Corwin

I, Mirajane, Hanna and Afina?
<Steph> I might have made a terrible mistake

Anastasia

Sounds good.

Whee! It's a long, icy slide. Down the four of you go. You race down, picking up speed. Loop after loop after loop - look! The bottom, you all are racing to it. It's a small island of ice, barely 5ft of ice before a lake of super chilled waters, just like the ones you saw before. You're also heading down fast now and on a sling-shot course to go right into the drink unless you can stick a good landing on the ice.
<Afina> Imagine a tiny pixie boot stamping on a devil's face.
<Afina> Forever.

<Yuthirin> Afina, giant parasitic rainbow space whale.
<IronDragoon> I mean, why not?

Corwin

"Lake of killer water, up ahead!" Jaela calls out, trying to slow herself by jamming her spear into the walls! It might be a bad idea, but still better than hoping they all make a good landing on a platform too small to hold them all.
<Steph> I might have made a terrible mistake

Ebiris

Why even stick a landing? Just take flight and avoid the issue! But Afina can help a bit if anyone's slow in getting airborne, as she manifests a wall of upwardly gusting wind at the edge of the island to slow any horizontal momentum and aid in transitioning to the vertical so that when she emerges from the slide she can fly straight up!

Using Wind Wall sla. Afina explicitly can't go past it since she's small, but it should at least give medium/large types some help in not taking a dunk

Anastasia

Okay. Strength check, Jaela, +4 circumstance bonus from the wind wall.
<Afina> Imagine a tiny pixie boot stamping on a devil's face.
<Afina> Forever.

<Yuthirin> Afina, giant parasitic rainbow space whale.
<IronDragoon> I mean, why not?

Corwin

[21:58] <Annerose> roll 1d20+5+4+2
[21:58] <Serith> Annerose roll for Serith < 22 > [d20=11]
<Steph> I might have made a terrible mistake

Anastasia

> roll 1d20+10 Hanna inadvertant Str check (+2 circumstance for being bigger)
<Serith> Kotono roll for Serith < 18 > [d20=8]
> roll 1d20+9 Mirajane (+2 circumstance for Hanna's weight as well)
<Serith> Kotono roll for Serith < 26 > [d20=17]

You manage to hold Hanna hitting you, but the secondary thump is too much. Your spear, weakened by body heat, snaps loudly, and the three of you slide on down towards the wind wall. You're buffeted by winds, slowed considerably as you reach the bottom.

Tumble checks, y'all. -5 circumstance bonus due to slippery ice but a +10 circumstance bonus for the wind wall and the previous pause breaking some of your speed, so net +5.
<Afina> Imagine a tiny pixie boot stamping on a devil's face.
<Afina> Forever.

<Yuthirin> Afina, giant parasitic rainbow space whale.
<IronDragoon> I mean, why not?

Ebiris

[20:11] <@Ebiris> roll 1d20+41 tumble
[20:11] <Serith> Ebiris roll for Serith < 55 > [d20=14]

+5 to that so 60. If Afina is sufficiently graceful that she has her shit together she'll spend an action on rescuing anyone that looks fucked.

Corwin

Jaela launches herself through the wall at the landing point, abandoning the broken spear in flight, before bouncing off the ice and straight up with her superior control over her flight!

A flap of wings ensures she stays there, ready to help should her family or Afina slide past despite all odds!

[22:09] <Annerose> roll 1d20+8+10-5+4+15
[22:09] <Serith> Annerose roll for Serith < 42 > [d20=10]
<Steph> I might have made a terrible mistake

Anastasia

> roll 1d20+37 (+2 good hope) Hanna's good at this
<Serith> Kotono roll for Serith < 42 > [d20=5]
> roll 1d20+14 Mirajane isn't trained, unfortunately
<Serith> Kotono roll for Serith < 16 > [d20=2]

Jaela lands in a kneel, skidding a bit but coming to a stop a foot from the water. Hanna lands without sliding, as Mirajane tries to take to the air - and it sends her out of control and over your heads, flying in a graceful arc towards the water.

You hit DC45 Afina, which is the free stand epic skill usage for tumble. It gets you to your feet from prone as a free action instead of a move action, so go ahead and try. Do note you have an extremely narrow time frame to work in and any failure could get you dunked as well.
<Afina> Imagine a tiny pixie boot stamping on a devil's face.
<Afina> Forever.

<Yuthirin> Afina, giant parasitic rainbow space whale.
<IronDragoon> I mean, why not?

Ebiris

Turning narrow time frames into more generous ones is a special skill of Afina's!

6th level time stop to cast SMX to summon 1d3 celestial rocs
[20:25] <@Ebiris> roll 1d3 celestial rocs
[20:25] <Serith> Ebiris roll for Serith < 1 > [d3=1]

And so an enormous bird appears in just the right spot to catch Mirajane before she sails into the drink! It also starts immediately freezing to death from the horrific temperatures here, but it's a really tough bird with some natural resistance to cold so it can surely tough it out!

Anastasia

Mirajane's caught and brought over, Hanna shaking her head, "Mirajane, it's not your day, is it?" Hanna commiserates.

All around you can see the underground lake. But as you do, you see four platforms rise up from the water and come to the edge of the platform you're on. Differently sized, a big one for Hanna, two medium ones for Mirajane and Jaela and a small one for Afina.

<Yuthirin> Afina, giant parasitic rainbow space whale.
<IronDragoon> I mean, why not?

Corwin

"Interesting," Jaela muses, recasting Divine Insight and stepping onto her platform. Upon reflection, she casts one upon Mirajane as well. "First chance we get, we should try to get new weapons."
<Steph> I might have made a terrible mistake

Ebiris

The roc is left to fly circles overhead as it slowly freezes to death, whether that will do it in before the summons expires is a mystery that remains to be seen. Afina for her part takes the offered invitation, stepping onto the small platform expectantly.

Anastasia

Everyone gets on the platforms. They begin to move out into the water at a steady clip, not splashing at all. As you go, "...Mother," Mirajane rubs the back of her neck, "Do you ever look at a situation from afar and wonder how your life lead you to it?"
