"Could have been a dragon called Yagarlaosonos, one of Tiamat's greatest supposedly slumbering on the nature of draconic perfection for millions of years?" Afina posits a random guess.

"I prefer Baleruk, frankly."

Mei nods firmly, as her eyes glaze over. She speaks - not in her voice, but in the voice of the Trune. "Prepare." The three as one intone, "Lifasa groans under fire and fury."

[Nephrite]

Moore frowns. "Oh, that's... not good."

[Ebiris]

No rest for the wicked, is there? "How long do we have?" she asks Mei, growing more serious. That time limit keeps getting shortened!

[Anastasia]

"Two weeks," The Triune says, "Hell is trying to outrace you, to destroy what it cannot hold. Lifasa's leylines burn with fire. It was meant to be your tomb, but failing that, Hell has orchestrated a fatal injury to Lifasa."

[Ebiris]

Simmer would be happy with that news at least, but... "So they've given up on Lifasa entirely? They'll just destroy it rather than fight for even a chance at retaining control?" she asks, somewhat startled. Honestly she'd thought of Lifasa as already being effectively dead, what with it being a burnt husk of a world where nothing grows ever since Abigor set foot there, with Bel's presence simply speeding its descent into Hell. Is this new ley line thing going to rend the entire world asunder or what?

[Anastasia]

"We are not clear," The Triune replies, "It may yet be a gambit to draw you in, it is possible they could reverse it. Or it may merely be an attempt for you to lose, even in victory. The Duke of Destiny's motives in this are not clear, for they are the motives of the Ninth."

[Corwin]

"There's plenty of time for us to make a difference," Jaela states with confidence. "Thank you for the clarification."

[Anastasia]

"Know that there is hope - Lifasa has been wounded many times now, and this would not so harm a healthy world. Yet we will support you when the time is right. Take the sigils and triumph, Aurora," The Triune bids.

[Corwin]

Then Mei gasps and sags, falling to one knee.

"Well," Canderella says, "Once again, fuck Baator. So what are we going to do about this?"

"Aurora will have to take the field soon," Afina says. "For the final battle. Are you alright, Mei?" she flutters closer to the mute elf.

[Nephrite]

"Let's let Jaela get her rest, then identify the treasures to see if maybe they can offer us any insight or further assistance, then...I guess call a meeting?" Moore asks. "It doesn't do us any good to try and puzzle out Hell's tactics, I think... so a debate as to whether we go sooner or later is kind of moot... at least in my opinion, anyway."

[Anastasia]

Mei nods.
