Which is way better than virtually everyone who reports to me. So mostly try and make sure they have longer roads if I can.

This is written mostly as slice-of-life, a personal "write what you know" piece to try and get me writing more regularly again after so long away from it. Basically, it's me, 15-ish years in the future, having retired and decided that I was REALLY bored (which is an all too real scenario in my case).
As for plot, it starts simply as a "isn't this a cool game", then turns into a "how can I push things in an interesting way", and is now currently in a "actual conflict with a local guild" phase. Wasn't sure how I am going to end that, or even keep it for that matter.
Also, hadn't realized I was switching tenses so much. One of my greatest failings in my writing is getting past the "immediate scene." I have scenes in my head, and I can write those easily enough (usually), the trick is always connecting multiple scenes into a coherent story. I suspect that the change of writing (including tenses) comes with try to move things along at a pace that won't bore other readers. My first attempt at this was literally writing out everything... and in reading what I wrote, even I quickly found it tedious and boring.
