster," she said to Genma.

Speaking in almost a shout, she talks towards the darkness, believing the monstor snoring couldn't resist such a wonderful idea as she was about to unfold.

"Hey Guys, have you read my new fic, it's so cooool.   Jared 'skysaber' Ornestead is warped into Ranma's body.  He then proceeds to go to Juban and kill those nasty outers slowly and painfully while convincing the others how right he is  - they are marxist communists, and therefor follw Darwin and believe in their own greatness.   The inners see the light and bow down and worship him, much sex is had as Jim bader writes the lemons scenes for me with all five inners and Ranma-chan.   Nabiki finds out, tries to extort money, but Jared... I mean Ranma is too good for that and he convinces her to join the orgy as the lave for his desires."

She takes a breath, eyeing the room for the monsters entrance before continuing, "Does that sound excellent or what!"

Looking about in the fury and the rage, she spotted Carthrat ducked behind a car maybe five feet away.

"Hey!" She hissed, as loudly as she dared to avoid catching the rebels attention. "Here's an equation for you! Rebels + CT = Black Moon... CT + BM + *Us* = We gotta get our asses OUT of here before Serenity sends us off to the Dark Side!"

With that she started looking for a good way of getting out without getting spoted. Or failing that, doing a really good job of convincing any appearing senshi that she was on THEIR side... @_@

Genma shook his head as Doujima shouted into the darkness, leaping backwards to flee quickly.  Shinichi hardly a step behind him as the thunderous roar traversed the cavern.  Doujima quickly found herself alone as she moved backwards...  A wave of heat impacting her before the storm...   the last thing she saw was simply white light traveling towards her, the cavern seeming to twist and distort as it came blindingly fast at her.

As Genma and Shinichi dove for saftey, a column of superheated plasma blasted forth, tearing out of the tunnel...  Genma's felt a searing pain as he landed, his back burned by the blast.  Shinichi landed in a crouch, barely managing to shield his face as the blast gave him a painful sunburn over most his flesh.

Slowly the column fell back down...  the whole cavern still feeling quite warm though.

Ladyhawke nodded carefully to show she understood what Carthrat was getting at, then slowly rose to a sort of stooped running position and started moving in the same general direction as Carthrat.

As she moved, she casually unhooked the 'peace guards' holding her saber and hawk locked down on her belt making it possible to tear the weapons from their resting place at a moment's notices, possible even less.  Her eyes darted about looking for a GOOD target upon whom to inflict as much pain as she could achieve upon short notice...

Carthrat noted windows in the higher floors.  If he found his way inside, they would probably provide a higher vantage point to view the situation from.  Otherwise there was always the alley they'd been hiding in earlier to hide in away from the crowd...

He lost sight of Ladyhawke as she went down in the crowd.

Violence ruled the streets as the creature moved closer into view, carving a swath of death and destruction through the street with four clawed arms.  The skewered body of Sailor Venus hung limply from one of it's claws, her blood drenching the black claw crimson.  The thing stood at least fifteen feet high and another twenty long.  It's bladed legs swished this way and that as it slaughtered all who came within reach indiscriminately.  Gunshots rang as they bounced off of it's thick chitoneous hide.

A grenade went off, briefly obscuring Carthrat's vision as it devestated a portion of the street.

Staying crouched down low, Genma moved carefully into the room, pulling out a piece of chalk and putting a small mark on each tile that activated a trap while avoiding placing any weight on them.  Moving cautiously, he tested each tile with the crowbar before he moved onto it.

OOC: In this way, he's going to move into the room and check the rest of it for traps.

Much of the floor seemed trapped, triggering darts from the various bonsai when pressed.  The tiles near the front door triggering one or both of the bonsai near that door, the ones near each of the three doors, triggering the bonsai on the left of them, and the ones near the center triggering seemingly random shots from the bonsai.

Behind the door on the right, Shinichi saw...

A HORROR BEYOND IMAGING!  SOMETHING SO FRIGHTENING THAT THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE CANNOT EVEN...

Oh wait, that's just a library.  Nothing to fear here.  ^_~

On the far door, he saw a staircase, spiraling upwards.  Both routes well lit.

Shinichi scanned both rooms with the zooming feature of his glasses the same way he had back in the cave, looking for any possible trap.

Shinichi followed his scan with infra-red, trying to see whether there were any heat sources that weren't visible to the naked eye in the rooms.

Nope.  No heat sources that weren't visible with the naked eye here.

Shinichi stepped onto the stairwell, and looked above, trying to estimate how high it went.

The stairway curved up what appeared to be about two floor distance.

"We might as well try to go up," Shinichi told Genma, before ascending the stairwell cautiously, his eyes looking for traps.

Shinichi saw no traps.

Rising one floor, Shinichi stopped, gun in his right hand and his pen held in a guarding position in the left, and took a look around.

The stairway had a slight pause, a wider plane area, but didn't have an exit there.

Shinichi examined the area more closely for a hidden exit.

If he doesn't find one, he'll go up one more floor exactly the same way he had before.

Shinichi couldn't find a hidden exit.

Going upstairs, he found an ornate goldent door with a red handle at the end of the stairwell.

Shinichi carefully examined the golden door and the handle, without touching them.

The gold door seemed to be finely engraved with an image of a phoenix over it.  The handle is some solid red stone coming out of it.

Frowning, Shinichi scanned the edges of the door, where it met the walls and floor, to see whether the heat was only in the door itself. He also tried to scan beyond the door and walls, to see whether there were any heat sources in the room beyond.

The heat was only in the door itself and he could sense small heat sources in the room beyond.  The looked sort of torch sized.

Shinichi relayed his findings to Genma over the radio, and settled to wait for his companion.

The door was an ornate golden door with a red handle.  Engraved into it was an artwork of a phoenix.

Genma ran an experienced eye over the door handle and frame, looking for any telltale signs that might indicate that it was trapped.

Genma's trained thief eyes did not see any sign of tampering that might indicate a trap.

"I don't see any traps, but I can't be sure that there isn't something magical," Genma relayed to Shinichi as he gazed at the door in thought.

The handle....

moved downwards only slightly resisting against the pushing force of the gun.

Wondering, why the door didn't just open when he pushed the handle down, Shinichi pushed it forward with his gun, without moving it from the handle.

The door slid open revealing a grand room filled with indications of wealth.  Here a large grandfather clock gilded in gold.  There a towering statue of solid crystal.

And at the far end, a single comfortable looking chair sat, it's huge back to them, facing a large fireplace.

"Wait here," Genma whispered softly to Shinichi.

Wrapping himself in the Goshin Dai Ryü Sei Fu, Genma examined the floor beyond the door.

The room was opulantly decorated.  While there could be traps anywhere with the sheer amount of decor, his danger sense wasn't being disturbed by that...but more by the chair.  A sense of utter "DANGER WILL ROBINSON DANGER" eminated from the soft cushy looking chair.

There in the chair, sitting with a book over in his hands, slowly sucking on a lollipop, was a young man in glowing platemail with flaming red hair.  His eyes were closed, apparently asleep.  Twin magnificant blades sat sheathed at his sides.  Even asleep a powerful force of charisma shone off of him, his skin vibrant and glowing.
