Ebiris

We have mass death ward up.

Corwin

Further, deities are immune to ability damage, I believe?

Anastasia

Good enough. Antenora needs a Fort save, then, Amaryl's protected.

<Kobot> Kotono rolled 1d20+48 Antenora --> [ 1d20=20 ]{68}

Yet all of you resist the fog, as it assails you all over, like a thousand lashes of a numbing whip.

Antenora shivers, "What horrid thing is this?"

"Like all of winter without being cold," Amaryl says, bow readied.

Alicia gestures and a beam of spellfire erodes away the ceiling above them, intending to take the shortest route towards the source of that mist!

Corwin

What is it? Is it a sentient being? How do we kill it?

You remember a story. Something known only as the Silent Mist, a green fog that spreads out and slaughters anyone exposed to it. It is said it once came on a battlefield in Ysgard and wiped everyone out before vanishing again. Little is known about it otherwise, one of many odd planar occurrences. It corrodes and destroys with acid, poison and perhaps other means.

Seira decides to see whether the mist burns!

Spellfire obliterates the ceiling, leaving behind a hole upwards, more green mist plunging down. At the same time Seira breathes fire, catching the fine room ablaze but not affecting the mist meaningfully.

Amaryl doesn't speak instead flying upwards, Antenora right after her.

Alicia flies up herself, intending to keep beaming her way through the structure to reach the source of the mist at its top!

Corwin

Not fire, then. Seira tries a burst of healing energy, to see whether it would be effective.

I'll try emulating a positive energy AoE, purely to see if the mist is vulnerable to it.

Another floor - this one opening up into some sort of armory, several servants lying there, humanoids with bodies dissolving before your eyes. Antenora glances at them, her knuckles growing white around her spear.

Meanwhile Seira channels positive energy below. It doesn't seem to have a meaningful effect on the mist.

Cold is next. Alicia is doing a wonderful job of opening up the path, and Yan-C-Bin is looking more and more like Lixer by killing more of his servants than their own attack had, so Seira could split her attention and focus on experimentation while keeping pace with the others.

"More to that retreat than just avoiding our wrath," Alicia says with a scowl as she sees what this last ditch defence does to the fortress inhabitants. It doesn't stop her continuing to carve a path upwards, every floor heralding her presence with a burst of silver flame that consumes all before it.
