227.3 Alicia and Seira

[20:58] <Kotono> It's a fine afternoon for Seira when a guard comes with word for her to meet Commander Oberuth at the southern gates. It's sunny and as warm as the season permits. People come and go in a hurry, though on approaching, the southern gate is blocked off. There's some onlookers back from it - for sitting just inside the gate is a white unicorn. 01[20:59] <Seira> "What a pleasant surprise!" Seira says, jogging the rest of the way over.
[21:00] <Kotono> Rosamund comes closer to Seira, "Oh, Seira! Alicia's at my grove. She had to be cured of poison and isn't in her right mind. She said she came back from Hell and freed creatures from there. It would be best if you take her back so she can get better help. I was able to neutralize the poison, but I couldn't reverse the damage it had done. Her mind isn't right."
[21:01] <Kotono> Commander Oberuth nods curtly to that, "That's essentially why I called you here. Seira, take another person or two with you and go retreive Alicia." He instructs.
06[21:02] * Seira scowls. "That's not right, no." She glances at the Commander. "Sir, I could just teleport over and return the same way with Alicia, if it's Rosamund's grove. If you could prepare some help back in the temple of Waukeen, we'll just treat her there."
[21:05] <Kotono> "There's a little, faerie like creature she freed with her," Rosamund adds as well, "Though it seems to be in fine shape as well."

01[21:06] <Seira> "I'll be back with them both," Seira vows, and places her hand on Rosamund's back lightly before activating her ring!

[21:08] <Kotono> Wooosh! The two appear in Rosamund's grove! Alicia lies in her underclothes, her armor lying on the grass besides her. She looks to be asleep. A large adult unicorn lies at one side of her, while a baby one lies besides both of them. A little coure eladrin flutters in the air, sing-songing, "Free again! Free again, no more stinking baatezu or sub zero chills!"
[21:08] <Alicia> OOC: not in my underclothes! In my regular clothes. Sans armour.
06[21:09] * Seira approaches and looks Alicia over, businesslike, invoking the detect magic spell.
[21:10] <Alicia> Alicia looks healthy enough. Not any sign of blood or bruising on her. Her breathing is regular and even, too.

[21:10] <Kotono> "Ack, a half dragon?" Flying over to her, "Hi! Are you one of Alicia's friends?"
01[21:11] <Seira> "We're heading back," Seira says, picking up Alicia herself. Lagann is more than able of taking care of her armor. "Yep. We're friends, and you're welcome to come with us. Do you need to be treated as well?"
06[21:12] * Alicia stirs as she's jostled, immediately struggling in Seira's grip and reaching for her blade! She relaxes a bit as she realises who it is. "... Seira?"
[21:12] <Kotono> Flying around the rising armor and settling on Seira's shoulder, "I'm fine. I was frozen solid in the Halls of the Vanquished, but now that I'm not there, I'm great! Really, I just want to do something to make it up to Alicia, and by extension her friends, certainly, to make it up to them. I never thought I was going to be free again!"
01[21:13] <Seira> "Rosamund called me, so I came to bring you back," Seira tells Alicia, smiling disarmingly at her. "You and your little pal are heading back home in a few moments."
06[21:14] * Alicia frowns. "Can go back if I want," she explains slowly. "Wanted rest first... TO rest first," she briefly scowls. "Can't think right..."
[21:15] <Kotono> "What you need is a cleric's touch. Are there any nearby, to whereever you're going to teleport us to," The eladrin speaks up here.
01[21:15] <Seira> "I'll stop by some time to chat," Seira tells the unicorns, looking at Alicia worriedly. "I don't doubt that. But it's alright to get help, isn't it?" she says. "And yeah, little buddy. Hop on?"
[21:16] <Alicia> "Can get drinks... bottles.... POTIONS!" Alicia blurts out the last triumphantly as she gropes for the correct terminology. "Not going back like... like sick broken head woman! Let me fix self first," she reaches for her floating armour.
01[21:17] <Seira> "I'll help you with your armor," Seira offers. "And we'll return to a private room. It will be alright, trust me!"
06[21:18] * Alicia starts to put on her armour, at least managing that more through muscle memory than anything else, so it's done with little fuss. Except she seems to have forgotten about the strap she tore earlier, so it doesn't quite fit her as snugly as it should, hanging off her side oddly. She frowns and pulls at it experimentally...
06[21:18] * Seira silently calls upon Lagann's help with a makeshift strap made of metal that would hold for now.
[21:19] <Kotono> The metal of the armor twists slightly, supporting Alicia's armor into a useable, wearable form. Rosamund laughs a little at all of this, "Just take good care of her. Come back when there isn't an emergency going on."
01[21:20] <Seira> "I'll make sure to do that," Seira promises, and thinks of her room rather than the temple of Waukeen, as she originally planned on.

[21:20] <Alicia> "Ahhh!" Alicia twitches and reaches for her portable hole as she vanishes.
[21:21] <Kotono> Just in time! Alicia grabs her portal hole as the three reach Seira's room without incident.
01[21:22] <Seira> "Potions, right?" Seira asks Alicia, helping the paladin over to her bed. "I'll bring back a few. Can you wait a few moments?"

06[21:25] * Alicia frowns a bit as her hand vanishes into the hole briefly, having a slight struggle to fold it up properly. "Can wait," she nods primly, doing her best to act with proper decorum.
[21:25] <Kotono> The eladrin floats over to Alicia, "I'll tell you a story in the meantime. How about that?"
01[21:25] <Seira> "Sounds like fun," Seira agrees, and uses Dimensional Door to flash over to the main area of the Temple of Waukeen.
[21:26] <Alicia> "Sure!" Alicia nods and smiles at the eladrin. "Thank you, Dawnhope," she beams, inordinately proud of herself for remembering the coure's name. In her current state it was a challenge, anyway.

[21:32] <Kotono> Seira is soon back, bearing potions! Alicia has been listening to a story about the fun and right eladrins chasing off an entire realm of evil, cruel demons, no matter what the curse.

06[21:32] * Seira hands over a potion bottle, and knocks another against it lightly before raising it in salute. "Bottoms up?"
[21:33] <Kotono> "Then, the Tulani..." Dawnhope stops thes tory here, "Oh good. Hold on and drink up."
[21:33] <Alicia> "Oh! Thank you!" Alicia gushes, fumbling with the stopper and quickly knocking back the potion that will hopefully return her faculties.

06[21:34] * Seira looks on expectantly.
[21:34] <Alicia> "Ahh..." the fog clears, although some still lingers around the edges. "That... I think that did it," Alicia nods, blinking a few times as she mentally parses a few sentences. "Yes, the rest should hopefully come back to me soon enough. What do I owe you?"
01[21:34] <Seira> "How about a story?" Seira offers, holding another potion within reach should Alicia want it. "It sounds like it would be a good one."
06[21:36] * Alicia waves off the potion, instead picking up the snapped strap from her armour's side and casting a mending cantrip to fix it before she affixes the clasp properly. "I went to the Halls of the Vanquished again," she begins. "Dawnhope here was one of the people I failed to save the first time I went there with my sister."
[21:37] <Kotono> Dawnhope settles onto Alicia's lap, looking up with cupped hands under it's chin. "Oh, do tell."
06[21:37] * Seira nods, hopping on her desk to listen comfortably. "And you returned victorious, I see."
[21:39] <Alicia> "Not as much as I'd hoped," Alicia grimaces openly. "I'd planned it out, I thought quite well. The defences were vastly improved - now there's five ice devils for every one bearded devil that was there the first time! They weren't actually a threat, though, and I was able to work around them easily enough." She sighs and shakes her head, "I just never anticipated the poison."
[21:40] <Kotono> "Tsh, it's always what you don't expect. See, devils are kind of slow to change, so they make up for it with overwhelming plans and traps. Like that." Flutteringi t's wings a little, "Wow, someone got pissed if they had that many."
01[21:41] <Seira> "You can't really expect everything," Seira reasons. "And a win's a win, I'll say. Invite me along next time? Sounds like the cause's a pretty worthy one."
[21:41] <Alicia> "It's the perfect defence, I suppose," she concedes. "Devils are immune to poison, and had I used the release codes to try and have a group of prisoners fight out, they'd have been laid low by the poison as well." She then waves what appears to be a jet-black handkerchief in the air, "Luckily I had this, so that's how Dawnhope and one other were able to escape safely with me, avoiding that fate."
[21:42] <Kotono> "See? Nasty traps, but once you out-thought them, they couldn't compensate," Dawnhope nods quickly. "Good work!"
01[21:43] <Seira> "And now that you know of the poison, it could be defended against as well," Seira muses.
[21:43] <Alicia> "The other was a deceased mortal hero, so they've already went to their proper afterlife," she then explains the absence of said other. "Anyway, poison is easy enough for us to neutralise, I just never saw it coming."
[21:43] <Alicia> "If I had I could have easily liberated as many as ten, but once they started pumping in the gas I had to flee before it overwhelmed me... which it finally did, just as I was on the front doorstep."
[21:44] <Kotono> "Oh good. That's what burns me about that. Those poor heroes, they've brave enough to stand up to Hell and they get an afterlife of torment for it. Assholes," Growling low, very unpixie like as it kicks at the air, "Oooooh, they get me riled up."
06[21:46] * Alicia nods and smiles at the eladrin. "Yes, after my recent visit to the upper planes myself it really drove the injustice home. Just wish I'd had a contingency for poison - I'm normally all but immune to them myself, so it just never occured that one could be a threat. I must have breathed in several pounds of the stuff before I got out, though."
[21:48] <Kotono> "So someone's whipping them into shape, eh?" Rubbing it's tiny chin, "That really sounds like someone's taking it's defenses seriously. You said it was Bearded Devils last time?"
01[21:48] <Seira> "And ice devils this time. Fun."
[21:48] <Alicia> "Anyway, Seira, as to your very kind invitation..." Alicia gives the half-dragon a speculative smile. "I might have an idea for the next sortie that could clean out the place entirely, although naturally I couldn't do it alone."
01[21:49] <Seira> "You probably could if you put your mind to it," Seira says honestly, "but thanks for including me!"
[21:50] <Alicia> "It used to be run by a normal gelugon with a band of erinyes and barbazu minions, but now there's some sort of gigantic greater gelugon running the show with a veritable horde of gelugon lackeys," Alicia nods. "Did you get unfrozen at all since my first attempt to free you, Dawnhope?"
[21:51] <Kotono> "No such luck," With a little sigh there, "There's raids on occasion, but I bet a few of them had bad results if they've improved it that much. Do you know what happened to force the change so much?"
[21:53] <Alicia> "Me, basically," Alicia replies. "I only managed to escape with an astral deva, a shiradi eladrin, and this intelligent sword," she pats Hell Striker, "But the former caretaker paid a very heavy price for it happening. I can only hope the current one will suffer for this latest breach."
01[21:54] <Seira> "And another bright spot appears?"
[21:54] <Kotono> "Oh? Do tell!" Looking up at Alicia again, "What happened to old Azanu?"
[21:55] <Alicia> "He was made into an exhibit himself," Alicia can't help but look a little queasy at the memory, not able to call upon her usual composure right now. "Frozen in the centre of the main hall in the midst of being dismembered... although with my explosive exit he's probably floating in pieces across the Styx right now."
[21:55] <Kotono> With a growing grin, "It couldn't have happened to a nastier devil!"
01[21:57] <Seira> "It probably could, he had superiors, surely," Seira mutters.
[21:58] <Kotono> "Oh yeah. Way to spoil my fun," Hands on hips and glaring up at Seira, "Oh well, still, enjoy the moment! Anyway! Alicia! Seira!" Looking between them, "I owe Alicia here a big debt, and you by extension since you're her friend. Can I do anything to help you?"
06[21:59] * Seira snorts. "I do my best." At the offers, she shakes her head. "Be free, spread the goodness?"
06[22:00] * Alicia smiles and pats Dawnhope on the head. "Don't worry about it, really. Just consider us friends and that's enough for me - I'll be able to take you home tomorrow once my ring of plane-shift recharges. Which one are you from, anyway? I know most eladrin are from Arborea, but I know one that lived in Elysium."
[22:02] <Kotono> "Arborea." Nodding to that, "I stay here and there at it. Before this, I was spending time in Waukeen's part of Brightwater? It's fun there every couple of centuries."
06[22:02] * Seira is happy to hear that!
[22:02] <Kotono> "But still, I want to do something. Anything," Looking to the two, "Is ther eanyone hre I can help? Maybe I can tutor someone? Maybe I can just stay around your houses for awhile? Anywhere's safer with a coure around."

[22:04] <Alicia> "I was in Brightwater recently, I can take you there," Alicia nods. "And I actually already have a coure living with me, although I'm sure Marielle would love to meet you. She'd appreciate the support in her crusade against law, at any rate," she concludes with a light giggle, somewhat uncharacteristic of her.
06[22:04] * Seira quirks her lips in a smile.
[22:05] <Kotono> "Oh, this and that. Chaos, Good, Fun times. Some religious dogma of the Brightwater Gods as well." Then to Alicia, "Oh, you have an eladrin at your house? Let me go meet her, and really, you don't have to take me back right away. Let me see if I like it here first? It might be just the thing after so long in Hell!"
[22:06] <Alicia> "Well, I certainly don't mind if you want to stay, by all means," Alicia agrees happily.
01[22:06] <Seira> "Stop by the temple some time, then, when you have the time?" Seira asks of the eladrin. "Gilartal might enjoy a conversation with you, Dawnhope."
[22:06] <Kotono> "Sure," Nodding away, "Which temple? Is there more than onehere? Where exactly are we, anyway?"
01[22:07] <Seira> "We're in the city of Balmuria on Prime. The temple I mentioned is of Waukeen. You can't miss it!"
[22:08] <Kotono> "Right, I'll find it. Gilartal, got it," Nodding rapidfire to that, "Balmuria? Not a bad name. Kind of long. It's not very snappy, but it'll do."
[22:08] <Alicia> "There's a few other temples as well," Alicia confirms before asking, "How long were you down there, anyway?" She isn't sure but she thinks she recalls Beth mentioning a coure as one of the new arrivals when she was searching the records.
[22:09] <Kotono> "To be honest, I'm not sure." Scratching it's nose for a moment, "I'll find out later, don 't worry. It's not like I'm going to get old and die off or anything! A few years, a few centuries, it's all time."

[22:10] <Kotono> "Oh sure," Looking to Seira now, grinning, "I can check a map, but after I meet that o ther eladrin. I haven't seen one and had a good conversation in too long. I'll come by later when I'm ready for a history lesson?"
[22:11] <Alicia> "I suppose so," Alicia concedes to the eladrin's point. "Anyway, I better go and reassure Marie and Antenora that I'm not dead, and you can meet them as well if you want, Dawnhope," she offers, getting up.
01[22:11] <Seira> "If you'd like. Who am I to stand in the way of friendship?" Seira hops to her feet. "See you later, then, Dawnhope, Alicia?"
[22:12] <Kotono> "Right, let's go!" Perching on Alicia's shoulders, "I'll see you! Thanks!"
[22:12] <Alicia> "Bye, Seira... um, thanks for putting up with my odd behaviour," Alicia blushes a bit. "You won't tell anyone, right?"
06[22:13] * Seira looks offended. "Oh, come on!"
[22:14] <Alicia> "Good!" Alicia nods quickly. "I appreciate it, thanks!" she smiles before heading out.
