It's because I worked at a bookstore.  I've donated so many books to charity or given them to friends over the years because of space concerns....

Well -- tonight, games and electronics.  Yay, packing!

Well, he has an iPad.

But if he's anything like me, deadtree books are a precious thing.
Same here.  I love me some deadtree books.  I have a kindle not to save on space or anything but because I love books so much, I NEED TO HAVE ALL SOURCES TO THEM.  The end. :)

Also, the kindle is great for picking up free books that I've always wanted to read but couldn't justify spending money on, like certain classics and whatnot.
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

I have a Kindle that's very handy for reading random things, but dead-tree books are precious. (If there's anything the Kindle obsoletes, it's cruddy little paperbacks; now that I have a Kindle, if I want a dead-tree book I want a good, sturdy hardback one.) The one is physical, reassuringly apocalypse-proof and can be used to hold up tables; the other can be used to take fanfics with me to class.

Anastasia

Have to agree there. Something about thick, heavy, hardback books is precious.

Video games and a few other assorted things packed.  Takes me to the 50% mark.  I should be able to finish tomorrow.

...which will incidentally take me offline for, oh, probably a day and a half, come to think of it.  Just as an FYI. >.>

Slept in.  Woke up in time to call in to a meeting at work.

Have half the day off to sort things out post-move.

Things seem to be working out. :)

State Farm just updated their corporate laptops from Windows XP to Windows 7 on the 31st in a giant rollout. I'm the only one in my office who knows a damn thing about Win7. Suddenly my opinion is Extremely Valuable, And Would You Mind Going To Mr. So&So's Office To Train Them For $100/hour? :D

It was only two hours, but still.

Anastasia

That's more than I made in a single week working, with heavy, dangerous labor. Clearly my work comes too cheap.

Clearly you're underpaid. I make $500/week part time.

I think Yuth is just overpaid.  Probably out of fear.

I got someone to stand up out of their chair and leave the building purely by being as annoying as possible without saying any words. I'm so proud of myself I could explode.

I slept ten hours and feel great.

Les Miserable was amazing.  The new tour is just as good as the original.
