Personality notes?

Ami has largely been a spectator to the dramatic events occuring within her friends' lives, her tendency to withdraw into her books when things become too tense or stressful has been particularly telling. Between school and working with Usagi to restore the palace on the moon, no one has seen her much lately.

In fact, there are times where she has seemed to drop off the face of the Earth entirely for a few hours at a time, though no one has realized this yet, as her mother tends to assume she's gone out to her 'other life' as a Sailor Senshi, and her friends, due to her habit of keeping to herself, assume that she is at home.

-I plan to have her show an interest in learning to defend herself better. Her lack of ability in combat would become a practical issue. She won't pursue it as a means of competetion with the fighters of the group, but more so that she's less of a liability in hand to hand to hand fighting.

-Possible personality quirk: She's rather focused when working on a project, so I figure she's pulled a few all nighters. Add some 'geek' (>.>;) habits, like a caffiene dependency, perhaps?

-I want to expand her interest in books a little. Not a Yomiko Readman, by any means, but her carrying around textbooks all the time is a little boring. I plan on expanding her horizons a little. From the good (e.g. Shakespeare, Hemmingway, etc) to the 'bad' (Manga, Romance novels.) >.>

-As for the 'blank spots' I mentioned above, panda's idea about a thief is interesting, but instead, I'd like to tone it down a little...Basically, have her learning 'Politically Incorrect' Skills she thinks she might need. (Lockpicking, etc) Might even be able to work in a bit of a story, if Ami is learning these things from a punk of some sort. (Perhaps someone she's tutored who's willing to return the favor?)

^^; Anyway, these are just random thoughts, not concrete plans, so feel free to scuttle them if they don't work.

I wasn't sure on level of Heightened Senses, though I know it was at least level 2.
It may have been level 3 or 4 though.

Also, I don't know how the mechanical skills came into play with Ami, or if she
even spent points in it. I went to the 2nd Ed book if points -were- spent, and
used the following as reference:

Mechanical Genius
Cost: 2 points/level
Relevant Stat: Mind
   The Character has an innate knack for creating, modifying, and working
with complex machines. Unlike someone who is merely well trained in a particular
technical skill, the character with Mechanical Genius is a natural, and is able
to flip through a tech manual for an advanced-technology mecha in 30 seconds and
figure out a way to repair the machine in an hour or so. Every two levels of
Mechanical Genius (round up) also adds _1 Level to the Electronics and Mechanics
Skills.

Level 1: repair/build at 2x normal speed
Level 2: repair/build at 5x normal speed
Level 3: repair/build at 10x normal speed
Level 4: repair/build at 20x normal speed
Level 5: repair/build at 50x normal speed
Level 6: repair/build at 100x normal speed

Of course, maybe Panda and Dune treated it differently, I was just using it as
reference. However, everything above Heightened Senses is accurate to Ami's
old sheet.

I would imagine before he left he might likely have spent a point on combat
mastery though, to raise her overall CVs. I wasn't sure though, so left that
blank.

Mercury Frost Shrike

Ami raises her hands over her head, feet planted firmly apart. Sparkling water vapor strands begin spiraling inward to her hands to shape into a
watery, glistening bird, then she spins around and opens her hands to fire it horizontally, with it solidifying into a jagged and lethal looking Shrike as it leaves her hands.

Upon impact, the Shrike latches onto the enemy with its talons and engulfs its prey in it's wings before exploding in hundreds of sharp icy shards!

Area attack!

Rather than a talon attack, when Ami aims the attack a group, the bird doesn't attack directly, but instead stand off, and flaps it's wings once, hard. Said wings then gust polar winds and sharp Ice shards down on groups of attackers.

Ami has never been particularly physically robust, but the Celcia incident left her with vulnerability to heat that stops just shy of crippling. Temperatures other people would find normal are uncomfortable for her. A warm summer's day is comparable to a desert for her, and if the day is particularly hot, she dare not venture outdoors for fear of serious effects to her health.  

Marked -2

Celcia left another lasting impression, visible to all. Ami's eyes, previously a pretty, if unremarkable blue, are now tinted solid blue, no white found in them at all, and a continous, eerie snowfall seen behind her irises. A pair of prescription sunglasses hides this from the world at large, though the predictable muttering among other students at Mugen has begun over the unavoidably attention getting eyewear.

Recurring Nightmares -2 (Celcia)

While dealing with Celcia, Ami was approached by loved ones in a series of hyperrealistic dreams in which they forcibly had their way with Ami sexually. As Ami considered the visions dreams, she thought them little more than products of her repressed libido. However, finding out Celcia orchestrated them rattled the young Genius badly. Understandable, since she was also wounded greviously-as a consequence, Ami continues to have frequent has vivid nightmares about being tortured and raped by Celcia.

It's not common knowledge to more than a few, but Ami is attracted to both men and women. Her first love was Makoto Kino, but she's had feelings for a few boys as well, a sempai and the human form of her Mau advisor Artemis among them. Currently, she's tentatively dating Natsume Kusanagi.

Immunity to Cold
Cost: 1 point/level
Relevant stat: None

   Exactly what it sounds like. Ami's spiritual and physical makeup have rendered her utterly immune to cold, and cold based attacks. In the same way that she's extremely vulnerable to heat, Ami is invulnerable to cold, theoretically even to absolute Zero (She is understandably reluctant to put this theory to the test.)
Cold based attacks are similarly ineffective, as Ami's almost inhuman mastery of ice and water, combined with her immunity to low temperatures make even a concerted cold attacks a mere annoyance at best. She has yet to learn how to bolster herself with cold, but is aware that it is possible in theory. Advancement for another time, perhaps.

The Celcia incident came and went, leaving great hammer impacts on Ami's life-Whereas she'd only had her intelligence to blame for her lack of social skills before, her changed body, and specifically, the marks left on her eyes now set her firmly apart from any 'normal' people.

Bonds forged between herself and Tellu, and Natsume kept Ami from withdrawing entirely, though she did, out of necessity, begin to keep to herself more. Her mother is also more of a dominant force in her life, though Ami feels guilty for the weight her mother and Artemis bear for her sake (The apartment isn't so cold as to be obnoxious, or unhealthy, but Ami's frailty, and vulnerabilty to heat ensure no shorts or tank tops will be worn in their apartment ever again...)

Rei has occasional nightmares of her time serving Metallia. She's getting better at dealing with the experiences, but they can still be very distressing from time to time.

Rei is completely devoted to Usagi, and will lay down her life for her in an instant. While she might occasionally make fun of Usagi, when push comes to shove, she will follow Usagi to the ends of the Earth, no matter what it costs her.

Skeleton in the Closet - 2
Rei did a lot of damage and killed a lot of people while under Metallia's control. While the defeat of Metallia seems to have fixed things, if people ever discover what she did, Rei would be in a lot of trouble.

Bisexual - 1
Rei can be attracted to both males and females (and is currently in a relationship with a girl), which some people find disturbing. Although she doesn't really let it get to her, she is sometimes treated poorly because of this, or forced to listen to Yui-chan's horrible songs about the subject...

For any round in which the attack is used, Fire Resistance gains 1 level, and any critical hits are made with a +1 on the 1d6 severity roll (7 still counts as x4/instant death)

Level 1: Fire damage reduced 10 points
Level 2: Fire damage reduced 20 points
Level 3: Fire damage halved/reduced by 30 (whichever is less)
Level 4: All fire damage negated completely
Level 5: Fire damage is absorbed, 1 EP gained for every 5 points of fire damage taken
Level 6: Fire damage is absorbed, 1 HP gained for every 10 points of fire damage taken (in addition to EP gain)

Telekinesis 1pt/level
Relevant Stat: Mind
Using this ability, the character can move objects using nothing more than the power of their mind. Each use of this costs 5 EP, and is reliant on a successful Mind stat check. Telekinetically held objects can be thrown as projectile weapons, dependant on a successful ACV roll, or used to block incoming attacks, giving a bonus to DCV (GM discretion, dependant on size of object and nature of attack).
An unwilling subject can make a DCV roll to escape being grabbed. It is possible to snatch an item from someone's hand via telekinesis, but the target can make a body check to retain their grip.
Level 1: Can move objects weighing 1kg within 5 metre radius, -2 to Mind stat check
Level 2: Can move objects weighing 10kg within 10 metre radius, -2 to Mind stat check

Astral Projection

Rei can project her consciousness out of her body through the astral plane. She can form her astral body anywhere she chooses, and can choose whether to appear visible or not (supernaturally sensitive beings will always be able to sense her, though).
When Astral she can See, Hear, and Spiritually Sense things. No other senses work. She can interact with the environment via Telekinesis or Elemental Control, though any EC attacks are considered 'indirect' (she can't add her ACV to the damage). Physical attacks cannot hurt her astral self, although certain spiritual attacks will prove effective.

Supernatural Training

Mandala
Rei can draw mandalas on the ground which allow her to perform similar actions as her wards/banishment, though at a higher level of power.
Normally a mandala takes time to draw, and can be done without a roll (just like making wards). But if she tries to create one during combat it can be done in 2 rounds by drawing it quickly, or 1 round by scoring the mandala onto the ground with Fire EC. Due to the harried nature of doing delicate work during combat it requires a single mind check to see if the mandala is made correctly.
If the mind check succeeds, the mandala can be activated on successive rounds (with a soul check), although the target MUST be inside the circle.
If the mind check fails, the mandala either doesn't work, or causes an unexpected effect.

Powered After Transformation: Usagi has gained access to several of her magical abilities outside of her senshi or royal forms, most notably the ability to perform Lunar Magic and elemental control of raw energy.

Phobia (Storms): Usagi has always had a fear of thunder, dating from her past life as Princess Serenity. The presence of crashing thunderbolts inevitably makes the poor rabbit jump towards the nearest hole to hide in.

Recurring Nightmares: Usagi to this day still occasionally has very disruptive nightmares about the day that the criminals were released from their confinement in the Crystal Prison on the Moon. While hardly debilitating at this point, nearly two years after the fact, they do still haunt Usagi from time to time.

Marked: Following the death of the demon summoner Cynthia and her exhortation to Usagi to become a good queen, Usagi awakened with the glowing crescent moon, symbol of the Lunar royal family, permanently visible on her forehead at all times. In most circumstances, this marking is concealed with a hair braid stretched across Usagi's forehead.

Social Stigma - Lesbian: Usagi occasionally has to deal with social pressures due to the fact that her lover is another girl. Not everyone in society approves of such an arrangement, and they're not always nice about saying so.

Significant Other - Rei Hino: Usagi is currently engaged to be married to the beautiful Rei Hino. Usagi will take any risk to see her love safe, and will never take any risk that would involve Rei being hurt directly as a result of her actions.

Senshi Powers - Descriptions:

Elemental Control - Energy: Usagi has learned to control and shape raw energy into many different forms. While its most simple and common representation is as a bolt of force, she can replicate other energy effects on a small scale, such as fire, electricity, or light. Her control of energy also allows her to perceive it in the world around her, most notably as a form of aura sight - Usagi can see the energy patterns of a particular person or thing and their composition.

Upgraded Fuku: Usagi's sailor fuku has minor transformation effects separate from her senshi transformation, allowing her to adapt her uniform to suit varying environmental conditions if necessary.

Rainbow Moon Heartache: Gained when Usagi first obtained the Holy Grail, this extremely powerful attack is used in conjunction with the Lunar Staff. A powerful surge of heart-shaped energy flies from the end of the staff, striking the enemy for 132 damage. A +3 mod is applied to the target's DCV if the attack connects. The attack costs 50 EP.

Moon Princess Hallation: Gained when Usagi first obtained the original Silver Crystal, waves of sparkling energy stream from the end of her Staff (originally the Moon Scepter), causing 102 points of damage. A +2 mod is applied to the target's DCV if the attack connects. The attack costs 40 EP.

Moon Healing Escalation: Waves of healing energy flow outward from Usagi. This attack applies 72 points of 'purifying' damage to an enemy that can be purified; all other enemies are unaffected. In addition, Moon Healing Escalation will heal 36 points of damage per round if directed at an ally. This attack costs 30 EP.

Moon Tiara Action: Usagi's first attack as a sailor senshi, she removes her tiara, transforming it into a disc which is hurled at the enemy. The tiara can also be used to trap or restrain an enemy on command. When used to attack, the attack causes 42 damage and has a +1 modifier to the target's DCV if successful. This attack costs 20 EP.

Special Note - the Silver Crystal: While the Silver Crystal is not currently in Usagi's direct possession, it has been merged with the life force of her adopted daughter Chibi Usa. In times of great need Usagi can enlist her daughter's cooperation and use the power of the Crystal, although at any given moment in time Usagi will not have any access to the Crystal whatsoever.

Generic Attributes - Description:

Acrobatics: Usagi has some slight acrobatic ability, allowing her to perform such feats as hopping across the rooftops of Tokyo with her fellow senshi, although she's hardly a master of the gymnastic arts.

Appearance: Usagi is an attractive young woman, and with the added grace and poise granted by her acceptance of her royal past self and her training in the Chinese art of t'ai chi, she's become rather striking in appearance to those that see her.

Art of Distraction: Usagi can definitely hold the attention of a crowd. Between her good looks and her lung capacity, she can easily attract and hold the attention of a good-sized crowd if she so chooses.

Combat Mastery: Usagi has fought many battles as a senshi over the course of the last two and a half years. Although she has no formal training in the art of combat, her long experience has given her a measure of rough-and-ready skill in a fight.

Energy Bonus: With the powerful magics wielded by Queen Serenity and Sailor Moon, Usagi has a vast internal store of magical energy to draw from - a good thing, given the measure of that power she has to draw on in the course of her duties in both those roles.

Fortified Body: With training in t'ai chi from the martial artist (and sometime senshi) Prince Herb, Usagi has spent some time developing her body and learning to control it. While hardly outstanding, her practice has left her slightly better than average physically.

Focused Combat (Senshi Attacks): Again, while Usagi has had little direct training in tactics or warfare, her experience gained on the 'battlefields' of Juuban has given her additional confidence and skill in relation to her abilities as a Sailor Senshi.

Heightened Senses: The immense power routed through Usagi during the use of the Silver Crystal in Metallia's defeat had marked effects on Usagi. Among these were magically enhanced senses - Usagi can see, hear, and feel with much more detail than any normal human can, although her senses are more unusual than uncanny, roughly twice those of a normal human being.

Usagi's ability to establish a mental link and communication with others was first evidenced after the battle with Metallia atop Tokyo Tower, where the sheer magnitude of the power flowing through Usagi, Minako, Makoto, and Rei in conjunction with the crystal formed permanent links between the four's minds. Later, links between Usagi and Ami were formed through the extensive amounts of energy shared between the two in the first stages of the restoration of the Moon Palace, and most recently with the twin Witches, Cyprine and Ptilol, due to their assistance in increasing Usagi's capacity to handle vast streams of magic for long periods of time in preparation for the final battle against Zirae.

Name: Natsume Kusanagi

Backstory: Natsume has but a single goal in her life. She wants to become what she deems 'a great woman'. Idolizing legendary swordsman like Yagyu Jubei, Miyamoto Musashi, and Bokuden Tsukahara, she has modeled her entire demeanor after these great men. Most, if not all, of her free time is spent either immersed in old samurai novels, or spending time at the theatre watching period cinema. Because of this, she has developed a strong sense of justice, and will rise up to cut down evil where she sees it (or at least moderately maim).

Natsume and her younger sister Kurumi live with their wisened old grandfather, Kusanagi Tsukijirou, who is the current grandmaster of the Mugetsu Seijin Ryuu, an art of kenjutsu passed through the Kusanagi family for many generations. He is currently training Natsume to eventually succeed him. Natsume is usually seen carrying her trademark bokuto wherever she goes, and because of her skill, she is the current captain of the school's kendo club.

She doesn't tell this to anyone, but she also harbors a love for mahou shoujo and tokusatsu (particularly Kamen Rider), stating that the heroes and heroines of the genre embody what she strives to become. Upholding love, justice, and peace for the masses regardless of themselves. They are truly great men and women. Though she likely just uses this as a cover for a simple guilty pleasure. Her younger sister Kurumi doesn't have much of an opinion on the matter, and has long since resigned to her elder sister's quirks.

Time has passed, though, and Natsume has now joined the ranks of a magical girl team. While she still feels occasional pangs of inadequacy next to these towering heroines, most of Natsume's time is engrossed in her girlfriend--Ami Mizuno, also known as Sailor Mercury. Inseperable since even before Natsume's ascension to the status of Sailor Venus, Natsume and Ami have grown even closer as the former works into her role as a magical girl and protector of love and justice. With her lovelife joined to her dreams, and all of it right before her to be DONE, Natsume throws herself into nearly everything, qtrying to live up to the legend and become her own Great Woman.

Focused Attack: Senshi Attacks - Level 1

Chi Sword: Forms a sword from Natsume's chi. This is very sharp and capable of mimicking a real sword. Costs 10 EP to form and takes one round's action. No Soul check is needed short of unusual circumstances.


Venus Sword - An artifact from the long lost Moon Kingdom, Venus' sword is frighteningly sharp weapon used to deadly and butal effect by the senshi of love. ACVx4 damage.

Light EC: Personally rejecting control over others' emotions, Natsume has instead focused her practice and powers into the manipulation of light for illusions and other more destructive and interesting methods. (Level 3)

Venus Crescent Cascade - Venus holds up an open hand, and a shower of yellow energy beams rushes from between her fingers, washing over her enemies in a painful blaze. Defend at +1, 30 damage, 20 ep cost.

Venus Love Lash - A flexible chain (some might say whip...) of searing light, Venus holds out her hand and spins once, the chain appearing in the last moments of the spin to lash out quite a ways at her enemies. Defenders are at +1 Penalty, Natsume can strike two opponents in the same 90 degree arc without penalty, does 60 damage, and costs 30 EP.

Love Star Slash - This requires Venus' sword to be in her hands. Raising the weapon, it begins gathering sparks of vibrating light that begin to streak as she brings it down in a slash that'll sunder most anything between the outpouring of energy and the sword itself. Defenders are at +3 penalty due to the blinding light surrounding Venus and her sword during the attack, it deals ACVx4 + 50 damage, and costs 40 ep.
