[21:00] <Kotono> Willim drowses. Sleep is just leaving him for the morning, the urge to eat meat bubbling up into his dawning awareness. Something else also bubbles into it - a knocking on his room's door, insistent enough to speed him towards wakefulness.
[21:02] * Willim hefts himself off the floor and opens the door sleepily. "Wut." he says, his eyes half closed and the right side of his face covered in drool.
[21:05] <Kotono> Elrisa recoils, looking all the world like she just saw a cockroach crawling up her leg. Taking a deep breath and forcing on a less openly disgusted look, "Willim, isn't it?"
[21:06] <Willim> "Mmmh? What want with me?" Willim mumbles, hand coming up and rubbing at his face drowsily.
[21:12] <Kotono> "Misaela would like to invite you to breakfast with us," Elrisa says slowly, and after a moment, "She said there will be meat."
[21:13] * Willim nods slowly, brain waking up at the mention of meat. "Okay." he turns to get cleaned up.
[21:20] <Kotono> Elrisa waits while Willim does so, "You should hang some curtains in here," she observes, "Have you considered a few plants as well?"
[21:23] * Willim dunks his face in some water, then shrugs his vest on. "Curtains is frily things that go on windows? Not care. Plants is okay. Not have any plants, though."
[21:24] <Kotono> "It would give it a better touch," Elrisa insists as you get dressed, "I'm sure Misalea can give you some plants, too."
[21:26] * Willim shrugs. "If she want to." Shaking out his ropy hair, he sighs. "Meat time."
[21:32] <Kotono> Off you go! You walk with Elrisa, who keeps shooting you looks. After a few moments of walking, she asks in a careful voice, "Didn't you mother ever teach you how to brush your hair?"
[21:35] <Willim> "Momma was a demon, and pop was a troll. Pop dead. Momma banished. Me raised in orphanage. Was not so bad. Could be worse. Matrons not hate." Willim pulls a strand of hair out from behind one of his large horns. It's clearly almost half an inch thick. "Combs no work, hair too big."
[21:36] <Kotono> "Oh." Elrisa gives Willim another look, "Magic can. Hold still, I'll try it."
[21:39] * Willim patiently stops and waits while the crazy elf girl tries her nonsense.
[21:41] <Kotono> With a word of arcane energy and a touch to Willim's head, his hair rises up! Dirt and grim leaves it as it softens, as if washed and conditioned. It falls back, combed out and free of knots - as much as hair as his can be. Willim can catch a scent of strawberries coming from it now, too. "All done!" Elrisa says, "Don't you feel better now?"
[21:45] * Willim raises an eyebrow at the scent. "Is perma-pernam...stay long?"
[21:50] <Kotono> "No. It's just a single cleaning. It will fade in time, the magic isn't permanent," Elrisa smiles a little bit, "It's useful for cleansing yourself. You like it?"
[21:52] <Willim> "Is nice not to smell all like bad eggs all of time." Willim nods. "Dunno if stay long, though. Troll is strong in Willim, hair go back to way it was by tomorrow. Me try washing before, not go good."
[21:53] <Kotono> "Then learn some sorcery. Demon blood, while vile, is one of the sources of sorcererous power." Elrisa's voice is a little lighter now, "You can use it to clean your entire body."
[21:56] <Willim> "Spells is needing smarts, Willim is not smart. Me am dumb, but that is okay. Is not so bad. If me were smart, me probably not be so nice to others."
[22:02] <Kotono> "Sorcery works on force of will and personality, not intelligence. That's wizardry," Elrisa corrects, "Even a fool with a strong personal force can use sorcery."
[22:03] <Willim> "What personali-thing?"
[22:06] <Kotono> "Your force of will. Just..." Biting herl ip, "Nevermind." she sighs, "Come, Misalea's waiting for us."
[22:07] * Willim shrugs, dropping the topic.

[19:56] <Kotono> The gardens within Elrisa's tower are exactly as you remember them. Within a checkered cloth lies on the ground, a spread of light breakfast foods about, all around the center. The center is a pile of meats - you can see grilled ham, steak, deer and various other meats. Sitting nearby is Misalea, smiling as Willim and Elrisa enter.
[19:59] <Willim> MEAT! Willim heads forward!
[20:01] * Willim sits at the table, grabbing a handful of meat and shoving it into his mouth. He chews noisily. "Mrf, arf. Meat is gud."
[20:05] <Kotono> Misalea smiles, "How is it? I cooked it myself."
[20:05] <Kotono> Elrisa follows, sitting opposite Willim and a bit away, scooting back.
[20:07] * Willim swallows, pounding his chest in an effort to force the giant gob of meat down. "Cooked meat ddifferent from fresh. Fresh always tangy, sometimes wiggly. Cooked meat no move, but can be tastier. Is good." He reaches for more.
[20:26] <Kotono> "Good," Misalea nods, "Adrian mentioned you like to fight?"
[20:33] * Willim nods, manhandling some venison. "Willim always like fighting. Used to watch traders sometimes. When meet monks, me have much more fun. Meet god of fighting. Tempus is good god for Willim. Him like it when me am hitting things. Monks was good friends, treat Willim like person instead of crazy demon troll man. Was nice."
[20:38] <Kotono> "Yes, fighting," Elrisa murmurs, "How does Tempus work, exactly? Isn't he all about the chaotic tides of war?"
[20:49] * Willim nods, chewing thoughtfully. "Fighting is fighting. Not all fighting is good fighting. Tempus mean honor-able fighting. Not fighting weak or babies or weak babies. Not running from fight. Running bad, unless running to fight. Talking is no good, fighting best way to solve things. Him not random, just not caring about laws of towns and villagers."

[18:56] <Kotono> "A noble barbarian, perhaps," Elrisa answers as she slowly eats a bit of some fruit or another, something red. "Fighting like a man, throwing muscle against muscle and might against might. It ruins everything for nothing. Nothing of beauty is created."
[18:56] <Kotono> "I'm not so sure," Misalea speaks up as she smiles. It's an utterly innocent smile, "The best bard songs are from conflict and war. It is where heroes are born, is it not?"
[19:01] * Willim looks at Elrisa strangely. "But...is fighting. Fighting is needing strong. Jaela strong. Afina strong. Ithea strong. Not strong like Willim, but strong. Fancy dancy only take so far."
[19:03] <Kotono> "Might is not everything, nor is it the only thing. My art is just that - art. It turns battle in to far more than bloodshed and greatswords and axes tearing through chain mail.  Why do you fight if all you create is ugliness?" Elrisa pauses to nibble on a bit of an apple, "Can you undestand that at all, the desire for beauty and grace?"
[19:08] <Willim> "Me not think fighting supp-suopo-is having to be pretty. Fighting dirty and loud. Dancing pretty, flowers pretty, girls is pretty. Fighting not pretty. Fighting is...fighting. Is hitting and biting and clawing and yelling...and maybe eating afters. Vi-olent, is what monks say. Vi-olence change world, make things better or worse. Is nature of beast." he says before tearing a steak in half
[19:08] <Willim> with hs teeth.
[19:09] <Kotono> "It is a fair point. How can a beast be anything but a beast?" Misalea says in a deep, contemplative tone as she looks to Elrisa. "How can a man be anything but a man, as you would say it?"
[19:10] <Kotono> "A fine question. How can a human or a dwarf be anything but a human or a dwarf?" Murmuring that as she puts down her half eaten fruit, "At the same time, one hopes that man can become civilized."
[19:10] * Willim nods. "If man is woman, or stick, things confu-sing."
[19:11] <Willim> "What civil...ized?"
[19:13] <Kotono> "Ah, that reminds me of the ballad of the Man-Maiden." Giggling brightly, Misalea looks to Elrisa, "The story of a brave knight rescuing a lovely maiden, and finding out the maiden had a sword of her own."
[19:14] <Kotono> Elrisa turns really rather red at that and gives Misalea a thoughly offended look. "Do not speak of such gutter doggerel again," she retorts, "Civilized is being refined, polite, un-beast-like. It is living and being better, like myself."
[19:14] * Willim looks confused. "But she have sword too." he points at Elrisa. "Why so funny?"
