Okay, this came up in PM and it's a good thing to have delinated now. Where does your character live and sleep?  That's the main question, but as PCs this obviously entails more. So?

1. Where do you live?

2. When are you usually home?

3. What people are around? Any notable ones beyond level 0 commoners and servants?

4. Any magical defenses of note?

5. Any other sites removed from your home where you keep or store anything noteworthy?

As you grow in prominence, this information will become vital for my planning.  So please consider this and fill it out. I'd also like to have it here and handy so everyone can see it and be familiar with each other, too.

Posting this for Cor since he can't post to SR for some inane reason.

1. The HC SVNT DRACONES inn on a hill!

2. Whenever I'm not specifically said to be away from it (on duty, on missions, going out to meet people). I have everything I need in there, including a modest back yard to practice archery, a nice cellar for alchemy and the more volatile magic research, a private library for the saner kind and all kinds of pointless rooms so I wouldn't have to leave it.

3. ALL THE TIME. Donald is around, I suppose, and he counts as a character with levels. Elle's around from time to time, but I usually have to extend the invitation. Once our fame grows, more interesting NPCs would flock to our banner, only to end up ensnared as manservants! Just you wait!

4. It is built in the shape of a fire-breathing RED DRAGON. A real witch is said to live there. I pity the fool trying to rob me.

5. I... actually don't have anything expensive and material that can be easily stolen. Just my boots, bow, pearl, wands and spellbook, and I tend to keep them with me. They're pretty compact, which helps, and constantly useful~

Once someone tries to steal from a magic-wielding rogue and gets caught, that will take care of extending our prominence. Of course, if they steal something of value and get away with it, our reputation grows as well, but I have high hopes for the other contingency!

Shamal's residence is adjacent to the city walls on Balmuria's Southeast exterior, an area where property values are extremely low on account of the inconvenient location and being exposed to any invading army or marauding monsters that could happen along.

The L shaped one storey house is surrounded by a five foot tall hedgerow that surrounds her small plot of land which includes a herb garden and vegetable allotment which Shamal occassionally tends for spell components, medicines, and food.

Several windows dot the walls of Shamal's house, with sturdy shutters that can be bolted shut from the inside during bad weather or when Shamal is not home. All of the walls of the house are seamlessly joined, giving it an almost organic appearance, thanks to judicious use of the Shape Wood spell. The stone chimmney has a metal grate inside it to prevent anyone trying to climb down.

The front door is made of reinforced wood and has a good quality (DC 30) lock on it. Upon entering, a visitor finds themselves in a small hallway perpendicular to the entryway, with a door to the far right, and one adjacent to it opposite the entrance, while the left opens into the living room.

The door on the far right opens into Shamal's laboratory. This contains her alchemist's lab, a small library of books and various notes (including copies of her gnomish anatomy notes), an everburning torch, 1 flask of acid, 3 goblin stinkstones (in a sealed but unlocked box), 6 magical scrolls (Detect Magic, Detect Poison, Purify Food & Drink, Prestidigitation, and Protection from Evil, and Delay Poison) which have been semi-hidden amidst her library (low DC to search for), and a sealed chest containing the Deathcap mushrooms. This chest is locked with an amazing (DC 40) lock, and if opened or damaged by someone who does not say the password, it will discharge a Fire Trap *inside* the chest, immolating the contents. The Fire Trap has a DC of 27 both to find and to disarm. There are no windows in this room, but it does have a grated flue for ventilation.

The other door by the one to the alchemist's lab leads into the guest bedroom. Nothing of importance is there, generally.

Shamal's living room and kitchen likewise have nothing terribly interesting in them besides. A back door on the east side of the living room opens into her garden (just past the guest room) and has a good quality (DC 30) lock on it.

A door to the north of the living room leads to Shamal's bedroom. Here Shamal typically keeps most of her money besides 1,000gp or so. The money is hidden within a hollow in the wall which Shamal opens and closes via the Wood Shape spell whenever she wishes to access it (Search DC should be more or less impossible). A lead lined box is hidden within Shamal's nightstand (moderate DC to search for) where Shamal stows any magical items she isn't using.

When Shamal is around Balmuria on her daily duties, the four wolves and possibly Laika depending on circumstances are normally found around her house - her neighbours are now well used to them and don't protest the presence of the well behaved canines. Shamal usually leaves her back door open in such circumstances so that they can come and go as they please, relying on them to deal with any tresspassers on her property.

When Shamal is on an extended mission she normally leaves her house locked up, and leaves the wolves to hunt freely in the woods near Balmuria so that they can feed themselves without disturbing the neighbours.

Aside from her duties, Shamal often takes extended sojurns in the wilds around Balmuria, often taking her whole menagerie along. In such cases, she likewise leaves her house locked up.

Seira:

If you're really serious about gathering a lot of human servants and the like, you may wanna consider Leadership. If you're interested, poke in in the PM some time.

Shamal:

I forget, where did you get the amazing lock and chest? I'm blanking.

Where do you keep the keys to your various locks?

I just said that I was buying it after I acquired the mushrooms and you said ok.

Shamal keeps her housekeys in her pocket, and leaves them on her nightstand when she's at home. The key for the death mushroom chest stays in the haversack.

Okay, this came up in PM and it's a good thing to have delinated now. Where does your character live and sleep? That's the main question, but as PCs this obviously entails more. So?

1. Where do you live?

Currently the temple, but that may change once I get a bit more non-Uatu-interefered-RP going. May being the primary word.

2. When are you usually home?

Pretty much awake and in the temple from 4:00 AM to noon and 6:00 PM to midnight most days. Noon to six is a general patrol of sorts. Of course this schedule goes out the window if he wants to go talk to someone/is assisting the Crimson Guard on that day.

3. What people are around? Any notable ones beyond level 0 commoners and servants?

All the priests and all the priests' men.

4. Any magical defenses of note?

Other than any on the temple? Not currently, no. Demedais isn't too security-aware.

5. Any other sites removed from your home where you keep or store anything noteworthy?

Not currently, though the Fifth Resort may go to Seira or Shamal for safekeeping unless Deme's using it. It -has- occured to him that under his bed in the temple rooms isn't the best place for it, even if he only sleeps for four hours a night.

Deme's trap, since Seira brought it up and dug it up. Thanks, Seira.
