That said it kinda has me raising my eyebrow a lot.  Tattletale outright plays around with the impression of family kidnapping...which I can't see Grue in any way wanting to be near, whether it did really happen or not.  The magical deus-ex-video (which the actual detailed scene doesn't really provide options for being filmed and is involving events in a 30ish minute ago time frame) is bad enough, but basically escalating with family kidnapping for a job offer from the undersiders is basically asking for them to get their faces punched in.

I'm not going to lie, I don't really care for the fic. It's not bad, but it feels like a largely generic fix fic. It gilds the lily differently than most with some interesting bits, but the structure feels the same. It's just...shallow, in a way that feels it's more like a vehicle for fluff than a serious Worm fic. Which is a shame, since there's some good ideas in there.

This probably comes down to the fic not being a good match for me rather than any flaw.

I typically don't let no prior knowledge of a fandom prevent me from reading good fanfiction. Sure it helps, but it can also serve as and introduction to the series.

This is actually how I got into anime & fanfiction as a whole.

I am long sick of being a notorious lich.  Who says that a lich cannot be a good person?  I will definitely find a way to triumph over this damned system and be an upright and dignified good man.

The part that may appeal is that this is definitely D&D based (probably Forgotten Realms, but I'm not well enough versed to really say for sure).

Not much I can say without spoilers that wasn't already mentioned in the summary.  My impression of the author is that he is probably the type of person to come up with the Head of Vecna.
