Session Start: Wed Mar 11 12:14:07 2015
Session Ident: #dunes
* Now talking in #dunes
* Topic is 'Little(32)>Jetina(27)>Sharm(24)Veren(23)>Moore(19)>Lucy(15)>Ghost(12)>Macaron '
* Set by Kotono on Wed Mar 04 12:37:08
<Koaway> ----
<Koaway> OOC: Go ahead and set up your plan, y'all, since ball's in your court.
<Sharm> "Hey, just had a thought," Sharm says, having moved a bit down the side of the hill away from the farm, "If everyone puts some of their gold in here," she holds up her bag of holding, "And one of Jetina's bodyguards drops it in the fight, it'll give the bandits a nice payday, make my case easier. We'll get it all back anyway."
* Veren shrugs and offers up 1000 gold.
<Koaway> OOC: Post in loot if you're contributing any.
<Lucy> "I don't mind," Lucy agrees, although all she can part with is a hundred.
<Sharm> Sharm holds it open for anyone else who wants to volunteer.
<Koaway> Jetina shakes her head, "I got wiped out in the ship sinking."
<Moore> Moore donates 100 as well.
<Sharm> "'bout two and a half thousand there..." she figures when all's said and done, handing the bag off to Veren. "Make sure you remember to drop it when you run away."
* Veren nods and shuffles it away.
<Sharm> "Okay... last thing for me I guess, what's so special about Jetina?" she asks. "I mean, sure she's great but what's her noble title, who'd pay a lot of money for her, that kind of stuff?"
<Lucy> "I would! Why not use that?"
<Koaway> "Lady Jetina Jerara of Falbard," Jetina gently interjects, "I don't have an official title, but of House Jerara's accurate." Meanwhile Lucy gets a glance from Jetina but no comment.
<Sharm> "Alright, we'll go with that," Sharm says before snickering. "Just remember that if you're ever on hard times, Jetina. Now get going you lot, I'll wait a bit then go make nice with the bandits."
<Veren > "She also helped save the city."
<Veren > "And has ties to Aria, who is of renown, yes?"
<Lucy> "That's just silly, no one would mess with Miss Aria or a renowned hero. Also, the latter would not be easily captured."
<Sharm> "Was hoping for people that are rich and ineffectual, not badass wizards that'll have you being charmed and magic missiled for a few years, yeah."
<Koaway> "That would be for the best," Jetina smoothes over her dress one more time, "Are we ready?"
* Lucy draws her massive sword and adjusts for the weight. "Ready!"
<Sharm> "Yeah, go on," Sharm says, figuring she can wait half an hour for them to make some headway before she approaches the farm.
<Koaway> OOC: I'll deal with Sharm in here for now.  The others in #evil in case anything happens in your preptime.
<Koaway> The farm is as you saw it. It's quiet - there's a few people working, but not many right now. The sort of thing you'd expect - farm work stuff.
<Sharm> Having waited a little while, Sharm crests the hill and starts heading down towards the farm with her arms at her sides and her posture low, the sort of gait where one hopes for peace but expects an arrow.
<Kotono> Sharm soon gets looks from the field hands. They're normal enough - but Sharm can see one slip into the farmhouse. As she comes on downhill, a burly human with burnt pink skin calls, "Looking for something, traveler?"
<Sharm> "Maybe," she says guardedly, glancing back to check Little's still with her. "You with Eryn?" she asks with a sort of affected casualness.
<Kotono> Little's flying along, all quiet for now. "Eryn? Those bandits? Hell no," The man scowls and raises his hoe, "You'd best get yourself outta here!"
<Sharm> "Really? Good," Sharm says, seeming to take him at face value. "Better be careful, there's some rich pickings in the area that might draw them your way. Best watch yourself," she nods her head and turns to head over towards the road.
<Kotono> Little glowers at the threatening man, but follows Sharm's lead. In the meantime, the field hands watch Sharm go towards the road.
<Sharm> She doesn't turn back to look, acting as if the farm holds no more interest to her as she heads off. Once on the road she'll turn back down towards the town everyone else headed towards, only going a hundred yards or so down before finding a handy fencepost or rock or tree stump to lean against.
<Kotono> OOC: Going to wait for them, then?
<Sharm> OOC: I'll wait like twenty minutes before heading a couple miles down the road and finding a good ambush spot. If they don't want to share the spoils that's fine with me!
<Kotono> OOC: Okay.
<Sharm> OOC: I'll stealth at said ambush spot if/when it comes to that, naturally.
<Kotono> OOC: Okay, make a quick stealth check for reference.
<Sharm> roll 1d20+13
<Serith> Sharm roll for Serith < 16 > 12 [d20=3]
<Kotono> Soon enough, the party comes down the road, just as Sharm hoped they would. OOC: Go ahead. This is your act to sell, y'all.
<Lucy> "Nice when the travels take you away from the damned Light, innit?" Lucy asks her fellow guard, nudging his shoulder playfully.
<Sharm> "Get ready to throw some spines or fire when I call for archers, okay?" Sharm asks Little before she steps casually out onto the path with her sword raised over her shoulders. "A fine day for a stroll, your ladyship?" she enquires in that well practiced affableness that reasonable highwaymen tend to show before things turn unpleasant.
<Kotono> Little murmurs agreement, on the ready.
<Kotono> Jetina stops and looks, "And who are you?" Jetina demands with a twist of her lips, voice all chilled disdain.
* Veren halts, a blade quickly finding its way to his hand as his eyes scan for additional possible ambushers, looking like a boulder of muscle with limbs.
<Lucy> Looking as self-assured as any bodyguard that has the strength of numbers, Lucy raises an eyebrow at Sharm.
<Veren > "What's someone like you doin' out here?"
<Sharm> "Such a harsh tone!" Sharm gasps mockingly. "Why, me and my little band are simple men and women all, out to earn an honest coin. And from what I heard your dwarf friend bragging a few villages ago, that bag of yours must be laden with it."
* Veren snorts.
<Moore> Moore looks around, as if he were looking for other bandits, since events like this usually don't involve just one person...
<Veren > "I doubt it, girly. Aye, you got some muscle on you, and a few scars, but take your 'little band' back up to Eggler's Cove and live long enough to be useful."
<Kotono> "It's none of your business, hooligan," Jetina frowns, waving a hand, "Scurry away now."
<Sharm> "Everybody always wants to be a hero..." she shakes her head sadly. "I've got six men with arrows on you just waiting for my word, so lets make this easy, eh? Drop the bag and you two can go back home and share a drink and forget all this. Her ladyship Jerara will be well looked after."
* Veren eyes the orc-girl with a squint, trying to judge if she's telling the truth.
* Lucy looks less certain, and steps closers to Jetina.
<Veren > "You think your shitty little pin-prick arrows'll stop me from rippin' your guts out? A laugh is what that's worth. Move on and live, or come and die, girl."
<Kotono> "Hmph," Jetina looks unconcerned, only haughty and annoyed. Her face is set in a disdainful scowl now, locked in it. She looks on with a high backed, unfliching gaze that meets Sharm's eyes. "It sounds like a lot of wind and bravado, thief."
<Sharm> "Your funeral, 'hero'," Sharm mocks. "Archers, stick that orc if he makes a move, I'll take care of this one!" she grins ferally before rushing Veren!
<Moore> Moore does take an actual, real look around to see if there's anyone else looking in or moving in on their location.
* Veren charges right back at Sharm, like a rolling avalanche of stubby muscle and blades.
<Sharm> roll 1d20+0 (i assume I'm not getting Moore's aura right now)
<Serith> Sharm roll for Serith < 5 > 12 [d20=5]
<Lucy> "He?!" Lucy exclaims, so offended now she no longer seems worried.
<Kotono> OOC: Perception, Moore.
<Moore> roll 1d20+14
<Serith> Moore roll for Serith < 22 > 12 [d20=8]
<Kotono> Back behind a nearby hill, Moore thinks he catches sight of something. Someone dressed in leathers and cloth, but only a bare glimpse before he slips behind the hill completely.
<Kotono> OOC: Are you two fighting for real or just faking it?
<Sharm> OOC: for real, I need to trigger my fear effects, also blood helps sell it.
> OOC: Yeah. We can do a bluff on a knock out or kill or whatever.
<Kotono> OOC: That's obviously a big old miss.
<Sharm> OOC: that was init
<Kotono> OOC: Oh wow, I'm during.
<Kotono> OOC: Roll init, everyone.
<Moore> roll 1d20+4+8
> roll 1d20+4+8 Init/Moore Bonus
<Serith> Moore roll for Serith < 25 > 12 [d20=13]
<Serith> Veren roll for Serith < 28 > 12 [d20=16]
<Kotono> roll 1d20+12 Jetina
<Serith> Kotono roll for Serith < 21 > 12 [d20=9]
<Lucy> roll 1d20+12
<Serith> Lucy roll for Serith < 23 > 12 [d20=11]
<Kotono> OOC: Little will just go after Sharm, since he's waiting on her and she rolled a 5 anyway.
* Kotono changes topic to 'Veren(28)<Moore(25)>Lucy(23)>Jetina(21)>Sharm(5)>Little(Miko) '
<Kotono> OOC: Go ahead, Veren.
<Veren > roll 1d20+14 ATK 1
<Serith> Veren roll for Serith < 16 > 12 [d20=2]
<Veren > roll 1d20+9 ATK 2
<Serith> Veren roll for Serith < 21 > 12 [d20=12]
<Sharm> OOC: you can't get two attacks. AC 21.
<Kotono> Veren takes a few stabs, but Sharm is sufficiently quick to parry them away. OOC: Okay, Moore.
<Moore> Moore whispers quietly to Lucy. "We've already got at least one pair of eyes."
<Moore> He takes no other actions but looks simply -aghast- at what's going on. OOC: I'm done.
<Kotono> OOC: Lucy.
<Lucy> "Quit fucking around with her and stab her, you fool!" Lucy calls out to the disguised Veren, keeping Jetina covered while a hand hovers by the hilt of her great sword.
<Lucy> roll 1d20+23 perception, anyone here?
<Serith> Lucy roll for Serith < 25 > 12 [d20=2]
<Kotono> Lucy catches a glimpse of something by a nearby hill - just a tiny little bit of something that's maybe peeking out from atop it.
<Lucy> 'We might have drawn some interest,' Lucy's voice sounds in Sharm's, Veren's, Moore's and Jetina's heads.
<Kotono> OOC: okay. Jetina's up, she's holding, will describe it. Sharm.
<Kotono> Jetina stays behind Lucy, "You stupid cow!" Jetina declares, "You're going to get yourself killed for your greed!"
<Sharm> Using a tricky sword move, Sharm swings for Veren's legs in a sweeping chop but abruptly changes the angle so it crashes up towards the muscly dwarf's ribs!
<Sharm> OOC: using corsair's feint to feint as a free action, will use rapid intimidate afterwards, and bloody blade will trigger if it hits and Veren is feinted.
<Sharm> roll 1d20+20 bluff first
<Serith> Sharm roll for Serith < 39 > 12 [d20=19]
<Sharm> roll 1d20+17 hit vs flat footed, don't think Veren can beat that
<Serith> Sharm roll for Serith < 26 > 12 [d20=9]
<Veren > OOC: What's the opposition? Sense Motive?
<Sharm> OOC: yeah
<Veren > roll 1d20+13 need a 20
<Serith> Veren roll for Serith < 18 > 12 [d20=5]
<Sharm> OOC: flat footed AC?
<Veren > OOC: 26.
<Sharm> roll 2d6+11+2d6 DC 19 will vs bloody blade
<Serith> Sharm roll for Serith < 27 > 12 [d6=5,5,1,5]
<Veren > roll 1d20+8 Will
<Serith> Veren roll for Serith < 10 > 12 [d20=2]
<Sharm> roll 1d20+20 intimidate, roll your level + wis against this, if you lose you're shaken. Bloody blade makes you shaken as well, so you're frightened at that point.
<Serith> Sharm roll for Serith < 35 > 12 [d20=15]
<Veren > roll 1d20+8+10
<Serith> Veren roll for Serith < 37 > 12 [d20=19]
<Kotono> The blow lands! Veren gets a bloody wound on the legs, hacked open by the quick feint. "Careful!" Jetina cries out at that, as...OOC: Little's holding as requested. Veren, you're up.
<Sharm> The wound cuts a great gash out of Veren's flank, drawing a shower of blood that coats Sharm's blade. Far far too much blood... is that bone? It is without a doubt the most grisly wound Veren has ever seen! "Run and live or fight and die, hero!" Sharm laughs a terrible sadistic laugh, a vile bare-toothed grin on her face as she revels in this bloodshed. OOC: you're only shaken, but you can play
<Sharm> it up! Also Lucy/Jetina/Moore need to roll will against bloody blade too.
* Veren tries to return the damage back to the orc!
<Sharm> OOC: bloody blade lasts 2 rounds, for reference.
<Kotono> OOC: Will then, you three.
<Kotono> OOC: Er, two.
<Veren > roll 1d20+20-2 Bluff/Feint
<Serith> Veren roll for Serith < 36 > 12 [d20=18]
<Kotono> roll 1d20+14 Jetina
<Serith> Kotono roll for Serith < 20 > 12 [d20=6]
<Moore> roll 1d20+9
<Serith> Moore roll for Serith < 13 > 12 [d20=4]
<Veren > OOC: opposed feint roll?
<Sharm> roll 1d20+11
<Serith> Sharm roll for Serith < 30 > 12 [d20=19]
<Veren > OOC: You're flat-footed.
<Lucy> roll 1d20+7+4
<Serith> Lucy roll for Serith < 31 > 12 [d20=20]
<Veren > roll 1d20+14 ATK 1
<Serith> Veren roll for Serith < 16 > 12 [d20=2]
<Veren > roll 1d20+9 ATK 2
<Serith> Veren roll for Serith < 18 > 12 [d20=9]
<Sharm> OOC: AC 21 still. I have no dex.
<Sharm> roll 2d4 rounds until I can use corsairs feint since this might turn into a slobberknocker.
<Serith> Sharm roll for Serith < 4 > 12 [d4=1,3]

<Serith> Koaway roll for Serith < 6 > 12 [d100=6]
<Kotono> roll 1d100
<Serith> Kotono roll for Serith < 44 > 12 [d100=44]
<Kotono> Going around is largely without incident. As you go on down the road and through the town - really just a little cluster of houses, a shop and a few fields, Jetina speaks up. "I hope this works. Do you think Sharm can fool them?"
<Moore> "I think she'll be fine." Moore says, sticking with the invisibility for now. "If not, then we just rescue her."
<Lucy> "She's not lying, strictly speaking," Lucy muses, staying aware of her surroundings as any bodyguard should.
<Veren > "She's an impressive figure. Even if she doesn't completely convince them, I doubt they'll call her on it out-right."
<Kotono> "I hope so," Jetina says, "I don't really know how well she fights yet. I just hope she's not in over her head."
* Veren nods.
<Veren > "It's possible. She seems at least smart enough to know when to cut and run, to me."
<Kotono> OOC: Ready to move along?
<Lucy> OOC: Yes
<Veren > OOC: Yep.
<Kotono> OOC: Okay, I'll move you all into #dunes where the ambush happens.
