Soulriders 5.0: Coming Soon

It's been a number of years since the last time we did a major update.

As SMF 2.0 has recently gone stable, I'm going to begin investigating a migration path to it starting this weekend.   I'll be updating here with the details of the update.

Awesome. What should the theme of SR 5.0 be? I mean, this one has been TTGL, how about some variety?

Okay, having read over, I'm going to be starting it soon.  SR will be locked when I start as I will be having to turn off all the security mods before I update for safety.

I've just gotten a whole site backup made for emergency as well.

Okay, let's see:

Upgrade is complete.  We do have a backup of it entirely as it was beforehand but we probably aren't going back.

Only Cerberus theme survived the update, and not well really.  We can replace these.  Feel free to look through: http://custom.simplemachines.org/themes/ for 2.x themes and make requests on the comment topic.  If folks want cerberus to stay around, please comment, otherwise it will be removed as it does have several formatting problems.

Similarly all mods have been removed.  I have a list of current ones which I'll be looking to reinstall if needed, but just a heads up: http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/ feel free to look through and make requests.

There looks to be a WYSIWYG post editor.  Thoughts on it folks?  Not exactly sure it really adds much, but that's my 'it's just bbscript' view.

Folks can set secret questions in order to help them with account retrieval it seems.
