"That," Seira agrees with Morwel, "or discovering or forging a sword that can kill him. Since he'll actually die if killed in the Tower, that would make him hesitate to show up in person, and if he does anyway I could try negotiating from a position of strength. Ah, and I said next to impossible. There's always hope, after all~"

[Anastasia]

"To hope," Morwel agrees, "Good hunting, Seira. Oh, do you know what kind of sword he would fear?"

[Corwin]

"Not yet, I'm afraid. I've focused on the Tower rather than Dispater himself, too much as it turns out. Do you have any ideas?"

"Probably something chaotic and holy, that isn't made of metal?" Alicia suggests as a starting point.

"I would suspect riverine," Queen Morwel speculates at last.

Riverine is high pressure water kept in a shape by plates and molds of force. It's mainly notable for armor, which deflects as much as it protects.

You recall reading a grimoire that alludes to the 'Devil of the Second' who does not like it.

You could find many such places, sure.

She nods to herself. "I'll have to ask Elle to make it for me. Ah, and since we're talking about travels, I was just about to visit Sylica when this daemon reached out to me in the worst way...."

Seira provides an illusion-assisted account of the daemon in question approaching her with the scroll, and then the conversation with Dulas. "Amaryl thinks it might've been Yarus, but really, who knows? I'm just annoyed that it feels very pointless. The scroll didn't seem to hold any secrets or strange magics at a casual glance, so what exactly was it all for?"

"Probably misinformation?" Alicia suggests. "Some things true, some things not, enough to draw you in and get you working towards their ends? I imagine these new deities are very eager to test their wits and their strength against us, and Shar's slowly letting them off the leash."
