"Hard to say since we never saw him cast a spell. Possessing an elemental Monolith would take a lot of power, but since it's a cooperative thing that probably reduces the burden required. Still, ninth circle casting at an absolute minimum I think." That's the level needed to summon and control a monolith so it provides something of a comparison.

[Anastasia]

"Perhaps, though it could be a something a little simpler," Gold says, "Soul transference is not my area of expertise, though I once sponsored a hero dealing with a cult who used it. Vile business, as they took unwilling captives and forced the matter."

[Ebiris]

"Also it could be an approach that focuses his skills solely in that area while letting others fall behind, like my haste specialisation," Afina suggests.

[Anastasia]

"That is true. Speaking of, I need to focus more on fire," Simmer admits as Gold flies along. "There's so much more fire I could be using."

[Ebiris]

"I do like fire," Afina agrees. "I never much bothered with area effect spells in the past but when fighting the hordes of hell it's a great boon. And so satisfying to cast, too."

[Anastasia]

"Yes," SImmer says, eyes shimmering. "There's nothing better than a fire spell. Oh, the crackle of the flames, the cries of the immolated, the wanton fires spreading laviciously through everything..." A long sigh from Simmer, "It really is the best, Afina."

[Anastasia]

You spot something on the horizon, further ahead on the island. Some sort of slight rise, like the lip of a volcano. The Sinkhole?

[Ebiris]

"Did you hear about what I did to Willah's fortress with one spell? That's not something the assassin's arts can manage!" Afina says brightly, leaning forward a little. "Think I see it on the horizon, we're getting close."

[Anastasia]

"You owe me for that, it was my spell," Simmer grins as you lean ahead.

"It is, a hole large as a mountain,' Gold warns as you fly closer, "I can see elementals there. We fly in and descend down?"

Dragon eyesight is superior.

[Ebiris]

"Land at the edge and we'll have a look down to plan our approach!" she calls over.

[Anastasia]

You approach. It's massive, large enough for Gold to go down comfortably. He lands at the edge, various elementals lingering around it. It's a crust of stone about 15ft high, forming a natural lip. None of them react to the party's presence as you land.

[Ebiris]

Flying off Gold, Afina goes to hover over the hole itself and take a look down at what waits for them below.

[Anastasia]

It's a deep emptiness, going down further than she can see. The walls are volcanic stone and you see the occasional pulse of red light illuminate things farther below.

[Ebiris]

Just a smooth pit or are there ridges/pathways around the sides?
