Anastasia

Carthrat as Tchaener, former Lawful Evil Warlord.

Int: 17
Wis: 13

In life, Tchaener was a half-elven warlord of 'considerable repute'. Cities and kingdoms crumbles before his invincible armies, and indeed, for a time, he was known as the 'Dark Knight of Malice'. Emboldened by his worship of Sa-sha, the black goddess of tyranny, power, and dominance, he easily swept all before him and, for a time, it seemed that he would claim the world for his own. Covered in armour that could not be piereced, and wielding a sword that could not be blocked, his equipment and skill was matched only by the favour of his goddess.

Yet all bad things come to an end, sometimes in the most ironic ways. Tchaener had a wife, a full elf. In the end, all things could not match that love. Even though it would cost him- and the world he carved everything...

A party of blackguards, serving the Dark One- a mockery, a rival!- they were able to defeat Tchaener without a clash of blades. Abducting his wife in the dead of night and stealing her from his never-before breacehd fortress, they blackmailed him into giving up his armour, his sword, his kingdom, and then, indeed, his life. An unmarked grave that slays those who linger too long- Sa-Sha's last blessing upon the fallen warlord. Only his wife can approach it without death- such is the might and rage of a fallen tyrant- one who, despite it all, united the world, and indeed could have husbanded it, if not for his petty emotions.

In the end, is that what brought him to this place? Or was it his devotion to Sa-Sha? Some outside, darker entity? Revenge? The will to live? The will to see his beloved once more?

Is this just some cruel mockery that stands before his rest? Or is this punishment for his sins?

<->

Tchaener knows a large amount about military discipline and tactics- but the duties of a leader, even a harsh and cruel one, go beyond that. He knows all sorts of thing about logistics and economics (for all the good they'll do), but he is also knowledgable in the religions and faiths of his world (even though he abolished them all and forced the dread worship of Sa-Sha), and his respect for magic comes using it as a tactical weapon, not as an eldricht art.

Corwin as, well...Corwin, Prince of Amber!

Wis=18
Int=13

Corwin, at one time a contender to the Throne of Amber... mellowed out. Once, he commanded vast armies of humans and humanoids alike, using them as pawns when necessary to advance his political goals. Once, control over all of Creation seemed to be within his grasp, so close he could reach out and seize it with both hands. Once, he was a moral-less, cruel bastard.

But that all changed during his years spent on the Shadow Earth, suffering from amnesia and forced to live like a human -- a superior one, admittedly, but still with most of their limitations. He further tasted of humility and learned of human suffering as he spent three agonizing years in a dungeon deep in the bowels of Castle Amber, after he failed to conquer it on his first attempt. Those years of blindness and insanity did wonders to stabilize him, ridiculous as it may appear at first glance, after his escape from captivity. And lastly, the Patternfall War against the chaotic forces of the Abyss served to demonstrate some uncomfortable truths to Corwin. His brother and biggest rival in all things, Eric the Usurper, was dead, and with his died a large part of Corwin's ambition and desire for the throne. His father was dead as well, having sacrificed himself to contribute to their victory, and this victory felt hollow to Corwin, for his father was not the only one on their side to die. The loss of his dear sister, Deidre, hit Corwin hard, for she had fallen into the Abyss itself, and as far as he knew, none could return from it.

Leaving the rest of his siblings and their petty squabbling, Corwin journeyed across Shadow, seeking out a reality to drown his sorrows in. Many of them crossed his path, until he finally settled in one, so like the Avalon of his youth, where he once reigned. However, the Dark One attacked, and in Corwin's state of mind, he was no match for the fiend's forces. He took down hundreds single-handedly, but was eventually swarmed and battered into submission. His last memory of his life is the sound of the Dark One's laughter, as Corwin was quartered alive, his head subsequently cut off and set on a pike amongst the burnt down ruins of Camelot.

<--->

Corwin was a poet and composer during his youth, and still retains a creative spirit, though it has somewhat dimmed over the years. He is a decent tactician and strategist, though he sometimes overlooks certain rather obvious signs. Seeing as mellowing down got him killed in a fairly painful way, and any moment of mercy over the past decade has brought him nothing but pain and misery, perhaps it is time to reconsider his attitude.

Corwin is rather skilled with a blade, and the sword of Order he wielded over the course of his life, Grayswandir, is lethal to Chaotic creatures, setting the tiniest nick made in their skin with it on angry fire. Amongst his personal effects is a silvery clasp for his cloak, made in the shape of a rose. It serves as his trademark, so to speak, but has no other purpose, magical or otherwise.

Corwin's knowledge of geography and history is quite extensive, due to his many travels and his untold centuries of life. He also is an accomplished physician, albeit that profession was not to be his calling.

Dracos as: Aesop Coeus
Age: 47 at time of death
Int: 18
Wis: 8

Born in Athens, Greece, Aesop was a smart young boy of a good family with an impetus streak who had the good fortune to study under the legendary philosopher Socretes. Unfortunately, Aesop didn't really get the greater purpose of the whole exercise of learning as Socretes taught until his death. No, he more saw it as another venture into the very area he had the greatest interest in: Puzzles and manipulation of words and logic. A good student and a decent writer, what he lacked in wisdom and insight, he tended to make up in sheer reasoning. Moving afterwards into law, he lived for many years as a statesman before coming to an unfortunate end in a series of dealing with a local cult. Finding himself a disembodied spirit in a dark hellish environment pleased him immensely... at least for as long as it took for him to get over solving the puzzle of what comes after death and realize the place was immensely boring whenever it was not filled with raw pain.

Given the chance to escape through the Dark One's dungeon, he leapt at it, not for any real caring on what it was about, but for the challenge of the puzzle.

---------

Aesop is knowledgable about puzzles, statemanship, and greek culture in general. Magic? Weapons? These really aren't things he knows well at all or has a great respect for (You think he'd learn after being stabbed in the back with such), with the exception of their necessity to solve whatever puzzle he's considering. Impetus even now, he's not the wisest of fellows by far.
<Afina> Imagine a tiny pixie boot stamping on a devil's face.
<Afina> Forever.

<Yuthirin> Afina, giant parasitic rainbow space whale.
<IronDragoon> I mean, why not?
