[17:43] <@Kotono> The foundation work is brief - it's not far until dusk and they're reasonably close to knocking off. After a hearty dinner the party rests. The next morning leads you to meeting with your new patron as everyone else eats a big breakfast. "Good morning," she inclines her head forward, "Did you all rest well?" After a beat for perfunctory answers, "I don't think we properly introduced ourselves
[17:43] <@Kotono> yesterday."
[17:44] <@Porridge> "Porridge Boarhart," the half-elf gestures to himself, including his earned name this time over what he gave yesterday when he introduced himself.
[17:45] <Gildas> "Gildas." He nodded without much else added on.
[17:46] <Feather> "Falling Feather," he follows, grinning. "Go by Feather. Nice place to rest at, if I might say so myself."
[17:49] <@Kotono> "Dame Esona Guldleaf," nodding to each introduction, "Thank you! Riverside will be even nicer when we're done. Now the spiders are a bit south and a lot east. You'll basically want to cross the river, go about a mile south then head east. It's hard to miss the valley." Crossing her arms under her chest and hming, "Our geography expert says it doesn't fit the local terrain, but I assume crystal
[17:49] <@Kotono> spiders means it's not natural in the first place."
[17:50] <@Porridge> "Could just be their leavings," Porridge snorts.
[17:52] <@Kotono> "Could be. Perhaps they eat the ground and leave behind quartz," Dame Esona lightly smiles, "But let's not think like that. It's not important anyway. Since this is an extermination mission, I'd like for you to bring back trophies from each spider you kill. They have antenne, so hacking those off each one you kill should do."
[17:53] <Feather> "Let's go take a look for ourselves," Feather suggests, snorting at her words. "See how many of them are there, and if they work as a group. How smart they are, maybe, or how fast. Then we can go about the hacking."
[17:54] <@Porridge> "Huh. Spiders don't usually have those," Porridge frowns. "Wonder if... yeah, they probably sense vibrations or some shit. Stealth won't do much good, I figure."
[17:54] * Gildas nods.
[17:54] <@Kotono> "Good hunting," Nodding, "There's a ford point just east of town. You should be able to rivercross without any difficulty there."
[17:54] <Gildas> "I have something that may work, we can test it when we arrive."
[17:55] <@Porridge> "Right then," Porridge gets up, "With luck we'll be back in time for dinner."
[18:02] <@Kotono> roll 1d100
[18:02] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d100 and gets 78." [1d100=78]
[18:04] <@Kotono> Thus your trip is without incident. The ground here has been recently traveled by many feet, making your trip easier. Within two hours you come across this valley - it is a rugged and deep tear in the earth, wide and with shallow slopes going down. The entire valley is littered with hunks of white and blue quartz, providing great amounts of cover. There aren't any trees, the canopy breaking
[18:04] <@Kotono> around the middle of the valley. The morning sunshine sparkles in the quartz laying around, which is oddly smooth and bright - albeit with regular cracks and imperfections. You stand near the lip of the valley, an excellent view below. There's no immediate sign of spiders, webs or anything like that.
[18:05] * Feather draws his scimitar all the same. "We just head in to take a look, I reckon?" he voices, starting to descend into the valley.
[18:06] <@Porridge> "Yeah," Porridge nods, whistling for Bubi and getting him to fly overhead watching for any spiders that might not be easily seen from the ground before descending alongside Feather with axe held ready.
[18:07] * Gildas nods to Feather. "I have an Invisibility spell I would like to try if we do come across something and need to take the more... discrete approach."
[18:07] <@Kotono> OOC: Okay y'all, make a spot check for reference here.
[18:07] <@Porridge> roll 1d20+12 Porridge
[18:07] * Hatbot --> "Porridge rolls 1d20+12 Porridge and gets 26." [1d20=14]
[18:07] <@Porridge> roll 1d20+21 Bubi
[18:07] * Hatbot --> "Porridge rolls 1d20+21 Bubi and gets 38." [1d20=17]
[18:08] <Feather> roll 1d20+7
[18:08] * Hatbot --> "Feather rolls 1d20+7 and gets 26." [1d20=19]
[18:08] <Gildas> roll 1d20+10
[18:08] * Hatbot --> "Gildas rolls 1d20+10 and gets 22." [1d20=12]
[18:09] <Feather> "Might not do much good if they got some kinda... tremor sense or something," Feather mutters, looking about. "Guess we'll see soon enough."
[18:10] <Gildas> "It should cover such a scenario... though that is why I want to test it -- and these crystal spiders." He nods to Feather. "We shall have to be careful."
[18:11] <@Kotono> Thus you plunge into the valley! You aren't far in at all when you catch sight of something. It's distorted due to the quartz it hides behind, but it's a spider! It's perhaps 30ft away, the clear quartz transparent enough to be seen through partially. The spider looks like its about to come out.
[18:12] <@Porridge> "Spider, just ahead!" Porridge yells, starting to rush over and try to take it out before it can emerge fully!
[18:12] * Feather pounces at the spider to test its hide with his scimitar!
[18:13] * Gildas will wait to see what happens, just in case.
[18:14] <@Kotono> OOC: Init. It's not surprised since it has extrodinary means of perception as y'all were guessing.
[18:14] <@Kotono> roll 1d20+2
[18:14] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d20+2 and gets 11." [1d20=9]
[18:14] <Feather> roll 1d20+3
[18:14] * Hatbot --> "Feather rolls 1d20+3 and gets 20." [1d20=17]
[18:14] * Kotono changes topic to 'Feather(20)>Crystal Spider(11)'
[18:15] <@Porridge> roll 1d20+1 Porridge
[18:15] * Hatbot --> "Porridge rolls 1d20+1 Porridge and gets 11." [1d20=10]
[18:15] <@Porridge> roll 1d20+4 Bubi
[18:15] * Hatbot --> "Porridge rolls 1d20+4 Bubi and gets 14." [1d20=10]
[18:15] <Gildas> roll 1d20+7
[18:15] * Hatbot --> "Gildas rolls 1d20+7 and gets 9." [1d20=2]
[18:15] * Kotono changes topic to 'Feather(20)>Bubi(14)>Crystal Spider=Porridge(11)>Gildas(9)'
[18:15] <@Kotono> OOC: Go Feather.
[18:15] <Feather> roll 1d20+9
[18:15] * Hatbot --> "Feather rolls 1d20+9 and gets 27." [1d20=18]
[18:15] <@Kotono> OOC: Hit. Is that a crit threat for you?
[18:15] <Feather> OOC: Can I crit it?
[18:15] <@Kotono> OOC: Yes.
[18:16] <Feather> roll 1d20+9 pleasantly surprised!
[18:16] * Hatbot --> "Feather rolls 1d20+9 pleasantly surprised! and gets 13." [1d20=4]
[18:16] <@Kotono> OOC: Normal hit.
[18:16] <Feather> roll 1d6+3+1d6
[18:16] * Hatbot --> "Feather rolls 1d6+3+1d6 and gets 12." [1d6=6][1d6=3]
[18:16] * Feather jumps back and to the side after landing his hit, to clear an approach for Porridge and Gildas!
[18:18] <@Kotono> Feather races ahead and around the quartz! He gets a look at it as he swings - it's the size of a dog. It has a pale white body with white and blue quartz banded throughout it. It's almost pretty as the sunlight strikes it! Twin antenne twitch in the air, seeming to constantly vibrate. Yet that lasts nary a moment as Feather slices into its side! It draws pale white blood, slicing deep into its
[18:18] <@Kotono> side! Its body is surprisingly resistant, harder that it looks to slash open! OOC: Okay. Bubi.
[18:18] <@Porridge> Bubi remains on overwatch.
[18:19] <@Kotono> OOC: Spider and Porridge are up. Go ahead and go first, Porridge, need to bathroom real quic.
[18:20] * @Porridge rushes in to try and widen that slash that Feather dug into the spider, axe coming down heavily on his prey!
[18:20] <@Porridge> roll 1d20+7 -3pa charge
[18:20] * Hatbot --> "Porridge rolls 1d20+7 -3pa charge and gets 23." [1d20=16]
[18:21] <@Porridge> roll 1d12+11
[18:21] * Hatbot --> "Porridge rolls 1d12+11 and gets 16." [1d12=5]
[18:22] <@Kotono> Porridge rushes in and does just that! Its side is torn further open, blood spilling from his axe! He finds it is indeed hard to cut in, an unnatural resistance! But as Porridge slices in the spider pounces forward, fangs dripping clear venom as it goes for Feather!
[18:22] <@Kotono> roll 1d20+6 AC?
[18:22] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d20+6 AC? and gets 22." [1d20=16]
[18:22] <Feather> OOC: 19
[18:23] <@Kotono> roll 1d8+3 and fort
[18:23] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d8+3 and fort and gets 6." [1d8=3]
[18:23] <Feather> roll 1d20+7
[18:23] * Hatbot --> "Feather rolls 1d20+7 and gets 25." [1d20=18]
[18:24] <@Kotono> Pain flares up as Feather's wrist is bitten into! The spider clings on a moment before letting go, landing at the duskblade's feet! The wound burns, above and beyond the pain of two fang punctures in his wrist! OOC: Ow. Okay. Gildas, go.
[18:25] * Gildas waves a hand and is now bear. Gildas-Bear bounds over to the fray and tries to bite into the spider!
[18:25] <Gildas> roll 1d20+7
[18:25] * Hatbot --> "Gildas rolls 1d20+7 and gets 11." [1d20=4]
[18:26] <@Kotono> Gildas rushes in, the spider now surrounded! But he can't manage to bite in the right place! Getting a mouthful of quartz does little but chip Gildas's teeth! OOC: Okay, Faether. Go.
[18:26] <Feather> "Fuck!" Feather exclaims, tossing the scimitar from his right hand to the left before stabbing down with it at the spider. "Feels like poison, it does!"
[18:26] <Feather> roll 1d20+9
[18:26] * Hatbot --> "Feather rolls 1d20+9 and gets 19." [1d20=10]
[18:27] <Feather> roll 1d6+3
[18:27] * Hatbot --> "Feather rolls 1d6+3 and gets 9." [1d6=6]
[18:28] <@Kotono> A stab down impales the back of the creature, more blood bubbling up! It trills loudly, an ear piercing shriek of pain! OOC: Bubi.
[18:28] <@Porridge> Bubi remains our eye in the sky!
[18:28] <@Kotono> OOC: Make a perception check, Bubi.
[18:28] <@Porridge> roll 1d20+21
[18:28] * Hatbot --> "Porridge rolls 1d20+21 and gets 26." [1d20=5]
[18:29] <@Kotono> Bubi can notice spiders starting to stir and rise up from behind or under quartz now. At least a dozen, ranging from close to past the middle of the valley and onto the other side. Meanwhile...OOC: Porridge'n'Spider.
[18:30] <@Kotono> The spider, wounded and surrounded, bites out at its adversaries - this time it chooses Gildas!
[18:30] <@Porridge> Bubi shrieks and buzzes over where the spiders are starting to emerge, tipping off his master to their presence. "Fuck!" he snarls, rushing over to try and kill this one spider to cover their retreat. "We're gonna have to fall back, there's too many of them!"
[18:30] <@Kotono> roll 1d20+6 AC Gildas?
[18:30] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d20+6 AC Gildas? and gets 16." [1d20=10]
[18:30] <@Porridge> roll 1d20+8 -2pa
[18:30] * Hatbot --> "Porridge rolls 1d20+8 -2pa and gets 10." [1d20=2]
[18:31] <Gildas> OOC: 20
[18:31] <@Kotono> Gildas sways out of the way - a giant bear dodging like a kung-fu master, as meanwhile Porridge swings for the heavens and misses completely! OOC: Okayo. Gildas.
[18:32] * Gildas will take a final bite out of the spider before trying to break off and run back the way they came!
[18:32] <Gildas> roll 1d20+7
[18:32] * Hatbot --> "Gildas rolls 1d20+7 and gets 14." [1d20=7]
[18:33] <@Kotono> OOC: You'll provoke an AoO for that since you're attacking and fleeing. Okay with that?
[18:33] <Gildas> OOC: That's fine.
[18:33] <@Kotono> Gildas takes a bite at the spider but only gets hard crystal for his efforts! As he flees the spider bites out at him in return!
[18:33] <@Kotono> roll 1d20+6 AC Gildas?
[18:33] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d20+6 AC Gildas? and gets 13." [1d20=7]
[18:33] <@Kotono> But Gildas is already gone, retreating back! OOC: Feather.
[18:34] * Feather decides to follow Gildas's example, calling out to Porridge, "Coming?" With luck, he can even end this one persistent spider in the course of his retreat.
[18:34] <Feather> roll 1d20+9
[18:34] * Hatbot --> "Feather rolls 1d20+9 and gets 27." [1d20=18]
[18:35] <Feather> roll 1d20+9
[18:35] * Hatbot --> "Feather rolls 1d20+9 and gets 12." [1d20=3]
[18:35] <Feather> roll 1d6+3+1d6
[18:35] * Hatbot --> "Feather rolls 1d6+3+1d6 and gets 7." [1d6=3][1d6=1]
[18:42] <@Kotono> Feather does the same thing! He stabs into it and quickly springs back! Skillfully avoiding a counter, he retreats back with Gildas! OOC: Bubi.
[18:42] <@Porridge> Bubi continues buzzing the other spiders, remaining carefully out of reach.
[18:44] <@Kotono> More are coming up - another half dozen are emerging as the others begin to advance! OOC: Porridge'n'Spider.
[18:44] <@Kotono> As the others fall back, the wounded spider snaps viciously at Porridge!
[18:44] <@Kotono> roll 1d20+6 AC?
[18:44] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d20+6 AC? and gets 24." [1d20=18]
[18:44] * @Porridge takes a parting swing to try and finish off this spider before he too must flee!
[18:44] <@Kotono> roll 1d6+3 and fort
[18:44] <@Porridge> OOC: 17
[18:44] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d6+3 and fort and gets 8." [1d6=5]
[18:44] <@Porridge> roll 1d20+11 fort
[18:44] * Hatbot --> "Porridge rolls 1d20+11 fort and gets 22." [1d20=11]
[18:44] <@Porridge> roll 1d20+8
[18:44] * Hatbot --> "Porridge rolls 1d20+8 and gets 25." [1d20=17]
[18:44] <@Porridge> roll 1d12+5
[18:44] * Hatbot --> "Porridge rolls 1d12+5 and gets 10." [1d12=5]
[18:45] <@Kotono> It happens in one massive clash! Axe bisects the body of the spider as it bites into his arm! Burning pain is Porridge's reward, but the spider's reward is death! OOC: Free act.
[18:45] <@Porridge> Porridge runs before the remaining dozen can get at him, whistling for Bubi as he retreats.
[18:47] * Gildas will continue to bound away, with Porridge and Feather.
[18:48] <Feather> "Any ideas?" Feather calls out to the others, glancing back.
[18:49] * @Porridge shakes his head, looking back to make sure it's safe to slow down. "Gonna need hammers, even sticks. Impact hurts 'em more than cutting. Even then we're fucked if it takes that long to kill just one when there's that much more close by and ready to join in."
[18:50] <Feather> "Could kill them faster, I wager, if they don't like lightning," Feather muses, likewise wondering if they can stop to plan.
[18:50] <@Kotono> The party retreats back into the forest! No sign of the spiders following - you can see they cluster around the fallen spider instead.
[18:51] <@Porridge> Seeing that behaviour, Porridge watches to see, are they eating it?
[18:52] <Feather> They better not doing some pagan ritual to revive it!
[18:53] <Feather> "So how many, in total?" he voices. "I count a dozen, thereabouts."
[18:53] <@Porridge> "Looks like. We should be so lucky if that's all of them."
[18:53] <@Kotono> The spiders slowly cover the fallen spider with webbing. It gleams with crystals, shiny in the sunlight. Four of them then pick it up with their mouths, carrying the entombed spider off. You can count about a dozen there and glimpses of more waiting for them.
[18:54] <Feather> "This is insane," Feather mutters, rubbing the bite mark on his arm. "Don't suppose you could summon beasts to take them on or lure them out?"
[18:55] * @Porridge frowns. "Either they're taking it to the larder... or burying it. If they're smart enough to behave like that I dunno if we should even be killing them."
[18:56] * Gildas returns to his normal form, rubbing his jaw a bit with a frown. "I wonder... If they don't come out of the valley, then I'm not sure there is a problem..."
[18:56] <Feather> "Didn't Red say one of them had?"
[18:57] <@Porridge> "Said it cut up a settler, but I dunno if that was here or not. They knew where the spiders live after all," Porridge muses. "And it got chased off, so they have some sense of self preservation."
[18:58] <Gildas> "If I may." He stands up a bit more straight. "I would like to try an Invisibility spell to determine if the spiders can sense it."
[18:59] <@Porridge> "Go for it. If it works see where they're taking that body?" Porridge asks.
[18:59] * Feather frowns. "If you like. Judging by how that one acted, they can." He shakes his head. "Dunno if it matters if they're golem spiders who understand or not. All that matters is if they leave the valley to attack others, right?"
[19:00] <Gildas> "It will be easy to determine."
[19:00] <@Porridge> "Way I see it if they're dangerous unnatural animals then killing them ain't a problem - except how we can manage, anyway. But if they think and feel... I don't want part of that," he shakes his head uncertainly.
[19:01] <Gildas> With that, he makes another gesture and casts Hide from Animals on himself and then begins the trek back down!
[19:06] <@Kotono> Going back down, Gildas soon comes close to a spider - about 60ft away when the spider suddenly perks up. Its antenne twitch, attention going to Gildas. Its beady black eyes just stare at him, antenne pointing right at him.
[19:10] * Gildas lets out a breath. Some good that magic did. He decides the better part of discretion says to turn and leave, so he backs up slowly and will turn and go back if possible!
[19:11] <@Kotono> The spider watches, but Gildas is able to retreat back without incident, back to his friends.
[19:12] <Gildas> "It would appear they have some sort of magical sight." He announces when he returns. "We could try and communicate with them, but after we attacked the first one, I wonder if we would be given much consideration."
[19:12] <Feather> "Or they hear you walk. Feel it, maybe?"
[19:13] <@Porridge> "It didn't attack you, though," Porridge points out. "I wonder, if we approach and lay down our weapons, or leave them behind... see how they react?"
[19:14] * Feather frowns. "Dunno how to talk to them. Any of you thinking of learning a whole new spider language here?"
[19:15] <Gildas> "I can try, although my... skills with animals have not always been... up to par." He looks at the others. "We can always run away if it goes badly."
[19:15] <@Porridge> "Fuck, I dunno. But if we can at least tolerate each other it shows something, right?"
[19:15] <Feather> "Maybe the folks here can just fence off the valley? And see if the spiders stay within?"
[19:16] <@Porridge> "Pretty sure they can tunnel," Porridge points out. "Listen, it's either this or we figure out a way to kill them all, or we just forget the whole thing and move on. What'll it be?"
[19:17] <Gildas> "I would at least like to parley with them, if we... somehow can. I do not think we should try and kill them."
[19:17] <Feather> "Think we should go back, talk to Red and see all careful-like the way she reacts. If she tricked us, we should just go. If she thinks there's more to it, she might know a way to walk to strange things. How about it?"
[19:17] <Feather> *to talk to
[19:18] <@Porridge> "Sounds good," Porridge nods.
[19:19] <Gildas> "Yes, I agree."
[19:19] * Feather nods. "Right then. No time like the present, I say."
[19:20] <@Kotono> OOC: Going back then?
[19:20] <Feather> OOC: Yep
[19:20] <Gildas> OOC: Yar
[19:22] <@Kotono> roll 1d100
[19:22] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d100 and gets 76." [1d100=76]
[19:24] <@Kotono> The trip back is without incident. Esona is overseeing the people work, shouting away. Her hair tosses about as she goes, her voice powerful, commanding and inspiring. Listening to her almost makes you want to work along with them, "Like that! Yes! Faster, faster faster! The sooner we build the sooner we sleep under a warm roof!" She pauses as the party approaches, "Back so soon?"
[19:26] <Feather> "Hit a bit of a snag," Feather responds. His bloody sleeve should speak for itself.
[19:27] <@Kotono> "Two snags, even," She observes, "Yzer!" Raising her voice, "Break off and go get your kit!" As one of the workers peels off from his task, "Too much to handle for you?"
[19:28] <@Porridge> "Killed one before a dozen more popped up," Porridge says, "Damndest thing, the one we attacked fought back, but the rest seemed more concerned about bundling up the body and taking it away, then Gildas here went closer to test his invisibility spell near another spider it just looked at him. Didn't approach or attack, just looked." Concluding there he shrugs, "Starting to wonder just how simple the spiders really are. What happened to your boy that got slashed up?"
[19:28] <Feather> "Too much's right, perhaps," Feather agrees. "Lots of those there, and they're all tough as nails and go all in a group." At Porridge's explanation, he nods. "Figured we should learn more first. Only made sense."
[19:29] * Gildas stays quiet but nods to what they've said thus far.
[19:30] <@Kotono> "Yzer! Bring over Sean, too!" Shouting that before focusing on the party again, "He'll be along in a minute. You think they're intelligent? Absurd!" Shaking her head with a scowl, "They're overgrown vermin. You don't coddle a spider or sweet talk a cockroach, you squash them instead."
[19:31] <@Porridge> "Maybe things are that simple in Volgard," Porridge allows, "But in the Vastwoods a person's best to keep an open mind."
[19:32] <Feather> "And if not that, this place teaches you to be practical," Feather adds. "Who knows how many of them are there, burrowing. Best see if you can reach accomodations, here. Not like you cared for the cheap quartz, did you?"
[19:34] <@Kotono> "It's cheap but it's not worthless," Crossing her arms, "If the desposits run deep, it could be worth something one day." Sighing and closing her eyes, "
[19:34] <@Kotono> OOC: Gah.
[19:34] <@Kotono> "It's cheap but it's not worthless," Crossing her arms, "If the desposits run deep, it could be worth something one day." Sighing and closing her eyes, "Did they have any weaknesses that you could discern?"
[19:35] * Feather purses his lips. "If they don't got no use for it, chatting the jewel spiders up might get them to mine it for you? No need to risk people or waste time on that."
[19:36] <@Kotono> "Chatting." Her voice is flat as she stares, "Invite them over for tea and cakes and chat with them over mining rights?"
[19:36] <@Porridge> "By elimination I figure you'd need a smashing weapon to properly hurt them, maybe even a magic one. Enchanted steel and cold iron blades both had trouble penetrating. Took all three of us properly laying into just the one to put it down, and it wasn't quick," Porridge tells her.
[19:37] <Gildas> "I would assume it would cost less than humanoid laboring." He added, then nodded to Porridge. "They were quite hardy."
[19:37] * Feather shrugs. "They burrow anyway, should make better miners for those hidden deep deposits."
[19:39] <@Kotono> Esona reaches up and pinches the bridge of her nose, slowly massaging. "Of all the utter absurdities!" she says, as two approach. One is a sandy haired young man, stout in a muscular sort of way. He carries a sack with him. "Who needs medical attention?" With him is an older fellow - closer to 40 or so, walking with a slight limp.
[19:41] <@Porridge> "Look, I dunno about all this shit about mining," Porridge says, presenting his maimed arm, "But I'm not convinced they're ravening monsters out to kill and despoil everything they find. Shouldn't be hard to live and let live."
[19:42] * Feather waits for his turn, paying more attention to the limping man.
[19:43] <@Kotono> Porridge's arm is seen to. It's dabbed with a clear fluid tha tmakes it sting like a bitch, then rinsed out and bandaged. As this happens, "Live and let live." Her voice is completely deadpan now, "A bunch of horrible predators that we now know can likely burrow up right into our village. Not only are they vermin, they're apparently intelligent vermin! By the Gods, how the devil would you even
[19:43] <@Kotono> talk to a spider, if they're so intelligent?"
[19:43] <@Kotono> The limping man has salt and pepper black hair, giving Feather a look back with clear brown eyes. "Yeah?" he asks.
[19:44] <Feather> "You got attacked by them?" Feather asks, getting straight to the chase.
[19:45] * Gildas begins to study the man. Depending on his answers, things may either make more or less sense...
[19:48] <@Porridge> "Same way you'd talk to an orc if neither of you know common. Pantomine, show good intentions, that sort of stuff," Porridge explains, nodding his thanks after being bandaged. "If it doesn't work, fuck it you're back where you started. If it does then you've saved yourself a ton of pain."
[19:49] <@Kotono> "Yeah," He says, "What about it?" OOC: Just for reference, make sense motive, Gildas?
[19:49] <Gildas> OOC: Yes please.
[19:49] <Gildas> roll 1d20+10
[19:49] * Hatbot --> "Gildas rolls 1d20+10 and gets 19." [1d20=9]
[19:50] <Feather> "How did it go by?"
[19:50] <@Kotono> "I'll take it under consideration," Esona finally says, rubbing her temple once more. It evolves into a slow facepalm, before her hand drops away. "Did you try pantomining with them?"
[19:50] <Feather> roll 1d20+8
[19:50] * Hatbot --> "Feather rolls 1d20+8 and gets 25." [1d20=17]
[19:51] <Gildas> "We did not get that far." He answers.
[19:51] <@Porridge> "Figured it best to come back first, find out more about the first attack," he shrugs.
[19:51] <@Kotono> "Badly," He says, "The wounds burned and that webbing cut into me good." A fist goes to thump against his chest, "If I wasn't the toughest son of a bitch around I'd be wormbait now."
[19:51] <@Kotono> OOC: I'll note if he says anything that trips sense motive results. You can assume he sounds truthful otherwise.
[19:52] <Feather> "Where did they come after you?" Feather asks. "How many of them? Who else was with you? What lead to the attack?"
[19:52] <@Kotono> The man starts to speak, but looks into Feather's eyes. He startles, "Shit! Your eyes!"
[19:53] <Feather> "Thanks for the reminder," Feather says sourly. "Just look somewhere else and we're both better off."
[19:54] <@Porridge> "Yeah, that's a little reminder from the last time we leapt straight to killing," Porridge notes sourly. "You think spiders are bad, wait until you meet the fairies."
[19:55] <@Kotono> Dame Esona glances at them and then into Porridge's eyes, but she refrains from comment on them - until that's said. "The Fair Folk?" Her lips twist into a dark smile, "Tell me what happened with them?"
[19:55] <@Kotono> "You have wolf eyes!" He says, "Dog eyes!" He turns away anyway, no longer looking directly at Feather. "That's fucked up."
[19:57] <Feather> "Yeah okay and so does your story!" Feather snaps back. "If they didn't touch Gildas after we killed one of their own, I ain't buying they just jumped you for no reason like that. So what really happened there, man?"
[19:58] * Gildas glances over at Esona and takes a step towards her. "I will explain." Since it seemed the others were engaged at the moment.
[19:58] <@Porridge> "In a minute," Porridge tells her, now interested in Feather's line of enquiry.
[19:59] <@Kotono> OOC: Do you have ranks in intimidate, Feather?
[19:59] <Feather> OOC: Nope
[20:00] <Feather> OOC: But I'm armed and covered in blood~
[20:00] <@Kotono> OOC: Make a cha check then. +2 circumstancial bonus.
[20:00] <Feather> roll 1d20+2
[20:00] * Hatbot --> "Feather rolls 1d20+2 and gets 15." [1d20=13]
[20:01] <@Kotono> "They jumped us?" Blurting that out in confusion and fear, stepping back, "That's not how it happened...?" He glances at Esona, who shoots him a look that roughly equates to 'shut the fuck up'.
[20:02] <Feather> "Fuck this shit," Feather mutters, shaking his head. "S'obvious we were fed bullshit. You wanna keep this great secret? Have at it."
[20:02] <@Porridge> "Yeah, thanks for the food, but we're out," Porridge agrees, done with being used as fodder for these people.
[20:05] <@Kotono> Reddening and with a sour look, "You leave now, you're not getting paid," Esona calls, no small bit of chargrin and fury lacing her voice.
[20:07] <Feather> "Shame, that. But lady, I got my pride. Wouldn't take payment for a job left unfinished anyway." Feather gives her a curt nod. "Be seeing you folk some day."
[20:08] <Gildas> "I implore you to leave the spiders alone." He nods and will begin walking away, letting the matter about the Fair Folk go as well.
[20:08] <@Porridge> "Thanks for patching me up," Porridge waves his bandaged arm at the medic. "You folks take good care not to start anything you might not finish - the woods are full of ghost towns that didn't give them the respect they deserved," he warns those who might be more inclined to listen than a crazy dame as he too heads off.
[20:10] * Feather will just have to treat himself later, when it's time to set up camp. For now, it is time to leave this village behind.
