O'karn opened a map of the city.  The diagramed area sat between the lake and the mountain wall.  There were houses and streets marked.  A few other things were marked: two market area's marked, along with a Hunters' Lodge, City Council, and Arkanel's house.

Carthrat

Daggedal snorts at Arkanels words.

"Bloody 'ell, Orkanel. Yer making several large assumptions. If ye'd take a moment to sit back and bloody *think*, ye'd realise that without our... 'toy', some of us may well be less dan half as capable as with it.

I dun know about you, but good tactics aren't charging forward when ye can't be assured of at least a *reasonable* chance of victry. Ye ambush, ye raid, ye scout, ye spy, ye don't bloody sit around as 'ye seem to be suggestin'.

We ain't godly heroes. We need *every tool* at our disposal, 'ye understand? If this guy's as powerful as ye lead me to believe, I'll not simply rush into things!"

[19:14] <Annerose> Aww, mouth not outpacing brain after all?

Dracos

O'karn frowned as he folded up that one too and put it with his stuff.

Opening the last one he looked over it.

Fearless Leader
Well, Goodbye.

O'karn opened a map of the world.  A single continent was shown, shaped like a large half oval.  The upper border was marked as mountains, and the city was marked just inside the mountains, a little to the left.  The landmass was bordered by water on its other edges.  City names were visible, scattered throughout the map, and Jerusalem was marked with a large star, near the center.

Dracos

O'karn grunted as he folded up the map, turning and interrupting the small human warrior.  "Human mage, do you have a map of the mountains, or know of a ranger who crosses them regularly."

Fearless Leader

Arkanel sputtered, face turning crimson with blue shades as he listened.  He hands, clenched the table, knuckles turning white.  He took a few deep breaths, before he grated out, "Then go scout! go raid! go do whatever it is you need to prepare!" he stood up and took a couple deep breaths, before starting to walk around the table, away from O'karn's side, and towards the door Lafiel had just exited, "  Lafiel has a rod that will transport you to its base, and that base is located in the basement.  I will go study and get these things.  Then I will study, as you suggest, and maybe, just maybe, you whom are supposed to be experts in warfare, will do something except badger me about what you no longer seem to have!"

Arkanel heard O'karn's question before he reached the door.  "There are a few people who take trips into the mountains for sport.  I shall ask for the best one of them to be fetched and put at your disposal," he answered, before leaving the room.

Remdos felt a poke at his side and groaned at his head exploded with pain, a gift from the universe it's detonation triggered by his return to consciousness.

"Where the bloody hell am I?" he muttered groggily, his hand going for his forehead as he lifted his head.

As he lifted his head, a girl entered his spotty field of vision, and said something. His head was pounding too much at the moment, but he still got the jist of it. Arkanel, the bloody wizard who'd offered him this job, was around.

'I'm gonna have to speak with the bastard about his transportation method,' he thought as the dark spots in his sight began to vanish, allowing him to also notice a man besides, probably the one who woke him up to the bloody nice headache.

Pushing himself onto a sitting position, he began to move his free hand around the floor, trying to grasp for his belongings.

"...my bow?" he muttered questioningly as he also began to use his eyes to search for his weapon.

Remdos found everything as he had packed it.

Remdos gave a sigh of relief, as he tightened his hold on the bow. Standing up, he spoke, "Alright, lead the way, uhm..."

He wondered what the girl's name was. Actually, he wondered what the name was of the guy nearby as well.

Lafiel nodded, and looked at the two men briefly before turning and walking up the stairs.

At the top, she turned right and opened a door, leading them into a dining room.  Arkanel was menitoning something about getting someone for them.   Five others were present, four seated and one standing on the far side of the room.

Nirae hissed with pain, but threw herself out of the way of Rackham's scythe as best she could as soon as she felt the wolves' teeth release her.

Rackham thundered on the scene, kicking the injured wolf in its side, causing it to howl in pain.  His scythe fell, slicing open the beast leaping for his friend's head.  It fell on its side whimpering for a moment before falling silent.

Nirae threw herself out of the way of the scythe, leaving the mace from her arm behind.  The wolf on that side attacked again, sinking its teeth into her neck.  The other continued to chew on her legs.  She began to feel weak.

Priss

Nirae slashed down with her hawk at the wolf on her legs, aiming at his neck but just hoping for a solid strike, hoping that Rackham would disengage the one from her neck.

Something was strange... these wolves... they didn't act like regular wolves...

Her eyes narrowed both from the pain and the sudden thought that had occured to her.

Normal wolves would have run off by now...

Trunkyboy

Rackham roared his anger, swinging with might at the wolf holding Nirae's neck.

He swung in a three-fourths circle, aiming at the beast's body as to not accidently hit Nirae.
riss and I against the world!

Rackham and Nirae get no breaks...

Why, oh why wasn't I born rich?
