[Iron Dragoon]

Alyssa sighs. "Survivor? Also, well done on learning to knock."

[Anastasia]

"It was an assault on Lord Jarem's soldiers, ma'am. Three dead, one wounded." He answers.

[Iron Dragoon]

"Very well. I'll go find him."

[Anastasia]

"Yes, ma'am." The page says, and then hesitates. "Should I call some guards, ma'am?"

[Iron Dragoon]

"Yes, though I'm sure Jarem is doing the same."

[Anastasia]

Guards indeed swiftly come, escorting you. Jarem meets you outside of the barracks, face grim.

"Three dead, the fourth wounded but alive," he announces, "Their souls were not captured, so they go onto their reward and final analysis by the Red Knight."

[Iron Dragoon]

"Did the survivor see the face?"

[Anastasia]

"No," Jarem says, "He didn't see much, the assassin was fast." He exhales after that, "He's resting, the shock and the injuries shook him."

[Iron Dragoon]

"We need to find this assassin. What do you think of trying a peace-bond trap?"

[Anastasia]

"Depends on what precisely you have in mind," Jarem says, face dark. "I want this," A word in a language you don't know follows, but it sounds vile. "Dead and his soul facing the Red Knight's justice."

[Iron Dragoon]

"Well, he's consistently targeting people when they're either alone or at rest. Give him a target with a peace-bond trap. He won't be able to draw his weapon. We'll be able to, hopefully, capture him or at least track that spell signature."

[Anastasia]

What do you have in mind by a peace bond trap?

[Iron Dragoon]

Set up a room with some sort of trap trigger, be it a magical seal or contingency or something, and have it trigger the peace-bond spell and maybe something to mark it. Magic symbol or something. I think there's a spell that creates a hidden magic rune on something that only the caster can see.

[Anastasia]

"It would have to be strong to affect someone like that," Jarem says, "The base spell's simple, first circle. You'd need a lot of power behind it."

[Iron Dragoon]

"That's part of why I chose it. I can lead a circle to cast it, and with it being such a low spell, we have lots of people who can cast with me. It's a matter of verifying trustworthiness beforehand. Unless there are other choices?"
