[15:58] <@Kotono> -------
[15:59] <@Kotono> Three days pass in a blur of contented happiness (save for Hamish and Iris, who feel constant, gnawing guilt and remorse) as you are trained. You spend most of it talking - Zum is quite talkative, and seems to know how to provoke you to say and realize exactly what he wants. With that and a few pointers, you find your skills solidifying. On the morning of the first day, after a hearty and hot
[15:59] <@Kotono> breakfast of eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit and clear water, "I think all of you have learned all you can for right now," he says. "Come back later and may be able to help you again."
[16:01] <Thyan> "We'd be glad to. Though...finding our way here the first time was pretty difficult."
[16:01] <Iris> After perfunctory thank yous and farewells, Iris walks out of the glade and again focuses her mystic senses on locating their next goal: still in the direction it was before?
[16:02] <@Kotono> OOC: Shard or portal?
[16:02] <Iris> OOC: shard, then portal
[16:02] <@Kotono> Both are in the same directions as sensed before.
[16:02] * Fiora nods, "Thank you." Fiora meant it with ever fiber of her being; the dragon had helped her get past something she had never been able to on her own.
[16:02] <@Kotono> "If we're fated to see each other again, we will. So is the way of everything, Thyan." Zum says.
[16:03] * Thyan pauses to bow to the dragon.
[16:03] * Aleira cracks her neck, feeling her newfound strength. "My thanks, good dragon!" She bids the wise Zum farewell. "I feel renewed for our journey." Aleira curtseys cutely, though the effect is muted by her lack of a skirt or a dress.
[16:07] <@Kotono> "Good fortune," Zum bids you as the party prepares to leave. OOC: What are you guys doing now?
[16:07] <Thyan> OOC: Shard-wards!
[16:07] <Aleira> OOC: That.
[16:07] <Fiora> OOC: yup
[16:08] <@Kotono> roll 1d100
[16:08] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d100 and gets 81." [1d100=81]
[16:08] <@Kotono> roll 1d100
[16:08] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d100 and gets 40." [1d100=40]
[16:09] <@Kotono> A day of travel passes. You travel through a rolling glade in late spring. It is warm without being the least bit uncomfortable, everything in full spring bloom. The flowers are bright, the sky is clear and the world seems so alive. The day passes without incident, evening approaching. OOC: How are you guys setting up camp for the evening? Anything else I need to be aware of?
[16:09] <Thyan> OOC: I'd be looking for herbs.
[16:09] <@Kotono> OOC: Make a survival check.
[16:10] <Thyan> roll d20+10 Survival
[16:10] * Hatbot --> "Thyan rolls d20+10 Survival and gets 18." [d20=8]
[16:10] <@Kotono> Thyan doesn't find any herbs of note this day. A few to spice up cooking that evening, but nothing useful for martial means.  OOC: Anything else, guys?
[16:11] <Iris> OOC: I have nothing special to recommend.
[16:11] <@Kotono> OOC: Okay then. Any sort of watch or looking for a good campground or anything like that?
[16:11] * Aleira decides to forage for herself this evening when they camp, feeling more attuned to nature during her time spent with Zum!
[16:11] <Iris> OOC: possibly the latter just in case it rains or something?
[16:11] <Thyan> OOC: I'd look for a camp ground.
[16:12] <@Kotono> OOC: Roll survival, Thyan. Are you foraging for anything in particular, Aleira?
[16:12] <Thyan> roll d20+10 Survival
[16:12] * Hatbot --> "Thyan rolls d20+10 Survival and gets 25." [d20=15]
[16:12] <Aleira> OOC: Food, water. PrC dictates that I live closer to nature and stuff. =p
[16:13] <Fiora> OOC: Fiora will be pulling Create Food/Water duties for anyone who wants it as usual.
[16:13] <@Kotono> It's not hard to find a little grove of trees. It's smaller than the one Zum inhabited, but it's quiet and full of sweet smelling wildflowers. Aleira finds no difficulty at all finding basic food. A clear, cool spring is found, as well as a blueberry bush. OOC: Anything else, guys?
[16:13] <Aleira> OOC: Who is taking first watch? I'll take second.
[16:13] <Thyan> OOC: Since I have the ring and only need 3 hrs of sleep, I'd be doing some portion of watch just because I'd be awake.
[16:14] <@Kotono> OOC: Okay. Aleira or someone else with Thyan. Choose someone in that case and I'll move y'all along.
[16:14] <Fiora> OOC: Aleira can do it, sure.
[16:14] <@Kotono> OOC: Righto.
[16:14] <@Kotono> roll 1d100
[16:14] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d100 and gets 49." [1d100=49]
[16:14] <@Kotono> roll 1d100
[16:14] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d100 and gets 27." [1d100=27]
[16:15] <@Kotono> The fourth night you spend in Elysium is peaceful. Beyond a few noisy badgers that briefly pass by, there are no disturbances at all. The fifth morning of your journey in this blessed land blooms bright and beautiful. OOC: Anything of note as you prepare for another day of travel, or just gonna keep on following?
[16:16] <Iris> OOC: second verse, same as the first!
[16:16] <Thyan> OOC: Yep.
[16:16] <@Kotono> OOC: Okay then.
[16:16] <@Kotono> roll 1d100
[16:16] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d100 and gets 75." [1d100=75]
[16:16] <@Kotono> roll 1d100
[16:16] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d100 and gets 10." [1d100=10]
[16:17] <@Kotono> Late in the fifth day, your shardsenses begin to feel stronger. The shard is closer, you're just sure of it. As you advance ahead, you can see it on the horizon. A mighty river, vast and long, sweeping ahead. OOC: K:P here if anyone likes.
[16:18] <Iris> roll 1d20+14-2 *shakes fist at goody two-shoes plane*
[16:18] * Hatbot --> "Iris rolls 1d20+14-2 *shakes fist at goody two-shoes plane* and gets 29." [1d20=17]
[16:18] <Fiora> OOC: take 10 for 18
[16:19] <Thyan> roll d20+12 K:P
[16:19] * Hatbot --> "Thyan rolls d20+12 K:P and gets 21." [d20=9]
[16:20] * Thyan squints a bit, then grins and twirls his mustache.
[16:20] * Fiora takes a couple steps ahead, eyes wide, "Is that...? I've heard of it...but I never thought I'd see it myself."
[16:20] <Iris> "The River Oceanus," Iris observes. "We could potentially ride it out of this plane," she adds, audibly glad at even the possibility of leaving Elysium.
[16:21] <Fiora> "Not while I was still alive, at least."
[16:21] <@Kotono> Ahead is a vast green plain - a simple floodplain, leading to the river on the horizon. It is longer than you can see to either side, and the far bank is not visible from here. It is still a goodly way ahead, even in the near-embers of the afternoon.
[16:22] <Thyan> "Well, well. I do believe you two are correct. Shall we go? We might be able to catch a ride and find some trading. And ale."
[16:22] * Iris concentrates--are their objectives on this side of the river, or across it?
[16:22] * Aleira raises an eyebrow. "No doubt the ale is the more important of the two."
[16:23] <Iris> "It is not," Iris states.
[16:23] * Fiora looks to Iris, who seems the most on the ball for shard sense of all of them.
[16:23] <@Kotono> Iris believes it's on this side, though she's not 100% certain quite yet.
[16:23] <Thyan> ".. I dunno. Depends on how the day's been going."
[16:23] * Thyan grins at Aleira and twirls his mustache again.
[16:23] <Iris> "Probably our target is along this bank," Iris concludes. "There is nothing for it but to keep moving and find out."
[16:24] <Aleira> "Let's keep at it." Aleira agrees with Iris.
[16:24] <Fiora> "Well, onward we go then." With a spring in her step, Fiora leads the way towards the pull of the shard.
[16:24] * Thyan heads out, acting as scout and trail guide.
[16:25] <@Kotono> Thus the party proceeds along. As you reach closer, the pull of your shardsense directs you towards the banks. They are smooth and muddy, with the occasional rock standing out amid it. On one rock your sense directs you, looming over the river - of which is a perfect, clear sky blue, the other side too far away to see. Atop the edge of that rock sits an angel. He is clad in armor of gold and
[16:25] <@Kotono> silver, radiating an aura of preternatural calm, love and hope. You can see it even from here. His face is classically beautiful, like a sculptor's statue, and yet full of welcoming love. HIs attention is focused on something he holds in his hand.
[16:26] * Thyan looks at the others.
[16:26] <@Kotono> As you can approach, you see that his hair is a shade of white resembling the pure clouds of the sky, his expression one of deep contemplation.
[16:26] <Thyan> "Well.. Not sure how I feel about trying to swim out there. Think we can get his attention? Seems pretty focused."
[16:27] <Fiora> (OOC: is the rock out in the river, or just along the shore overlooking the river?)
[16:27] * Iris strongly suspects the presence of a shard and pauses a moment to confirm this before boldly approaching the angel's perch.
[16:27] <@Kotono> OOC: It's along the shore.
[16:27] * Aleira cheerfully calls out, "Ho there, sir? Could we trouble you for a moment?"
[16:29] <@Kotono> It's indeed there. After Aleira calls out, his attention turns to the party. He smiles, a wave of love gently rustling by you like a warm breeze. "Come and sit by me," he offers, "You'll find the stone comfortable if your hearts are pure." In his hand is the shard - Iris is sure of it. Said hand is closed now, blocking sight of it. "What do you seek in eternity?"
[16:30] * Aleira shrugs and without a moment's hesitation goes to sit by the angel! "Well, I can't say I've thought about it much. When you're young, you think you're immortal."
[16:30] * Iris is not comfortable already, but plainly considers this someone else's fault. She sits across from the angel as suggested. "Peace," is her answer.
[16:31] <Thyan> "A story and a journey."
[16:31] * Thyan grins as he looks to the horizon for a moment.
[16:31] * Fiora approaches the rock, climbing up with the others, if there's room for one more. "I...well, I don't really know."
[16:32] <@Kotono> "Peace is a worthy goal," The angel murmurs, "Then let us find out." Smiling, "Why have you come here? These are places living mortals have no business in visiting."
[16:33] <Thyan> "The best stories come from people going where they're not supposed to."
[16:33] <Fiora> "We're on a quest, to protect the sanctity of dreams." Fiora responds easily, feeling no need to guard her words with an angel in this place.
[16:33] * Thyan continues grinning at the Angel.
[16:34] <Iris> "We are collecting objects such as those you hold in your hand," Iris says, straight to business. "Truly we do not otherwise belong here, but it sounded a welcome respite from travels in Hades and Acheron."
[16:34] * Aleira simply remains silent, basking in the sun and dangling her feet over the side of the rock.
[16:35] <@Kotono> Here the angel closes his eyes as he nods, "Perhaps there is some truth to that," he admits, "You seek this?" He opens his hand, a glittering dream shard within! He closes it a moment later, "I can feel the power of dreams within it. I have come close to unraveling the secrets within." Admitting as such as he opens his eyes, "With this, my brothers and sisters can take pieces of Elysium into
[16:35] <@Kotono> the dreams of mortals. Nightmares can be made a thing of the past, and every mortal's dreams can guide them to paradise."
[16:36] <Iris> "What if mortals wish their dreams to remain their own?" Iris asks.
[16:36] * Thyan frowns a little.
[16:36] <Aleira> "Uhh..." Aleira raises her head. "Mr. Angel sir...pardon me, but what's your name?"
[16:36] <Fiora> "And fiends can accomplish much the same with ones they hold," Fiora nods, sadly. "The Lady who protects the Dreams has asked us to help her make it whole again, so that the dreams of mortals do not become yet another battlefield."
[16:38] <Thyan> "Aye. If Angels influence the dreams of all mortals, would not your enemies do the same? If for no other reason than to simply spite you?"
[16:38] <@Kotono> "What mortal would deny us, save those who have fallen into the shadows of evil?" he asks back, "My name is Starril, Angel of Hope." He is silent a few moments, "The fiends..." He looks down at the shard in his hand, "How long have you been in Elysium?"
[16:39] <Thyan> "A mere few days."
[16:39] * Aleira stretches on the rock, still basking. "Well, only a few days. Five at the most. But really, ", she adds, "what they say is true. We mortals have already got it tough. We don't need our dreams pulled into your wars."
[16:39] <Iris> "We have been here five days," Iris says, clearly keeping careful track of their time. "You suggest it is the way of Elysium to make all mortals its own whether or not it is their will? You suggest this is the way of virtue?"
[16:40] <@Kotono> "Elysium will bring Good to all," Starril replies, "If you desire this shard, I will trade it to you on one condition."
[16:41] <Aleira> "Oh?" Aleira perks up again. "What's that?"
[16:41] <Iris> "I am familiar with such offers," Iris says absolutely without enthusiasm.
[16:41] * Aleira deadpans, "It's becoming a recurring theme with us."
[16:41] <@Morana> "I would hope your condition is a desire to join us and ensuring other shards don't fall into the hands of fiends?" Morana asks with a small smile.
[16:42] <@Kotono> "Stay another three days. Camp before the shores of Oceanus and rest. In that time, the plane of Elysium will call to you, asking you to come home. " Looking out over the water a moment, gesturing, "If your will is iron enough to resist the call, I will bestow the shard onto you. If your will is not strong enough to do so, the fiend's will enslave and break your will in your quest, rendering
[16:42] <@Kotono> your hopes for naught.""
[16:43] * Thyan raises an eyebrow.
[16:43] <Thyan> "You wish us to pit ourselves against the influence of an entire plane?"
[16:44] * Aleira shrugs. "That seems easy enough!"
[16:44] <Fiora> "We survived the rains of Hades," Fiora notes. Though with a sad, half glance at Morana.
[16:44] <Aleira> "This is easily the least taxing thing we've had to do in search of these shards so far."
[16:45] * Aleira pats Starril. "And what happens if we don't resist the call?"
[16:45] <Fiora> "What you ask of us is dangerous...but failing here means eternity in paradise, rather than death and worse in a lower realm."
[16:45] <@Morana> "My will has grown stronger after our recent trials. Do not worry for me again, Lady Gauss," Morana says in reply at the glance. "I will be fine, as will the rest of us, I'm sure. -All- of us have grown stronger."
[16:45] <@Kotono> With a gentle smile, "You stay in paradise." With a chuckle, "Losing is a sweet poison."
[16:46] <Fiora> "Still," she looks up to the angel and nods, "I am willing to take this test. My time is not yet, there is more I must do before I have earned this rest."
[16:46] * Thyan frowns a bit more.
[16:47] <Iris> "It is not in my interest to stay here longer than necessary," Iris says, considering things a moment before asking: "Starril, I am curious to know your definition of "Good." Please enlighten me."
[16:47] <Aleira> "That doesn't seem like a horrible thing." Aleira pauses. "Still...we have an obligation to serve the Lady. We made a pledge to her cause. There are still mortals out there with honor, you know."
[16:47] <Thyan> "... I suppose if it's meant to be so, the Brothers will guide me towards the path of my journey."
[16:48] <@Kotono> "A moment, if you will," A polite nod to Iris, "I would like to know first if we are agreed to terms."
[16:50] <Iris> "I find the terms high-handed and disagreeable," Iris says. "You offer us an object you do not properly understand. We risk the termination of all future decisions we might otherwise have made. I will accommodate the majority opinion of my companions. But I do not personally find the bargain agreeable."
[16:54] <Thyan> "I too dislike this. You wish us to allow ourselves to come under the influence of an entire plane, at no real cost or risk to you, in return for an object you cannot use."
[16:54] <Hamish> "Would you be agreeable to terms that do not possibly end in the breaking of our word?" Hamish asks, not quite smiling.
[16:55] <Thyan> "Or to exposing yourself to a similar danger? Say, perhaps.. If we are successful, you join us?"
[16:57] <Fiora> Fiora shakes her head, "I...think that at least would be a bad idea. The presence of an immortal on our own team...well, as I said to the Harmonies when we dealt with them, we may have to treat with other beings, of other wildly different beliefs."
[16:58] <Fiora> "Having an angel among us would make it impossible to deal politely with anyone who would oppose the heavens. While I'd rather NOT have to make deals with those sorts," Fiora sighs, "we recently had to just to escape Hades."
[17:01] <@Kotono> Starril listens to all, "I must ascertain if your will is strong enough for this task. If it is not, then you will face a far crueler fate than the one here. If it is so, then I offer you a mercy. Should your will be strong enough, I have confidence you will not submit to the fiends."
[17:02] * Aleira shrugs. "To be fair, the penalty for losing is...not so bad as it could be. There are worse fates for failure. I, for one, am willing to submit to his terms."
[17:02] <Iris> "Is it of no consequence to you that we have already survived such odds?" Iris asks.
[17:02] <Thyan> "I still do not wish for my travels to end here."
[17:03] <Fiora> "I would ask," Fiora notes, with a somber tone, "That if...if some of us fail..." she swallows, not wanting to contemplate that, "you still intend to give the shard to those who do not, yes? And...if we all fail..." she seems less concerned of this, perhaps confident in her own ability at least, "you would see the Shard given to the Lady of Dreams yourself."
[17:04] <@Kotono> "I understand that," A nod to Thyan, "But I will not be swayed in having proof. It would be foolish of me to give this shard up without it." Closing his hand around it again, "I will do so if that occurs, and guide those who come home to where they are meant to be here."
[17:04] <Fiora> "Regardless of your intentions, merciful and good as they are," Fiora looks him in the eye at this point, so he can see her conviction in what she speaks, "it does not belong to you."
[17:04] <@Morana> "I have faith in our abilities to stand this test, but along with Fiora's comment, I also have to ask...if you intend to give it to those who do not fail, could simply Fiora and I take your test, perhaps?" Morana offers.
[17:06] <@Kotono> Looking Fiora back in the eye, "If you seek the shards as one, then you all must take the test. To avoid that would rob me of the proof I desire." Then, "If you all fail, I shall consult with my brothers and sisters about this shard, and we will take the wishes of this Lady of Dreams into account as well."
[17:07] * Fiora does not flinch or falter under his gaze, "Very well."
[17:07] <Hamish> "Well that seems more fair at least."
[17:07] * Thyan grunts and looks at the others.
[17:07] <Thyan> "I'm not happy about it, but if it's the way it has to be..."
[17:07] <Iris> "I stand on record that this offer is tantamount to exploitation," Iris says. "But if I am outvoted by my companions wishing to adhere with the conditions offered by Fiora, I will comply." Iris sounds very done with this conversation and is looking on the angel with something very far from admiration.
[17:09] * Aleira sighs and nods. "Let's do it."
[17:10] <Hamish> "I think we can succeed." Hamish nods, smiling widely again!
[17:11] <@Kotono> "Then we have an agreement. I give my word to the terms proposed." At this Starril takes to wing, "Rest on these banks for three days. I will return then - I trust you to honor the agreement and face the will of Elysium on your own, and that you will move to subvert our agreement. I in turn shall adhere to it."
[17:12] * Fiora nods, "You have my word."
[17:12] <@Kotono> *banks
[17:13] * Fiora looks to Iris, "Ah, I'm afraid I was unable to grasp the spell that can withstand a plane's influence. Did you manage to learn it? I thought I heard you asking our draconic mentor about it as well? If you do, after the trial is over, we can use that until we reach the portal, perhaps?"
[17:14] <@Kotono> With that Starril takes to the skies, flying off. OOC: Any IC chat here or prep or anything of note, or are you guys just gonna mill three days?
[17:14] <Thyan> OOC: I'll mill and scout around for herbs and stuff.
[17:15] <Iris> "I comprehend this spell now," Iris confirms. "But I do not believe it would be of assistance against an effect of this magnitude. We have only our own will to rely upon." She settles into a silence as warm and friendly as the rock they rest upon.
[17:15] <Aleira> OOC: I'll mill and do some fishing.
[17:15] <Hamish> OOC: If, by chance, we're happened upon by a pair of pegasi, I'm gonna try to convince them to be my horses.
[17:15] <@Kotono> Perhaps vexingly, Iris finds the rock surprisingly warm and comfortable. Almost friendly, even.
[17:15] <Hamish> OOC: Hint.
[17:15] <@Kotono> OOC: Okay, make 3 survival checks, Thyan.
[17:15] <@Kotono> OOC: Noted, Hamish. I'll roll encounters after everything else.
[17:16] <Fiora> OOC: after figuring out if playing in the river will mess with her at all, Fiora will take the chance to swim and stuff! And practice her sword work. And work in her journal., Etc.
[17:16] <Iris> Iris sets out Barnabus to sun himself next to her. He is never warm or friendly! Otherwise she will spend her time reading and contemplating as usual.
[17:16] <Thyan> roll d20+10 Survival
[17:16] * Hatbot --> "Thyan rolls d20+10 Survival and gets 15." [d20=5]
[17:16] <Thyan> roll d20+10 Survival
[17:16] * Hatbot --> "Thyan rolls d20+10 Survival and gets 29." [d20=19]
[17:16] <Thyan> roll d20+10 Survival
[17:16] * Hatbot --> "Thyan rolls d20+10 Survival and gets 29." [d20=19]
[17:17] <@Kotono> OOC: Loot post coming up for that, Thyan. The water's safe, Fiora. Anything else, guys
[17:17] <@Kotono> ?
[17:17] * Hamish sets about making repairs on his battered cart, grumbling about the damages, the sun, the grass, and how just generally nice it is.
[17:17] <@Morana> ooc: nope
[17:17] * Fiora is a HORRIBLE swimmer, but seems to have quite a bit of fun splashing about in the shallows~
[17:17] <Thyan> OOC: Nope, not really. Just typical scouting/hunter type stuff.
[17:19] * @Morana joins Fiora in the fun, splashing both Fiora and Thyan whenever he passes close by the shallow waters!
[17:19] * Thyan makes a point to try and trip Morana face-first into he water.
[17:20] * Iris makes a point of not being involved that involves taking her clothes off.
[17:20] <@Kotono> OOC: Loot post for Thyan, now rolling encounters
[17:20] <@Kotono> roll 1d100
[17:20] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d100 and gets 3." [1d100=3]
[17:20] <@Kotono> roll 1d100
[17:20] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d100 and gets 87." [1d100=87]
[17:20] <@Kotono> roll 1d100
[17:20] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d100 and gets 19." [1d100=19]
[17:20] <@Kotono> roll 1d100
[17:20] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d100 and gets 60." [1d100=60]
[17:20] <@Kotono> roll 1d100
[17:21] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d100 and gets 19." [1d100=19]
[17:21] <@Kotono> roll 1d100
[17:21] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d100 and gets 52." [1d100=52]
[17:21] <@Kotono> It is a blessed few days of happiness. On the seventh night the party beds down, as sleep comes and...OOC: Okay, everyone make a will save. Note what your alignment is in the saving throw.
[17:21] <@Kotono> OOC: Despite the text, I presume you can use auras and stuff since you know it's coming, if you were going to.
[17:22] <Thyan> roll d20+4 Will (Chaotic Good)
[17:22] * Hatbot --> "Thyan rolls d20+4 Will (Chaotic Good) and gets 22." [d20=18]
[17:22] <Iris> roll 1d20+9+4 inspiration point on principle even though I only fail on a 1
[17:22] * Hatbot --> "Iris rolls 1d20+9+4 inspiration point on principle even though I only fail on a 1 and gets 21." [1d20=8]
[17:23] <Fiora> roll 1d20+10 will (Lawful Good)
[17:23] * Hatbot --> "Fiora rolls 1d20+10 will (Lawful Good) and gets 15." [1d20=5]
[17:23] <@Kotono> OOC: Alignment, Iris?
[17:23] <Iris> OOC: Oops, LN!
[17:23] <Aleira> roll 1d20+9 will (Lawful Good)
[17:23] * Hatbot --> "Aleira rolls 1d20+9 will (Lawful Good) and gets 27." [1d20=18]
[17:23] <Hamish> roll 1d20+11 Chaotic Neutral
[17:23] * Hatbot --> "Hamish rolls 1d20+11 Chaotic Neutral and gets 25." [1d20=14]
[17:24] <Fiora> (OOC: Mine becomes 18 with Morana's aura)
[17:24] <@Morana> roll d20+18 Morana
[17:24] * Hatbot --> "Morana rolls d20+18 Morana and gets 34." [d20=16]
[17:25] <@Kotono> OOC: Okay, familiars+horse need to save too. It affects all but outsiders.
[17:25] <Iris> roll 1d20+6 iguana, can't recall if they have alignment
[17:25] * Hatbot --> "Iris rolls 1d20+6 iguana, can't recall if they have alignment and gets 26." [1d20=20]
[17:25] <Thyan> roll d20+3+8 Will (Birdy)
[17:25] * Hatbot --> "Thyan rolls d20+3+8 Will (Birdy) and gets 14." [d20=3]
[17:26] <Thyan> OOC: Shit, -8. Forgot pet doesn't get bonus. Low in.
[17:26] <@Morana> ooc: Birdy is too dumb to benefit from my bonuses, yes.
[17:26] <@Kotono> OOC: Okay. Horsey
[17:26] <@Kotono> ?
[17:26] <Hamish> roll 1d20+2 RED
[17:26] * Hatbot --> "Hamish rolls 1d20+2 RED and gets 9." [1d20=7]
[17:26] <Hamish> OOC: I need new horses.
[17:29] <@Kotono> Dawn. Dawn comes with light and glory. All the party grapple with it - a gentle, insistent call. A call home, a call to peace, contentment and serenity. Yet each of you push it aside. In that dawn all of you do - save for Aaliyah. Her feathers take on a golden sheen as she takes to the air, one final cry before she flies away. Likewise Hamish's surviving horse turns an intense color of copper,
[17:29] <@Kotono> neighing and trotting away. OOC: The horse and the bird are gone. Move any stats they had into the stickied graveyard topic and go ahead and react.
[17:31] <Hamish> "...well shit. I need new horses." Hamish says, removing his wide hat and rubbing at his bald head in consternation.
What if they're not stars at all? What if the night sky is full of titanic far-off lidless eyes, staring in all directions across eternity?

Yuthirin

[17:31] * Thyan stares up at the bird, squinting and following its flight path.
[17:31] <Thyan> "Well... I suppose all I can say is I hope she's happy. I'll miss her, though."
[17:31] * Fiora wakes up, and writes in her journal as usual, sadly observing the leaving forms of the horse and hawk, "Perhaps...they knew this was their only way to leave the danger we face. They did not agree to this quest, after all. Only followed their masters into it."
[17:31] * Iris watches the bird fly away. "I suspect we should've negotiated for recompense of any renegade chattels," Iris says, scratching her iguana on the back of its head for reassurance of its presence. She gets an unfriendly nip on the finger as a reward.
[17:33] <@Kotono> Even the nip doesn't last - it heals almost instantly in Elysium's verdant life. With the dawn comes another - Starril returns on wing, alighting on the same rock that you first met him on. "A bright morning to all," he calls, "I see your will is as formidable as you claimed."
[17:33] <Hamish> "Better'n gettin' eaten by astral tigers, I suppose."
[17:33] <@Morana> "I did say we had all gotten stronger from our recent trials," Morana says with a sense of satisfaction.
[17:33] <Fiora> "I cannot leave an obligation unfulfilled," Fiora responds, closing her journal and standing up.
[17:34] <Iris> Iris allows her steady glare to speak for itself.
[17:37] <@Kotono> Opening his hand out, "As promised," he says, "This shard is related to suffering dreams and the strength those who bear those dreams gain," he announces, "Which of you desire it?"
[17:38] * Iris raises an eyebrow. "It depends wholly on what manner of strength you speak of. Physical strength does not concern me."
[17:38] <@Morana> "Iris was the most displeased with this offer, I suppose it's only fair she has first crack at seeing if it favors her," Morana suggests.
[17:38] * Iris shrugs and reaches out for the shard. There's only one way to test it out, right?
[17:39] <@Kotono> The shard is passed to Iris! She can feel the power of it, settling into her mind as she holds it! OOC: Edit into the shards topic. I designed this pregame, so the cost seemed a lot more reasonable to the party then.
[17:42] * Iris pauses a moment to assess the personal changes wrought by this shard. "This is amenable," she concludes.
[17:44] * Hamish looks at the angel. "I don't suppose you have horses for sale or trade? My last one decided he liked it here more."
[17:45] <@Kotono> From there Starril offers his hand out, "I do not, but there's a village within a day's travel upstream. If your cart is a concern, I can help pull it along. However, we do not sell animals in Elysium. We find friends instead. If you seek a friend with a pure heart, you will find one when the time is right."
[17:45] * Iris focuses to ascertain whether any other shards are discernible on Elysium.
[17:46] <Hamish> "I was friends with m'horses. I can do that." Hamish nods. "I'd be much obliged for the help."
[17:46] <@Kotono> You do not detect any more shards on Elysium.
[17:46] <Aleira> "Hurrah!" Aleira cheers. "Finally, we got a shard that didn't require us to kill, maim, or bribe someone!"
[17:46] * Aleira gives the angel a cute curtsey. "Many thanks!"
[17:46] <Iris> "Excuse, me Starril," Iris asks. "Could you also tell us where the nearest portal would take us?"
[17:47] <@Kotono> As Starril gets a rope out from...nowhere at all, yet it is there... and ties it to one side of the cart, slinging it over shoulder, "There is one thing. I had a dream last night when contemplating," he says, "It was about you, Iris."
[17:47] <Iris> "Is that so?" Iris asks, not expecting much encouraging to come from this.
[17:48] <@Kotono> "I dreamt of a friend who demanded the soul of your unborn child," he goes on, "Would you listen to Elysium's council on this matter?"
[17:49] <Iris> "I have already refused this offer," Iris says flatly.
[17:50] <@Kotono> "You chose wisely," Starril replies, "For I saw the child's soul ripped from your womb in that moment, even though you had not yet conceived, and it was followed by your own soul a second later. That foul land was eager to welcome a mortal who would sacrifice her child for personal greed." Starril looks right into the eyes of Iris, like a wise father. "You would have gained nothing and lost
[17:50] <@Kotono> everything."
[17:51] <@Morana> "We all kind of figured that much," Morana comments.
[17:51] <Fiora> "Hades is rather...non subtle," Fiora agrees.
[17:52] <Thyan> "Aye. We knew it to be wrong as soon as it was spoken."
[17:52] <@Kotono> "Wise," Starril says, as the journey begins! OOC: Anything of note as you travel?
[17:52] <Aleira> OOC: You know, I kinda want to look up Yulia. >_>
[17:52] <Hamish> OOC: You can't.
[17:53] * Fiora will ask Starril if he can give any advice on how to go about defeating a charonoloth(sp?) for once we go back to Hades after the jerk.
[17:53] <Iris> OOC: other than tracking the portal and asking Starril if he knows how far away it is/where it goes, nah, nothing special
[17:53] <@Morana> ooc: Have him give us awesome fiend-slaying weapons!
[17:54] <Thyan> OOC: Ask about local legends. If there's something like those monks that can give us a decent reward to use as an edge, worth talking about.
[17:54] <@Kotono> As you walk along under the morning sun, the ground springy and soft, "A charonoloth? I've only heard stories, but their power resides within the Styx," he says. "Remove them from it and they are weaker. They are not weak, but nor are they overly strong. They can be overcome if assaulted swiftly and skillfully. Holy weapons help." Pausing to look up, "But be wary of the power of the Styx. Those
[17:54] <@Kotono> touched by it lose all memories if they are lucky. If they are not, it only leaves the bad ones." Hanging his head a moment, "I know of one pitiable creature condemned to such a fate."
[17:55] <Iris> "There is no cure for this ailment?"
[17:55] * Aleira pipes up curiously, "Who might that be, Starril?"
[17:56] <@Kotono> "Direct divine intervention - a miracle - has a chance," Starril says, "Or so the stories I heard say. A courre eladrin. She rants of liches and plagues and worse things yet." Shaking his head sadly, "She had to be resigned to a sanitarium in hopes of helping her and forging a new identity."
[17:58] <Iris> "Unfortunate," is Iris's succinct summary. Divine intervention is, at this time, quite beyond her capabilities, so there seems little else to be said.
[17:58] <Thyan> "Indeed. Perhaps one day our journey will take us to a place where we can find something to help her."
[17:58] * Aleira frowns. "My gramps used to tell me stories about courre. They sounded like such beautiful creatures." Aleira tilts her head thoughtfully. "Do you think a visit would help cheer her up? If it's on our way, maybe I could help her out!"
[17:59] <@Kotono> "If you are interested, the Dawn Sanitarium is a week's journey from Arleford - the village I'm taking you to," Starril says, "But I do not know if she has improved. She ranted for people to listen to her, yet could not recall a single name - only vague descriptions of horror."
[18:00] * Iris grimaces. "A week's journey is considerably out of our way, unless there happens to be a planar portal very nearby this establishment."
[18:01] <@Kotono> "I do not know of any," Starril admits, "Though I do not track knowledge of them myself. I rarely have reason or duty to leave Elysium."
[18:01] <@Morana> "I'd hate to agree, but when we can't really do much for her...as Sir Aldcar said, maybe we'll find something in our travels, and then it would certainly be worthwhile."
[18:02] * Aleira sighs sadly. "I suppose it can't be helped."
[18:02] <@Kotono> After a moment, "It may be you help her, it may be not. Elysium encourages friends and love, but..." he shrugs, "The Styx is cruel."
[18:02] * Thyan nods.
[18:04] * Aleira crinkles her brow. "Actually, you know what? You guys are probably going to have to spend a day or two in town looking for friends to help haul the cart. If Starril can give me a lift to the sanitarium..." Aleira trails off. "I don't know why, but I feel compelled to meet this poor creature."
[18:06] <@Morana> "You are a strange girl, Aleira," Morana says with a raised eyebrow.
[18:06] <@Kotono> "Compelled?" Starril asks, voice curious, "What compels you so?"
[18:07] * Aleira shrugs at the Angel. "Honestly? It's a combination of curiosity and Gramps' stories." Aleira looks a little guilty as she adds, "I've always wanted to meet a courre. And if I can help this one, even a little bit...then the journey would have been worth it, right?"
[18:08] <@Kotono> Starril ponders a moment, "Your intentions are noble, but strength is not my virtue. I am not strong enough to carry you that far, that long."
[18:08] <Thyan> "I.. Would not be very willing to stay here long enough to fall under Elysium's influence."
[18:09] * Aleira looks visibly disappointed. "I understand. Maybe I'll pass through here again sometime soon."
[18:10] <@Kotono> OOC: Ready to move along then, guys?
[18:10] <Hamish> OOC: Please.
[18:10] <Thyan> OOC: Yep.
[18:13] <@Kotono> The rest of the day passes without incident. Mid afternoon leads you to Arleford. It is a town situated near the banks of the River Oceanus. It is stone and wood, perhaps one hundred buildings leisurely scattered about wide, clean streets. The scent of clean water dominates the air, as ahead contented humanoids of all types pass to and fro. "Here," Starril announces, "Seek Guille's for supplies
[18:13] <@Kotono> and Riverfront for a good meal."
[18:15] * Hamish nods, grinning at the angel. "My thanks, man."
[18:15] * Iris pauses to ascertain whether the direction of the nearest portal has changed. Likely on their side of the river, or difficult to tell?
[18:16] <@Kotono> On your side of the river, somewhere roughly north-ish.
[18:16] * Hamish heads for Guille's.
[18:17] * Thyan eyes Morana.
[18:17] <@Kotono> OOC: What are y'all doing? Shopping? Eating? Anything else? Lemme know.
[18:17] <Thyan> "... I help with the supplies and you get the ale ready?"
[18:17] * Iris has nothing in particular to look for while they're in town. Somewhere quiet to read while supplies are procured is quite sufficient for her purposes! She very much doubts her assistance is required for finding horses, after all.
[18:18] * Aleira decides to walk around and talk with the locals, just to say hi and listen to the local gossip!
[18:18] <Hamish> OOC: Looking for the most expensive horses I can find.
[18:19] <@Kotono> OOC: Okay. Aleira first. Roll a Gather Information check real quick? I f you lack ranks it's a charisma check.
[18:19] <Thyan> OOC: Since I have K:N, I should be able to help determine the best horses.
[18:19] <Hamish> OOC: Pegasi, if I can find them
[18:20] <Hamish> OOC: Or some other kind of flying load-puller
[18:20] <Aleira> roll 1d20+4 Where's my juicy gossip?
[18:20] * Hatbot --> "Aleira rolls 1d20+4 Where's my juicy gossip? and gets 20." [1d20=16]
[18:21] <@Kotono> Aleira finds the gossip is really rather tame and playful. Everyone seems so -happy-. There's no vicious backbiting or unpleasant rumors at all. There are endless tides of stories of shared dinners, festivals, celebrations and the little, gentle aspects of the days passing by. There's not a single ill word spoken about anyone.
[18:22] <Aleira> Well, that was disappointing. =(
[18:22] <@Kotono> OOC: It's Heaven. It's supposed to be peaceful and happy. >_>
[18:22] <Aleira> OOC: And pardon me ,wrong window
[18:23] <@Kotono> OOC: Okay. Is anyone going with Hamish and Thyan for supplies'n'horses?
[18:23] <Aleira> OOC: I do have handle animal. I will as well.
[18:24] <@Kotono> OOC: Okay. Anyone else? If one more wants to go we may as well make it a full party thing.
[18:24] <Fiora> OOC: Fiora will leave the animal finding to the animal people, she'll help get supplies
[18:25] <Hamish> OOC: They're at the same place!
[18:26] <@Kotono> OOC: Okay then.
[18:29] <@Kotono> OOC: First off, post any mundane, non-horse purchases in loot. Do that while I line.
[18:29] <Thyan> OOC: I'd wanna look into getting that dagger fully ID'd.
[18:30] <@Kotono> OOC: Okay, can be done there.
[18:31] <@Kotono> Thus the party heads to Guille's. It's a sturdy cabin a little away from the river banks. Here are shelves full of everything from iron rations to nails, coils of rope, saddles and barrels.  Sitting in a chair in the back is a dwarf, brown-bearded and sitting in a hard stone chair. "Welcome!" he calls, "Guille's the name. I see to those who have need of wealth and treasure yet."
[18:32] <Hamish> "Hullo, good dwarf! How's tricks?" Hamish says amiably.
[18:33] <@Kotono> "Oh, good enough to get by," he says casually, "Good enough to keep me busy. Why, yesterday I traded a barrel of nails and bucket of tar to a mercane for twenty good quilts!"
[18:34] <Hamish> "Good to hear! Got any horses? Mebbe some that fly?"
[18:37] <@Kotono> "Horses?" Patting his stomach, "I'm afraid not, but there's a herd thataways out of town." Gesturing with a thumb, "They're a friendly sort."
[18:39] <Hamish> "Thanks!" Hamish says, heading out and waving. "I'll be back!"
[18:39] <Thyan> "Hamish! Want to wait a few for me to finish up and go with you?"
[18:41] <Hamish> "Okay." Hamish stops.
[18:41] <@Kotono> "What business do ya have?" The dwarf asks.
[18:42] <Thyan> "I was wondering if you could check out a dagger I have. Give me some more information on it."
[18:43] <@Kotono> "Sure!" The dagger is taken and looked at, information returned! OOC: Post.
[18:43] * Thyan heads out with Hamish.
[18:45] <@Kotono> From there the group heads out of the Arleford. About a mile out you see them. Great Clydesdales, huge and proud horses. They gallop about, a tint of golden to them that stands out proudly. There are perhaps two dozen spread out of the perfectly green, lush plains of Elysium.
[18:48] <Hamish> Not light horses by any means, then. Good good. Hamish strolls up, hand full of crushed oats as he attempts to make friends!
[18:48] * Thyan studies the horses, using his experience with animals to better judge them. (K:N roll?)
[18:49] <@Kotono> OOC: Sure.
[18:49] <Thyan> roll d20+12 K:N
[18:49] * Hatbot --> "Thyan rolls d20+12 K:N and gets 18." [d20=6]
[18:49] <@Kotono> OOC: Make a Handle Animal check, Hamish. +2 bonus fort the oats. (Unless you have wild empathy, in which case use that.)
[18:50] <Hamish> roll 1d20+11+2
[18:50] * Hatbot --> "Hamish rolls 1d20+11+2 and gets 20." [1d20=7]
[18:51] * Thyan whistles low as they run.
[18:51] <@Kotono> With oats Hamish gets attention. One horse in particular comes over, going right for them!
[18:52] <Thyan> "They're all fine animals, from here. You'd do well with any of them. But they're not normal horses. Celestials. Going to need to be more careful with them."
[18:53] <Hamish> "Just means they're smarter and tougher." Hamish says to Thyan. He turns to the horse approaching them. "Hey there, bud. Want some oats?"
[18:53] <@Kotono> Oh, he does. The oats are gone right after.
[18:54] <Thyan> "Aye, but smarter might mean smarter than you, too."
[18:54] * Thyan grins at Hamish.
[18:55] * Hamish chuckles and holds the oats out for the horse to take. He pats the horse on the snout, rubbing his head. "You wanna come with us? We need some strong horses to pull the cart and keep us company on our travels. Looks like we'll be going all sorts of places."
[18:55] <@Kotono> The horse looks right into Hamish's eyes and nods.
[18:56] <Thyan> "Careful, too, Hamish. They've Warhorse blood in them. They might not be content with a cart forever."
[18:57] <Hamish> "Well alright, then." Hamish nods at the horse. "You got a friend that might want to come with us?"
[18:58] * Hamish looks at Thyan. "I can tell. They'll do alright, I think. It's not like we have had an overabundance of idyllic, pleasant encounters."
[18:58] * Thyan nods at Hamish.
[18:59] <@Kotono> At that a second horse trots over, giving the two a long look, before nodding.
[18:59] * Thyan holds out a hand to the second horse, wanting to give it a chance to come to him and look it over.
[19:00] * Hamish digs into his pocket and pulls out another handful of cracked oats, offering it to the second horse as well.
[19:03] <@Kotono> roll 1d100
[19:03] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d100 and gets 38." [1d100=38]
[19:03] <@Kotono> The rest of the day passes without incident...OOC: Okay, any watch or anything of note tonight?
[19:04] <@Morana> ooc: Morana sleeps like a log.
[19:04] <@Kotono> OOC: Okay then, Miss Loggie.
[19:04] <Aleira> OOC: Aleira does the same.
[19:04] <Iris> OOC: don't think we're really in the habit of it, here
[19:04] <@Kotono> roll 1d100
[19:04] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d100 and gets 93." [1d100=93]
[19:04] <@Kotono> roll 1d100 sub tables
[19:04] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d100 sub tables and gets 74." [1d100=74]
[19:04] <Thyan> OOC: I'd watch.
[19:04] <Hamish> OOC: Thyan has a ring of sustenance. He only needs two hours. He's practically volunteering for watch.
[19:05] <@Kotono> OOC: Make a spot check, Thyan?
[19:05] <Thyan> roll d20+10 Spot
[19:05] * Hatbot --> "Thyan rolls d20+10 Spot and gets 13." [d20=3]
[19:05] <@Kotono> The night passes without incident and the next day begins...
[19:05] <@Kotono> roll 1d100
[19:05] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d100 and gets 98." [1d100=98]
[19:05] <@Kotono> roll 1d100 subtables v 2
[19:05] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d100 subtables v 2 and gets 25." [1d100=25]
[19:06] <@Kotono> OOC: Do any of you have any unusual perception beyond Darkvision, like blindsense or anything like that?
[19:07] <Thyan> OOC: I do not, but I have Darkstalker, so it goes both ways for me.
[19:07] <Iris> OOC: I do not
[19:07] <@Morana> ooc: I can perceive portals! That's unusual! =p
[19:08] <@Morana> ooc: dream shards too!
[19:08] <Fiora> OOC: nope
[19:08] <Hamish> OOC: Not really!
[19:08] <@Kotono> The day passes. Come near dusk, you reach your destination. A circle of white stones lie on the rolling plains of Elysium, occasionally flickering with faintly visible distortions.  Nothing is immediately around.
[19:10] <@Morana> "Ready to move on?" Morana asks the others.
[19:10] <Iris> "A moment, please," Iris says, trying out an unused to spell to examine what appears to be their gateway out of Elysium. (OOC: casting Analyze Portal. This is in the Manual of the Planes for reference, pg 33. Gives me some basic info and lets me get a glimpse of the other side)
[19:11] * Hamish has his cart back in shape,, better-ish than ever. "Ready when everyone else is."
[19:13] <@Kotono> OOC: Okay. Which one are you trying to learn first round?
[19:13] <Iris> OOC: glimpse of the other side first off, see where it looks like we're going
[19:13] <@Kotono> OOC: Roll your CL check.
[19:14] <Iris> roll 1d20+7 whee 50% chance
[19:14] * Hatbot --> "Iris rolls 1d20+7 whee 50% chance and gets 23." [1d20=16]
[19:14] <@Kotono> On the other side, Iris can see the familiar emptiness of the Astral Plane. OOC: 1 round down. Which one next.
[19:15] <Iris> OOC: see if there's any trigger for use?
[19:15] <Iris> roll 1d20+7
[19:15] * Hatbot --> "Iris rolls 1d20+7 and gets 26." [1d20=19]
[19:15] <Iris> "The astral again," Iris observes drily for everyone's benefit.
[19:15] <@Kotono> There are no command words or triggers needed. OOC: 2 rounds down. Note this is distinct from the special circumstances category right below it.
[19:16] <Iris> OOC: indeed, which we will also try and then call it a day
[19:16] <Iris> roll 1d20+7
[19:16] * Hatbot --> "Iris rolls 1d20+7 and gets 8." [1d20=1]
[19:16] * Thyan gets a disgruntled look on his face at this.
[19:16] <@Kotono> OOC: Failure. 3 rounds down. You can try again if you like.
[19:16] <Iris> roll 1d20+7 oh why not
[19:16] * Hatbot --> "Iris rolls 1d20+7 oh why not and gets 14." [1d20=7]
[19:16] <@Kotono> OOC: Failure. 4 rounds down. You can try again if you like.
[19:17] <Iris> roll 1d20+7 oh why not?!
[19:17] * Hatbot --> "Iris rolls 1d20+7 oh why not?! and gets 25." [1d20=18]
[19:17] <@Kotono> The portal only opens when two people kiss.
[19:17] <Iris> "Forgive the indulgence," Iris says, "I consider this good practice, and...oh."
[19:18] <Iris> "I hope it does not have to be particularly intimate," she says, without any context.
[19:18] <Hamish> "What?"
[19:18] * Fiora blinks at Iris, "Um...pardon?"
[19:18] * Thyan raises an eyebrow at this.
[19:19] <Iris> "Well," Iris says carefully, "unless the spell is not functioning properly, I discern that this portal only functions when two individuals kiss."
[19:19] <Thyan> "I might volunteer. Depending on whom the other volunteer is."
[19:19] * Fiora laughs, "Really? It's like a meddling village wife made a portal!"
[19:20] * Thyan grins and twirls his mustache.
[19:20] <Hamish> "Oh." Hamish smoothly slides off the cart, hops over, and plants one on Iris without further ceremony.
[19:21] <Iris> "I volunteer someone other than myself," Iris says heatedly. "I--splfgh!" Iris forcefully shoves Hamish away and rubs a sleeve across her mouth.
[19:21] * Thyan signs dramatically and puts a hand on Morana's shoulder.
[19:21] <@Kotono> "Now," A joyous voice declares, "I declare you husband and wife. Take your first step into your honeymoon. May all the guests celebrate!"
[19:21] <Thyan> "Alas, denied the opportunity of ale and portal, our dalliance must wait."
[19:22] * Fiora nearly doubles over laughing!
[19:22] * Thyan pauses at this.
[19:22] * Thyan looks at Hamish.
[19:22] <Iris> "THERE WILL BE NO HONEYMOON," Iris challenges the mystery voice.
[19:22] * Hamish grins cheerily, clambers quickly back up onto the cart, and urges the horses forward. "C'mon, wifey! You heard the man!"
[19:22] * @Morana snorts, and then glances over at Hamish and Iris. "Don't forget to carry her over the threshold, mister groom."
[19:22] * Thyan starts laughing at both Iris and Hamish.
[19:22] <Fiora> "Congrad..." Fiora says while still laughing, "..ulations...Iris...hehe"
[19:22] <Iris> A furiously red Iris storms on through the portal ahead of all.
[19:23] * Fiora follows into the portal
[19:23] <Thyan> "Ah, not even past the honeymoon and the wife is walking out. Shame."
[19:23] * Thyan jauntily follows after with a grin.
[19:24] <@Kotono> As Iris steps through the portal, church bells are heard ringing from all around. On this note the party advances back to the Astral Plane, leaving behind Elysium! The timelessness of the Astral Plane reasserts itself as the group appears in it, a few more distant peels of church bells before they go silent.
[19:24] <Hamish> "It's not the first time it's happened!" Hamish calls back.
[19:25] <Thyan> "So. Guess we know where that whole soul of the first born thing came from."
[19:25] * Thyan grins at Iris.
[19:25] * Iris steadfastly refuses to talk to anyone and instead focuses on locating their next target.
[19:25] <Fiora> "Oh...I needed that laugh before coming back to this place." Fiora calms down, but does not seem pleased to be back in the endless expanse that is the Astral.
[19:25] <Fiora> "Perhaps we should track down that shard from before?" She suggests.
[19:27] <Hamish> "Yes, let's go find and kill that mindflayer...and stay out of Hades this time."
What if they're not stars at all? What if the night sky is full of titanic far-off lidless eyes, staring in all directions across eternity?
