So how the hell are you guys going to be connected? I'd rather you guys be an operating group before the game starts rather than trying awkward group hookup #49238.  I don't really care how you guys do it as long as it's done. FYI, you'll be starting on Ysgard if that helps at all.

<Afina> Forever.

<Yuthirin> Afina, giant parasitic rainbow space whale.
<IronDragoon> I mean, why not?

Well, my background is I'm just joining up "Hi, I'm Eva, let's roll" with adventuring groups.  I'm fine with just being with this one since we're going portal hunting or whatever. :)  I probably met them in an Inn and hit it off.
Well, Goodbye.

I'm terrified of Ysgard since unlike everyone else there, I'll die when I'm killed. So I would be incredibly thankful to join up with any group that's going in my direction and isn't looking to fight everything that moves. I'm probably only hanging around since I have the scent of a card already.

Although I do think the inn thing is a bit dull. Instead, let's say we all happened to be in some Ysgard town, and suddenly THE BIG WAR broke out! When the dust settled, we were the only ones left standing.

Now I'm imagining four people (and a mouse) rising up from the literal wreckage of a house like in a scene from Blues Brothers, and going, "We gotta get out of this place."

I had wondered exactly how long we'd known each other before the start of the game. Probably a fairly short time is best; it's hard to manufacture camaraderie when your characters are actually meeting each other onscreen for the first time.

That and half the time 'friends, brothers, countrymen' turn out to be the people who are most likely to stab you in the party.

"We're on a Mission from God".

I blame El cid if I start using blues bros themesongs for everyone during the sessions. :)
Well, Goodbye.

Well, having us be stuck in the aftermath of some catastrophe and have to band together to get somewhere safer doesn't sound like a bad way to get a party together. We then proceed to adventures on account of working well together as a group? I dunno.

Does the situation qualify as "You all meet at an inn" if the inn is burned to the ground and we are merely standing on its ashes?

Dracos

Yes.

And I won't say that I won't be on the burning stage playing the guitar for a starter disguised as a guy in a black suit.

Or not. :)
Well, Goodbye.

Aftermath of a badass fight in Ysgard actually sounds really cool. Danger Mouse has tons of reasons for being on Ysgard in the first place(perfect place to train for starters) and definately wouldn't mind some company that isn't as...uh, frankly off their bloody rockers as the locals.

So yeah, here's an official vote for the "we met during a war breakout that wrecked a town in Ysgard and stuck together afterward to get out of there" scenario. It's a great way to have us already together, but pretty recently so we can get to actually know eachother IC.
All About Monks
<Marisa> They're OP as fuck
<Marisa> They definitely don't blow in 3.5
<Marisa> after a certain level they basically just attack repeatedly until it dies
<Marisa> they're immune to a bunch of high level effects
<Marisa> just by being monks
