Thanks guys.

It was an odd one.  Company was throwing a big party for the team I'm on, so there was lots of stuff I don't drink and cheering, followed by a party van, a fancy restaurant and a scavenger hunt through san francisco.

Fun was had.  Gold bricks were also had.  I don't really know what one does with such a thing.

It may just be gold plated.  It's not like I took it to the shop to check.  But it seems so.

Then it's probably fake.  Or just plated.  :)  Checking the prices, I can't really see the office spending quite that much on an engraved doodad.  Either way it's effectively just a trophy in brick form.
