"Xixecal," Xandra murmurs, "Move with caution. I sense that is a cursed, horrible name. Do not speak it lightly."

Kaja glances over, "So like most of our enemies, eh?"

"We may have gotten wrapped up in something a lot more complicated than we realized." Moore says. He shakes his head and goes to try the door.

The northern one. If there are 6 of them, then a northern one.

Sure thing.

This door is not locked. It opens easily and readily, revealing a chamber of mounted scrolls. Scrolls big and small, all rolled and kept, hundreds of racks of them. Scrolls of all kinds, a few of the short, blue Ourano reading them. Stairs wind up to higher levels, large gaps in the floor letting you peer upward. Here more scrolls can be seen, more and more racks of them.

"I don't think they're here." Moore says.

He'll go to the next door to his east until we end up finding The Boss, if they're even here at all.

[Anastasia]

You return back - and as silent as a tomb. All of the Ourano are gone, nothing but stone, dead silence within the library.

"Be alert," Xandra draws her blade, "We are hunted." Her words seem strangled, a whisper choked out despite being spoke normally.

Cresiel begins to speak, but his words are lost. It is silent now. Not a sound is heard in the library. Kaja draws his blades without the faintest rustle of steel.

[Nephrite]

Moore narrows his eyes as he speaks up, attempting to overcome this silence with the power of his own words.

"We are not afraid of you. Show yourself."

Attempting to use the Words of Creation as a thematic counter to whatever effect this is.

Jetina has her sword and shield ready as you utter those words. They are heard aloud, rippling through the silence.

The creature before you is silent, as is all of its kin. Each looks like an overgrown ape with dusts and too fat, blubbery. Each is taller than two Hannas stacked together, furred body ending in cloven hooves that support its considerable bulk. Each one has its mouth stitched shut with thread and sharp needles, blood dripping down their chin and chest from there. There are perhaps two dozen of them, each subtly different, yet each with a sealed, bleeding mouth.

Kaja licks his lips, a drop of blood seen.
