The Empress Ifurita (and the royal family) are all descendents of a mix between one of the gods and a river spirit, being celestial templated river spirit folk.  They live roughly 300 years at a time, the empress always named Ifurita.  The current one is the 5th empress since the founding of empire 1231 years ago.  Time is calculated in "Year of the Empire".

Clans exist.  No they are not likely the clans of Rokugan.  Ideas for clans can be listened to.  Clan based restrictions aren't there.  Clan based ancestor feats are, when we discuss them.

They'll likely get the same thing as Tieflings: For one to get to where you guys are is an amazing and unlikely feat, likely involving overcoming considerable resistance and demonstrating amazing amounts of raw talent and dedication. Whereas an Avriel would be pitied, they likely had to overcome some degree of contempt and bullying from their peers and possibly their teachers while still demonstrating beyond question their right to belong among the elite spiritual guardians of the country.

Sohei will have an option.  Normally, they get a weaker flurry of blows that doesn't stack with monk levels but seems to allow weapon use.

Instead, they will now have a choice:

The Ki frenzy as written.  Sohei levels do not stack with monk levels.

Or

Just the stat bonuses of Ki frenzy.  They also get the monk flurry of blows separately, usable any time and with the same restrictions as  the monk flurry of blows.  Sohei levels stack with monk levels.

You may have one or the other, but not both.  They both have their advantages and disadvantages.
Well, Goodbye.
