"Needs just one more," Afina says.

Corwin

Jaela nods slowly, trying to focus on that one persistent spell....

<Steph> I might have made a terrible mistake

Anastasia

Jaela has to spend magic like water, but she gets the last barrier to collapse.
<Afina> Imagine a tiny pixie boot stamping on a devil's face.
<Afina> Forever.

<Yuthirin> Afina, giant parasitic rainbow space whale.
<IronDragoon> I mean, why not?

Corwin

Jaela proceeds to open the door and step inside!
<Steph> I might have made a terrible mistake

Ebiris

"We're clear now," Afina says, going to open the door and follow the path onwards!

Anastasia

To a hallway, avoiding all doors. Wrapping around until you find a plain stairway going down.
<Afina> Imagine a tiny pixie boot stamping on a devil's face.
<Afina> Forever.

<Yuthirin> Afina, giant parasitic rainbow space whale.
<IronDragoon> I mean, why not?

Ebiris

Anastasia

The stairs lead down into a plain basement, hollowed out earth and stone worked. Yet the walls shimmer with arcane magics, and within the room sits a large, floating gray crystal. It's about the size of Hanna and sheds a steady light.
<Afina> Imagine a tiny pixie boot stamping on a devil's face.
<Afina> Forever.

<Yuthirin> Afina, giant parasitic rainbow space whale.
<IronDragoon> I mean, why not?

Ebiris

Afina gets to work on analysing how it all works!

[11:13] <@Ebiris> roll 1d20+45 spellcraft
[11:13] <Serith> Ebiris roll for Serith < 50 > [d20=5]

Anastasia

This crystal is the focus of all the realm's energies. The heart of the demiplane, if you will. It's been heavily modified and focused into one point - which is dying, which will only leave behind barren earth in the demiplane as well as a dearth of magic. It won't quite be a dead magic area, but when it's done, it'll make any spellcasting or supernatural powers difficult to use at best.
<Afina> Imagine a tiny pixie boot stamping on a devil's face.
<Afina> Forever.

<Yuthirin> Afina, giant parasitic rainbow space whale.
<IronDragoon> I mean, why not?

Ebiris

"It looks like the yugoloth linked the demiplane to his own life-force. It's dying without him," Afina says after a moment's study.

Any ideas on how to fix it?
[11:19] <@Ebiris> roll 1d20+43 arcana
[11:19] <Serith> Ebiris roll for Serith < 53 > [d20=10]

<Steph> I might have made a terrible mistake

Anastasia

This is highly theoretical, but one possibility comes to mind. A massive infusion of sheer magical power could reverse this or at least halt it. Far more than a mere 9th circle spell.
<Afina> Imagine a tiny pixie boot stamping on a devil's face.
<Afina> Forever.

<Yuthirin> Afina, giant parasitic rainbow space whale.
<IronDragoon> I mean, why not?

Corwin

"How about pushing our strongest magic into it?" Jaela offers. "I can channel directly into the crystal, and if we time it right and do it together that could be enough."
<Steph> I might have made a terrible mistake

Ebiris

Afina nods. They'll have nothing to show for it otherwise. "Everyone surround the crystal," she says, taking position herself and calling up her last eleventh circle spell, the potential to create a volcano, to form a mighty shield around herself, or bind a part of the wild hunt into her service. Or make her sword hit really hard or deflect a powerful attack. Her magic's versatile that way! Which is why she perhaps has an easier time of channelling the magical potential into the crystal than Bubbles will converting her eleventh circle fog trap spell into unshaped power, but the nymph will do her part as well!

"On three? One, two, three." And away she goes!
