Alyssa nods, "That's part of a larger fight. There's a power that connects us. When we accomplish things it gives us a bit of... A push. A bit more power for the next fight."

With Jarem gone Bastian kicks back in his seat. A long gaze before he says, "Fine, whatever wizardry it is. At least you're worth the trouble. You're no meek woman or ineffective researcher."

[Iron Dragoon]

Alyssa grins.

"Actually, I am a researcher. It just so happens that I research dangerous thing. I have to be more dangerous."

[Anastasia]

That gets a grunt from Bastian, "Good, you'll do." He says.

In that moment, you feel it. A faint but real connection to Bastian, blossoming between the two of you.

Alyssa crooks and eyebrow and smirks, "Welcome to the family, so to speak. It happens when you accomplish a personal goal. I assume you were suspicious of sticking with me and made up your mind."

[Anastasia]

"Shaundakul gave me an option to leave if you weren't up to my standards," Bastian admits, standing up, "You're up to them after that. Magic to use more swords. I like it."

[Iron Dragoon]

Alyssa chuckles.

"Yes, it does tend to be a surprise tactic for most. I chose a good axe for it too. Would you like to meet it formally?"

[Anastasia]

"Show me," Bastian says, as...

Alyssa hustles Emily into her study.

"Emily, I'm not sure how far you have gotten with your debt to Waukeen, but... Do you think gifting the bank to her might help?"

[Anastasia]

"The bank," Emily says, going to slowly tap a finger on the chair, "The entire bank?"

[Iron Dragoon]

"The building, not then contents. I had intended to make it into a floating depository for the more dangerous things... And best trophies, but being in debt isn't something I want distracting our efforts either."

[Anastasia]

"I..." A long pause, "I doubt it," Emily finally says, "It's a noble gesture, but a building hardly matches what was lost."

[Iron Dragoon]

"Mmm. I figured, but was hoping it would help make some headway with it. Still... I suppose you have more work ahead. Consider researching any mentions of more than standard divine interference. Legends of it are a starting point."

[Anastasia]

"I will," Emily agrees, "Once this is all sorted out."
