Wake up at 4:50 AM (two hours early).  Read e-mails while getting some water (I have a lot of technology, okay?).

Become unable to go back to sleep thinking about e-mails.

Forget to take calcium/magnesium supplement on way out the door.

Get to 7-11 to grab coffee and something for breakfast -- thwarted by NO PARKING.  (No, seriously, some jerk parked his pickup across two spaces and was just chilling there with his buddy.)

Ugh.  Hungry, tired, and generally distracted, hit the highway.

Horrirffic accident in front of me, I don't know what it was, but it's the first time I've ever seen street-sweepers brought in (with police escort) to clean up the huge masses of tiny broken glass/plastic/metal bits, and even after they're done, the ground looks like it's still covered in debris. D:

Delayed by that, not enough time to grab breakfast before getting into the office.

Work is fine until I unrack a co-worker's server to replace it (an SP-3000; 2 U -- not that heavy).  I'm at the front of the rack, removing the screws and securing the HDDs, she's in the back, removing connections.  She gives me the all-clear, so I take the system by the front-hooks and haul it out of the rack (it's stuck, so takes a bit of force).  As soon as it's out and I'm holding it by the hooks, the power-supply that she forgot to lock in falls out and hits the lab floor.

Daily meeting, little to offer about my progress, since I finished my project Monday and all I really did today was inventory the lab and drop a power supply.

Cut out after the meeting to hit the cafe early, since I missed breakfast and am starving and irritable, and I have an interview to check out a new place this afternoon (in about an hour).  This place almost never has people in it before noon, but today, the universe seems to think I must be punished for something, because the line wraps around the counter twice.  Being that I'm in a rush, I didn't even wait for the door to finish opening before I turned around and walked away.

After my appointment, I drove a slow (some would say, scenic!) route back to try and find something that I could actually eat (given, you know, my gallbladder issues).

Nothing.

I finally settle for going to the same place I usually grab lunch, two hours later.

Ye olde sammich shop ... is OUT OF BREAD.

Ugh.

So, I've spent the day solving problems and making people look stupid.

First, the finance people fucked up an invoice shorting a guy. They argued with me about when he was hired. I proved he was hired *over a year* prior to the date they had.

Then, I had to hunt down an employee number they had *double issued* and, again, fucked someone's pay.

Then, I had to argue about an invoice they had failed to issue. They were over a week past due issuing it. I proved it with emails. And they still argued.

I won every argument, but fuck, it's exhausting.

Alright, so. Moved to a site and it was in flux on if I stayed or not. It's semi-official I'm staying here. So.

I started looking into things. I am.. un-happy.

Database: Totally not maintained. Have to go line by line for every linguist we have. Over 360 people.

Military POCs: Totally not maintained. Getting POCs who say that the linguists we have on record as being assigned to them... Have never even been heard of.

Finance: Fucking every possible thing up. Slow. Inaccurate. Argumentative. Stupid. And inexperienced, yet convinced they know exactly what is going on.

Got my work cut out for me.

Again. Man, I'm tired of fixing other people's shit.
