"That or perhaps she doesn't tease you about law and chaos enough to keep your fancy?" Ebony's smiling now as you go up.

You're in a simple room, a door to the north. Nothing fancy here, just crushed insects.

"Alicia's ability to take my side now and then in those debates is one of her more endearing features actually!" Marie perks up as Alicia consecrates the room and then opens the door to the North.

[Anastasia]

Eyes unseen burst and pop, ruined as you go to the north. Here lies a common room, the remnants of chairs and other such things about. Insects are everywhere, sacs obliterated in due order.

Based on what Mystra said, the wound is probably to the East then. So Alicia consecrates then goes to open the door in that direction.

The consecration spreads throughout, restoring the room. A room of rest, a room of peace. The western wall has a large scroll on it, familiar religious lessons from Mystra on it.

A smaller but still large room is to the east, full of vermin and what may be supplies and extra furniture. As you blast the vermin away, you notice there's an archway to the south. Beyond it is a little more storage space, also soon purged.

You also notice an arm emerging from an extra chair, solid wood like the chair and reaching right for Ebony.

If it survived Marie's righteous smite maybe it's not evil? That at least prompts Alicia not to immediately destroy it, instead saying, "Ebony, the chair!" to warn her to keep out of its reach.

[Anastasia]

Ebony quickly moves away as the hand weakly paws at her. Groaning and creaky, a wooden voice begs, "H-help me..."

[Ebiris]

"What happened to you?" Alicia asks

Marie peers at it curiously!

Blessed sight is no-delay detect evil and greater arcane sight automatically tells her all the spells on him/her/it. She also has Discern Lies up, DC 28 will negates.

[Anastasia]

No evil on it. Marie's knowledges tell her that this is probably a soul mashed into this form, tortuously.

"They c-came," it groans, "Help. It hurts so much."

Would break enchantment or unbinding fix it?

[Anastasia]

Alicia is fairly sure unbinding would work.

[Ebiris]

"Peace, salvation is at hand," Alicia says in a reassuring tone as she draws herself up and casts unbinding, liberating all around her from coercive magic!

Cries of pain become gasps of relief. The furniture in here collapses into rubble, as motes of brilliant light fly around you. You feel their gratitude, their relief.

Come, you've suffered enough. Come home to me after one final journey, my faithful. You will be rewarded for your steadfastness in the face of horror.

There is a hint of chilly mist as the souls around you fade away one by one, the sense of gratitude lingering.

"Come," she says briskly. "The sooner we close the rift the sooner we can cleanse this place properly."

Retreating back out of here to the previous room she opens the Northwards door from it.

[Anastasia]

"Meaningless," Ebony growls, "They didn't even take them for the larvae trade! They did that only to hurt them."

The next hallway is full of sacs and insects, purged without comment. It's a short hall, covered in destroyed sacks and with a door to the north.
