Nephrite

He rubs his own forehead.

It's actually embarrassing that this spell has to do this for him.

"My investigations into the Empty Knight took me to Mystra to better understand what had become of him. Do you mind telling me if that matches anything you've uncovered on the subject?"

Anastasia

"Yes," The dragon agrees as the others listen - except Sylvie, who seems distracted, gaze unfocused. "The Empty Knight had ties to her, and I assumed that this had something to do with the daemons striking at Mystra. I suspect Mystra may be why the daemons failed, directly or indirectly. How else would such a plot fail?"

<Afina> Forever.

<Yuthirin> Afina, giant parasitic rainbow space whale.
<IronDragoon> I mean, why not?

Nephrite

"Because it may be relevant, let me explain what I know." Moore says. "The Empty Knight had a special power, the ability to be 'slighty outside' of any system that it inhabits. Think of it kind of like... being permanently out of phase, almost, I think is a good way to explain. It tried and failed to rid itself of this quality. We are hoping to help it resolve that particular issue, and... that's kind of what's led us to this." Moore says.

"But if the daemons were just trying to strike at Mystra, it would stand to reason they'd strike at something that had her support and protection. Hm... why do you think the daemons never came here to try and take the Scabbard back? I mean, I realize we had a rather specific reason for coming here, but if this item was as important to them as it seems, it strikes me as odd that they just never bothered."

A nod follows after that and a glance to Sylvie, but Moore knows that look since he's had his own sort of things to deal with as he returns to the statue.

Anastasia

"They wanted the Empty Knight to keep it and never sought it back," The dragon concludes, "Why else would they?"

<IronDragoon> I mean, why not?

Nephrite

"On the surface that makes sense, but I wonder if they ever considered the possibility that they might give it up? I also wonder why the Empty Knight even tried to get it in the first place... Maybe it was to try and help with its own research?" A shake of his head. "I suppose I'm getting off track here."

Let's invoke 5/7 here.

Anastasia

What power have you gained from the Scabbard?

<IronDragoon> I mean, why not?

Nephrite

"Would you mind elaborating on what power you gained from the Scabbard?" Moore asks. "I know you mentioned gaining power and knowledge over disease, but was there anything else?"

He has a feeling this one isn't going to go over as well as the last questions, but here's hoping...

Anastasia

"I'd rather not," Is the answer, short and to the point.

<Yuthirin> Afina, giant parasitic rainbow space whale.
<IronDragoon> I mean, why not?

Nephrite

"While I can certainly understand your hesitation," Moore begins, "I would be willing to trade for the information, or at least offer you something equivalent. You've been gracious enough to answer what I've asked so far, so I owe you that much anyway."

Anastasia

"Make an offer," Is the counter, the statue not looking away.

<IronDragoon> I mean, why not?

Nephrite

Well, he didn't say no.

But what could he... hmm.

"The dragon that created that spell happens to be a guest in my home. If you'd like, I can introduce you." Moore says. "Beyond that, I have access to a great many things you may not have been aware of since your slumber here." He says. "There are quite a few other spells I've developed in my time that may be of interest to you."

He turns and nods to Jetina. "Also, my comrade here is a master of the art of healing. I can all but guarantee if you wanted to find more counters to the diseases you study, she would be able to find them for you. Why, using her power we were able to defeat a curse placed on Sisatar himself by Ulamos, who is someone who supports The Adversary."

"If none of that is of interest, then I can also offer my support to your research endeavors and resources to support them. Actually, and quite honestly, I'm very interested in that as well." Moore says. "You clearly have the same sort of hope in your heart for yourself as I look for in those I call friends."

Anastasia

Jetina smiles, "I'd love to talk diseases and healing over with you," she offers. "Others can join us, such as the creator of Moore's spell."

Diplo, both of you.
<Afina> Imagine a tiny pixie boot stamping on a devil's face.
<Afina> Forever.

<Yuthirin> Afina, giant parasitic rainbow space whale.
<IronDragoon> I mean, why not?

Nephrite

Moore will take 10 for 139,

[21:55] <Nephrite> roll 1d20+70 Jetina
[21:55] <Kobot> Nephrite rolled 1d20+70 Jetina --> [ 1d20=7 ]{77}

How fitting.

Anastasia

"That is acceptable," Is the dragon's answer, after a few moments of consideration.

<IronDragoon> I mean, why not?

Nephrite

What... all of it, some of it?

He'll just assume all of it.

"In that case, after this we can see to those arrangements." Moore says. "Well, you know our names, so I'd be honored to hear yours as we listen to your story about the Scabbard."
