It's a small house that Seira is drawn to, a place that a tired faced woman rents out with an air of interest, amusement and ever so well meaning meddling. Just coming from his day's work, you catch him at the front door. He is a slight but well developed young man, his eyes quickly going after Seira. After a strangely tense moment, "Yeah?"
[16:58] <Seira> "Hi," she greets him, sounding happy. "You can use fire, right? Can you show me?"
[17:02] <Infinite_Ko_Loop> Roget's bushy blonde eyebrows shoot up a moment, a start. But after a moment of surprise, "Wait," he blinks,a lmost groggy, "Aren't you...Captain Seira of the guard?" he asks, giving her a very long once over.
[17:03] * Seira nods, and snaps her fingers, sending colorful sprites dancing around them for a few moments. As they fade away, she asks curiously, "Can you do this?"

[17:08] <Kotono> His eyes go a little wide at it a moment, "Right to the point, aren't you..." he mutters, but closes his eyes. HIs brow strains and his eyes narrow, but a small jet of flame appears in the air! It streaks out, nearly grazing Seira's ear! "...guh!" he says after, the small little rill of flame no serious danger to anyone with protection.

[17:48] <Kotono> "It is..." he looks on at the captain, "Sir, can I ask you something?" he presses on.
[17:48] <Seira> "Sure."
[17:51] <Kotono> "About the magic and all of that," he begins, "Is it dangerous to ourselves?"
[17:53] <Seira> "It could be," Seira says cautiously. "As with everything else, of course. However, wielded properly, magic will never become a drain on the caster or incapacitate them in some way. Therefore, training is necessary. The other option is with trial and error, and carries actual risks."

[19:20] <Kotono> The day is forgotten as the two mages head inside. IN Seira's chambers, awaiting...OOC - Seira, this is largely in your court. Go ahead and describe your setup/any precatious?
[19:26] <Seira> Seira precasts Owl's Wisdom and Comprehend Languages upon herself, before tackling the orb. An extra boost never hurt a mage, and for all she knows, the language barrier was what prevented the clear execution of her commands the last time she tried it. With that taken care of, she secludes herself into a locked room with no unattended metal items sans for ball she had made for her out of air and plated with a thin layer of metal. It shoul
[19:26] <Seira> d suffice for testing, while hopefully not harm her overly much. And on that thought, she casts False Life upon her person, while suggesting Elle herself remain invisible, and be ready to do the same to her or get her away from harm, should she fail in communicating.
[19:29] <Kotono> Elle renders herself unseen, staying near the very metalless rear wall. She also casts a few other spells, before, "Try not to get impaled by dozens of metal s craps," Elle's shive shakes at that, "Horrible image. Was it truly so powerful as to control all of that?"
[19:30] <Seira> "It was annoyingly persistent in its desire to give me new piercings, and punctuated its wishes with the piercing wails of tortured souls," Seira responds. "It took me off guard, that was all."
[19:32] <Kotono> "Souls? Ugh. Bastard," Elle observes aloud, her voice filled with more distaste. "Though if it was souls, did you keep Alicia pet...thing away from it?"
[19:34] <Seira> "She didn't show much interest," Seira tells Elle with a shrug. "In any case, I intend to find out whether there is true intelligence held within, and if it wants to be my friend. If I suddenly act out of character, feel free to knock me out in the quickest way possible and I won't hold it against you!" After a moment's thought, Seira adds, "Don't bother with the protection spells, though, they didn't work last time I tried."
[19:36] <Kotono> "Alright." Elle speaks to that, "I'll have a spell readied. I have a few spells just up that alley."
[19:39] <Seira> Feeling sufficiently prepared, Seira opens her mind to the mysterious orb, clearing her thoughts of anything but the mental image of a face-to-face meeting, with which she hopes to convey her intentions.

[19:47] <Kotono> Seira is broadsided. Howls and desires fill her mind, incoherent and yet purposeful. Towards what she is not sure, as Seira resists a feeling of blankness and keeps her own mental controls. Metal, metal, metal, metal. It is life, it is everything. The greatest passion of them all. That's the feeling Seira feels, even as she maintains control.
[19:48] * Seira commands the metal ball to rise above the table it lies upon, gesturing at it majestically!
[19:51] <Kotono> The ball slowly, reluctantly rises above the table it lies on. As it does, diagrams flsah in Seira's mind. A killball of beautiful, thrice bunished mithril, tiny catching hooks in lines of a dozen, jutting out to rip flesh off with amazing deadilness. A mountain of metal, shifting as it melts down and reshapes in it's cooling hisses.
[19:55] * Seira follows the designs shared with her mind, willing the ball's metal envelop to become even thinner as the rest concentrates on one side to form these beautiful hooks of death.

[20:04] <Kotono> Seira struggles to manipulate the ball. While she does not feel a renewed lash against her mind, she finds it is quite difficult to control. No success on that.
[20:07] <Seira> Seira decides to try another track. The orb either cannot or does not wish to communicate with her directly, and attempts to outright command it with brute force are not being particularly successful. Perhaps, then.... Seira envisions herself standing atop an enormous tower of jagged metal, mithral and adamant coming together only to be bound by gnomish steel. She holds the orb triumphantly towards the skies, challenging angels and devils
[20:07] <Seira>  alike, while in the fields below alien creations of metal, constantly shifting and changing, lay waste to all those who would dare oppose the two of them!

[20:26] <Kotono> Thump. The orb's heat vanishes, as Seira feels herself falling asleep. Dead asleep, collapsing. "NOOOOOO!" the orb's voice screams, heralding Seira into a brief darkness. One that is broken soon enough, a dazed end to it. "Seira, wake up."
[20:31] <Seira> "That's such a mean bitch of a sentient orb," Seira states from her prone position on the floor. She idly notes she should add a carpet, perhaps something in deep, rich red. "I don't care how smart it thinks it is, I'm making it my flunky!"
[20:34] <Kotono> Offering a hand up to Seira, "It didn't sound terribly happy. More like insanity in a strapping male voice," She's visible again, relief and a smile on her face. "I kicked it under the table for the moment. Also, you may want to have a look at the other side of the door."
[20:36] <Seira> "Don't wanna," Seira complains. "And yes, it's pretty insane. Did you recognize the language?"
[20:38] <Kotono> "Not offhand." Elle shakes her head, "I suppose that's not unexpected with a long lost orb of great magic, however."
[20:39] <Seira> "An overgrown soulgem is what it is," Seira grouches, sitting up. "Elle, are you out of spells that can exorcize me if I try and fail again?"
[20:40] <Kotono> "I have another dispel magic and a few more...ah, direct spells. They aren't entirely pleasant. It's up to you," Glancing at the orb, "At worst, we can go pry the silverware and coins that came plowing into the door."
[20:44] <Seira> Seira winces at the mention of coins. "I'm at a loss, at the moment. So I'm not stopping until I at least break even." After giving Elle time to prepare, Seira reaches under the table and grasps the orb firmly once more. "Listen up," she tells it sternly. "I'm the most stubborn being on the face of this world. I don't care that you're an immortal, crazy orb. I'm talking to you, so I'm not all there, either. Now! Serve me of become fishfoo
[20:44] <Seira> d." And a helpful mental image accompanies the demand, of a crossroads. One path leads to Seira feeding the orb all the ore it wants, the other has her lock it in a thick wooden box and dump it in the elemental plane of water, with no metal for miles upon miles away.

[21:01] <Seira> Threatening the damn thing was the most effective thing she had done so far, and Seira recognizes the advantage enough to press it. The sword of three blades rusts all over, becoming dust in the blink of an eye. Rust monsters are being summoned next to every visible source of metal, no matter how insignificant, as an upset Seira glares down at the orb in her arms, refusing to do her bidding. [21:01] <Seira>  disappear in a flash, while ore sprouts from the ground, covering it in metal grass. Trees bear mithral fruit, and Seira brushes her mind against the orb's, making them take flight, blotting out the skies.

[21:25] <Seira> She's shown the stick. The carrot, then, is an image of Seira embracing the designs, stopping at a blacksmith's forge to create the beautiful sword she had seen earlier. As the orb reaches out to transform it into its three-bladed form, however, she stops it cold with her will, forcing the sword to remain as it is, for she is to be the dominant one in their partnership. [21:36] <Kotono> The orb cools furtheri n Seira's hand. The flood of images seems to distill down somewhat, clarity returning.
[21:38] <Seira> The more her mind clears, the more Seira allows the images that appeared to surround her, tying their presence directly to the level of control she has over her link with the orb. An excited spite is unavoidable, and she savagely cuts down on the imagery, reinforcing her commands with a physical summoning of yet more cool water.

Do you really want to spend another millennium locked away? Do you?!" Breathing heavily, Seira casts Water Breathing upon herself. "Last goddamn chance, you upstart paperweight!"
[21:58] <Kotono> Elle raises an eyebrow as she watches, but holds her tongue. OOC - Initimidation check, since you're trying to scare the piss out of this poor orb.

[22:03] <Kotono> The orb withers in the light of that pure, unbridled rage, seeming to cool off entirely in Seira's hands.
[22:06] <Seira> "That's better," Seira snaps. Standing up, she heads towards the door, opening it and looking at the metal objects embedded in the other side, orb still held in her arms.
[22:07] <Kotono> There's a few cases of silveware, several coins and even a few nails from chairs and the like. This door's just messed up. Elle follows along, "Got it?" she asks, a bit tense.
[22:08] * Seira lets her actions speak for themselves. "Clean this up," she orders tersely, sweeping her hand over the various metals. Her mind supplies the image of them gathered in a pyramid before her.
[22:12] <Kotono> Clink! The silverware is yanked out of the door, as are the other things such as coins. They neatly stack up on command.
[22:14] <Seira> "Good," she says neutrally. "You will be rewarded when I call upon you next, Lagann." Having named her orb, Seira places it back on the table in the room she used for testing, and rejoins Elle with the metal-plated ball she finds lying discarded in the room's corner.
[22:16] <Kotono> "Finally." Elle breathes out, "How does it work, anyway?"
[22:18] <Seira> "Lagann submitted to my will!" Seira tells her brightly. "Isn't that grand?"
[22:18] <Kotono> "Lagann?" An eyebrow is raised again, "What exactly is it? A bound spirit, yes? Is it sane? Communicatable?"
[22:20] <Seira> "It's an insane guy that really likes metals. As a reward for being my flunky I'll indulge him in that, so we both benefit." Seira pauses. "I named him, because I can't keep on calling him Orb or Dammit, You."
[22:21] <Kotono> "A pity. Taking down a magical creature with a string of Dammit, You would have been a sight," Elle chuckles a little at it, "Wait, you said it's a guy? I mean, I know about the voice, but do you mean it's a real soul?"
[22:23] <Seira> "I'm sure he'll answer to whatever I call it, so I could make an exception one day for your sake," Seira offers. "And... the gender is male, but I can't say if it's a spirit, a soul, a construct or a bound devil. Probably not the latter, since it's not visibly evil to my paladin friends, but you never know." Seira snorts, then. "I know what you're thinking, but right now, I'm out of options unless I either want to submit myself or leave i

[22:26] <Kotono> "Yeah. If it's a real soul or something that's sentinent..." A shrug, "It's worth looking into considering the gnomes' record."
[22:28] <Seira> "Speaking of that, I'll look into the language I heard it speak. I should be able to determine it with sufficient study," Seira muses. "I don't suppose I need to ask you to keep all this to ourselves? Some would try to possess or break the orb, both of which are extremely bad options with unpreditable consequences."
