Okay, Alyssa. Trip accomplished, book gotten. Next move now that everyone's back and no fires started while you were gone?

[Iron Dragoon]

Emily researching which artifact she wants to go after. Work on new land/space for the guild while she figures it out.

[Anastasia]

Okay, how are you working on new land/space?

[Iron Dragoon]

Well, you never fully decided on the expanded/permanent mage's mansion idea, so either that or researching/building a spell to create new land.

[Anastasia]

"Raise Island, huh?" Jarem says as the two of you talk it over, "I've heard of it in action. It works pretty good for what it is. Trick is getting your hands on a copy of the spell."

[Iron Dragoon]

Alyssa nods.

"Indeed. I have to either find another mage's order that has a copy and work something out or try to recreate it from scratch. The latter will take significantly more time."

Alyssa considers what she knows of other mage's guilds or arcane libraries.

[Anastasia]

Local or extraplanar.

[Iron Dragoon]

Both. Local is likely the mageocracy which we don't like, but there might be a smaller something around.

[Anastasia]

The real problem is that there's few guilds who have such mighty magic. Many don't reach beyond mortal magic and the ninth circle, and as such, local guilds aren't very productive. Chasing down an archmage or legendary figure tends to be more productive there.

As for extraplanar ones, it depends on where you aim or otherwise narrowing it down.

Extraplanar, places that would be amicable to either an ally of the Red Knight or trading.

[Anastasia]

Well, besides Brightwater?

There's a few various war band and guilds that qualify who serve or cooperate with the Red Knight. Do you have any additional preferences to narrow it down?

[Iron Dragoon]

Um, not that I can think of? If nothing else, I have the mind improvement spell to trade, so that'll be good for any sort of mage or leadership/tactician types.

[Anastasia]

Okay.

The Red Spellslingers are one such group, they serve the Red Knight and Jarem is an easy in. Another is the Wise Wizards, a group that uses strategy and tactics in magic. A third possibility is the Glomway Boys, a cabal that works out of Brightwater but has ties to the Red Knight's clergy and gets along with them.

[Iron Dragoon]

"Jarem, between the Red Spellslingers and the Glomway Boys, which would you recommend? Brightwater could open more doors down the line, but it'll also put us more in the light."

[Anastasia]

"You nailed the problem right there," Jarem says, "I'd have more pull with the Slingers, because they hew closer to the line. Queen, the real question is how risk-adverse do you feel?"
