Session Start: Tue Mar 24 11:48:42 2015
Session Ident: #dunes
* Now talking in #dunes
* Topic is 'Moore(31)>Myann(19 blind 9 ) '
* Set by Kotono on Mon Mar 23 12:38:55
<Kotono> -----
<Kotono> <Moore> Moore takes a breath. "There's more to this than meets the eye... but what?" Moore shakes his head and decides to try something -- maybe a Dispel magic will work? So he tries that!
<Kotono> <Moore> roll 1d20+10 dispel at ???
<Kotono> <SpaceCat> Moore roll for SpaceCat < 12 > [d20=2]
<Kotono> > But nothing happens at all. It isn't phased by being dispelled. OOC: Veren.
<Kotono> * Kotono changes topic to 'Lucy=Mummy(27)>Sharm(23)>???(21)>Moore=Jetina(20)>Veren(14)'
<Kotono> * Veren focuses his mental abilities and closes in to get into knife range! OOC: Hustle, -3pp Swift, 30 ft, then 10 ft. normal. 19pp left
<Kotono> > OOC: Okay.
* Kotono changes topic to 'Lucy=Mummy(27)>Sharm(23)>???(21)>Moore=Jetina(20)>Veren(14) '
<Kotono> OOC: Anything else or is that it for the round, Veren?
> OOC: That's it.
<Kotono> OOC: Lucy and Mummy. Go.
* Lucy summons another mummy which gleefully joins in the assault of the shrouded nemesis while restricting its movements!
<Lucy> roll 1d20+11+2+2 charging mummy!
<Serith> Lucy roll for Serith < 33 > 12 [d20=18]
<Lucy> roll 1d20+11+2 flanking mummy!
<Serith> Lucy roll for Serith < 16 > 12 [d20=3]
<Kotono> OOC: First hits.
<Lucy> roll 1d6+10 and mummy rot Fort DC16
<Serith> Lucy roll for Serith < 13 > 12 [d6=3]
<Kotono> OOC: Immune to the mummy rot.
<Lucy> OOC: Okay then! I'm not moving, but I'll use an immediate if it targets me.
<Kotono> The new mummy manages a hit - but it seems to do nothing, another blow that just rolls off the strange assassin. OOC: Sharm.
<Sharm> She just has to trust that the damage she inflicts is real and just being hidden, not negated. But she won't be able to keep this up for long... Even so, Sharm stands before the creature, swinging her sword for its vitals wherever she can reach them!
<Sharm> roll 1d20+19 flanking
<Serith> Sharm roll for Serith < 32 > 12 [d20=13]
<Sharm> roll 1d20+19 flanking
<Serith> Sharm roll for Serith < 26 > 12 [d20=7]
<Sharm> roll 1d20+14 flanking
<Serith> Sharm roll for Serith < 34 > 12 [d20=20]
<Sharm> roll 1d20+14 flanking crit?
<Serith> Sharm roll for Serith < 22 > 12 [d20=8]
<Kotono> OOC: All hit.
<Sharm> roll 3#2d6+11+2d6
<Serith> Sharm roll for Serith < 25, 24, 20 >
<Kotono> Hit after hit rips the creature apart - yet it stands undamaged, undisturbed. Sharm's head begins to throb as she tries to process it, reality seemingly unable to agree with itself for long moments. Yet it stands untouched, as the creature momentarily vibrates. OOC: Fortitude saves, everyone in melee. That's the mummies, Veren and Sharm.
<Lucy> roll 1d20+4 original mummy
<Serith> Lucy roll for Serith < 5 > 12 [d20=1]
<Lucy> roll 1d20+4 mummy #2
<Serith> Lucy roll for Serith < 12 > 12 [d20=8]
> roll 1d20+6+5 Fort/Inspiration
<Serith> Veren roll for Serith < 18 > 12 [d20=7]
<Sharm> roll 1d20+13
<Serith> Sharm roll for Serith < 26 > 12 [d20=13]
<Kotono> roll 40d6 the two mummies are likely dust, mummies only
<Serith> Kotono roll for Serith < 137 > 12 [d6=5,4,2,6,4,1,4,1,4,5,2,2,4,5,1,5,3,2,3,5,3,2,5,4,5,2,3,1,5,6,3,5,4,3,6,1,3,1,6,1]
* Kotono changes topic to 'Lucy(27)>Sharm(23)>???(21)>Moore=Jetina(20)>Veren(14) '
<Kotono> roll 10d6 full Veren and Sharm, expect a PM shortly you two.
<Serith> Kotono roll for Serith < 35 > 12 [d6=3,5,2,4,2,3,5,5,4,2]
<Kotono> The mummies take it first. The color and light drain from them, fizzling out like little sparkles around them. All that's left is a shadowy husk, which collapses into nothingness. Just like that, they're gone. Sharm and Veren both shudder as they're hit by it, the color partially leeching from them. They look duller, darker, shadowy now - but intact. They ache all over, new sensations and odd
<Kotono> feelings in them. OOC: See PMs. Moore and Jetina are up.
<Lucy> "You really are a worthy opponent!" Lucy exclaims, growing even more excited as her minions are dispatched with such terrible fury.
<Moore> "Veren! Sharm!" Moore calls out. There's got to be more to this... is it like the cave? Do they just have to believe they're doing damage? Moore shakes his head and takes a breath. "Veren! Stand strong amid this madness! Everyone else, don't falter! We can do this!" Moore says, inspiring Veren with greatness and bolstering his allies against attacks! OOC: 2d10 temp HP for Veren, +2 competence
<Moore> on attack and +1 Fort, and then switching the Aura to Fortitude
<Kotono> "What in Qupan's name ARE you?" Jetina clutches her holy symbol, shrinking back. "Qupan, please!" Healing energy flows over the party, mending wounds.
<Kotono> roll (4d6*1.5)+10
<Serith> Kotono roll for Serith < error: missing right parenthesis >
<Kotono> roll 4d6
<Serith> Kotono roll for Serith < 13 > 12 [d6=2,6,2,3]
<Kotono> roll 13*1.5
<Serith> Kotono roll for Serith < error: missing right parenthesis >
<Moore> OOC: And Healing Hymn should be active for 3 more rounds, if that isn't factored in already
<Kotono> OOC: 29 HP healed to all. Lemme see if it ties into that
<Kotono> .
<Kotono> OOC: Applies to spells, not supernatural abilities.
<Moore> OOC: OK
<Kotono> roll 1d6
<Serith> Kotono roll for Serith < 4 > 12 [d6=4]
> roll 5d6 temp HP via Moore
<Kotono> OOC: 6 more HP back for that turn.
<Serith> Veren roll for Serith < 14 > 12 [d6=2,2,5,4,1]
<Kotono> As Moore rallies them, positive energy washes over everything. Like everything else, the shadow creature seems unphased by it, no reaction at all. OOC: Veren.
* Veren stabs out at the creature, aiming for vitals!
> roll 1d20+14+2 ATK 1/Moore Bonus Flanking
<Serith> Veren roll for Serith < 26 > 12 [d20=10]
> roll 1d20+9+2 ATK 2/Moore Bonus Flanking
<Serith> Veren roll for Serith < 24 > 12 [d20=13]
<Kotono> OOC: Both hit.
> OOC: 5 ft step to establish flanking/SA with Sharm.
<Kotono> OOC: Okay.
> OOC: Does Anarchic apply?
<Kotono> OOC: No.
> roll 1d4+3+5d6 Sneak Attack ATK 1
> roll 1d4+3+5d6 Sneak Attack ATK 2
<Serith> Veren roll for Serith < 21 > 12 [d4=2][d6=5,3,1,1,6]
<Serith> Veren roll for Serith < 21 > 12 [d4=4][d6=3,4,1,5,1]
<Kotono> Two stabs. Organs are pierced and severed - yet he stands uninjured. Veren can't understand it, as he knows he struck true, yet the reality is that it isn't injured at all. OOC: Lucy.
<Lucy> She has a plan to unleash her strongest spell in the most effective manner possible-- but first, why not do a dry run? Lucy boosts her spellcasting, pushing it quite past her normal limits, and then dispatches a quintet of magic missiles brimming with necromancy at her worthy opponent!
<Lucy> OOC: quickened true casting + fell drain MM
<Lucy> roll 1d20+20 SR
<Serith> Lucy roll for Serith < 30 > 12 [d20=10]
<Kotono> OOC: Success.
<Lucy> roll 5d4+5 and a level drain
<Serith> Lucy roll for Serith < 15 > 12 [d4=2,1,2,4,1]
<Kotono> Hit! Yet it's the same as before - Lucy is sure she hit, and yet it is not damaged. Untouched. Unmoving. Relentless. Even her strongest missiles don't seem to have a true impact as...OOC: Sharm.
<Sharm> She's black! That might have worked for Vanae, but Sharm likes being green thank you very much! She really wishes she had the reserves left to fly into another rage because holy shit does this thing deserve it. Instead she swings her sword in a series of wild overhead chops, sparing no energy in each! "Why. Won't. You. Fucking. DIE?!"
<Sharm> roll 1d20+15 -8pa
<Serith> Sharm roll for Serith < 20 > 12 [d20=5]
<Sharm> roll 1d20+15 -8pa
<Serith> Sharm roll for Serith < 22 > 12 [d20=7]
<Sharm> roll 1d20+10 -8pa
<Serith> Sharm roll for Serith < 24 > 12 [d20=14]
<Kotono> OOC: All hit.
<Sharm> roll 3#2d6+11+16+2d6
<Serith> Sharm roll for Serith < 48, 36, 47 >
<Kotono> Amusement. Sharm knows it is amused. Even as her blows land and yet fail to land, a dichotomy of success and failure as it stands untouched, she can feel its amusement. Instead, suddenly...
<Kotono> roll 1d20+15 Jetina fort no 1
<Serith> Kotono roll for Serith < 26 > 12 [d20=11]
<Kotono> roll 5d6 and nothing else
<Serith> Kotono roll for Serith < 23 > 12 [d6=5,2,4,6,6]
<Lucy> 'It's not working,' Lucy's mental voice sounds in everyone's head. 'If direct attacks and magic don't do anything, what about esoteric magical attacks? Any ideas?'
<Moore> OOC: If Veren gets targeted by another fort-related matter I'll give him a boost before he rolls.
<Kotono> Jetina grimaces as parts of her skin flake away into dust, her entire body shuddering, "Qupan," she cries in agony, falling to one knee. But she's still intact, as...OOC: Moore''n'Jetina.
> "My blade struck, but no damage, either... Perhaps something light based?"
<Moore> Moore replies to Lucy as quickly as he can, 'Maybe it has something to do with the wrappings? I don't know... There's more to this though, do you have anything that affects... If it's from the Light, maybe something that diminishes that sort of thing?'
<Lucy> 'Veren suggests light,' Lucy reports to the others. 'We can try that first and work our way through the elements. Moore suggests Darkness, so I'll try that myself.'
<Kotono> "T-then..." Jetina rises in shaky legs, approaching the creature. A small halo of light appears around her hand as she attempts to touch the strange creature.
<Kotono> roll 1d20+11 touch
<Moore> Moore turns to Jetina, now. "Stand, Maiden of Qupan! Let this song empower you!" Thus, he grants her the inspiration of Greatness!
<Serith> Kotono roll for Serith < 21 > 12 [d20=10]
<Moore> OOC: I don't know if the +2 would apply to that or not
<Kotono> OOC: She hit anyway.
<Moore> OOC: Well there you go then
<Kotono> Lucy knows the spell - a simple light orison. But when her hand touches the creature, it begins to glow with a faint light. It visibly distorts like rippling water, several layered images. Then...OOC: More.
* Kotono changes topic to 'Lucy(27)>???(25)>Sharm(23)>???(21)>Moore=Jetina(20)>???(15)>Veren(14)>???(10) '
<Kotono> A gust of wind comes from the creature, a dull black wind that scythes through the party.
<Kotono> roll 1d20+20 SR, let me know if any of you negate this
<Serith> Kotono roll for Serith < 39 > 12 [d20=19]
<Kotono> roll 5d6 all, no save
<Moore> OOC: Not with that roll :(
<Serith> Kotono roll for Serith < 16 > 12 [d6=1,4,1,4,6]
* Kotono changes topic to 'Lucy(27)>???(25)>Sharm(23)>???(21)>Moore=Jetina(20 ko)>???(15)>Veren(14)>???(10) '
<Kotono> Energy is ripped from each of you, sending you staggering back. IT flows in lines of golden light towards the shadow, becoming darkness as it touches it. The creature is rippling wildly, as a single word is known to all of you without being spoken: Aggression. OOC: Veren.
<Kotono> Meanwhile, Jetina stumbles from the blast and collapses at the creature's feet. OOC: More nonlethal than current HP.
<Moore> OOC: Does that include her temp HP?
<Kotono> OOC: Oh, that has some? How much?
<Moore> OOC: It hasn't been rolled, but she has Inspire Greatness so 2d10 worth
<Kotono> roll 2d10
<Serith> Kotono roll for Serith < 13 > 12 [d10=10,3]
<Kotono> OOC: That'll keep her u.
<Moore> OOC: Whew!
* Veren stabs out again, moving around to help rip openings in the thing's defenses for both Sharm and himself!
<Kotono> OOC: Jetina's still up then. Veren, go.
> roll 1d20+14+2 ATK 1/Moore
<Serith> Veren roll for Serith < 25 > 12 [d20=9]
> roll 1d20+9+2 ATK 2/Moore
<Serith> Veren roll for Serith < 16 > 12 [d20=5]
<Kotono> OOC: One hit.
> roll 1d4+3+5d6 Sneak Attack
<Serith> Veren roll for Serith < 23 > 12 [d4=4][d6=6,4,1,3,2]
<Kotono> A strike. This time the stab into its guts stays, a real wound. No blood, but a hole is left behind instead of nothing. Then the howling winds return again, scything through the party.
<Kotono> roll 1d20+20 SR, let me know if any of you negate this
<Serith> Kotono roll for Serith < 28 > 12 [d20=8]
<Kotono> roll 5d6 all no save
<Serith> Kotono roll for Serith < 13 > 12 [d6=2,4,2,2,3]
<Kotono> Now Jetina can take no more and collapses, the second wind blast sending her down and out. Energy is torn again from the party, like newly opened tap they can't stop. Each of them is getting heavy and hazy-headed, dizzy from the onslaught.  OOC: Lucy.
<Lucy> roll 1d20+18 K:A
<Serith> Lucy roll for Serith < 28 > 12 [d20=10]
<Kotono> Lucy isn't sure - it's like it's draining the life from the party, but that isn't entirely right. It's operating on levels she simply doesn't understand, but at the same time, it's similar but sharply different from the light of the light sea.
<Lucy> She doesn't understand a thing, but the one thing she does realize after looking at Jetina is that this is killing her terrible fast. Therefore, with no alternative in mind, she tears off her necklace as she zooms across the torn up battlefield upon her wings, and drops it right by the mummy of light after imbuing it with Darkness.
<Kotono> OOC: So what precisely are you doing here? Imbuing your necklace with darkness and dropping it by the strange creature?
<Lucy> OOC: Yes. It's a lvl2 spell so it'll counter the orison and then some. Hopefully I'll learn from it.
* Kotono changes topic to 'Lucy(27)>Sharm(23)>???(21)>Moore=Jetina(20 ko)>Veren(14) '
<Kotono> The necklace falls. The light around the creature fades. Its wound also fades, as it becomes as before. Darkness falls once more over it, as the winds cease and die down. OOC: Sharm.
<Moore> What the...? Moore blinks. Is that...?
<Lucy> 'So Light hurts it, but we have to hit it badly enough with Light for it to matter,' Lucy concludes and sends to the others. 'Get Jetina out of the way and buy me a few moments, I'll cast Daylight.'
<Sharm> Lowering her sword as she considers Lucy's idea, and seeing its reaction to Jetina's light spell, Sharm clenches her left fist as fire smolders within it, painfully bright to her new eyes, before thrusting it out towards the creature, a solid hammer of flames flying out to slam into the thing and knock it back!
<Sharm> roll 1d100 wild surge +1 (augmenting 8pp)
<Serith> Sharm roll for Serith < 72 > 12 [d100=72]
<Sharm> roll 1d20+11 ranged touch energy push
<Serith> Sharm roll for Serith < 30 > 12 [d20=19]
<Sharm> roll 1d100 20% concealment
<Serith> Sharm roll for Serith < 91 > 12 [d100=91]
<Sharm> roll 6d6+6 fire DC 23 ref half and DC 23 strength check or pushed back 5 feet for every 5 damage taken.
<Serith> Sharm roll for Serith < 30 > 12 [d6=5,5,4,6,1,3]
<Kotono> OOC: Link me to the power used?
<Sharm> http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/powers/energyPush.htm
<Kotono> roll 1d20 str
<Serith> Kotono roll for Serith < 18 > 12 [d20=18]
<Kotono> The creature is hit and sent flying - but at the same time, yet it stands untouched and unmoved. Again with this! Again with the split knowledge of success and the reality of failure, as suddenly...OOC: Fort save, Veren. Moore's aura applies and I think he had an interrupt for this?
<Moore> OOC: Yes, giving him a +5 in addition
<Kotono> OOC: Okay. G'luck on the save, Veren.
> roll 1d20+6+2+5+5 Fort/Moore Bonuses/Inspiration
<Serith> Veren roll for Serith < 28 > 12 [d20=10]
> OOC: 4 Inspiration left.
<Moore> OOC: There's also a +8 you didn't include from the aura
> OOC: There is? Man, you've got way too many bonuses. That's 36 total then.
<Kotono> roll 5d6 and nothing else
<Serith> Kotono roll for Serith < 24 > 12 [d6=6,6,4,5,3]
<Kotono> Veren can see parts of himself simply cease to be there. Parts that bleed, holes created that leave him ragged. But he's still alive - hurting but alive and oh so cold. OOC: Moore and Jetina.
<Kotono> OOC: Jetina's in lala land, so no move for her. Go Moore.
<Moore> "Jetina! Get up!" Moore blows on his horn of resilience to get Jetina back on her feet! OOC: Jetina gets 50 temp HP
<Kotono> Jetina rises. Shaky and weak, she grasps her holy symbol, "Qupan," she gasps, as the party is healed once more.
<Kotono> roll 5d6
<Serith> Kotono roll for Serith < 19 > 12 [d6=6,2,3,6,2]
<Kotono> roll 19+9+10
<Serith> Kotono roll for Serith < 38 >
<Kotono> OOC: Everyone but her heals 38 HP.
<Kotono> Energy again restores the party, Jetina on shaky legs as she struggles to stand up. OOC: Veren.
> OOC: Can I hold until Lucy does her thing?
<Kotono> OOC: Sure. Go Lucy.
<Lucy> With but a thought, Lucy moves her enchanted jewelry fifteen feet away from the unflappable creature, leaving it just within the range of the Darkness. She takes a step back as well, but her full attention lies in calling upon the Spellpool to draw within her grasp the strongest Light spell she can think of, Daylight!
<Lucy> 'Use your strongest healing spell on yourself right now or flee before I cast my spell!' she mentally bids Jetina once the arcane energy draws close enough for her to feel it. From the others, she requests, 'Just buy me a few moments to try something.'
<Lucy> OOC: quickened mage hand to do the former, then the rest is spent memorizing Daylight
<Kotono> OOC: Okay. Veren, let me know if you're going to take your held action. Otherwise, go Sharm.
> OOC: Gonna wait till her spell hits since the previous light spell let me stick a hole in the thing. Logic dictates, sorta.
<Sharm> "Buy time how? Nothing we do even matters to it!" Sharm grumbles, deciding to just toss her sword aside now, spreading her arms out and leaping onto the thing to wrap it in a bear hug!
<Sharm> roll 1d20+18 grapplan
<Serith> Sharm roll for Serith < 32 > 12 [d20=14]
<Kotono> It's like touching ice and mist. It's impossible to hold, yet Sharm does it. She has her hands and arms around it - it doesn't even seem interested in repelling it. Instead...OOC: It's up. Fort, Sharm.
<Sharm> roll 1d20+13
> "I... Everything is in black and white now..."
<Serith> Sharm roll for Serith < 19 > 12 [d20=6]
<Moore> OOC: Does that include the +8 from the aura?
<Sharm> OOC: no
<Moore> OOC: Well hopefully that's enough!
<Kotono> roll 5d6 and nothing else
<Serith> Kotono roll for Serith < 15 > 12 [d6=2,4,6,2,1]
<Moore> OOC: Whew!
<Kotono> Bit of Sharm are gone, but the vast majority of her is intact. Pain comes, but it's manageable pain, one that makes her feel a little more alive. OOC: Jetina and Moore.
<Kotono> Jetina manages to stumble away, making her retreat 30ft away while the going is good.
<Moore> Knowing that the life he's given Jetina is probably going to wear out soon, Moore flies over to heal her himself. "Give me just a moment and I'll make things easier for you." He says as he offers some healing to Jetina.
<Moore> roll 1d8+5 CLW
<Serith> Moore roll for Serith < 8 > 12 [d8=3]
<Kotono> Healing energy rejuvenates Jetina as...OOC: Assuming Veren continues to hold, Lucy's up.
<Lucy> The necklace, controlled by her mind, is tossed further aside -- far enough that it no longer shields their enemy. Meanwhile, Lucy casts Daylight upon her sword and brandishes it before the creature as she advances upon it!
<Kotono> The creature ripples once more - and with Lucy's spell, ripples even further. It's constantly in motion now, the winds beginning once more. OOC: Attacking it?
* Kotono changes topic to 'Lucy(27)>???(25)>Sharm(23)>???(21)>Moore=Jetina(20 ko)>???(15)>Veren(14)>???(10) '
<Kotono> OOC: Oh wait, daylight would be your standard. Dur.
<Lucy> OOC: Yeah.
<Kotono> As the creature ripples, winds begin to howl and slice through the party again. They're relentless, sucking away all the life energy they can.
<Kotono> roll 5d6 all
<Serith> Kotono roll for Serith < 24 > 12 [d6=5,5,3,5,6]
<Moore> OOC: No SR this time?
<Kotono> roll 1d20+20 dur
<Serith> Kotono roll for Serith < 27 > 12 [d20=7]
<Lucy> 'Who wants to stab that thing with the sword of light?' Lucy asks Sharm and Veren.
<Kotono> Life and sheer energy is torn from everyone, dissolving into darkness as they withstand the attack. The shadow creature is constantly vibrating, as something is known to each of you in your minds, without a word spoken: RAGE. OOC: Sharm, go.
<Lucy> "Yes, it hurts, doesn't it?!" Lucy doesn't neglect to gloat.
<Sharm> "Little tied up here!" Sharm says, hooking a leg around the creature's ankle and trying to force him down onto the ground beneath her.
<Sharm> roll 1d20+18 going for a pin
<Serith> Sharm roll for Serith < 34 > 12 [d20=16]
<Lucy> 'Veren, let's not waste any time!'
<Kotono> The creature is pinned down - vulnerable, yet it doesn't stop the winds at all, which are getting stronger! They're rapidly picking up in intensity!
<Kotono> roll 1d20+20
<Serith> Kotono roll for Serith < 26 > 12 [d20=6]
<Kotono> roll 6d6 all no save
<Serith> Kotono roll for Serith < 17 > 12 [d6=1,5,1,5,3,2]
<Moore> OOC: So close :(
* Veren holds a hand out for the weapon!
<Kotono> OOC: Going to take your held action, Veren?
> OOC: Yeah.
* Kotono changes topic to 'Lucy(27)>???(25)>Sharm(23)>Veren>???(21)>Moore=Jetina(20 ko)>???(15)???(10) '
<Kotono> OOC: Go.
<Sharm> OOC: oh, I'm blinded by daylight. Except I guess I still have my light shades so we can ignore that?
* Veren takes the sword and stabs at the creature!
> roll 1d20+14 ATK 1 Greatsword of Daylight!
<Serith> Veren roll for Serith < 30 > 12 [d20=16]
> roll 1d20+9 ATK 2 Greatsword of Daylight!

<Kotono> OOC: Crit confirm.
> roll 1d20+9 ATK 2 Greatsword of Daylight! Crit confirm!
<Serith> Veren roll for Serith < 28 > 12 [d20=19]
<Kotono> OOC: Hit and a crit.
> roll 2d6+2d6 Sneak Attack ATK 1
<Serith> Veren roll for Serith < 12 > 12 [d6=4,6,1,1]
<Kotono> OOC: It's 5d6 for SA, it's flatfooted in grapple.
> OOC: 3d6 of my SA only applies if I'm using Daggers.
<Kotono> OOC: Okay.
> roll 4d6+2+2d6 Crit/SA ATK 2
<Serith> Veren roll for Serith < 15 > 12 [d6=5,1,2,3,1,1]
<Lucy> OOC: +1 there total
<Kotono> With the creature pinned down, Veren takes his chance. He stabs down over and over into the rippling form of the shadow creature, a scream erupting from his mouth as he impales it over and over. The light opens up great gouges in it, tearing it apart before you. The ripples explode out everywhere, the creature bursting in wave after wave of dark energies.  The ground shakes violently in the
<Kotono> grasp of a massive earthquake, knocking all the party to the ground. With a final burst and a shake of the earth that spreads cracks all around you, the shadow creature is gone. All that's left behind is a small little shard of black glass. OOC: Free act.
<Moore> Moore blinks, then blinks again. Did they do it?
<Lucy> "Take that!" Lucy crows, flying up in triumph. "Forbidden to learn things, am I? Think again!"
* Veren drops the sword and pants a bit, then starts moving his hands around and watching them, experimenting with his... new... vision.
<Moore> Jetina! He turns and takes a breath. "Jetina, heal yourself. I'll make it easier for you. Healing, come easily to our broken bodies! Allow us to be restored!" OOC: Using Healing Hymn
> "I can no longer see colors."
<Sharm> Standing up properly now, Sharm finally has a chance to exclaim, "Okay what the fuck was that?! Why am I black now? Why can't I see colors anymore? Why am I so fucking cold?!"
> "Also, put your sword away. It's glowing is... bothersome."
* Veren narrows his eyes at all the glowing things that are newly irritating to him."
<Moore> Huh? What are those two talking about? It'll have to wait for now.
<Kotono> Jetina groans and gets on it, casting a quick healing spell. OOC: CSW, between her boost and healing hymn, it's full healing
<Lucy> With a snap of her fingers, the glow extinguishes. Then, a moment later, her necklace stops draining away all light in the area. But that's not important right now, and Lucy lands next to Jetina before looking her over worriedly. "Are you quite alright? Still got all your fingers and toes, do you?"
> OOC: You want my damn worthless wand?
<Kotono> "I think so," Jetina gets up slowly, "What in Qupan's name is all this?" Around you the ground is cracked. Trees farther away have fallen, while a nearby hill has a crack in the side. It's silent except for the noises the party makes right now.
<Moore> He'll leave Jetina to do her job, then clear his throat and look around. "Well, we did it, didn't we!?" He shouts at the air. "I think you owe us to return that which you took from us -- both individually and the people!" He shouts again. He takes a breath and casts a spell of inspiration, then goes to cast Detect Magic on Veren and Sharm.
<Sharm> Grabbing her sword, Sharm scowls at the group. "Knew I should have stuck around in prison. Acid webs are a picnic compared to this."
<Lucy> "The Light's mummy guardian?" Lucy tells Jetina with a shrug. "I'm not sure. Do you still want to deal with that group of bandits? Because if so I will insist we take the direct approach."
<Kotono> There's fading magic around Sharm and Veren. OOC: Spellcraft, Moore.
<Moore> roll 1d20+14+5
<Serith> Moore roll for Serith < 39 > 12 [d20=20]
> "Should we not rest and investigate why Sharm and I can no longer see colors first?"
<Moore> "Hold on." Moore says. "I need a moment."
<Kotono> The fading magic around them connects to the small shard of black glass left behind by the creature. It looks to be some sort of connection - keeping and solidifying the changes they're going through right now.
<Moore> Moore turns and looks at the shard. He'll try to identify the magic contained in it, then.
<Kotono> OOC: Spellcraft again.
<Kotono> "I don't know right now," Jetina looks around, "I'm still getting my bearings."
<Moore> roll 1d20+14+5
<Serith> Moore roll for Serith < 27 > 12 [d20=8]
<Sharm> "Nah, fearless girl's got herself banged up, that's the priority, right?" Sharm grumbles, perversely glad at least someone's suffering the same ailment as her. "As for the bandits, fuck them. Way I figure it I've earned my freedom already."
<Moore> "Something about this shard is causing it." Moore says. "Try walking away from it." He flies down closer to the shard and looks periodically between it and the others to see if them moving from it has any kind of impact on the magic.
<Sharm> Anything to be green again. Sharm starts walking at a rapid pace away from the rock.
* Veren does so.
<Kotono> The shard's a massively powerful magical source. It's completing the changes to them - and it could be reversed back easily enough, if you act fast.
<Moore> OOC: Do I have any idea what that entails? Breaking it? Hiding it? More light?
<Moore> OOC: Or just a Dispel Magic?
<Kotono> OOC: Umding it.
<Moore> OOC: Oh, I can do that.
> OOC: I can crit fail that and open a portal to hell with it.
<Moore> roll 1d20+18+5 UMD don't jinx me on this Iddy
<Serith> Moore roll for Serith < 40 > 12 [d20=17]
<Moore> OOC: I saw the 1 and almost had a heart attack
<Kotono> Moore grasps and invokes the glass shard. Slowly, Veren and Sharm return to normal. Color returns and the dark template leaves them. OOC: Template and all related powers/drawbacks lost.
<Lucy> "How interesting!"
<Moore> He takes a deep breath. "Well, that's a relief. Give me an hour to try and figure this thing out, all right?" He asks. "I think the bandits can wait a day or two."
<Moore> "If we didn't accidentally kill all of them with the resulting explosion." Moore adds.
<Sharm> "Great, that's something," Sharm sighs, looking at her refreshingly green arms. "I'm gonna go get the bag with all the money in it. Everyone can get theirs back, and then we can go our separate ways."
* Veren blinks and observes the returned colors around him.
<Lucy> "Just stay on Miss Aria's good side and that would be fine by me," Lucy murmurs, picking up her discarded necklace and sword.
<Kotono> "Hold on," Jetina says, "Who needs healing? Sharm? Veren?"
* Veren nods and approaches Jetina.
<Kotono> Looking about more, "Actually, all of you need some, don't you?"
<Sharm> "Yeah, I could go for some," Sharm says, figuring she may as well get fixed up before she goes off on her own.
> "I seem to have... poor luck... with my healing wand. Would anyone else want it?"
<Moore> Moore turns to Sharm with a frown. "I know this probably wasn't the greatest showing, but isn't this the sort of thing you should live for? To overcome challenges and see new sights? ....Well, I guess you already technically have seen them... But I'm sorry if our, er... adventures have you that soured on things. This is sort of abnormality, if that helps..."
<Kotono> roll 1d8+15 clw Sharm plust some fast healing that'll top you off so assume max HP

<Sharm> "Not really seeing a good future with you lot. Be best for us both just to go our own ways and leave it at that." If she's lucky there might still be a spot on that Rossalund expedition.
<Kotono> "I don't think we can do that," Jetina speaks up, "We gave our word we'd watch you." Dusting herself off once done, "Not cut you free. Besides that, you're good with a sword if you want to stay around more."
> "I doubt the city would let you simply walk away, either. Considering what you went through last time, take a moment and think about what they'd send after you. And what they'd do when they caught you."
<Moore> "I don't know that you'll find much better than us. I don't think a random group could've done what we did today." Moore says with a nod to Jetina. Moore thinks for a moment... is this a good idea? Well, it's worth trying...  "Are you afraid of what else you might meet traveling with us?"
<Sharm> "Oh I do not want to hear that from you," Sharm glares at Jetina. "I got my guts torn open and then a fucking hairbrush thrown into them to help sell ourselves to those bandits! And I fought damn hard to protect you from that freak when your fairy pal there would've left you to get vanished like Little did. I've paid my dues!"
<Kotono> Jetina returns that look evenly, "You did, and thank you. But my word is my bond. If you like, I'll gladly advocate for your freedom when we return to town. You earned that, and if you're decided on going, let's do it the right way."
* Veren nods.
> "In a place that relies on divination as heavily as the city does, flouting their... rules... will do you no good. Escape is not freedom."
<Sharm> "So that's how it is then?" Sharm gives them an appraising look, but given how the fake battle went while everyone was holding back, well everyone except Jetina, she doubts pressing the matter would help her. Reaching down to pick up her sword, she sheathes it and concludes, "Alright then."
* Veren nods.
> "I will help advocate your freedom."
<Kotono> "Fighting the law rarely goes well. It's better to cooperate with it whenever possible," Jetina smiles, "What are your plans after you leave?"
<Moore> "If you want to go, we can't stop you." Moore says. "But let me see if I can figure this thing out. I might be able to bring him back and send him with you, if you want."
<Moore> OOC: One of those 'him's should be Little
<Lucy> "If you've somehow learned the wondrous magics of life and death, can't you bring Mister Kamhoff back first?"
<Sharm> "Find work, and avoid pissing off the wrong people," Sharm replies shortly. She did that once and it got her imprisoned. Today she did it again and nearly got vanished or put into a forever sleep. There won't be a third time.
<Moore> "If I can, I will. But I think this thing is connected to that creature... well, it all might be connected." Moore says. "I just need some time."

This is not the greatest post in the world, no... this is just a tribute.
