[Anastasia]

"Lots of them, but it's a good arrow in the quiver," Jarem remarks, looking off for a few moments, "The problem is that this sort is almost always skilled in dealing with traps and precautions. They have to be. So we can't rely on just one trap."

[Iron Dragoon]

Alyssa nods. "Think we should employ an assassin to find an assassin?"

[Anastasia]

"Unsavory but it's not the worst idea," Jarem says, "So," he gives you another look, more considering, "Know any assassins?"

[Iron Dragoon]

"Not personally, but there's Brightwater. Anything can be purchased there. Or at least pointed to."

[Anastasia]

"I'm not sure Brightwater deals in that, unless it's holy assassins like Domiel's merry band, but that should suffice," Jarem finally says.

[Iron Dragoon]

"If not directly, surely able to point to a reliable contact. Once we sort the treasure out, we can take some pieces for sale or investigation and use that as an excuse."

[Anastasia]

"Yeah, but excuse?" Rubbing his chin a moment and lowering his voice, "Are assassins illegal in this guild and you're doing something you shouldn't?"

[Iron Dragoon]

"It's a don't ask don't tell type thing. Political conflict is common, but that's a can of worms no one wants opened. It's too close to the Mageocracy's way of doing things. Besides, it's exactly that we don't have many of those types around that bringing one would get noticed. We'll have e to come up with a pretence as well."

[Anastasia]

"Congratulations, he's now a private in my deployment," Jarem smiles faintly, "I can work out the details and provide him with what he needs from there so he isn't easily detected."

[Iron Dragoon]

"Hm. I have a concern about that. It's fairly common knowledge that we don't employ those types here, so I'm worried the obvious first place to look for one being brought in is among your people. I was thinking something a bit more mundane. A refugee from the Mageocracy looking to become one of the local workers. What do you think?"

[Anastasia]

"Just as good," Jarem says, "Anyone who comes in now will be a natural suspect, we can't help that."

[Iron Dragoon]

Alyssa nods.

"But it'd make the most sense to watch for an individual. What about a family? Could we arrange for a small team or the like? Or would that be too much?"

[Anastasia]

"Easy enough," Jarem says, "I can make it happen."

[Iron Dragoon]

"Actually, I think I want you and Emily to take care of it. Emily will need to learn how to make contacts and judge character and contracts if she's going to operate independently and what skill sets she'll need to contract to fill in the holes in her own."

[Anastasia]

"Consider it done," Jarem agrees, "You're right, it's a good chance for her to learn. She's familiar with Brightwater so this should be effective."
