"I think she's mostly upset about Jade," Alicia says with a little smile. "Our bad blood stretches back further, but killing a proxy and stealing her spark was a vast escalation on my part. But the cause and the victim were both deserving so I don't regret it."

[Anastasia]

A sip of wine before Amaryl continues, "Yes, she did deserve it, but it means another war. Malcanthet is likely to strike while we're occupied, or even spitefully aid the efreet. Well, she needs to be stopped regardless of that. I remember..." Giving you an understanding look, "I doubt she easily lets go of those she almost had."

[Ebiris]

"The sort of over-arching war with the efreet is the exception and not the norm," Alicia points out. "Even when Pale Night held the children of Androlynne conflict was local and confined. I don't mean to minimise that or the potential threat of Malcanthet, only you shouldn't see every danger in the same terms. The trouble she causes is likely to be far more insidious."

[Anastasia]

At this Corellon looks over, "Alicia is right. This sort of war is rare because it involves great sacrifice and risk."

Amaryl bows her head at that, "I know that. I..." A pause here, looking back up, "I just grow weary of barbarity after barbarity. Some nights, when I am alone, I weep over those I know I cannot help, or that I will never know that need help. Of the sins and the horrors I cannot stop. Sometimes I fear this gift and ascension is too much. Brother, how do you endure?"

To this Corellon Latherian gestures in one direction and then the other, both sides of the table in sweeping gestures. "With the knowledge that every success I have shall stay here forever more, free and content. When my heart grows heavy with the sorrows of Creation, the smiling faces of my brothers and sisters sustains me. When you are not strong enough, allow the joy of those you were strong for to be your strength."

"Well said," Alicia raises a glass to Corellon. "The injustices of Creation are not so well hidden that you need the insight of a God to see them. Be glad instead that grow in power to right them, that your legend and status inspires yet more to act for you cannot be everywhere at once," she encourages Amaryl.

[Anastasia]

"To be grateful for what I can change instead of what I cannot," Amaryl says, raising her glass as well. "That is wise. I will engrave that wisdom into my heart."

Corellon drinks after that, the festivities continuing.

If we get any leads on Violet's activities outside of Shendilvari we'll possibly go smash something.

Otherwise (and barring being forced into the efreet war) it's waiting till the Daun expedition is nearly ready and Red Knight's visit to inspect them.

Back in Sylica after a recent report from Naeys about trouble stalking Antenora, she and Alicia are on one of the crags of the Opal Mountain trying to get to the bottom of it.

"I detest vague divinations, especially considering the sort of deadly lives we lead," Alicia says to her friend. "But if it's something above the norm then it's not to be discounted. I'm not a specialist but as a goddess I can make up for it in volume..."

Plan is to alter reality spam a spell based on Augury and get the Weal or Woe results for Antenora if she were to stay in Sylica or visit X plane, where I'll go down the list of every outer, inner, and transitive plane.

[Anastasia]

"Of course, Alicia," Antenora says, "There is no shame in this." She gives Alicia a small smile.

"Only fire stands out as particularly dangerous from the inner and transitive planes, though that could just be collateral from the ongoing war... or direct action from Eblis or another," Alicia says after the first few. "Outer planes next, this will take longer."

"The outer planes are about as expected - interestingly something good is predicted for Carceri, and both Mechanus and Limbo give a negative outlook," Alicia says. "One more just for staying at home then..." The prime is of course off limits, and she can't expect a divination to give anything for Beyond.

Same for Sylica, in case it differs from Ysgard.
