<Kotono> The poltergeist before you is nothing more than ectoplasm now, a thin rime of it on the floor of the tunnel. For the moment, the party is safe. OOC: Free act.
<Veren> "That was... informative. With preparation, I believe we can fight those effectively."
<Nephrite> "Good job, everyone!" Moore calls out as he continues to strum on his Lyre.
<Lucy> Her wings seamlessly retreat into her back and Lucy peers down the tunnel to see how far it goes by now.
* Veren holds up a dagger and looks at it with a frown.
* Nephrite is now known as Moore
<Pepo> 'Do the poltergeists regenerate or is there a finite number?' Pepo's telepathic voice booms at Bash.
* Lucy sheathes her own daggers anew after snatching them out of the air.
<Kotono> It's about 20ft down, as seen before. It needs more time to go further.
<Kotono> Bash shrugs, "Hell if I know," he admits, "They usually don't bother us after killing one, but we don't go back to trying to go down, either."
<Lucy> "If one appears each twenty feet, it shouldn't be too difficult to reach our desired depth," Lucy muses. "And certainly easier if there is a scroll of Mage Armor available."
<Veren > "There are magic shops here, yes? I think it best if we... go shopping, a bit."
<Kotono> Meanwhile Bash rubs his head, "And leave him alone while he strums that lyre of his?" Glancing at Moore and then at Pepo, "And am I going crazier, or did that cat just talk in my head?"
<Lucy> "Oh, I can certainly keep an eye on things."
<Pepo> Pepo meows and looks up at him, a cute sound at odds with his deep mental voice.
<Veren > "I will need either new blades, or a way to make these effective."
<Kotono> "Eyes on you, cat," Bash mutters in reply. OOC: Okay, so what's the plan now

<Veren > OOC: Not really sure, but I know Lucy wants a mage armor scroll, I need some way to deal damage, and Pepo needs to rest for PP, right?
<Lucy> OOC: I intend to guard Moore and see what happens. If Veren goes shopping or to ask Kamhoff, I'd appreciate a scroll of MA.
<Pepo> OOC: I can fight 4 more poltergeists before I'm done, so I can guard Moore for a while
<Kotono> OOC: Okay then. Are you staying or going to get things, Veren?
<Veren > OOC: It looks like it's just me going, so I guess so.
<Veren > OOC: Are we pooling funds for this? Do we want to start tracking as a single pool?
<Lucy> OOC: I'd prefer not to. I'll give you 25gp.
<Veren > OOC: Okay, well, I have 1791 gold, so I guess I'll pick up some scrolls of magic weapon, too. Anyone else want anything?

<Lucy> Meanwhile, Lucy decides to take the watch a bit more seriously and places a clairaudience sensor at the edge of the tunnel, intending to keep on moving it further down as the tunnel itself grows.

<Kotono> Soon Veren leaves, off to find proper weapons and scrolls. Meanwhile Moore continues to play - it's now 30ft down. You can notice a few things - near the bottom the rocks of the tunnel begin to glow. Not blindingly bright, but as if the light itself seeps into them. As you study that, there is a silent howl in all your minds, echoing twice in Lucy's through the clairaudience. She can also hear
<Kotono> faint murmurs of noise through it, indistinct and not heard otherwise or by others. Emerging from the light, 30ft down the tunnel, is a large sphere of ectoplasm. It howls and vibrates, a dull green color. OOC: Lucy, make a quick int check.

<Kotono> There's something about that murmur - but Lucy doesn't have time, as the air all around the party begins to vibrate. OOC: Init here.

<Kotono> "I haven't seen one like this before!" Bash calls, "Watch your damned head-" Whatever he says is cut off, as a massive gust of wind blows everyone back. Blades, razors and knives of green ectoplasm come in the wake of this wind, slicing over the party. OOC: Reflex saves, all. Remember to note if you have evasion.

<Kotono> The blades slice a grim path through the party. All around are scored, sliced and stabbed. The ground is littered with green ectoplasm weapons, as if thrust there. The walls are chipped and several weapons are stuck in it. All of you can hear a murmuring now, constantly in your ears. OOC: Int checks all but Lucy.

<Kotono> Pepo can make out something in the murmurs. It's one voice arguing itself over and over. It comes from all the places the ectoplasm is, as if connected as part of a greater whole. OOC: Moore.

<Kotono> Missiles pepper the sphere. It shakes all over, as do the swords all around. But otherwise it doesn't react at all. OOC: Okay. Bash. He'll hold a second. Pepo, go.

<Kotono> The creature here is one mind, divided into many parts. It enables it to control all the swords as if they were part of its own body. Conversely, it means the swords can be hurt and it injures the poltergeist, too. It's one big mental connection.
<Pepo> 'The ectoplasmic weapons are still part of its body and may be damaged to injure it,' Pepo informs the others, setting to this in the most expedient manner he can by creating a wall of lightning that runs straight down the middle of the stairway, cutting through the main blob and several weapons while blasting weaker electric sparks at the ones littered on one side,

<Kotono> Lightning crackles through the ectoplasm orb and weapons. Several of them wobble wildly from voltage, which makes the others all around wobble. They seem completely out of control! OOC: Bash is defending himself since he's out of productive options. Orb is up.
<Kotono> Wild and half crazed, the weapons fly around in erratic and uncontrolled paths! OOC: Ref saves all, +2 bonus since the orb's control is in shit city. Plus you count as having evasion.

<Kotono> OOC: Lucy. Go, I'll be a sec since dog.
<Lucy> Lucy's hand reaches for the handle of her axe of its own accord, but rather than charge into melee she rears back and tosses the magical weapon through the floating weapons and all the way at the blob! And then the whirling axe impacts against the wall of the tunnel and heads right back through the opposition, all the way to Lucy where she easily manages to catch it by the handle!

<Kotono> The thrown axe cleaves through the shocked sphere, bisecting it. It falls into two broken halves, reduced to gummy ectoplasm. The weapons crumble in form as well, becoming little more than stains. OOC: Free act.
<Lucy> "Well, wasn't this exciting?"
<Kotono> Bash holds his shoulder, stemming blood from a gash there. "Exciting as nearly dying is. Shit!"
<Pepo> Pepo keeps his wall up for now, in case any more monsters come at them.
<Lucy> "Haven't you said you never saw this before? New knowledge, appearing before your very eyes!"
<Moore> "Once I'm done with this, I can take care of the injuries." Moore says as he focuses on playing.
This is not the greatest post in the world, no... this is just a tribute.
