"And I thought Zariel had an embarrassingly short reign," Alicia smiles at Latha before she nods to Donald. "It really is effortless. I have to use my magic for anything serious, but for little things? The weave just flows to what I desire."

[Anastasia]

Sulia murmurs, "It's what magic always should have been," she says, "Will working, rather than complex formula and arcane incantations. Goodness, it's rewarding to use."

"Yeah?" Donald says, "All I know is that I have a couple hundred spell formula and diagrams to draw for my next spell." He sighs long, "I'm going to have to recalculate the entire definition of magma and numerologically connect it to Oghma and Raziel as safe channels."

"Magic is fine the way it is. That sort of work is how you know you've earned the power to... blast your enemies with a cone of holy magma?" she guesses as to what Donald's working on. Because of course she'd stick up for orthodox magic, it's the way Mystra wants it!

[Anastasia]

"No, a touch spell. Something like holy magma grasp," Donald says, "But that name's terrible."

"Golden Magma Touch?" Latha suggests, "It would fit Seira's style."

Another head shake, "Nah, she does the gold thing better than I do. I need to sound respectable. Like all the named spells have good names. I don't want to be the Donald known as The Donald With The Shitty Spell Name!"

"Don't name it after yourself, the name just gets taken off by everyone else that ends up using it anyway," Alicia tells Donald, recalling the tale of Marie's Marvelous Missile. "What about Volcanic Reach? Or Touch of Deep Fire?"

[Anastasia]

"Or something that's a signature but not your name. That opal spell of Antenora's does that," Latha speaks up now, "Besides, there are many Donalds. Surely others that could have  made the spell may claim it, too."

Donald grunts at that, rubbing his chin, "How about Big Fire Touch? ...no, doesn't feel right. Volcano Grab. Oh, I like that one!"

"Volcano grab's good but doesn't really bring forward the holy aspect," Alicia muses, rolling around ideas in her head. "Purifying Pyroclasm?"

[Anastasia]

"No, too much alliteration," Empress Sulia laughs, a light and airy thing, "Dearies, we're arguing about spell names potentially moments before we go and challenge a Lord of the Nine in his own abode. How surreal."

"Better than focusing on pre-fight jitters," Latha says, voice going gentler, "Even the most hardened warrior can succumb to them if left fallow too long."
