Session Start: Thu Feb 12 11:54:37 2015
Session Ident: #dunes
* Now talking in #dunes
* Topic is 'Pepo=Lucy(11)>Pepo that is not Pepo(9) '
* Set by Kotono on Wed Feb 11 14:49:57
<Kotono> <Lucy> It's all Lucy needs to hear! A beat of her wings sends her flying up, while their afterimages assault the area below and in the direction of Pepo's mental voice. She tries to angle them to miss him while coming as close as she can, but at this point it would be a matter of luck.
<Kotono> <Pepo> roll 1d20+18 concentration DC 20 + level (in this case 1, so DC 21)
<Kotono> <Serith> Pepo roll for Serith < 29 > [d20=11]
<Kotono> <Pepo> roll 1d20+15-4 fighting defensively, anarchic grace gives 20% miss chance, augmented 9pp
<Kotono> <Serith> Pepo roll for Serith < 12 > [d20=1]
<Kotono> <Pepo> OOC: 4 rounds on anarchic grace, dazed one round at the end of it
<Kotono> <Lucy> roll 10d6 wings of flurry, force, ref DC25 for half and to avoid daze
<Kotono> <Serith> Lucy roll for Serith < 28 > [d6=5,2,3,4,1,1,2,1,3,6]
<Kotono> <Pepo> OOC: I'm on Lucy herself, so that may affect targeting. Like her shoulder or somewhere. Unless the chain just yanks me down when she flies up.
<Kotono> Great bursts of power explode below the blinded Lucy. Chains shatter as they fly up. OOC: Okay, free act for the moment, you two.
<Pepo> roll 1d100 wild surge, true seeing extended
<Serith> Pepo roll for Serith < 16 > 12 [d100=16]
<Pepo> 'I will be briefly incapacitated in a few seconds,' Pepo warns Lucy as he scans for further threats from below.
<Kotono> Nothing right now - save for the ship slowly sinking into the harbor.
<Lucy> "I'll fly towards land," Lucy responds, quelling her unease. "Can you direct me?"
<Pepo> 'Yes,' Pepo says, giving her simple directions on the order of left/right and forward/stop until they reach solid ground.
<Kotono> Thus the two reach solid ground. Lucy is still blind, but the empty, silent docks are safe. The only sound at all is the sound of the ship slowly sinking into the harbor as you watch.
<Pepo> 'Where is everyone?' Pepo wonders, looking around. Was it this quiet earlier? Surely the destruction of a skimmer in port would draw a crowd?
<Lucy> 'Jetina!' Lucy tries again, reaching out with her mind into the general area of the sinking ship. 'Kamhoff! Bolethon! Dog! Answer me!'
<Lucy> As she waits for an answer, she summons a pair of zombie wyverns directly above the ship, and orders them to join in the search while remaining in telepathic control of the undead.
<Kotono> No reply. Lucy summons the wyverns as they begin to head below. OOC: More in here in a sec, let me let #terror catch up. You're just a tad ahead of them.
* Lucy summons another pair at that, in case the chain-wielders come out after them again.
<Kotono> Meanwhile, the party below hurries updeck. Just as the wyverns swoop down, the party emerges from below decks. All the party, even Little, follows. But as they do, the entire ship shakes violently, the light below shining even brighter.
<Pepo> Pepo does his best to damp that light!
<Pepo> OOC: control light, -100% 42 ten foot cubes
* Veren continues to heft the unconscious old man and hurry off the ship as fast as he can!
<Veren > "Go! Go! Off the ship!"
<Kotono> OOC: Manifester level check, Pepo.
<Kotono> "Aaaaah! BAD OPPRESSION!" Little howls, speeding towards the shore as fast as his wings can carry him.
<Pepo> roll 1d20+10
<Serith> Pepo roll for Serith < 14 > 12 [d20=4]
<Lucy> "The wyverns are on your side!" Lucy calls out upon hearing Veren, commanding the undead mentally to swoop down and snatch anyone needing help.
<Kotono> It's a panicked hustle. The party, wyvern aided and flight enabled, manages to clear the ship. It's mere seconds before a massive column of light erupts out, utterly vaporizing the ship. The column of light extends high into the sky, no end in sight to it. It makes everything glow even brighter, casting light farther inland than you can see.
<Moore> Moore tries to see if there's anything magical about this column at all!
<Kotono> Jetina falls to a knee, huffing and puffing.
* Veren sets Kamhoff down for Moore to deal with and turns back, drawing his dagger. Just in case.
<Kotono> OOC: Spellcraft, Moore.
<Moore> roll 1d20+14
<Serith> Moore roll for Serith < 31 > 12 [d20=17]
<Kotono> There's some incredibly potent effect here, but it's-ugh! OOC: Fortitude saves, all.
<Pepo> roll 1d20+10
<Serith> Pepo roll for Serith < 24 > 12 [d20=14]
<Kotono> roll 1d20+15 Jetina
<Serith> Kotono roll for Serith < 19 > 12 [d20=4]
<Moore> roll 1d20+6
<Serith> Moore roll for Serith < 20 > 12 [d20=14]
<Lucy> roll 1d20+7
<Serith> Lucy roll for Serith < 25 > 12 [d20=18]
<Kotono> roll 1d20+6 Kamhoff
<Serith> Kotono roll for Serith < 18 > 12 [d20=12]
<Kotono> roll 1d20+5 Little
<Serith> Kotono roll for Serith < 20 > 12 [d20=15]
<Kotono> roll 1d20+13 Macaron
<Serith> Kotono roll for Serith < 21 > 12 [d20=8]
<Veren > roll 1d20+6+5 Fort/Inspiration
<Serith> Veren roll for Serith < 22 > 12 [d20=11]
<Kotono> roll 1d4
<Serith> Kotono roll for Serith < 2 > 12 [d4=2]
* Lucy manifests a beacon above her head to try and look through it, her paranoia increasing anew.
<Kotono> Then there is nothing, nothing but darkness absolute for all. OOC: More. Moore in here, Veren in #evildunes, Pepo in #terrorofdunes and Lucy in #sonofdunes.
<Kotono> ----
<Kotono> Moore's...head hurts. He's awakening from a long dream, a phantasm of...something. All he knows is that his head is throbbing. He's lying on something hard, cold and utterly uncomfortable.
<Moore> Moore lets out a groan as he reaches up to rub at his head. First he checks to make sure all his faculties are there -- hands, feet, wings, sight, smell... that sort of thing.
<Kotono> OOC: Darkvision or low-light vision, Moore?
<Moore> OOC: Low-light.
<Kotono> Everything is. Moore sits in a cold, dank cave. He lies in a little cubbyholed dead end. Only his low-light vision lets him see at all.
<Moore> "What in the world...?" Moore casts a detect magic to see if there's anything magical around him. It may not be much, but it's a start.
<Kotono> There's no magic, save for Moore's own possessions.
<Moore> "Well, nowhere to go but forward, I suppose..." Moore shakily pulls himself up and starts to slowly fly forward.
<Kotono> You fly forward for a few minutes before you can begin to hear the sound of crashing water. Moore's naturally in tune enough to know the sound of a waterfall when he hears it.
<Moore> Moore will follow the sound of the water! If there's a waterfall, then that means that there's both an entrance and an exit! ...In theory!
<Kotono> Moore follows the water. IT soon leads to a natural underground lake. A waterfall cascades down from the ceiling, a massive torrent of water pouring into the lake. Despite that, the lake's borders seem steady. On the far end of the lake, one can see a stairway winding upwards.
<Moore> Moore takes in as deep a breath as he can and shouts! "Hello!? Can anyone hear me?! Miss Lucy!? Mister Pepo!? Veren!? Jetina?!"
<Kotono> The only reply is Moore's echoes. Not even a bad stirs from the sound.
<Moore> roll 1d20+14 K:N if that sort of thing is normal? Does that signify anything, perhaps?
<Serith> Moore roll for Serith < 27 > 12 [d20=13]
<Kotono> It's unusual. Caves have life, after all. But it's awfully quiet around here. For that matter, the shape of the waterfall's wrong. It shouldn't just plunge down like that. Erosion would change the shape of it in due time. It's not a natural waterfall at all. More like a drain at the bottom of a tub, to let out water from above.
<Moore> Moore makes a face. "So we've been brought here by something. Great..." Moore will instead of going to the stairs see if he can fly up the waterfall to follow it.
<Kotono> Crossing the lake is uneventful. The stairs wind up to another level, looks like.
<Moore> Moore will fly up to the ceiling where the water is coming from to look if he can spy anything at all.
<Kotono> No good. The rushing water fills up every inch. It's moving too fast to be remotely transparent, all frothy and worked up.
<Moore> He casts another Detect Magic on the water itself before he will fly over to the stairs if he didn't find anything.
<Kotono> OOC: CL check.
<Moore> roll 1d20+10
<Serith> Moore roll for Serith < 22 > 12 [d20=12]
<Kotono> With a shudder, the water flow vanishes. Ahead is an empty tunnel going straight up as far as Moore can see.
<Moore> Moore blinks. Then blinks again. "I... what?" Either way, he will fly up, but be ready for the water to return...
<Kotono> Moore flies up, up and higher up yet. Eventually, it stops. No sign of a bigger water source. Instead, the ceiling curves up to a dead end, save for a single jail door blocking the way ahead. In between the jail door's bars is a pulsing, velvet-black darkness that prevents you from seeing within.
<Moore> "...-What-?" Moore says aloud. Against his better judgment, he flies over to the door to see if it has a keyhole of some nature.
<Kotono> There's no keyhole visible.
<Moore> Moore once again casts Detect Magic, or uses the one he had used previously if it's still there to investigate this bizarre blockade.
<Kotono> OOC: Spellcraft.
<Moore> roll 1d20+14
<Serith> Moore roll for Serith < 26 > 12 [d20=12]
<Kotono> The barrier is an absolute barrier. Nothing comes in and out of it. It can be opened by...a key, though Moore can't discern what sort of key.
<Moore> Well, it isn't like he's in much of a hurry, so Moore will attempt to use Identify to see if that will tell him exactly how to open the door. OOC: Identify is an hour-long cast, but I'm not sure if you can determine if it works before that.
<Kotono> OOC: Link me to the SRD entry for it real quick?
<Moore> OOC: http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/identify.htm
<Kotono> OOC: Do you have the expensive component for it?
<Moore> OOC: Hah, no, I don't. Nevermind then.
<Moore> "Uhh... open? Please?" Moore decides to try on the door. Maybe the key is being nice! He also just tries touching it.
<Kotono> The door is touched. It feels cold to the touch but nothing else happens.
<Moore> Moore makes a face. He flies back a bit and takes a breath, then tries to Shout the door apart! You never know!
<Kotono> OOC: 5d6 sonic, right?
<Moore> OOC: Yes.
<Moore> OOC: Brittle or crystalline things more.
<Kotono> OOC: Roll it.
<Moore> roll 5d6 SHOUT!
<Serith> Moore roll for Serith < 19 > 12 [d6=1,5,3,6,4]
<Kotono> The door before you crumbles. Ahead is a storage room. Dozens and dozens of Moores like there, stacked up like kindling. Empty eyed and blank, missing something, as if dolls after doll of Moore was made and stored here.
<Moore> "Absolute my left wing..." Moore says with a huff. He frowns at all of the... clones? He reaches out to touch one.
<Kotono> It feels like flesh, even to the point of being warm. Like another person.
<Moore> "None of this makes any sense..." Moore sighs and goes to explore the rest of this bizarre room.

This is not the greatest post in the world, no... this is just a tribute.
