How are Shintani's subs? GG is usually good enough for me but they're four episodes behind.

To be honest I've been watching it raw and haven't been motivated to watch it subbed as of yet.

Is it that easy to follow?

It depends on how you look at it. If you're refering to the basic plots than yes it is. It is a slice of life show afterall. They aren't the most complex series in terms of plot. On the other hand you definitely need to watch it subbed to get the most complete, the in jokes and what not that are the trademark of your typical "Shaft" anime as well as personality traits that don't always come across properly by simply watching but not fully understanding, picture.

Ultimately though it's just procrastination that's delayed my watching it subbed. I can tell you though that I've heard some comments that, at least for the first episode anyway, for a first release Shintani did a pretty decent job with the first episode. Whether that continued with future episodes I can't say as of now.

Boring?

In my opinion it isn't. Of course I like slice of life series so long as I find the characters appealing. The characters can make or break this type of show. For the record I definitely find the characters appealing here.

having viewed both groups episode 1 (and 2 for shintari) I'm going to have to say watch Shintari for the speed and gg for the archieves. Shintari's font is a little on the small side making it a bit difficult to view.

Also, Sketch is pretty good. Easily better than PP-Dash. And man but do these guys know their colors. I know I said the same thing about PP-Dash, but it bears repeating.
