New video card seems to have resolved the issues my old one was having.

And I got an extra copy of Bioshock: Infinite to give to a friend.

Today is going well.

Almost ... too well.

The new wire is still causing mild aching, but I'm getting over it.  I managed to get that scene to a better state with some help.  I solved the issue that was blocking me at work, and am on schedule.  My boss came down on me like a wrathful god insisting I find some disks that were missing, and my records show that he's responsible for taking them.

Maybe I'll just ruin it by being stressed and thinking the other shoe must drop at some point?

Job interview count+1. Yay.

At this point an interview at the local supermarket's big news. Stupid economy.

I am now the lab manager.  "Responsibility shift," instead of proper promotion, but better than being unemployed.

I'm going to guess that after a few months when the company's financial situation calms down, they'll make it an official title change ... if I do a good enough job to keep on.

Actually, yes.  The really big bonus is that I will be moving downstairs, back to the third floor.

I'll miss some of my co-workers, but it'll be _awesome_ to not have to sit right next to my mom. >_>

That sounds additional win, because it sounded previously like you were set up for abuse :\

Not abuse, per se, but working with your mom is kind of unfun.

Oh, no, I meant about the drives.  It sounded like this kind of setup:

Brian: *Plan to have drives tracked*
Manager: *Destroys plan!*
Brian: *sigh, works anyway*
Manager: *Promotes brian to make him responsible for drives*
Brian: *Still has no authority*
Manager: *Has someone to blame when destroyed plan goes apeshit*
