(6:53) <Kotono> From behind it glides through the sky. A great big dragon! It is a brown-green color, flying from behind to ahead and then swooping down. It is the size of large house, landing with a heavy THUMP in the waters before you. Wings spread out as it roars and then speaks, "What are you doing in this swamp, humanlings?"

(6:58) <Kotono> "You're searching for that ugly thing?" The dragon's voice is a heavy booming sound, "I don't appreciate your kind infesting this swamp and killing the malboros, the swamp imps and everything else for some spirit reject like that. Unless...you can make it worth ignoring you."

(6:59) <Morrie> He raises an eyebrow. Is the dragon really -blackmailing- them...?

(7:08) <Kotono> "Well?" The dragon booms, "WIll you be ignored, or will I notice you and take exception?"
(7:09) <Penelo> "We only want to take Catoblepas out of the swamp and we would be out of your way."
(7:09) <Lehko> "Since you don't like Catoblepas from the sound of it, wouldn't we be doing you a favor anyway

(7:13) <Kotono> The dragon just stares a moment before responding, "Doing ME a favor?"
(7:14) <Penelo> "You do find Catoblepas to be ugly and a reject, no? Would it not be better if it were gone from here?"
(7:15) <Lehko> "Well, yeah. I mean, you don't like Catoblepas, right? Obviously it's below you to get rid of it yourself or Catoblepas would be dead by now. Obviously. Since it's not worth your time, letting us do it for you would be the optimal route, wouldn't it?"

(7:17) <Kotono> "I..." The dragon just stares, "Of course, dealing with a spirit reject like that isn't worth my time," he concedes.

(7:20) <Morrie> "If you know of the location, would you be so willing as to tell us? We could avoid anymore confrontations with the denizens of this swamp." He adds.
(7:20) <Lehko> "Of course it is. Such a thing is as far below you as we are. By doing you the favor of saving your time and dignity from it, could we not consider it payment for allowing us to pass? After all, if we fail, we'll be dead anyway."
(7:20) <Penelo> "And we are sorry for the disturbance we have caused. Our actions have been purely defensive, I swear it."

(7:48) <Lehko> "I think he's going to start with an aerial strike, maybe..."

After a good half hour of hacking, stumbling and working, you come to a sinkhole. Once Lehko sees it, Shiva appears on his shoulder in a whirl of snowflakes, "That's it," she says, "And no dragons or bothersome imps to slaughter."

(8:20) <Lehko> "Mmm.. If someone stays, it should be me. You're smaller and faster, you'll get to the others before I will. I've got Shiva with me incase anything happens."

(8:28) <Mycol> "Well, ordinarily, I'd say you or Jessica. But what would either of you do if the dragon reappeared?"
(8:28) <Penelo> "The dragon blood can stay to guard our possessions, kupo." She giggles. "You have not been exploring with us in some time, Ebenezer."
(8:28) <Morrie> "I can do it." He offers.
(8:29) <Kotono> Jessica hmphs, "I can stay if you want. As long as you bring all the treasure back up."
(8:30) <Lehko> "We'll see if we can't find you something special for staying."
(8:30) * Lehko grins at her.
(8:31) <Morrie> "I really do not mind staying with her, if you'd like." He says as he looks at the others. "But I suppose Jessica can yell if the dragon returns."
(8:32) * Lehko grins at Morrie and mentions 'alone together' time under his breath.
(8:32) <Kotono> With a rumble, Titan appears on Mycol's shoulder. He scratches the back of his head, "Y'know, if Catoplebas wants a fight out of this, we may need all our big guns."

(8:32) <Penelo> "You will be needed, Morrie, if what Titan says is true."
(8:34) <Mycol> "Just don't be eaten, friend"
(8:34) <Morrie> He nods. "Then yell very loudly." He says to Jessica.

(8:35) <Kotono> Thus the party returns to the sinkhole. It extends deep into the earth, hiding what lies within. There's no obvious way in besides falling or climbing.
(8:36) <Morrie> "Allow me a moment." He says, floating over the edge! "I can scout down to see how low it goes."
(8:37) * Lehko raises an eyebrow, but lets him go without protest.
(8:37) <Lehko> "How are the rest of us getting down there?"
(8:37) <Penelo> "I can manage."
(8:37) <Morrie> "That's why you're letting me go first." He responds! "I can probably make stairs." With that, he will float down into the hole!
(8:38) <Kotono> The passage goes down. After going down twenty feet, Morrie finds that a thin mist envelopes everything. The walls are covered in moss and growths as you reach the bottom, eighty feet down. You stand in a central chamber, the walls here being carved and worked. They look old and overgrown. There's a door to the north, east and south, each closed.
(8:39) <Morrie> He raises his eyebrows but holds a hand up, trying to create a staircase that winds down for the others to use!
(8:43) <Kotono> Calling on nature, a staircase of earth and moss rises up for the party! OOC: -5 MP, Morrie.
(8:44) <Penelo> Upon noticing the staircase, she will descend!
(8:45) <Kotono> Soon the party joins Morrie below...OOC: Ball's in your court y'all.
(8:46) <Mycol> "One door is as good as any," Mycol proclaims when he's descended

(9:23) <Kotono> Past the defeated ocho is a hall ahead. In the middle is a sinkhole going further down. Past the sinkhole the passage continues, another door at the far end. This door is made of the smooth metal of the Mysta Empire's ruins, ethereal purple runes glimpsed on it, fading in and out of sight.

(9:25) * Lehko approaches the sinkhole, peering down to see... whatever he can see.
(9:26) <Kotono> The sinkhole goes down perhaps 20ft. You can see a chamber below. It looks in the same style as the ones on this floor. You'd have to go down to see more.

(9:52) <Kotono> But Lehko is fast enough to roll out of the way. The laser angles up and bores through the ceiling, leaving a smooth hole in its wake. It punches through stone like it isn't even there. After that, the door shudders and collapses inward, parts of it dissolving into rust flakes.

(9:54) <Kotono> The door crumbles before you. Within is row after row of smooth metal treasure chests. They sit there, one after another. There must be about thirty of them total! On the left wall are several pods made of glass, big enough to hold a person within.

(9:55) <Mycol> "I think Jessica might have passed out if she saw this."
(9:55) <Lehko> "... It can't be what it looks like. There has to be a trap or trick...."

(9:56) <Kotono> "There may not be," Titan appears on Mycol's shoulder. "Catoplebas hoards treasures, remember." He stretches at this, "Man, I'm sorry I wasn't paying more attention before, but it's so much fun to chase that imp around!"

(10:04) <Kotono> The pods are technological and magic based, woven together. They channel healing magic through the pod to heal whomever is within. You could theoretically extract them and use them elsewhere, but you'd need a tremendous amount of power to get them going.

(10:04) <Lehko> "Hmm... They're healing pods, it seems. It looks like we can remove them, but they need a huge power input... Like the engine."

(10:06) <Morrie> "I don't see why it wouldn't be." He says, then finally goes to open the first of the chests.

(10:08) <Mycol> "These have stood the test of time fairly admirably."
(10:09) <Morrie> "They have." He nods. Here, Lehko." He tosses him two of the Potions to heal his wounded hand.

(10:14) <Morrie> "A moment." He says again, before departing for the wagon! He will deposit the Potions there as well as the status-curing items before returning.
