- A variant of vigor designed to repair constructs instead of heal living creatures.
- A variant scrying spell designed to allow the caster to see through the fortress, as if it had eyes.
- Seven interlocked spells that capture, funnel and direct some of the magical energy used against it to a location deeper underground.

"That thing is funneling some of the magic deeper underground. We need someone to scout where to... But first, let me try to get rid of those spells..."

The magic around the fortress collapses, dispelled one and all by Surraruthru's burst of power. As it does...

"So what, it's stealing our magic?" Simmer quickly asks, readying more magic.

Her action depends on the reply here.

[Iron Dragoon]

"It's sending it somewhere down below. We'll have to go down to see what for, but I can imagine it's either the trap the Duke is setting up or a ritual to cause even more damage or the like. I've destroyed the enchantments on it. It had one that let it be used like a scrying device, which is why I didn't mention it. But... The spells that channeled our magic away were seven spells interlocked... I think that has significance, but I'm not sure what. There was also a self-repairing spell on it."

[Yuthirin]

'Were you able to destroy the spell channeling our power?'

[Iron Dragoon]

'I destroyed all of them. Nine in total.'

[Anastasia]

With more flames frying it, repeating again and again, the fortress cracks. It's melting and burning, cracks running along it - until before you reyes, it crumbles and plummets below. Got it!

'I've let our command structure know of what's going on, let's proceed.' Tryll says as Calleigh floats out of the ground.

"Fortifications aren't fun! Especially when we gotta be all careful and stuff! Phbbbt!" Calleigh blows a raspberry.

'Calleigh, do you think you can go incorporeal and find where the magic was being channeled to? Or the nexus?'

[Anastasia]

"Everyone okay?" Jetina asks, "No one still injured?"

Simmer merely descends down, "We going on? More devils to burn."

[Yuthirin]

"Maybe!" Calleigh says, looking wary, "I'm not super good with the magic-y stuff, but I can try!"

[Iron Dragoon]

'I just need you to find it. I can probably deal with it after that, but locating it is the difficult and time-consuming part. They built this place to be a maze, but if you can just go through the ground to find it, we can get this done faster.'
