Your right that KBDH is definately light on the dark. =)  Those last two ideas were more as a possible source of inspiration, than a suggestion to add them wholesale.  I felt something like the WA (perhaps with less deadly intent? =P) fits into the kind of reality warping that's been going on so far, especially when you add Sasaki into the mix.  I've mentioned before that I liked the way you dealt with how Haruhi was compensating for Sasaki's abilities.  Sure, the WA are pretty creepy, but so is the Combine, when you start to think about interdimensional invasions, and entire universes being consumed.  Brings to mind that Classic SF series from Frederick Pohl?  Not Pohl... darn it, it's been so long since I read it, but it involved the Tarot a lot, an intergalactic war (Andromeda wants our energy, not our women), and interstellar travel of sorts by way of transmitting minds from one body to another (donor) body.

Ever since Kuyou and the "noodle incident", I can't help but imagine her entry in one of those character profiles- Kuyou: Least favorite Food/Hates -  Noodles. =)
