With these 2 facts
1: Posting to an Addventure is fun, as evidenced by Ebiris's, Brian's, and my thread on the Anime Addventure about Haruka and Michiru vs the Pod People.
2: The Anime Addventure is populated almost entirely by cocksmoking retards like PsyckoSama and Bolt_Crank
it seems clear that the only rational -- nay, JUST -- solution is t have a SoulRiders Addventure. Dracos has said he will host it but does not have time to modertae it. I have volunteered tomod it with a firm but fair rule that brooks no retardation. Now all we need is the addventure program.
odin took one look at the addventure code and sait it was "terrible shit", and Dracos says that Bast's code is so shit-tastic he refuses to put it on the SoulRiders server. So the call goes out to you, noble geeks of SR -- Forge for us an Addventure program, that we might create a new Golden Age of choose-your-own-adventure styled shenanigans!
please?
As a card carrying member of the Anime Addventure's population of quote-unquote "cocksmoking retards", I would like to point out that one should not judge the entire community by the opinions and behavior of a few outspoken individuals within it.
That being said, I would like the opportunity to help engineer an Addventure program. I regret to say that I have very little experience in doing such, since I am only a sophomore in computer science and most of my experience in software creation deals with game creation, but I would not mind doing considerable amounts of grunt work in coding and any other miscellaneous tasks. So, if this project does go underway, don't hesitate to call on me to perform mind-numbing amounts of debugging or research or anything else. That is really all I do in game programming anyway, so it's not as if it is a step down in any significant way.
I am well versed in C++. On the other hand, any other language that is required of me is simply a weekend of reading at the campus bookstore away.

I said it was almost all cocksmokers -- there can be good people there, but I don't think they should have to put up with Bolt's "HAY GUYS A DUDE FROM THE INTERNET CAME TO MY HOUSE AND I KICKED HIS ASS", Red's "Holy fuck somebody left an open option LET'S ADD GOLDDIGGERS TO IT", or anything involving "Furries 4 U". Which is why a seperate addventure for people who don't suck is a good idea.
I don't think the Addventure is -quite- as fucked up as Unseen claims it is. Morons will just be morons.
That said, I'm interested in an SR Addventure. I won't guarantee posting much on one, but I am interested.
If you guys build it, the slime shall post on it.
An SR addventure sounds like a good idea to me.
Well, I'm giving it a shot. Unfortuantely the tools I know the most aren't an option here. So i'm going to make a stab at it with mysql and perl.
I'm having problems coming up with a schema for the database that dosen't require foreign keys. :(
ok, im plugging away at designing the sql queries, and now I need to know if there is going to be a desire to moderate who can post in the adventure. Ovbously there are going to be people who can moderate it.
But are the moderators going to pick and choose the people allowed to post in it?
First off:
Those who want to be moderators for this project, post here. Huitz has indicated interest, but I'm not a believer in a single moderator for anything that goes 24/7.

Out of curiosity, what are the specific duties of an Addventure Mod? As far as I know (being outsider looking in), Bast! deletes spam, fix mistakes, arbitrates flamewars, and modifies coding behind the scenes. Is there any more to it?
I'd be interested in a trial run at being a moderator. In any case, I'll probably be critiquing here as well, if such a need arises.

I volunteered myself as mod. I shall rule with a fist gloved in velvet.
Basically: Management. Deleting spam, addressing any troublesome users, helping with any editting that is done, and setting a good example for those who'd be participating.

Hmm... would i be allowed to post at this new addventure?

GoldDiggers threads shall be nuked from orbit. Then the land where they stood shall be salted so that nothing may ever grow there again.
Rifty:
Yes.
So, what's the progress on the Addventure anyhow? *curiously*
Onigiri is still working away at it, has much of it working but still has it in the testing phases.
Dracos
It's coming along ok!
a few minor things left and the main part of the program will be complete! Now to create the moderator stuff! woo
Yay for Riceball!
