Afina focuses her will on the goldenfire, but nothing happens. She has a sensation of burning, of cleaning, but nothing more.

Jaela focuses her will as well, but just like Afina, nothing happens.

Kascha calls back as she hurries over, "We can try that, but Wand might not survive." She reaches out for the embers, "Please," she murmurs, "We need your help, not your scorn. I don't know if you're intelligent and if you can understand this, but..."

"Not for me, but for everyone trapped on Lifasa. The Duke of Destiny's plans have to be stopped," Kascha's words are soft, barely above a whisper. Golden flames leap up from the embers, surrounding Kascha.

Kascha falls to her knees, the ghaele weeping golden tears as her body cracks. Cracks as if she were a porcelain doll handled too roughly, blood tinted gold oozing out. Her lips begin to move but no sound comes out, then she stops. "..aaaaahhh..." she whimpers in a piteous voice. The golden flames around her fade, the embers cooling before your eyes. They barely burn now - three coals tinted a light golden color, a comfortable heat radiating from them.

The moment that's done, Kascha falls back. Her gaze is unfocused and she lies in a growing pool of her own golden blood. "Oh Seira," she moans, her voice a heady mix of pain and wonder. "Oh, oh, oh! There's so many and the sun shines on all of them."

Free act for now.

Kascha was essentially mimicking the two of you since she didn't have any better ideas. The DC for getting the attention of the embers (which may or may not be intelligent in some manner) was 25, she made it on the number. Goldenfire from the embers then flowed into her body and mind. She failed the fort save and took 16 Con damage, but got lucky on the Will save and got a 20. She wasn't passing either save without a natural 20.

If Kascha were more coherent, she'd say this: Remember everyone, primal artifacts can be dangerous simply because of what they are.

Just as well someone succeeded round 1, since things would've gotten interesting (in the most difficult sense of the word) if no one had managed something effective. There were other paths, but this one worked out.

Surraruthru lands next to Kascha's head and nervously bounces from one foot to the other, looking her over worriedly.

"Kascha! Kascha, how can I help? I can't heal. I can maybe put you to sleep until we get back to Aurora."

He curls around the top of her head protectively, watching her face.

This is not the greatest post in the world, no... this is just a tribute.

Anastasia

"W-water," Kascha gasps, clothing gold-blood stained.

Meanwhile Mirajane comes over, kneeling and checking her over. She murmurs a quiet prayer, tracing lines over Kascha's body. "Mother," Mirajane looks up, "Healing isn't working."

"How are you, Kascha?" Jaela asks, kneeling by her side. "Can you hold out for a few minutes as we go back to Origin?"

"She took the Goldenfire into her body," Afina says, landing beside Kascha. "It'll be like when I took on Water, the body needs to adapt on its own without magic." Unfortunately despite that elemental connection Afina can't magically produce water to salve the poor angel's thirst. "We should get her back to Aurora for bedrest, but if either of you can conjure some water it'd help right now."

Corwin

Jaela focuses as hard as she can on summoning some water for Kascha.

Anastasia

"Think so," Kascha grimaces as Jaela attempts to summon water. "Help...help me get the embers."

Arrel stands behind them all until that, coming forward, "Lie on my back and I'll fly you over."

Create water, Jalea?

Corwin

Yeah. Failure chance but I can force it through in a couple rounds if need be.

Ebiris

"Just take it easy," Afina bids Kascha, pulling her floating disk over and picking up the embers to put them on top of it. "But I wonder - are these the first embers?" she asks, since Kascha hopefully got some insight from that. "I thought they were on Thalassia somewhere and we had to get the key here, but maybe that was misdirection?"

Anastasia

Cor, that's fine, just make 3 or 4 rolls and post them. There'll be an action if you manage to fail that many in a row, but it's otherwise easy enough to spam.

Anastasia

"They aren't, but they're close. It's..." she shudders, "Enough for now. They're the key, but we need time and rest. They aren't finished. They aren't a real key yet."

Jaela's magic is just exhausted. Mirajane gestures, water appearing for Kascha, "Triune, direct the River Oceanus to us and grant us its blessings."

"Mother," Mirajane says with a soft smile, "I think your magic's tired."

Kascha drinks as she sits up. Once done, "We need to...I mean I know, we need to take them back to Aurora and forge them into a key."

Afina nods, waiting until Kascha's slaked her thirst and gotten on Arrel's back. "You wanted to go back and see Origin, Jaela?" They may as well, they have time to kill before they can reliably gate or plane shift away from here.

Corwin

"It's probably mental fatigue than anything else," Jaela responds. "It's clear what we should do. Help Afina with the embers. Arrel will get Kascha, while Surraruthru keeps watch over her. Let's see Origin and then get back to Aurora."
