"If it comes to that we'll have to give it our all," Alicia says. If the guardian mimics its form and probably its power then even if they do avoid a fight with the world serpent they'll have to fight something just like it later anyway.

With that you notice something ahead. About half a mile away you see something come around the corner of the burrow-tunnel. A solar flies ahead, coming in your direction. He is clad in heavy armor and helm, nothing but his wings visible, and even those are heavily armored. He carries a fullblade in hand, a massive sword large even for a solar. It's more like a slab of steel with an edge than a real sword.

"Oh look, our next fight," Syala says, "Wonder who he wants to challenge?"

"One of you should take it since I had the last one," Alicia says, it being important to spread such things around.

[Anastasia]

"I'll take him," Syala strides forward, Blessing of the Twelve in hand. In response the celestial raises his blade to the air, a salute back.

"Goddess," The celestial calls, "I, Radodiel, challenge you!"

Syala stops at 100ft away and beckons him closer, "It's your life to lose," Syala says pleasantly, "Accepted!"

Antenora takes 10 for 56 on K:P, and will set up divine insight for further checks with alter reality.

In the meantime Antenora sends to Alicia, 'Radodiel, I've heard of the name but it's an old one. Likely a celestial out of sight serving Jormugandr for eternity. I fear Syala is at a reach disadvantage, but I doubt that will slow her down in the slightest.'

Most of the celestials in here are likely powerful but unknown to the wider world, even more obscure than Heavenly Rock. She nods to Antenora, "Unless a decisive blow is struck with it, the reach advantage is only ever a temporary one," she says quietly.

[Anastasia]

No more words as Syala and Radoliel clash, the two coming together, weapons at the ready.

Yet Syala is too much. She glides through the blade, a moment where she is gone, only to reappear past the swing. As she does columns of burning, white hot flame erupt out all around Syala, great pillars of it that reach almost to the ceiling high above.

200 searing fire damage. So 100 and then halved for 50 damage to Syala. Negative status negated as Syala is immune to stunning.

The flame pillars dance and whirl, Syala brushed and burnt. But it's only that as the pillars stay up, spreading and moving, tracking Syala. She's grinning now as she meets his charge with one of her own, taking a swipe as she does.

"They're not going away, it's a formidable trick," Antenora watches the combat, "They're moving, I suspect he controls them."

Meanwhile it is a clash of fire and fury. All the flame pillars converge on Syala, attempting to entomb her in flame.

Syala has no choice but to leap back, to dodge fully on as the pillars of fire surround Radoliel. The way to him is obscured completely, hidden by great eruptions of searing white fire. Syala flies up and back, another swipe through the flame as she does.

A great woooosh of flame comes as the pillars collapse in on themselves, embers of flame raining down all around. They are gone now, Radoliel revealed once more.

'Can he do it again and again, or is he only good for it once?' Antenora asks you in your mind.

The Child of Fire watches those flames, "Radoliel understands fire," he speaks now, "The heat of Ysgard's bones is his teacher."

"It's a powerful spell, but Syala had to dig deep to dispel it and she's been scorched a bit," Alicia says to Antenora. "And since we still have much further to go, attrition favours Radoliel."

[Anastasia]

Antenora nods faintly as Radoliel raises his blade up. Light of all colors floods into it, a rainbow glow around it. "Come forth and smite," he cries, as more and more light comes to it by the moment.

"Radoliel, I hope you can take all the light I have to give," Syala declares, "Lathander's light, burst!" she intones, as a sunstorm explodes out, the entire area suddenly awash in glorious sunshine.

She's taking a page from Latha's book (Don't worry, Latha's used to it, and sunstorm isn't a unique spell for her anyway) and casting sunstorm.

With a loud CRACK Radodiel's sword shatters into several pieces, light spilling out all around the solar. He reels back from it, the handle and a little of the blade still in hand. There is a long moment before the solar kneels, "Yield," he announces, voice pained.

Syala gathers the pieces of his sword with divine will and says, "A good battle, and come to Sylica." She approaches him and offers a hand, "Latha's services would be sufficient to repair your sword, for the sun, light and smithing are her gifts."

Radodiel takes that hand and rises, "My deepest thanks."

"It was well reasoned," Radodiel confesses, "I knew it a risk when I challenged a goddess of light."

"Nonetheless, Latha will see it renewed," Antenora agrees, "There may come a day where you need that blade for deeds of great righteousness, we would not deprive Creation of it when that day comes."

[Ebiris]

"Indeed. Do you know who is next likely to challenge us when we continue in this direction, Radodiel?" Alicia asks.

[Anastasia]

"The better question is what won't," Radodiel admits, "But I believe more Children of Jormugandr approach faster than anything else. The Quadruplets in particular."

[Ebiris]

"What are they like?" she asks, a glance down at Partanyx.

Also she reaches over to heal Syala.
