Moore takes the belt out to figure it out!

Take 10 for 74 on Spellcraft.

This belt is an identifer. When worn by an efreet, it sends out a magical signal that interacts with things attuned to it.

If worn by a non efreet it doesn't function, but sufficient Use Magic Device could fool it.

[Nephrite]

Take 10 on UMD for 74, then Spellcraft for 74 to see if he can tell if it's 'working'.

[Anastasia]

It is working - but oh that's something. There's a secondary enchantment that's now active, sending a different magical signal as well, one independent of the first one.

[Nephrite]

Can he identify what that is?

[Anastasia]

It seems to be sending an entirely different magical signal to something else altogether.

[Nephrite]

Hmm... is it a tracking signal so they know where they are? Well, that's fine.

For right now, he'll go ahead towards the traps to see what he can do to disable them with the belt!

[Anastasia]

You open the door ahead, opening into a hall. Statues of salamanders are on either side, the roof high and decorated with red gems that resemble flickering flames.  A door is on the far side, ahead.

The fire dwarf points, "You can go, the belt will keep you safe, if it works for you."

[Nephrite]

Moore tentatively goes ahead!

[Anastasia]

Do you want the others following?

[Nephrite]

No, he's going to make sure nothing happens when he enters it first. Once he's like a third of the way through he'll go back and have everyone else follow so they're close enough to him.

[Anastasia]

Nothing happens, as expected and hoped. "Looks good," Kaja calls, "Plus we're giving them time to gather up, so we can slaughter them all at once."

Jetina glances at him sidelong, "We should be taking prisoners," she says, "The efreet here are guilty of horrid crimes, but many of the slaves and elementals are not, as they are forced."

[Nephrite]

Moore will lead the way through the trapped area with everyone!

"They'll be punished, either by our hand or another." Moore agrees.

[Anastasia]

"Yes, but mercy is a virtue," Cresiel agrees, "Peace, Kaja."

"Aye," Kaja lets it go at that, merely bowing his head a moment to Cresiel, "Prisoners of the innocent it is."

You reach the end of the hallway without incident.
